The Town House in Newcastle upon Tyne

Great little no nonsense cafe with a huge menu and friendly owner, perfect for a quick bite before catching a train. It’s a little bit of a blast from the past but in a good way.

Got Charged £6.80 for a jacket potato with tuna cheese and beans and an apple juice, the apple juice was for a child. Also jacket potato didn’t have beans on and the smallest ammount of tuna and cheese. So basically paid £6.80 for a jacket potato 🤨

Husband ordered tex mex burger and I ordered an all day breakfast. Latte was absolutely minging. Husband's burger arrived about 20 mins later, but my breakfast no where to be seen. I had to ask them where mine was so took another 10 mins or so. The whole plate was covered in beans and tinned tomatoes, toast clearly was soggy from this. Sausage was literally cheap and nasty, didn't touch the bacon as looked like leather. Been once before and was awful then. Definitely won't be back.

Me and the wife goes in here tonight orders a pizza (Admittedly good) and a Special chicken Kebab (Donner and chicken) We got the food home and I opened the kebab Ive never smelled anything like it I mean ive been a drunkard kebab eater all my adult life and ive smelled and ate some bad smelling kebabs takeaways think its ok cos your drunk and they can get away with it, (I wasent drunk tonight) I walked back in too the takeaway with my kebab and very politely asked for a refund or for it too be changed too something else The man asked what was wrong I told him.. He said im not replacing it as I had left the shop with it So I asked him too smell it the man smelled it looked me dead in the eyes and said "Theres nothing wrong with it" At which point my mood immediately changed there is no way on gods earth anyone smelled that kebab and thought it was fine! no way it must have been in the bane-marie for well over 2 days not fit for humans the fact they are happy too let that leave there kitchen is an utter disgrace and then have the front too argue with someone bringing it back!!! Needless too say I got my money back and I will never return, shame cos the pizzas are nice If he had just said "sorry mate here's your money back" this wouldn't be a bad review and he wouldn't have lost a good customer But his behavior not too mention smelling it then bare face lieing right too me. have precipitated this. AVOID! Oh and FYI £26 for a mixed kebab and a pizza is pushing it anyway for that price sort your quality out!

This is basically the best place to go for a decent pizza on a nite out in Newcastle. Decent range, including vegetarian, and some decent tables to sit at. Pizzas are a decent size and they do a Bolognese pizza, which is my favourite.

Went here for lunch whilst working nearby. Pizza was fab & top value thanks to the lunchtime offer they were still running. Not sure anywhere else in Newcastle measures up to this place for a quick, great value lunch - the staff were really friendly too. Thanks guys.

First fantastic full English breakfast, also has a full menu of varying different meals. Or you can call him for a cup of coffee or tea and they are very amicable. Very nice friendly staff that are willing to help with any eventuality from tourist information 2 bus and timetables. Well worth a visit and good prices even though it's in the centre of Newcastle. very close to Newcastle Central Station.

Von einem Besuch dieses Lokales würde ich dringend abraten. Von unserer Reisegruppe haben sich dort zwei Personen einen Magen-Darm-Virus eingefangen. Nie wieder würde ich dieses Lokal betreten. Ich kann nur dringend raten einen großen Bogen um dieses Lokal zu machen.

I took a walk into town whilst working in Newcastle & was handed a leaflet with details about their lunchtime specials: any small pizza for £2.50, medium for £3.50 & large for £5.00. It doesn't look much from the outside but the staff were fab (the lady behind the counter directed me to the cash machine in the nearby Metro where I could get some cash without paying a fee). I had my lunch here, medium veggie pizza & hot chocolate, for two days on the trot & loved it. I'd definitely recommend this place for a top luncheon deal.

The Town House does the best all day breakfast in Newcastle. Period. I have been here countless times, on lunchtimes from work for a pizza, fresh off the train with a hangover, just passing for a sandwich, even on a night out for a kebab. I have never been disappointed. Really good value, tasty, fresh food. No pretence, no bull, which is something I really appreciate in a cafe. They also have Stella on tap, which is always crisp, clean and cold, and goes down lovely with an all-day breakfast or a lunch. Service is always fast, friendly, and the place is always clean, hence why I say, a greasy spoon, without the grease. If you have just got off the train, or you're on a night out, or you're after a cheap lunch and you're in the vicinity, go here. You will not be disappointed.

