For a cheap Marston's pub, this place is very overpriced and serve small portions with a lot of plate showing. Maybe they're trying to be a classy restaurant with the presentation of the food and prices but in reality it is just bog standard pub grub. We've been on several occasions and each time the menu gets pricier and the portions and food quality get less

We had a wonderful evening. We were looked after very well by Paul and Ewan. Food was well prepared. We come twice a month and always enjoy our visit.

Wow what can I say myself and my twin daughters visited the two water mills for breakfast available on a Saturday morning only been open for a couple of weeks for this but I can say they had everything available lots of it it was amazing bread .toast, pancakes with maple syrup a must visit very good value for money staff very friendly and eager to help in anyway let’s hope this breakfast on a Saturday morning only can take off with a bang . We also as a family go at least once a month for dinner or lunch and the same excellent can not fault in any way always friendly and I would like to thank yourself and your staff for excellent service

Basic pub food with some vegetarian/vegan options. Annoying that the chicken curry was the same price as the sweet potato and chickpea curry but had naan bread, papadom and chutney included but the latter only had a small flatbread. Poor value as always for vegetarians. Reasonable choices otherwise.

Great food and the best Sunday Roast locally you will find ! Fact ! . Greated by Euan the landlord on arrival and looked after by his wonderful staff from start to finish.

The evening was good with a nice atmosphere, waitress was polite and efficient. Good timely service. I ordered Hunters chicken which came with chips and a salad. Only thing I couldn't understand was why was there only lettuce in a salad side dish with a bit of dressing. What happened to cucumber, tomatoes,onions, etc. I wandered if they thought they were feeding a rabbit! Bit disappointing to think you pay nearly £16 for main course dish & you get just lettuce as a salad. Apart from that all else was ok.

My friend and I went here for food on a Sunday evening . Were quickly shown to a table and the restaurant was busy and looked nice inside and out .We ordered a burger with side of onion rings and hunters chicken . We were disappointed with the portion size, presentation and quality of the food .The "side" of onion rings consisted of only 3 skinny rings on the side of the plate and hunters chicken was bbq sauce with square slice of cheese half melted .Looked around and other meals didn't look much better so suspect this is the norm .Have been to other Marstons inns near where I live and found a big difference with this place .No concerns with the staff just disappointed with the offerings from the kitchen .My friend was paying so didn't want to cause too much fuss just wouldn't return .This is my personal opinion but sure it being busy a lot of folk are happy with it .

One of the locals but a great place to relax and unwind. Even when it's busy, the staff are always taking the time to make sure you are looked after. Special shout to Craig who always makes sure we are welcome, with a great memory and smile!

Craig is nothing but welcoming, knows his stuff, always has a smile on his fave and is a lovely guy. Will be coming again for sure!!

Love The Two Watermills. I live 12 miles away but for me it’s the best pub restaurant around and I’ve eaten in many in my area and around. We had a delicious lunch - roast turkey accompanied by 7 vegetables including the roast potatoes. The meat was soft and the gravy and yorkshire pud was scrumptious. Afterwards we had tart, zesty lemon and mine was rich caramel. Very yummy. The service is exemplary. Those servers never stop and they move fast. I even saw Craig running at one point yesterday. Compliments to the chefs, the super servers and the Manager who is obviously doing a great job to manage such a successful, busy pub.

Fantastic food as always . Would 100% recommend to any for a lunch time visit great service and good prices. Will continue to use this great place

Been here a few times, food to a good standard, reasonably priced and service decent - today it was a tad on the slow side but put this down to more customers than usual. Not impressed at being charged £1.50 extra for onion rings as shown in picture they weren’t worth £1.50. Food nice and simple.

We were greeted with a smile from Georgia as she showed us to our table. Her manner was very polite and helpful. She is an asset to the company and we hope that others follow her fine example. …….. and the meal was very tasty as well. A lovely experience all round

I asked them to wipe down the table as I was there as the previous people left the table and there were drink slopped across it and this was not done .I in all honesty did not expect a great deal, My wife ordered a prawn cocktail and I ordered a mixed grill both to be served together .I asked if at all possible if the grill could be not mixer temperatures just a mixed grill. I know from my previous experience that in busy circumstances that this can be a challenge , The prawn cocktail a piece of bread roll and butter , lettuce prawns and sauce for just over £7.00. The big tester :- The Mixed Grill ! The chips were piping hot , the mushroom was hot as was the sausage , the steak although was quite tender yet luke warm as was the lamb chop and the Gammon and this had an over fried brown egg on top of it ,making the only part of the gammon that was hot When the waiter eventually asked me if the food was OK , I stated the problems and said that a good cook can be judged by the wastage and if you bring your cook out here I wii show him how to fry an egg.

