Just popped in for a coffee whilst visiting Newcastle. Lots of nice window seats in the mid morning sun, friendly atmosphere.

Didn't have food but bar staff where spotty dog

Low expectations for a Spoons as is the norm but after waiting ages for the bar (as the app wasn't working) and then ages for the 1 hot drink machine that serves a very big pub (dirty area and not topped up for sugar etc for a while) the Duty Manager mumbling a dish at the back of our heads then just dumping it on the table and walking off sealed the low score. The server at the bar was friendly though.

Good meeting place for food and a drink before going into town.

I walked in the side door, found the counter, ordered 2 ciders, enjoyed while paging through the magazine. Near empty, I ordered a chicken burger, which quickly arrived, and tasted great. Just got lost in a maze of ups and downs trying to find the toilet.

Really busy great place no continuity at the bar as in other weatherspoons but enjoyable and cosy wise brilliant for being in the town a need to get staff better organised but a good experience

Food was nice but very Small meal portions. Adult portions where the same as a child's meal. My partner counted he had 15 chips on his plate altogether. When finished we put our plates in a neat pile and my partners plate was same size as our child's plate. If charging for an adults meal would be nice to receive an adult size portion.

The staff got more chins than a Chinese phone book and look as if they ate more chips than in a Chinese takeaway. The place is an excuse for a pub and packed with geordie degenarates.

Yes it was very nice. I met some friends & we had a drink first. They had some special offers wich were very good. We then decided to go inside for something to eat. It's basic but it's nice, I had scampi & chips, there was enough & it was nice. It was a really nice afternoon, reasonnable & spend in nice surrounding.

Good value for money nice pub outside space too. Lunch for family of 4 under 40 pound including drinks.

Absolutely shocking not allowed to stand in the beer garden. Avoid at all costs.

It was a really nice day so full window front was open and plenty of outdoor seating was available. Getting to the Toilet is a bit of a trek though!

Was discusting, waited half a hour for the food , food was discusting burger was tiny , the portion of food was also discusting ,supposed to be a adults meal was more like a kids won’t be coming back here

took my partner and baby for some food while we were shopping for the day I had fish and chips my partner had a curry. Decent prices for a city centre spoons and the staff are more then helpful even with the pub being busy with the hot weather atmosphere was good lots of happy faces will definitely come back.

Went in with Family for food and a couple drinks I got the fish and chips with the bread and butter must say would have again batter was lovely and had a nice glass of white wine to wash it down. will be coming back for sure.

Ordered meal and they forgot to put chicken in it. So they said we'll bring some out. By which time the pasta had gone cold and the chicken was appalling. Cold, tough as old boots. The pieces of chicken looked like stuff I'd throw away from a roast. Just awful. The other meals were ok but this problem let everything down.

Canny place for food and drink

We sat in busy garden. Luke was so busy too. Always clearing and cleaning and he made time for us. So polite and professional. I think he might be a hidden talent they don't know they have. X

Few afternoon drinks on a busy friday service quick had to clean table of glasses ourselves and toilets are right on top floor

The lift to the main bar area was not working so my friend had to carry walker up the stairs to find a seat

Had a good night,great selection of low/non alcoholic beers ,I opted for the Guinness zero,very good prices

A really lovely bar near the civic center and close to the Haymarket metro. The staff have great customer service and are always keeping busy, collecting glasses and keeping the place clean and tidy when not serving at the bar. Great quality food and the pub has two floors and plenty of tables. The decor is perfect and there are multiple picture frames of local north east history. I would say this is the best wetherspoons in Newcastle, and possibly the best in the North East.

Great bar, fast friendly service, wide choice of drinks, toilets upstairs are a hike so leave with time yo get there ha ha.

Staff were nice, free refill hot drinks, I think its lafa coffee they use. Twinings breakfast tea bags. Food was nice we had fish, chips & mushy peas.

Canny place to nip in for a beer

Went in with family for a lovely meal of fish and chips. Batter lovely and crispy and chips nice and hot. Lovely atmosphere inside and windows opened wide as was hot out. Stayed for a few drinks before we finished our shopping in town.

Classic English food at the cheapest prices we've seen in a long time. It's right on the main street, which wasn't a problem for breakfast in the morning.

We love coming here because they're s different cubby holes and seating places to sit in you can also be out side which is nice all the the staff are friendly and helpful we definitely recommend people to come here

Very busy pub but service was still relatively quick using the online app, portion sizes for the fish and chips seems to have diminished somewhat.

My uni haunt, is a great spoons! After a few pints it also doubles as a labyrinth!

Great value food and drink. Pizza and unlimited tea, coffee or hot chocolate for approx £10! Or a couple of pound more for an alcoholic drink. Saturday afternoon was busy but we got a seat and the atmosphere was good. Service was quick and friendly.

The fish and chips here as a meal was out of this world well worth a visit staff are very helpful at all times

This is what wetherspoons call a beyond meat burger, nothing like that which you can buy at the supermarket, it's a basic cheap tiny veggie burger, if your looking for beyond go elsewhere

More clear policy surrounding dogs is needed. Absolutely no signs stating no dogs allowed outside, so thought all would be okay. Many staff members passed and didn’t say a word however halfway through our drinks we were told we had to finish up and leave as dogs aren’t allowed outside. I would understand if it was an enclosed beer garden that you had to get to through the pub however it is all street side seating so why is this an issue. 0/10 not dog friendly.

A marvellous pint of Coors nice and refreshing staff were excellent too polite and courteous well priced too

Busy town centre Spooner. Wide cross section of clientele. Good efficient service. Great choice of ales.,and absolutely great value. Not much more to say, typical Wetherspoons.

