Visited for an early dinner. The staff were amazing, so helpful & friendly. Elliot stood out & went out of his way to welcome our dog, giving him water bowl. The food was excellent. I had the lamb which was amazing. Hubby had veg curry which was fantastic. Social distancing great. Looking forward to returning on Sunday for lunch. Thanks guys

we booked ahead due to Covid and were glad we did as the pub was very busy on a Monday night but with all Covid precautions fully observed. Wild boar sausages and mash was delicious.

The Cartwheel Inn

19/09/2020: This restaurant/pub was lovely. The staff were welcoming and friendly whilst making provision for Covid restrictions. Tables were well spaced out with clear screens between making you feel safe. Food and service were both excellent.
11/09/2020: We popped in for lunch on the way back from Dorset having read the good reviews. I had chicken Caesar salad and my husband had a steak sandwich- both well prepared and plentiful. Good service.

Offbeet New Forest

01/10/2020: This is a contemporary style restaurant, very clean, with good friendly service. Been here a number of times and always enjoyed our food, however, on this occasion we felt a bit let down because we found the battered 'fish' a bit tough and along with the chips, a bit on the greasy side. It didn't help that it was served in a bowl instead of a plate and we found it a bit hard to cut up, so, ended up eating the fish with our fingers. The mushy peas didn't stand out and there wasn't really anything to contrast with the 'oiliness'. We did try the Caribbean chutney/pickle but found it too hot. Never the less, the flavours and quantity were good. Having said that, it was the first day of opening for sit-in service and they were understaffed, not having expected such a response. It was nearly the end of service too. We had a great big slab of Bakewell cake which was delicious as was the coffee. Would we come back again, absolutely.
29/07/2020: Recently reopened for coffee, cakes & a small but awesome takeaway menu. The team are friendly & covid precautions are taken very seriously. We had loaded fries, coffee & brownie, all superb. So pleased you've reopened. Thank you!!
