Henry's is just a half hour walk from home, and we like to come here for coffee and cake, or an afternoon/early evening drink. There are tables outside, and it was very pleasant sitting in the sun listening to really gentle music playing from the bar. The beer was on form, and the service was excellent; we were just thinking about getting up to buy another drink when a young lady asked us if we'd like another, and it promptly came - she even brought out the card machine so we didn't have to move! Wonderful, thank you!

Such a warm & friendly welcome. I called for an afternoon coffee & slice of cake (both very good) during a dog walk and we sat outside on the lovely new seating. The lady on the bar was really friendly and polite - offering my dog treats too! A great local spot and not somewhere I would have thought to call in for coffee but I’ll definitely do so again.

hired the lounge upstairs for my mums 50th surprise party and she and everyone there had an amazing time!! perfect size for a get together and all the staff are so lovely and can’t do enough for you. 100% recommend!!

Hosted a 21st for our daughter, perfect is an understatement. All the staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us.

Fabulous service and lovely atmosphere. The food is cake and nibbles rather than meals, but cannot fault this lovely little nook. Worth a visit.

I visited with friends, and we arrived not long before closing time. We were pleasantly surprised at how welcome we were made to feel, certainly not rushed out for hometime. The barman even came to our table to check if we'd like another drink before he closed up The drinks themselves were fabulous. And I'm pleased to note the change of owners now means there's a baby change facility in the bathroom, and children are made to feel welcome. I've since returned with my husband and two children and found that to be the case. Previous reviews had put me off trying this place out the last couple of years, but I'll definitely be back given how lovely it is now

A great friendly and light hearted atmosphere, relaxed - good choice of drinks. Henry’s is small but that’s good and they have nice space, both inside and outside, upstairs and down. Always enjoyable!

This is an absolutely amazing spot locally. Amazing drinks including some fab cocktails, delicious cakes, coffee and hot chocolate. Feels like drinking at home in a converted cottage nicely decorated. Staff are wonderful and it's always busy so you best be quick for a table.

Henry’s is such a lovely and welcoming, quaint spot. All of the staff are so helpful, nothing is ever too much trouble! We love coming here, and as do my two children (cakes and juices available are second to none!).

Hired the upstairs lounge at Henry's for my mums surprise 60th, had a fantastic afternoon Amy and the girls could not have been more accomadating and friendly. The lounge is a lovely size for an intimate gathering and was enjoyed by all our guests! Cannot thank the Henry's team enough!

Wonderful cosy bar, we visit here regularly with friends and it’s always got a great atmosphere. New owners have improved the decor, seating and toilet area. Great drinks menu, would highly recommend.

We had a lovely afternoon get together for our daughters baby shower. The space upstairs was perfect - warm and welcoming. The hosts were so attentive and friendly and nothing was too much! A fabulous afternoon at a fabulous venue.

Quiz night,on Thursday nights,this was our 3rd visit and can’t speak too highly of the place.Very pleasant couple behind the bar and waiting on,laid back atmosphere,very clean and tidy over2floors,good selection of hot and cold drinks,some lovely cakes on display,nice food at “half time” in the quiz,the quiz itself is not easy,nor should it be,but it’s fair test of general knowledge,it’s well run and makes for a very pleasant evening( it probably helps that we’ve won it a couple of times)😊

Stumbled upon this gorgeous little place whilst on a dog walk. Amy was so warm and inviting. The chocolate fudge cake is to die for and the coffee, fantastic. We cannot wait to revisit very very soon xx

So we’ve visited Henry’s before but this was our first experience under new ownership. I think you can say we liked it as we returned in under a week. The decor is fresh and modern. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The wine list is lovely and appeals to everyone’s taste. Lovely cocktail list. Wishing the owners lots of success. We will be there frequently

Newly reopened and so we had an unplanned visit midweek, great atmosphere and really enjoyed our drinks and some nibbles. Will definitely be going again soon.

What a delightful visit! Took my ten years old grandson for lunch. As someone dairy intolerant they couldn't have been more helpful. Freshly made paninis chosen from the menu meant safe ingredients could be selected to suit. My grandson enjoyed his Oreo hot chocolate too. Will definitely be returning.

First time here and I couldn't recommended it more. Cosy, cocktails are delicious, best nachos so far I had, very generous with proper meat and real cheese melted. Great time to visit as the Christmas decorations were lovely, you can tell they put great effort and gives you a sense of home. Also seasonal cocktails amazing, specially the Candy Cane! Staff very nice and polite, very welcome. Definitely recommended!

We had a fantastic lunch here today, such a simple menu but executed very well! I had a tuna sandwich in focaccia bread, brilliant value at about £6 served with crisps, coleslaw and salad. Service was great as soon as we walked in, the waitress who was at the bar and running food was lovely. Can't wait to come back and enjoy an evening there so I can test their cocktails!