My usual spot for quick pint always delivers. the pub is always clean and the staff are welcoming and friendly. Paul, Craig and Alex are great.

We booked a table for 8 people for a special birthday meal, food was lovely, one meal was late arriving but apologies were given & also this meal was taken off the bill. The service was really lovely & nothing too much trouble, allowing is to bring our own cake & provided plates for us to eat there! Even better we had a 30% off voucher so the bill was extremely low. Visited here when staying in Newbury recently. Arrived late afternoon so went for their 'lunch/early bird' menu. 2 courses for less than £15! Not a great deal of choice but I like that! Food came out quickly and was hot and delicious. Friendly staff and efficient, even though it was a busy Friday afternoon.

My friend and I have now made this our regular restaurant when we meet up. The quality of the food is always excellent, and today we were served by a lovely young lady called Ruby. Ruby is always friendly, helpful and efficient and has a very infectious smile. Thank you for another great time.

Lunch at The Two Watermills was delicious. Two of us had the roast beef and one friend had the pork. The meat was soft and we had plenty of vegetables to accompany plus the Yorkshire pudding. We had deserts afterwards and a coffee. Service excellent and as always delightful hard working staff. For barely £25 each this meal was such good value and we were very impressed with the quality if the food and the presentation.

The case of the vanishing mixed grill - came here a week ago and was informed that mixed grill had run out (had a gammon instead which was ok). Came again tonight and again told the mixed grill had run out. I queried to be told they had been busy (Friday evening 7.30pm certainly some tables empty). Scampi also run out which was disappointing as it was that or salad for my wife due to allergies. Anyway, next table (who clearly knows the chef) guess what, orders and gets a mixed grill. So I am afraid its just a question of who you know. Sorry that's amateur time and not a way to run a restaurant.

Great find !! Looking for a lunch spot we found this on the way back down the A34. In truth Google provided this as one of the results for a search of “Harvesters near me” 😂 Whilst not a Harvester - we are partial to a salad cart, we were really impressed with this pub. Staff were friendly and conscious and food was served in good time and was great. The surf and turf was lovely, the steak tasted brilliant and was beautifully cooked. My other half had the make you own kebab with halloumi and pepper and again something a bit different and lovely and tasty. Overall a great place and certainly somewhere I would recommend to anyone

This pub is first class, An ideal place for an evening meal or just a pint. We visited on a number of occasions whilst staying at the nearby premiere inn. The food is very good along with the service, not overpriced with a good selection. Friendly atmosphere, good venue for all of the family. Would have no hesitation on returning

Best meal out for a long time, feel good salad with a lot of added chicken for my wife, gammon steaks for me with perfectly cooked chips, straight from the fryer, crisp outside, fluffy inside. Compliments to the chef. Washed down with two pints of well kept Pedigree all served by friendly staff. A total 5star experience. Well done

Fantastic service received this afternoon from Alec when we took a chance to see if they had a table for 2 far Sunday roast! They were obviously very full but Alec managed to fit us in at a table in the bar area. He explained what they had left and offered substitutes! He was so very friendly and went above and beyond to make our experience a good one! The food was prompt and great quality and quantity, thoroughly enjoyed.

A group of 16 family members descended on you for a farewell lunch, for my daughter son in law and granddaughters that had been visiting for a month, and now on their way back to Geelong. The food was fabulous the best Hunters chicken ever, everyone thoroughly enjoyed there main meal and desserts, I’m afraid I can’t remember the waitresses name but I’m sure you know who it was, she was lovely and patient when checking the order we were sat by fire escape (I want to say her name was Kira, cara or something like that) she was really good I hope you can pass that on please

First time we've been here. It's halfway between our daughter's family who live on South Coast and us grandparents who live in the Midlands. Super playground for the kids and good food in the teepee. Recommended and will visit again
