Falling apart at the seams, expensive accommodation, frequent lack of hot water, broken down heating systems etc etc. Unresponsively managed and ran. Taking advantage of Bristol University student population, and all seemingly without a care...

A beautiful place filled with lovely people. They say that a Canadian lurks behind these walls.

There are a lot of critical reviews about the hawthorns - yes it's old and not high end but it's ridiculously well placed. It is secure . I have had 2 maintenance issues that were dealt with same day - I am very happy with my room and shared spaces - the imperfections are a good footing for the real world ahead.

Ideal location for lectures, SU and plenty of nearby shoos, pubs etc.

Great cafe and I love the study zone at the back to go relax and work

No sé qué pasó con el café que sirven. Tenía una calidad decente y una buena relación calidad-precio, pero en estos días es simplemente terrible, amargo y con un regusto de línea de carbón quemado. Obtendrá un descuento si trae una taza recargable, pero la calidad del café es decepcionante.

Había estado paseando por la universidad con mis hijos y nos detuvimos allí para tomar unos batidos y unos cafés helados. Fueron excelentes Buen lugar aireado y te puedes sentar afuera también. Precios razonables.

Muy bonito, pero seguros de si esta es una instalación de Bristol o un cafetería uni abierto al público. Muy confortable, con buenos precios.

Le Hawthorns est un café-restaurant situé au coeur du campus de l'université de Bristol. Aprés avoir gravi les rues pour se rendre au sommet du campus, ce restaurant fréquenté par les étudiants et les professeurs s'avère un très bon choix pour se reposer dans un cadre vivant, jeune et dynamique. Il y a de nombreuses tables disposées près de fenêtres où le soleil entre sur l'heure du midi et nous réchauffe. Les plats sont simples et bons et le cappucino est excellent. Le WiFi est gratuit et permet aux étudiants et aux visiteurs de poursuivre leurs recherches scientifiques ou touristiques. Bref, un bon café convivial pour le lunch du midi

Es un lugar muy agradable, con cómodos asientos y una amplia variedad de bebidas y alimentos. Excelente café y orignal batidos. Lugar tranquilo y práctico para conocer gente de la universidad.

Cuando me alojo en Glastonbury me gusta comer en el Hawthorns, de hecho cuando me he alojado en este maravilloso lugar ha sido conocido para mí para sentarse con el Chef Chris y discutir el plato del día y lo que me gusta comer esa noche. En la mañana siempre hay un abundante desayuno para empezar bien el día. Estoy deseando volver a este maravilloso restaurante muy pronto.

I visited the Hawthorns on the 9th Jan with my wife and could not have been more pleased with our choice. If you are looking for somewhere to stay and good food this is the place. From the moment we arrived we were made very welcome. This is not your same decor, sanitised and standard hotel that could be in any city or town it is though full of character and soul, there is no pretension just an honest welcome. Our room like the rest of the hotel was clean and had everything we needed, the food was exceptional we had taken the advice of other trip advisors and had Indian, beautiful every bite. Thanks guys we will definitely be back.

I used to work here behind one of the bars, so it has a special place in my heart! These days it has been updated and serves the most wonderful food and other refreshments. Would definitely recommend a visit. Indoors and outside seating just off Park Street/Whiteladies Road.

The Hawtorns is really good, you can have a friedly and easy side or the food lunch or dinner side, quite elegant. This double sides place is amazing, the costs are honest. The staff is quite fine, somedays better than others but bad days can happen to all. There's a garden with some tables where is really nice to enjoy the sun and the good weather drinking something of fresh. Enjoy! Michy

After sending the meal back because the fish was so overcooked it was a thin piece of dry batter second time it came it was passable just. My wife said her shepherds pie was alright but I fear she was just being polite