Really homely, family run business. Smashing cocktails and light bites, in a super atmosphere. Service with a smile and very helpful in choosing a cocktail (ok cocktails) that we would enjoy. Would love to come back for the quiz night as we did them over the lockdowns. If you're in the area, it's absolutely worth dropping in for a drink and bite to eat.

Such a lovely place! Visited for cocktails and nibbles and the cocktails were honestly the best I’ve had! So many different options and chocolate cocktails with little sweet treats too. To top it off, the staff were so friendly and helpful with the cocktail selection. Will definitely be going again.

I went to Henry’s just before Christmas when they had a singer in and the atmosphere was incredible, great music and great choices of drinks. I even went back the next day for a bacon sandwich which didn’t touch the sides. 5/5 for this place, customer service was perfect don’t think anything could have made it a better experience.

I first discovered Henry's when I moved back to Kirklees and couldn't believe such a quaint little cafe was so local. I've seen some rather dramatic negative reviews from visitors with babies but - logically - why should such a tiny WINE BAR cater particularly...

Just returned from a baby shower at Henrey’s Coffee and Wine Bar. We paid £13 pp for afternoon tea. The food was fine - we can’t fault that .. but the service? It was non existent, not once did anyone come upstairs to ask if...

Great place. Tad pricey. Atmosphere good. As for complaining about baby changing facilities. Piss off . It's an adult wine bar / coffee bar. Go to Gregg's/ Costa or leapfrogs and see how you get on. Or better still get a baby sitter.

Excellent private gin tasting last night. Staff couldn't be more helpful and so full of knowledge about the gins. Half time platter of continental meats was good too.

I never thought I would be writing this review as we have spent many happy hours at Henrys, but I am appalled at how we have just been treated. Five of us - all regulars - had booked for the Gin Night - including my daughter who has a young baby who she is still breastfeeding. Unfortunately we found out today that her partner was having to work late so I texted to ask if we could have some where suitable for a pram. I received a lengthy reply making it quite clear that the baby wasnt allowed - as people had paid (us included!). We go frequentmy with my daughter's other two children and her baby - and their behaviour is impeccable. If the baby had started crying my daughter would have immediately removed her.

The fantastic atmosphere created by friendly staff meant everyone who came to the party had a wonderful evening and enjoyed thoroughly! Nothing was too much trouble and they were very accommodating! Came in for a drink at ten past 11 only to be rudely turned away and told they had stopped serving. I asked why the sign outside said 11.30 and bar staff sarcastically explained that’s our closing time not last orders. Shame as lovely little bar but offputting when you get spoken to like this.

Afternoon tea for 6. Booked and arrived at 1. Got teas and coffee at 1.30. Food arrived at 1.50. Why bother booking. Sandwiches ok. Half a scone already covered in jam and cream. Two small uninteresting pieces of cake. £13.50 plus service charge. What service. Waitress came once afterwards for any more drinks. Not busy . Won’t be going back. Worst afternoon tea ever.

We booked a table on a Saturday evening for drinks with friends. We arrived before 9 so was able to make the most of happy hour which offers a good variety of gins and cocktails. Good drinks and friendly staff. Great setting. Have eaten lunch here before which was also excellent. Lovely little coffee house / cocktail bar.

I have been to Henry's lots of times since moving to Skelmanthorpe in April 2018. On every occasion, I have been made welcome. And spent an enjoyable time there. The hosts are friendly and the food delicious. Seating is your choice inside or outside in the courtyard. A lovely place.

Visited here with my son for lunch and we chose the sharing platter. A great choice!! It was stacked with continental meats pita bread dips salad and mozzarella cheese together with sun dried tomatoes and various pickles. We really enjoyed every bit of it.

Booked an hour here Saturday early evening before going to a nearby restaurant. Staff were very pleasant and friendly. For 6 of us to have 2 cocktails each it was about £83. My watermelon one was lovely but wasn’t too impressed with the gin fizz. I expected the interior to be abit more up to date, but it was abit shabby and boring where we were sat. I would probably visit again on an evening to try other cocktails but not too bothered for food.

A welcome, relatively new, entrant to the otherwise rather dire Skelmanthorpe licenced trade offering. Now opening several evenings as effectively a mini-pub, in addition to daytime.

Went for the first time on 26th October for a birthday drink. As our neighbour, (15th) my husband, 21st) and me, (28th) has birthdays close together, we decided to go down that afternoon. We had a very pleasant couple of hours and the staff were lovely.

Disgusting behaviour from staff, who told a mother to change her baby's nappy on a toilet floor, then proceeded to chase her out of the cafe shouting that her kind weren't welcome there. Sort yourselves out.

Not even worth the 1 whole star. No baby changing facilities leaving parents having to change their baby's nappies on a dirty toilet floor. Rude and ignorent staff. Not to mention discriminatory over working class people. Is the working class' money not as good as higher class'?

Staff who chase mothers with young babies out of their establishment and hurl abuse at them should not be in business.

Although the drink was good, the level of hospitality from a particular waitress was not. Hostile from the outset - seemed to have forgotten her position as server - could do with attending a course in customer service.
