Centre Coffee in Kirklees

Amazing place. You don't have to be religious to go. The food is very good, and big portions. About the same price as eating at Costa, but with the food freshly made! And fast! I don't know how they manage it. The cakes are amazing, but this is my first time having lunch and my friends haven't stopped talking about it! We will be back soon.

Went yesterday, as we queued we were approached by a man "are you here for the choir", told him we weren't, he then told us it was open for the community outreach choir and wouldn't normally be open. Lady behind the counter said it was fine but in 20 minutes it would be full of people. We still got drinks but then felt quite uncomfortable as it was like we weren't welcome. Quite annoying as we checked the opening times on Google!

Eat here weekly and the food is great and service is quick and friendly.

I don't appreciate being accused of lying after coming in and collecting my takeaway order. One of your staff members chased me out the building and asked me not to park there again unless I'm using the café or cathedral, I politely told her I've just been in to collect my takeaway order which was 2x cheesy chips & a pulled pork sandwich to which she replied "no you haven't" with a big smirk on her face. Even after telling her my order (which was on my car seat) she wasn't convinced and at that point I told her to get back inside and go check with the lady that served me. I suggest you tell your staff to concentrate on their own job and not the parking officers job, completely put me off eating my food although I can't complain about the quality because it's always good! The staff that took my order and the member that brought me the food out was lovely though!

This is a great place for a catch-up over coffee & food - the food is always piping hot and delivered quickly.

Light, bright and airy, there's an option to sit outside at well made sturdy tables. Vegan option menu kept out of sight under the counter, must request to see it.

A gem of a place great food reasonably priced love the new look menu. Great service you don't need to stand and wait for your drinks they are brought to your table.

First time visiting here..will not be my last..Had a lovely texan filled jacket potato and salad to take away, it was very tasty and filling. It was quite busy but only 10min wait for my order.. Good reasonable menu and very polite staff 👍

Really great cake, best we have ever tasted. Great coffee just a little disappointed. We were very smiley and nice but one of the staff just wasn't polite at all. just brings down the experience a bit.

Been eating at this place a lot recently (pre-corvid obviously). Due to my allergy to yeast I find it hard to find a decent lunch anywhere I go. This cafe covers my particular need extremely well, as their wraps and loaded fries are amazing. The place has a nice a friendly atmosphere, and service is quick and efficient. Considering the high quality of the food, prices are very good value.

Visited several times over a number weeks,On both visits the eggs in the breakfast menu had burnt griddle remains on the bottom sausages were tough. Chips were very oily and soggy. Staff ignored me on a couple of occasions.

I had bbq wings and chips portions are big loaded fries are nice especially bacon and cheese and texen bbq. Nice and friendly staff.

What an amazing place! The welcome is always warm, the staff are really friendly - nothing is ever too much. They are 5 star hygiene rated so top quality food, at a reasonable price, most food is prepared fresh so worth the wait at busy times and for a little premium. Always a nice atmosphere, which includes a gift shop right next door. Parking is never an issue, and with accessible entrance and facilities makes the place very inclusive. Highly recommended on every level. Why not find out for yourself! 😎

One of my favourite places to go for an afternoon coffee or a lunch time catch up. Great food, great coffee and great service.

Went to soft play with granchildren and then had lunch. Food was very nice nut expensive for what you got. Children enjoyed their meals

We called in today for lunch and had a very pleasant surprise. It is situated throughout the bookstore and shop which is opposite the main entrance doors. We found it very relaxing sitting in at a table the cafe. The staff were really polite and friendly. The makup of their customers appeared to be happy and relaxed making it a great setting for lunch. My wife had a cheese and tomato sandwich, I had cheese bacon and lettuce toastie with chips. We both commented just how good the food was and how nice the setting. Well worth a repeat visit!

A hidden away gem, located behind the bookshop at Cathedral House. This is a great coffee shop that serves lovely food and even better coffee. Friendly staff, relaxed family friendly environment.

Been here several times, always the same friendly smile regardless of who is serving you. Good choice of food, great coffee, good choice of help yourself salad bar. Everyone always seem at ease when they come into the coffee shop. Prices sometimes seem a little on the dear side, cakes especially, but food is generally excellent.

We called for a quick toastie, has in town and in a rush . The brown one had a fair few black bits stuck on the underside, which we hadn't noticed until we started eating . They were very bland , the ham tasted a little wierd . We wouldn't go again sadly .

A good place to meet friends for lunch with easy parking and a good menu selection which includes Sandwiches, soups and jacket potatoes and salads. The salad is help yourself which I especially like. All very tasty!

First off - I am not a Christian - so no bias in this review about the location/setting. I use the Coffee Centre quite often when I'm in Huddersfield on business for a number of reasons. The food is good quality, freshly prepared and good value - the salad bar is always fresh and imaginative (I have a fondness for the jellied beetroot). The cakes are baked on the premises. The staff are polite, efficient and friendly. There is good (free) parking The atmosphere is calm and relaxed Occasionally the atmosphere can tip over into a 'happy-clappy/High-5' evangelical vibe; but this is the exception rather than the rule.

Inexpensive cafe to eat in.It is caring and caters for many on the Fringe of Society.The food is good and the staff helpful.

This coffee shop is very friendly-the staff serve you with a smile and make you feel welcome but unfortunately the prices are just too high and I don't feel you get value for money. The coffees are a lot smaller than your average coffee shop but are more expensive (good coffee though!) and the food you get a small amount for what you pay for. But all in all, if you don't mind paying extra then may be worth a visit.

This has become a regular meeting place to enjoy a lovely coffee and cake with friends and family. There is such a lovely, warm vibe and everybody seems really happy to be there. It is based in a church so you may have to pass a few bibles to get a seat, as it is situated at the rear of the church bookshop, which also sells a variety of gifts and cards. However, it doesn't really feel "churchy" so no intimidating crosses or stain glass windows, just a really friendly feel.

There is several things wrong with this place, the building has an industrial vibe and coffee is obviously the pretext to lure people in to the Church. Expect preaching and a vibe that is hard to place. Should you find yourself remotely in the area be sure to visit one of the nice coffee shops in the area that doesn't use subliminal messages and NLP to brainwash you as you sip. Avoid, avoid, avoid

Went To the Huddersfield & District Family History Society Fair. The Centre Coffee shop and restaurant is open 9am - 4pm. every day except Sunday. Had an excellent lunch, friendly staff and very reasonably priced. 1st. visit to Cathedral House. Will be going to this cafe again.
