Everyone is nice and helps each other out. Nice sense of Community. The food is so so nice. Decent portion sizes as well and very good Price. For food and drink’s. so we stayed a lot longer. We have such a good time. We stayed up the road. We have been here 5 times this week. Very very nice. We will Definitely go back 👍

5* review the best carvery we have had in Brixham. So sad to hear the lovely owners and the amazing staff are leaving to start a new venture at Bayview entertainment bar. Don't worry though, we'll definitely be visiting you there for your great priced food and drinks.

Had certainly an experience at the Trawler. To start with we had to walk through a crowded bar full of drunken men shouting at the top of their lungs; that was fun. Then we sat in the “restaurant” which rather resembled a working men’s club with a pool table slap bang in the middle. Don’t go expecting A La carte or a proper restaurant here let’s put it that way. The meals when they came out were perfectly fine and good value for money. Baring in mind the food here is super cheap, my lasagne was £8 and it did taste homemade, so you can’t grumble at that and when you see prices that cheap, you know you will get what you pay for! It was fine. The hair in my salad though…not so appreciated. The pies my parents looked nice, just slightly anaemic on the top of the pastry cap. Looked white! The service was friendly but very lapse and seemed a bit lazy, one of the girls serving seemed lovely whilst the slightly younger one seemed to have an attitude. There was also a party going on in the bar so many people kept darting through the restaurant half sozzled. Oh and finally…one other thing to bear in mind, we were the only people eating at 7:30pm on a SATURDAY. I think that speaks for itself. To conclude, the food was perfectly fine and good value for money (minus the hair) and this is why I have given it two stars because I was surprised at the fact it was edible and tasted okay. But the atmosphere really lets this place down, it was dire and tatty, just seemed unkempt. The sort of place you wanted to walk back out of you know? But we didn’t, we gave it a chance. I Wouldn’t return unless it had a complete revamp.

We live locally and I'm ashamed to say we have never eaten in the trawler. It was a quiet mid week evening but the few people there were welcoming and the staff were super friendly. The food was excellent, all homemade and amazing value. We had such a lovely evening. I would highly recommend. My only regret is we didn't try it sooner!

CAME HERE for Sunday lunch looked ok when we looked on line.What a disaster.Greeted by woman in SLIPPERS said our name she walked off. So we went in. Children running riot with shovel,broom, and bottles water. No control by parents at all .Went outside into garden area was a mess it was awful filthy so walked in looked at food. We done a u turn and walked out. Like to now who writes the reviews. Must be blind.On pictures on web site at front of building lovely hanging flower baskets never saw one with flowers just weeds.

Food her is superb. The portions are really generous and well priced, so you might need to wear an elasticated waist 😉 . The lasagne was really meaty, and hunters chicken is really tasty. Sausage & mash really nice and the gravy is superb. Well worth a visit and nice one chef!

The last time I used this pub was November 2022 when I had fish and chips with sweet peas and it was fine but the batter was raw on the bottom of the fish which is where we start today ordering the meal fish and chips with sweet not mushy peas I informed them of the raw batter last visit and asked for it to be overcooked rather than raw – on delivering the meal I had mushy peas and scrapped my wife's on to my plate and she had the mushy peas I was informed the batter colour being a pale brown was fine and it was well cooked but on cutting into the fish a raw soggy batter covered the uncooked slimy fish which was unedible as were the half raw chips – I was told it would be fine as the boss was cooking well I suggest she goes to the Manor at Churston and see how a piece of battered fish is cooked I am sure Chris and john will be happy to take their order – just to finish when you provide a service and provide food sorry when the meal is returned untouched is not the right attitude no reduction in the bill or have a free meal net time just took the money and threw it in the bin – I will be happy to stand by this review and face any questions.

Visiting my sister in Brixham and needing a table for 9, the Trawler kindly set up a large table for us in the back room. The room and bar area were warm and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The chef was happy to pop out of the kitchen and give us a run down of the variety of food on offer and the specials. There was a huge choice . The portion sizes were generous and all the meals were hot and tasty. Lovely big fat chips. All nine of us ordered different meals and there were 9 completely empty plates ☺️.. thank you for making our family get together easy and enjoyable.

Great pub to go for a reasonable priced meal. Car parking and garden. Recently updated internally and very clean and tidy. Kind and helpful staff and very welcoming. Regular visitor to Brixham to visit inlaw. Pleased to see it has reopened and redecorated. Great for the locals and visitors and al place for get togethers.

A pub offering pub food at a very reasonable price. Set in a housing area so your find many local frendly people so dont let this put you off. It make a change from the high price over hyped restuants thats for tomorrow

We found that the atmosphere was excellent. Very welcoming and friendly. Entertainment (Disco) provided at weekends with other games and activities. The bar staff were again excellent - very friendly and helpful. Food was very reasonably priced with a good selection and service was again first class. Would wholeheartedly recommend this establishment. Many thanks. The Midlands Mob.

I'd very much recommend a trip to this pub. It's a cheap and cheerful typical pub. Very friendly and really great value for money on food and drinks. Typical pub food, burgers etc. A few good veggie options.

This pub has seen a remarkable turn around since the new management have taken over. Friendly pub, great food and a good atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

Having driven past numerous times we decided to stop for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. The menu should appeal to all tastes and is reasonably priced. Food was well prepared and well presented by friendly staff. We will be back !.

