Kim, Leo and Gracie were brilliant and provided speedy and friendly service!

This place is without a doubt the best around! Finished to a very high standard, Liz & her team run a good pub 7 days a week. The whole place both inside and out is spotless minute by minute, the drinks selection is awesome which includes a great choice of their own beers along with a regular selection of guest real ales, premium lagers and ciders. This is complemented with by the extensive back bar consisting of Fine Wine, Whisky, Brandy, Gin, Vodka to name but a few along with all the other wines and spirits served with high quality mixers as you would expect.

Stayed in the two bed apartment. Impressed. Clean. Above average quality of fixtures and fittings. Great rain shower. Good kitchen area and good range of utilities. Comfy beds / bedding. Plenty of towels. Nice welcome pack (milk, bin bags, Fairy, dishwasher tablets) Great base if exploring and free parking. Defo a 4 out of 5 for me. Good value too. Few minor points include weak WiFi signal unavailable outside of lounge. Sofa configuration means suitable for a couple only. The position of the TV in lounge is nuts.

A modern drinkers pub, nice facilities, parking and outdoor area. We brought our small team of 10 for drinks after work. Sadly let down by a couple of the younger bar staff on this occasion with zero customer service, poor attitude and unwelcoming tone.

Been going here for ages but our nervous dog is a bit barky. Apparently he upset a barmaid about 2 months ago with his bark and they told us about it 2 months later . That’s the end of our visits. Shame really because we used to go quite often and had the impression it was dog friendly .

They no longer do food here...😕but apart from that, on a sunny day, it's like being on holiday!

One of my favourite pubs in the area, not least of all because of the amazing views. Beer garden is ace on a nice day. I also had my 40th Birthday Party here, as I wanted to share the beautiful surroundings with my friends and family. The pub allowed me to book the bottom half of the pub out for a few hours. The staff were really helpful and allowed us to bring our own food. Thanks for helping to make my 40th really special.

Great place. Warm, cozy, great atmosphere, good pint, staff great. Family stayed in the rooms, which were great too. Lovely location. Only thing missing IMO is some food. A basic 3 by bar menu wouod add some real extra value and excuse to drop in/stay a little longer. Fabulous hidden gem for 'out of Methamers' cheers all. James and fam. X

A friendly modern pub with nods in style to the best of both the gastropub and traditional wayside inn. A well-stocked bar features both familiar names and a notable variety of local real ales, kept in immaculate condition. Staff always friendly, helpful and patient while I makes up me mind...

Went with some friends for the pop up Greece food event, fantastic food (which even had a vegan option, very impressed). Lovely place with great views and friendly staff. Plenty of seating outside if the weather is good with nice views of the countryside. The pop up food events are a great idea and even if the weather is poor it's lovely sitting inside with a warm atmosphere and lovely cheerful staff. Everything was clean and cosy, perfect place for a stop off on a walk.

Would love to leave a more positive review but after a short experience here it’s hard to. Firstly, as they last time we were here we were told they don’t do food, we thought we would stop and eat our fish and chips in the garden. Parked up, found a table outside, proceeded to leave my mm eating while I ordered. Despite asking the fist lady for a half and then the lady who took over the order for a half, I was presented with a pint. I asked if it was a half and was told no. Said I told you twice and was rudely told I wouldn’t know I was on the back. Um..ok. Then rudely said that she would throw it away, at which I suggested she put it in a half pint glass. To which the ‘barmaid’ replied- “suppose I could”. Then preceded outside to finish of the food and drink my gin. Oh no. Same lady followed me out about a minute later to tell me we couldn’t eat our own food in their garden. Mysterious how she didn’t know this before I paid for the drinks. Would have been nice to suggest we went and sat on the grass or at least finished our drinks but clearly service isn’t overly important at the Travellers rest.

Liz and the team are amazing, fast service, cosy pub.. The travs overlook the most beautiful views of the tranquil countryside. The beer is reasonably priced and always spot on, many guest ales on tap each week.. It's so beautiful in winter also with the two roaring fires and scenery outdoors.. highly recommend, you won't want to leave!!

Very nice spot for a drink. Came recommended. Lots and lots of outside seating with views across the fields and valley. Naturally gets busy in good weather especially. Good selection of real ale. Best nominate a driver if you fancy a few as the walk up to it can feel a long one! Would have been 5 stars and stayed longer if food was offered for sure.

