First time back in about 30 years, still a great place. Really friendly atmosphere and a lovely pint from the wylam brewery. Bar staff made a point of saying cheerio when I left which was really appreciated. Will definitely be back. 10/10.

A great pub that has not changed since the last time I was in many years ago. The beer is still as good as it was. There's a good range of beers ales and lagers. It can get busy especially on match day but I would definitely recommend a visit

The Trent House pub near St James' Park in Newcastle is a gem for football fans. Its strategic location makes it the perfect spot for pre-match drinks. The lively atmosphere and friendly staff create an enjoyable experience, setting the mood for the upcoming match. The diverse drink selection and welcoming ambiance make The Trent House a go-to destination for a great time before cheering on the Mags at St James' Park.

3 staff on, 2 blokes, 1 lass. The lass was grafting away serving all the customers while the blokes ignored them, 1 chatting to pals and the other slowly washing glasses. Stood at the bar waiting to be served for ages the put my wallet away and went elsewhere. Shame coz this place used to be customer focused

I guess something happens when you become a middle aged woman visiting pubs... I used to have a good Craic with the staff in The Trent but this time, I could have been a puff of smoke. They literally couldn't regard me with less interest. They had to force themselves out of their comversation to serve me and my (also made aged female) pal. What happened? This used to be a great pub.

Pubs being pubs these days I feel everyone's out to pose with a drink as opposed to drink with a drink. This place changes that feeling to me every time I go I leave smashed not by binging but by pure quality peeve in my system. Match days are king here class staff and your guaranteed a wild weekend if you start on the jakehead 🤘

I've loved the Trent since I was a student, and whilst we don't get there so often now, I still love it! A great Newcastle pub, near enough to the centre to be accessible, and far enough away to be individual. A bit of an institution - probs one of the best five pubs in town

Very let down with our recent visit, as we had hoped the pub would have lived up to our expectations. Firstly, when we entered, I thought a local drain had broken, as the smell inside was terrible. It actually smelt like raw sewage. The toilets were swimming, and this was just an afternoon. Sadly the beer was also a let down, as I had to return my flat pint. Appears that the gas bottles needed replacing. Overall a letdown.

Visited Trent house prior to today's match to be faced with plastic beer glasses- for real ale - in a pub that brands itself 'world famous'. No consistency in the policy either as the lager-lads, of course, got moreti, etc glasses throughout. Give your heads a shake lads and get it sorted.

I don't want to tell you about this pub because it's a cool proper pub. It's a no nonsense place, that's well run, has great beers and not a bad toastie if you get the munchies. Great place to call in for a quiet beer, gets busy later on and is crammed and a good atmosphere on a match day. You can even play a retro game or two to take you back to your childhood.
