Even though this place can get busy, I love the food and drinks here. They offer plenty of options, but I especially go for the passionfruit drink and the steak. The breakfast is top-notch, and the prices are very reasonable too.

Came last night for my birthday, and was appalled by how I was treat. Tables were filthy and hadn’t been cleaned by anyone in hours. Ordered some drinks, showed my ID and was having a great time until the bouncer came over and demanded that I leave. I asked why and he gave absolutely no explanation, offered to show my ID (after he watched me hand it to the woman), and then proceeded to snatch my drink out of my hand and said I would receive a “life ban” if I didn’t leave at that moment. The “bouncers” need proper training instead of intimidating young women, and this isn’t the first instance I’ve heard of staff or bouncers making people, especially women, uncomfortable. Get it sorted. Needs to give their heads a wobble because wtaf!!! £16 down the drain for a poorly made pitcher and a cider. 🤣

A great place to breakfast and only a short 10 minwalk to the central station and near the Haymaket bus station. We'll laid out and as always a great menu and drinks on offer.Very busy I gather on evenings and popular with football fans with St James's Park a short walk away.

Just a Decent and Reasonable Pub..Good Prices for drinks and the bar staff and doorman are really friendly..A lot of people drink here then go to the City Hall to watch the groups...I hsve never eaten here so i cant really comment on the food..

Visited these guys on our way into town for a gig. We ordered our food and drink on the app so didn't really deal with many of the staff, but the ones we did come into contact with were really friendly. A very nice spot - decent food at a decent price.

I went in for a light lunch, coffee machine broken, and cheese and tomato panni let's say still looking for the cheese in it.

Excellent atmosphere and great prices for lager. Excellent for before the Newcastle match.

Can never fault the service in a 'spoons,i mean, it's a chain, but they have the fastest, friendliest staff... no complaints...app is brilliant

The Five Swans Wetherspoon ideally placed for Newcastle city centre. Drinks served here were good quality. Service good in a busy bar.

Came here for breakfast. I like the app ordering system, which is fast and efficient. I ordered the eggs florentine with unlimited coffee. The eggs florentine was delicious, with the eggs still slightly runny. However, I'm not a big fan of the coffee from the machine, and it would be good if there were better coffee options, even for a slightly higher price.

Maybe hand out maps so it's easy to find the toilets

Absolutely packed pub, found seats and ordered using app. Drinks arrived quickly (good selection) and food followed quite quickly too and all four meals served together. Really good portions and hot.

Used to really like this place but they've made it harder and harder to have an enjoyable time here. Over time less and less doors have been made accessible so everyone gets bottlenecked through the same tiny areas. And to make matters worse they then put entire tables and chairs in these tiny areas and walkways so you have no choice but to be in everyone's way. Most of the bar staff understand this concept but if you have the unfortunate luck of being in way of this aggressive blonde lady who pulls pints there then god help you. Most people politely say excuse me but not this member of staff, on multiple occasions when letting other people past this woman would push or get up in my mum's face. Mind if you want to be drunk and arsey they didn't seem to mind any of that just families trying to enjoy a quiet drink seems to rub them the wrong way I guess...

Called before and after a concert at O2, great value for money

Far too much chatting to customers and not just serving food and drink, had to stand for 20 minutes on a Monday for a pint. No iorder for regular drinks either? Very strange. And not once was my ID checked. Which is incredibly concerning

Amazing pizza, very tasty. Wine pleasant. Nice pub and would return, comfortable seating. Only criticism is the toilet takes some getting to upstairs.

Just a breakfast and a coffee. It was affordable, but you get what you pay for such as a few hours of grease on the pallet.

Low expectations for a Spoons as is the norm but after waiting ages for the bar (as the app wasn't working) and then ages for the 1 hot drink machine that serves a very big pub (dirty area and not topped up for sugar etc for a while) the Duty Manager mumbling a dish at the back of our heads then just dumping it on the table and walking off sealed the low score. The server at the bar was friendly though.

Good meeting place for food and a drink before going into town.

I walked in the side door, found the counter, ordered 2 ciders, enjoyed while paging through the magazine. Near empty, I ordered a chicken burger, which quickly arrived, and tasted great. Just got lost in a maze of ups and downs trying to find the toilet.

The staff got more chins than a Chinese phone book and look as if they ate more chips than in a Chinese takeaway. The place is an excuse for a pub and packed with geordie degenarates.

Food was nice but very Small meal portions. Adult portions where the same as a child's meal. My partner counted he had 15 chips on his plate altogether. When finished we put our plates in a neat pile and my partners plate was same size as our child's plate. If charging for an adults meal would be nice to receive an adult size portion.