This is a very cosy, comfortable and relaxing pub situated on the road between Meltham and Slaithwaite. It is richly furnished and has a very traditional fireplace as well so that people can stay extra warm and dry on cold and wet winter days.

I had a short break back in my home village, Meltham with a friend and her little girl. The accommodation was lovely, a great standard and everything you would need. Comfy beds and great showers added to the feel of comfort. The staff were lovely on both arrival and departure, Great walks from out the door, fabulous views across to the moors. Definitely recommend a stay here.

Beautiful pub with extensive range of real ales from Milltown brewery and several European lagers. Excellent service from friendly staff. In the summer the beer garden overlooks gorgeous rolling hills. Well worth a visit. Daughter and I stayed in the smallest of the holiday lets during the summer and loved it so much that we returned for Oct half-term. The apartment is immaculate, cosy, stocked with everything we needed for our break and very reasonably priced. Can't wait to return next year.

Another Mill Town brewery tap, good selection of their own beers and guest ales, its a good walk up the hill from Meltham ,there is a bus ( I missed! ) Friendly people as well behind the bar.

Great afternoon, evening and night at this extremely busy pub. Hiding from the extreme heat. Cracking Quiz on Weds at 8:30pm. Very friendly and welcoming. Lovely views of livestock and dry stone walls and hills.

This is the second time that we have stayed at the Travellers Rest in the Nab View apartment. The accommodation is just perfect for 2 couples with both bedrooms being en-suite. The apartment is furnished and decorated to a high standard with everything that is required for self catering. The Pub is on the edge of Meltham with great views. We have found staff to be friendly, approachable and most helpful should any issue arise. The pub serves excellent beer from it’s own small brewery with Timothy Taylor’s Landlord also being on the bar. If like me you enjoy a well kept pint of beer I doubt that you will be disappointed. The pub has a large outside area which is great for a summers day. We enjoy walking and there are numerous walks straight from the door, you can devise your own from the O.S. App or map or Google Meltham walkers. A little further on are Slaithwaite and Marsden with even more opportunities. The Travellers doesn’t serve food but there are plenty of options within a reasonably short distance, especially the Bulls head at Blackfoot Moor, a pleasant 40 minute walk away. If you enjoy a good pub, good accommodation with a great atmosphere then this place is in my opinion hard to beat. Set as it is in an as yet undiscovered and beautiful part of Yorkshire. Hopefully we will be able to return next year.

Large outdoor seating area which is lovely. Indoors is also nice, more open plan than it used to be which feels nicer and more up to date. A large selection of real ales if that's what you are into but also everything else you would expect to be available.

Fantastic ales in the most beautiful surroundings, the pub is cosy and full of character. I think they do holiday cottage type accommodation as well. Bar girl was friendly and knowledgeable. Well worth a visit

Love this pub best ales and beers

Travellers Rest in Meltham is always a great choice when the sun comes out. The beer garden is second to none with fantastic views across farm land and the Peak District. I went Easter Saturday as Rumpus burgers were set up in the car park, fantastic food with a pint. Bar staff there are always friendly and work well as a team on this very busy day. Will be going again when Rumpus are there again on jubilee weekend.

Spent a really enjoyable evening here with my family (my wife, three daughters and their partner's) Enjoyed a Rumpas burger and drinks. The pub was very busy but all the staff worked very hard to look after everyone, most enjoyable will definitely be back!!

We visited on Good Friday and we’re really impressed with the friendly and efficient service despite it being really busy. Loved the outdoor space with its fantastic views. A great atmosphere. We will be back

This is the first time we have visited the travellers rest and it will be the last unfortunately. The pub it's self is lovely and well presented and has lots of potential but this is ruined by the extremely rude staff behind the bar, a simple question was answered with a rude and abrupt response. I assumed the first person I spoke to was just having a bad day but after ordering several drinks from different bad staff it's clear that rudeness is embedded within the culture. The staff would really benefit from some training around effective communication

Visited for the first time with family whilst the Roaming Rumpus was there and the pub itself was lovely but the staff are incredibly rude! We spoke to 4 staff in total whilst we were there, mainly whilst buying drinks at the bar and 3 of them were so rude and abrupt that I will not be visiting again unfortunately

Stunningly impressive apartment, well equipped , immaculate and of a very high standard. The inn is set in a beautiful setting selling great real ales from their own brewery tap.Wonderful friendly staff can't do enough for you. Highly recommend 😃

Frequently visit the travs and I’ve never had a bad visit, the bar staff always make us feel welcome and the beer garden is great when the sun out. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area