Me and my wife popped in for a quick bite to eat one lunchtime. The lunchtime menu seemed a little cliched and dated, but the food itself was far better than expected (the menu didn't seem to do it justice.). The food was prepared freshly to order - there was a bit of a wait on this, but it did seem that the lady who was doing the cooking was also trying to run the pub single handed, as well as popping over to the local shop to get ingredients that she had run out of. The main issue with The Trawler is that it is a typical, mid-estate pub that is far enough off the main drag not to pick up much in the way of passing trade, and is up against a clutch of "quaint", "Olde Worlde" type pubs that populate the harbour area. As a pub it is a little dated, and lacks any charm or character. This is a shame, as the food is actually nicely done, and is good value. In summary - The Trawler serves good food, but it isn't a great draw in itself and isn't near anywhere nice (like a park or the sea.) A good refurb combined with a targeted marketing campaign could help to reinvent the place as a decent pub/ restaurant. Go if you are hungry and are in the area.

In the last few weeks,I have eaten at many places around the bay.The Trawler is the only one I visited twice.The service was first class and very friendly,The food came out well cooked to my liking,and seemed quite fast after ordering.A wide range of choice on the menu along with specials board.In other reviews I saw comments about the men at the bar and colourful chat,all I can say is "local colour "the town is a working port,I'm sure other pubs also can boast locals "unloading a few choice words"after a day out at sea ! Yes the beer garden does look a little weedy,but it did not stop us having a very nice evening meal outside with the sun dropping and very little traffic on the road ,very peaceful and away from the guys sitting at the bar. I know I will visit again and dine well at this pub with great grub.

Everywhere else was busy so we ended up here. The food was very competitively priced and there was lots of it. Nice varied menu. Staff where friendly and helpful. The actual pub could do with a thorough sort out and clean. I don't think the gardens have been tended this side of the millennium!!!

Been here once or twice to eat and the food for the price is quite decent.The place itself is quite dull and at the moment is having a refurb which it badly needs inside and out.It is friendly enough but the only complaint is the men who sit at the bar , their language is deplorable you would think the management would have a word . Give it a good refurbishment and stop the bad language and it would receive more visitors.

Mudarnos de casa en un par de días, así llamado por una comida como todo lleno y no podía cocinar. El pub está buscando bastante gastado y viejo, pero claramente renovación de la loos y por lo tanto espero que esto continuará a través de todo el pub. Es una pena que tuvimos que caminar a través de un humo de GUB proponen ir, pero la camarera era lo suficientemente amable, y la comida era muy buena. Caliente, sabroso y muy buena relación calidad-precio. Desgraciadamente no hay cervezas de barril estaban disponibles aparte de botellas, pero yo creo que esto es todo que ver con la reforma. Sólo estamos avanzando localmente y sin duda volveremos para una comida estupenda relación calidad-precio y ver cómo el Arrastrero está reformado. Será genial si proporcionan una zona de fumadores, lejos de las puertas y traer algunas cervezas locales realmente buena!

We visited the trawler on their Thursday "Steak night" and we are very glad we did, We both had the 10oz Gammon steak and it was gorgeous, the portion sizes were huge and it was all piping hot ,the steak offer means it comes with a drink too so I had a glass of wine all for £8.95 , recommended with pleasure , thank you x

El personal es muy amable. Es una pena que la comida no era tan buena. Mi pedido bife de costilla y scampi el bistec era muy claro y no hay gambas. La otra era una lasaña que aunque era sabroso recalentados y hecha muy pequeña porción parecía comida para un niño.

Last Sunday 9 of us arrived for a carvery- we hadn't booked and were glad we got a table. Great selection of meats, roast & new potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, broccoli, carrots, parsnips, swede and home made gravy. We were really impressed with the service and friendliness and the food was amazing. We will be back!

There were six of us and after being let down by another venue, we arrived at The Trawler Inn for a meal and in spite of not ringing ahead and booking, we were taken right away to a table. The menu was varied and reasonably priced and after some deliberation, we ordered or meals and they arrived soon after. The staff were very pleasant and attentive.Having had a very enjoyable evening, we booked for their Wednesday curry night. Our number had now increased to ten after spreading the word and we duly arrived to be shown to our own alcove area. The menu was very reasonable and each meal came with a drink. We stayed until closing time.

Unfortunately we didn't find the trawler until two days before the end of holiday but we will be sure to make the most of it on our next visit. The food is amazing and great value , drinks well priced and dog friendly. Staff all friendly we loved it !

The steak night is fantastic. Really good value for money. Large car park which is unusual in Brixham. Great family pub.

obviously not together but seperate occasions a sunday for the roast and thursday for the steak, they were both absolutely delicious and worth every single penny.the chips with the steak are done from potatoes and not frozen. :D i dont know anywhere else that does this.atmosphere and staff are wonderful.great value for money.

Waltzed in around 8:30 and feeling in need of a feed,a fast glance at the menu and asked if the kitchen was still open ..Damn lucky it was ,so Steak and Ale pie,mash and peas...I was well fed and so happy with the taste/price had to write this rush review.I now am happy to know another place to eat in town,and look forward to another visit but without rushing my choice next time....