A very pleasant Wetherspoons. It has recently been refurbished. One problem is the coffee machines. There are not enough of them. Today at certain times none of them were working. Customers were trailing up down stairs trying to get a cup of coffee.

Typical weatherspoons. Normal food. Three floors and small outside area. I sat on third floor. Everytime someone walked past the table moved, while i was eating! Old creaky floor.

Quite good for a Wetherspoons pub. Very large building, lots of outdoor seating and a good choice of drinks. I know 'Spoons pubs have a bit of a habit of being a hike away and upstairs ... This place you almost need a SatNav!

Relatively dull atmosphere with rude staff. Food is decent enough and a good price.

Cheap as chips can't really complain too much, cutlery was a bit dirty and pizza slightly overcooked. You could not go anywhere cheaper to have good craft beers and half decent white wine.

What training have the staff had in customer care ? None apparently. They are wholly unaware of customers standing at the bar next in line waiting to be served... they will serve whoever is standing closest to them or their friends. Come on spoons ! Staff training must be a priority.

Attitudes of bar staff not great, customers were waiting to be served and were ignored. There were a few people in the group that commented on their wait at the bar with staff appearing not to acknowledge them. Lovely city pub but staff were not interested in serving customers.

Can never go wrong with a great wetherspoons

Lovely little place to meet, plenty of seats inside and out, clientele are mixed student and local punters, fair priced grub, wide range of drinks, beautifully located in the city centre. A great starting place for a night out with very affordable rates.

Had a few drinks here, great atmosphere, service fast, however taken a star off for the absolute trek to the toilets, always heard about Wetherspoons toilets being ages away up stairs etc, this is defo one of them, other than that, great place.

It is a wetherspoon so it's pretty much as expected food wise. Though the place was very busy we managed to get a table and the service was quick.

Myself and my two female friends stopped here for a drink after dinner and one of us brought her drink from the restaurant, unaware they were not allowed on the premises. She was told by a member of stafg that it was not allowed, so she told him OK, that she would finish and dispose of it. He didn't want to allow this and made a move to snatch the bottle from her. Naturally, she wasn't happy with this as the bottle was still about half full, so she asserted that she would finish it outside. She did so and disposed of the bottle, then came back and sat downstairs, thinking this would be fine now, as we had gotten rid of it. NOT SO! When we came back, the staff member, another member of staff AND a manager were stood in a corner GLARING down our group in an intimidating way, clearly trying to "catch us out" drinking from the bottle? Weird. A few minutes of this intimidation and the manager comes over and very passive aggressively asks if we have any open bottles from outside and we say no, he accuses us of lying as he had been told we had some (no, we told the staff member we were getting rid of it and it was now gone) which we disputed. He then threatened to kick us from the pub if he saw us with any more (which obviously we didn't have). Then for the next TEN or so minutes, the manager, original staff member or BOTH were stood in the same corner GLARING at us as we tried to enjoy our evening in such a threatening atmosphere over a misunderstanding that we corrected! Suffice to say this was NOT a good end to our girls' night out to be intimidated by two men who we had followed the instructions of and apologised. Spicy mango cocktail was banging though, hope they don't glare at us for ordering that too!

So busy hard to find places to sit great atmosphere service wasnt very good inexperienced staff cocktail pitchers were not great dont think had correct measures or mixes didnt even give you straws for your cocktails or ice bucket for wine shame but everything else was really good

Busy. Standing outside in the fenced off area, constantly pestered by doormen to sit down, a group of 8 of us, no seats. Asked for seats to be told there were none, but still hassled to sit and not stand. We just kept standing 🧍‍♂️

Located just around the corner from O2 City Hall, and open till late. We popped in after a gig, along with a load of others. Big place, but poor service (one of the bar staff was just plain rude). Like I said though, very convenient if you are attending an event at City hall. No idea about the food, as we were way too late for that.

Just ordered a small wrap, and it's the first wetherspoons meal I wasn't happy with.. no wraps for me again.. Don't get them. Cheers

Just popped in for a pint on a hot Thursday afternoon. Must be doing something right as the place was packed. And by the way probably the best pint of stowford press I've had in many a year

Quiet when visited during early afternoon. Excellent selection of well priced alcoholic drinks and competitively priced food menu.Good level of service by friendly staff.

Don't go if you like food, terible and the service worse, if you want a quick pint, fine enough.

Match day and although super busy the bar staff were quick and attentive.

After work went there to get apple juice and chicken wings, their chicken wings with Jack Daniel sauce is a must to try.

Visited on a Monday evening, expecting a quiet meal with colleagues but it was absolutely packed and we ended up sat outside in the cold and drizzle...pub is very close to O2 City Hall and gets busy early evening if anything is on that night (very expensive prices inside). Standard Wetherspoons...quick service consistent food and a battle to find a full ketchup bottle.

Rammed!!!! We went on a Saturday around 7ish before going to the city hall for a gig. Perfect bar for distance to the O2 but it was MANIC!! 3 Floors of seating and not 1 seat was available. The bar was 3 deep so took a while to get served and like most weatherspoons no music so it was just noise from everyone trying to talk over each other.

Lovely weatherspoons bit of a hike to the toilets but good atmosphere Lovely staff great for pre drinks if you are at a concert for city Hall.

It's a spoons, very much like all other spoons, 4 stars all round but 5 overall as it does what it says on the tin so hard to criticize really. Very handy for city hall pre drinks

Possibly a bit too busy to fully enjoy... although many people probably doing what we did - having food and drinks before going to 02 City Hall. Been before, much better when not choka.

Beautiful food, I got the 3 dishes for £14.95 and shared it with my partner. Well worth the money. The quality was outstanding. We got a 6” pizza each and they were delicious. Busy pub, but I can see why. I’d definitely recommend.

The plate says it all. This should not have even come out the kitchen there was no edible fish inside it was dry
