DO NOT visit. I have just been left for over an hour following a food order with an 2 & 6 year old. When we chased food we were told 10 mins and 25 mins after that I asked to speak to the manager. With tables who ordered long after us still being served I was told there had been an issue in the kitchen and our food would be boxed for us to take on the train. It wasn’t! Reluctantly they gave me a refund for food but refused to refund our drinks. After I made a scene and said the fact they hadn’t even offered the kids anything to eat by 2pm was shocking the manager then said he would refund drinks!!! Even my train mad husband has said he will never return! Shocking service from completely incompetent staff.

We have had this station pub on our bucket list for a while of places to visit, and we were very disappointed. Turned up to only a choice of 3 pumps on the bar, we were very rudely told it’s because they don’t open everyday so they don’t see the point in having all pumps stocked. There was a certain bar man stood at the end of the bar who continually made rude comments to everybody that was ordering. Not a very nice atmosphere so will not be returning.

Walked in to be told by the barman "we're not open yet" 10 minutes later joined the queue at the bar 15 minutes later when asked do we order food here told by same barman "It's table service" there was nothing to tell the customer this anywhere . Sat down at a table waitress kept walking past us saying nothing, so after a good ten minutes looked on the phone for somewhere else to eat. Macdonalds was just a 5 minute walk away so went there and got a takeaway to eat on the train. I think the barman must be fed up with his job his attitude was terrible. I have told a director of that Railway.

My parents & I stopped off here for a few drinks when we were on our day out on the East Lancashire Railway last Friday.Very helpful & friendly staff, nice ales, I especially liked the Odin Blonde beer, shame that food was unavailable due to staffing problems, so we used the Buffet opposite, the outside area was where we sat & had our drinks, very nice & I liked the pub sign with the steam & diesel engines on it & the other railway art on the windows of the pub.Great place to have a pint & watch the trains come & go.Thank you very much.

Rude was appropriate, the young lady knew that we was running out of time to order a LAST ORDER but went over to serve local people at 9.14 .... so that meant we couldn’t get last orders , I’m not complaining about the beer ; that’s brilliant , but the service from the young lady who apparently was not meant to be there was very unprofessional

Six ex-work colleagues all had a socially distanced meet up and enjoyed a great afternoon drinking some very good beer. The first thing we noticed was the organisation inside the pub and also out on the platform, absolutely spot on and it was really appreciated. The safest pub I’ve been in since the restrictions were put in place. Secondly I would like to mention the girls behind the bar and the hostess at the door who welcomed customers and obtained details for track and trace, all fantastic ladies with great communication skills and a credit to the establishment. Good customer service doesn’t half enhance your experience when you are out socialising. Thank you for a very pleasant visit and keep safe everybody.

This was our first visit to this unique bar on a lovely day in Bury where we enjoyed drinks sat on the station platform on a busy Friday afternoon. They provide a good range beers, somewhat a bit pricey but in a great pub atmosphere. My only problem was when leaving after 4 rounds of drinks, spending 'big' money I was told this was a CAMRA pub that offer discounts on their beers. As a CAMRA member I was very disappointed, particularly when I had requested a 'taster' on one of their beers, something a CAMRA member would ask for. Obviously if we visit again I will show my membership card.

The Trackside is a quirky, fun pub on the platform at Bury Bolton St Station. It is fun to sit outside on the platform and watch the ELR steam trains go by whilst nattering to friends and enjoying a drink. Staff are always friendly and they have good beer and plenty of choice at reasonable prices. If you prefer to be inside, then the pub is cosy with plenty of seating and some interesting and amusing wall pictures and plaques. The only downside is that the Ladies Loo is only accessed by going outside and down the platform, not great in winter when it is rainy and freezing lol. Well worth a visit, you won't be disappointed.

The railway setting is rather special especially on a warm summer evening but in winter too. Good choice of real ales including some you will have heard of from established brewers [i.e. not stuff brewed in a bath in a garage in Ramsbottom].Good music , but not too loud so you can talk, and no T.Vs--why do most Bury town centre pubs seem to think we all want to see football ? And before Christmas they did not resort to playing those dreary ubiquitous unimaginative tunes --a real bonus.

My husband went to buy coffees whilst we were waiting to board our train for a lunch experience. He has a condition and whilst carrying the cups began to shake. As it worsened the scalding coffee poured over his hands and down his shirt front. A young man waiting on in the cafe rushed over to assist, took the cups away and walked with him to our table.on the platform. He came back a few minutes later with two more coffees and a black Trackside polo shirt for my husband Tom to change into. There is a good selection of real ales on offer, mainly from local brewers and you can sit and watch the trains go by as you enjoy your pint. I'll prefix this review by saying I have not eaten here, only had drinks. I go to the Trackside every time I visit family in Bury, it has the best real ale selection in the area. Very good prices on the beer and a great menu on the wall describing each of the beers to give you a good idea of what to order. With loads of tables directly on the platform it's a perfect place to enjoy a few pints with friends and family on a nice day watching the steam trains go by.

Nice pub, always been busy when we've been; could probably be something to do with the fact that it has real ale. You can access the pub down some steps from the car park but I think disabled access would have to be via Bury train station. Good atmosphere, especially when the Flying Scotsman pulled into the station.

The meat pie was lovely and the kids meals fantastic value. Lots of choices of drinks too. The ciders are particularly nice

Used to love going to the trackside but am disappointed with it now after the refurb. Not enough beer being ordered which results in the beer menu only being half full (management??????)

Anyone who is fond of real ale will love this place. Loads of choice from breweries far and wide and all at reasonable prices. There's plenty of seating both inside and out on the platform if you like to watch the trains roll by.

8 of us played this fantastic golf course with a great clubhouse with sky sports and a games room. The breakfast was one of the best I've had. We will be back soon.

I like the taste of Costa so call at the motorway services that have it. I hope they open more abroad as Starbucks have.

Came here for our daughter’s birthday. The food took so long to be served for 4 people, it was cold and not very appetising. Definitely would not return, very disappointing.

My first time visiting today and well, excellent doesn’t do justice!! The food was amazing, I had a mixed grill, steak cooked perfectly and the chicken was juicy and tender. Everything was piping hot and the staff were fab too!! Nice music playing to suit all tastes and it wasn’t too loud you couldn’t hold a conversation. Thank you for a lovely experience xx

Excellent home made food. Lots of choice and fantastic value meal deals. Friendly quick service too. Busy but not crowded with plenty of outdoor space.