Yes it was very nice. I met some friends & we had a drink first. They had some special offers wich were very good. We then decided to go inside for something to eat. It's basic but it's nice, I had scampi & chips, there was enough & it was nice. It was a really nice afternoon, reasonnable & spend in nice surrounding.

Good value for money nice pub outside space too. Lunch for family of 4 under 40 pound including drinks.

It was a really nice day so full window front was open and plenty of outdoor seating was available. Getting to the Toilet is a bit of a trek though!

Went in with Family for food and a couple drinks I got the fish and chips with the bread and butter must say would have again batter was lovely and had a nice glass of white wine to wash it down. will be coming back for sure.

took my partner and baby for some food while we were shopping for the day I had fish and chips my partner had a curry. Decent prices for a city centre spoons and the staff are more then helpful even with the pub being busy with the hot weather atmosphere was good lots of happy faces will definitely come back.

Ordered meal and they forgot to put chicken in it. So they said we'll bring some out. By which time the pasta had gone cold and the chicken was appalling. Cold, tough as old boots. The pieces of chicken looked like stuff I'd throw away from a roast. Just awful. The other meals were ok but this problem let everything down.

We sat in busy garden. Luke was so busy too. Always clearing and cleaning and he made time for us. So polite and professional. I think he might be a hidden talent they don't know they have. X

Few afternoon drinks on a busy friday service quick had to clean table of glasses ourselves and toilets are right on top floor

The lift to the main bar area was not working so my friend had to carry walker up the stairs to find a seat

A really lovely bar near the civic center and close to the Haymarket metro. The staff have great customer service and are always keeping busy, collecting glasses and keeping the place clean and tidy when not serving at the bar. Great quality food and the pub has two floors and plenty of tables. The decor is perfect and there are multiple picture frames of local north east history. I would say this is the best wetherspoons in Newcastle, and possibly the best in the North East.

Canny place to nip in for a beer

Staff were nice, free refill hot drinks, I think its lafa coffee they use. Twinings breakfast tea bags. Food was nice we had fish, chips & mushy peas.

Classic English food at the cheapest prices we've seen in a long time. It's right on the main street, which wasn't a problem for breakfast in the morning.

We love coming here because they're s different cubby holes and seating places to sit in you can also be out side which is nice all the the staff are friendly and helpful we definitely recommend people to come here

Very busy pub but service was still relatively quick using the online app, portion sizes for the fish and chips seems to have diminished somewhat.

My uni haunt, is a great spoons! After a few pints it also doubles as a labyrinth!

Great value food and drink. Pizza and unlimited tea, coffee or hot chocolate for approx £10! Or a couple of pound more for an alcoholic drink. Saturday afternoon was busy but we got a seat and the atmosphere was good. Service was quick and friendly.

This is what wetherspoons call a beyond meat burger, nothing like that which you can buy at the supermarket, it's a basic cheap tiny veggie burger, if your looking for beyond go elsewhere

More clear policy surrounding dogs is needed. Absolutely no signs stating no dogs allowed outside, so thought all would be okay. Many staff members passed and didn’t say a word however halfway through our drinks we were told we had to finish up and leave as dogs aren’t allowed outside. I would understand if it was an enclosed beer garden that you had to get to through the pub however it is all street side seating so why is this an issue. 0/10 not dog friendly.

A marvellous pint of Coors nice and refreshing staff were excellent too polite and courteous well priced too

Busy town centre Spooner. Wide cross section of clientele. Good efficient service. Great choice of ales.,and absolutely great value. Not much more to say, typical Wetherspoons.

A very pleasant Wetherspoons. It has recently been refurbished. One problem is the coffee machines. There are not enough of them. Today at certain times none of them were working. Customers were trailing up down stairs trying to get a cup of coffee.

Typical weatherspoons. Normal food. Three floors and small outside area. I sat on third floor. Everytime someone walked past the table moved, while i was eating! Old creaky floor.

Lovely staff and great place to visit on our skirts of Newcastle city centre parking is iffy but that's normal for Newcastle.

Quite good for a Wetherspoons pub. Very large building, lots of outdoor seating and a good choice of drinks. I know 'Spoons pubs have a bit of a habit of being a hike away and upstairs ... This place you almost need a SatNav!

Relatively dull atmosphere with rude staff. Food is decent enough and a good price.

Cheap as chips can't really complain too much, cutlery was a bit dirty and pizza slightly overcooked. You could not go anywhere cheaper to have good craft beers and half decent white wine.