We go there for lunch quite often and the owner is so lovely. The pizzas are the best in Newcastle too.

My family was visiting Newcastle and stopped in for a quick dinner. To my surprise the pizza was GREAT! As I mentioned how good the pizza to the owner he said the crust came from Malnati Pizza of USA Chicago fame. The folks that work there were nice and served great food.

Popped in after night out. Tasty pizza, fab cheesy chips and garlic sauce! Fun atmosphere too.. definitely will return as lovely friendly staff! Young Lad behind counter is gorgeous.. awesome hair!!

6 of us went in as we came down from Edinburgh for a weekend. Large kebab was tiny. Chilli sauce was like tomato sauce with spice in. Red cabbage was just pickled. Sour taste. Pizzas were tasteless and as thin as a piece of paper. Also we all hated the way the owner on the counter thought he was funny. He was just very rude to the customers and his staff. You don't shout at staff in front of people. Don't go it was awful. X

Near to the station. Bacon bap with tea for £2 perfect. It's a greasy spoon yes but sometimes that's all you need when your nursing a hangover waiting for your train.

I use the Town House occasionally at lunch times (mostly take-away), it isn't the prettiest of venues, but the food I have had from there has always been good. Just finished a beef and onion sandwich, which wasn't your normal pressed beef, it was lovely!!

Pedimos un Kebab de pollo con patatas fritas y un donner. . Llegó a 14.. 00 Esto es lo que recibimos! ! (Ver foto) si hubiéramos de abrió allí y luego me exigía la restitución de! Y era repugnante el kebab de carne y patatas fritas eran era nauseabundo hard rock! Conseguimos absolutamente estafado! ! Que se permite shudnt escapar de hacer esto! Parece por otras reseñas esta no es la primera vez que han desgarrado personas descuento! !

Este lugar era absolutamente asqueroso. Por la noche llegó a Newcastle cumpleaños y, como no, esperábamos caer en la pizzería local/kebab shop. Mala suerte para nosotros, bien este lugar puedo llamar lo que sirve comida. Así llamado "Pizza de pollo barbacoa 10 salió a las 7" y parecía que la habían hecho usando un tortilla y los bigotes. Mi amigo me cobraron 3 libras por 7 chips no queso, básicamente una bandeja de mayonesa de ajo. El lugar estaba sucio y el personal eran extremadamente dispuestos a participar en cualquier tipo de conversación sobre el estado de la comida. Evitar EVITAR EVITAR.

Pagamos 3 libras por 7 / 8 chips con casi ningún queso. . Fue dejado hambrientos!. Mi pal pagamos 9 libras por una "pizza" que pareciera una gran tortilla chips con una pequeña cantidad de carne de gato kitty. . Totalmente asquerosa. U sea para pasar un centavo aquí! También pregunta las normas de higiene. Procedimiento de quejas ninguna existía. No comer aquí: /

Not a lot to look at, but serving excellent food at very reasonable prices. The Breakfast consisted of Toast, Sausage, Bacon, Beans, Tomatoes and Mushrooms, plus Tea or Coffee. Excellent value at £3.50 and a good start to the day.

Tuvimos un desayuno encantador inglés con taza de Earl Grey, era selección sorprendidos de té.

Este restaurante/cafetería es realmente agradable. Que intenta mantenerse dentro de un presupuesto. Me cono aquí una vez a la semana y el personal no podía ser más amable. Ahora estoy aquí sentado escribiendo mientras tomaba el desayuno y hay un ambiente agradable con todas las que son costomers mucho más agradable de lo que esperaba. Este restaurante/cafetería tiene un servicio muy bueno y me refiero es servicio rápido

El mostrador muestran restaurante es como un felpa francesa boudoir, no cayó como en un restaurante público.

Un bocado a un precio absolutamente ganga en el sótano. La decoración es estudiante" - destartalado", tal como ha sido diseñada sucio pero es ruinoso (como he dicho), pero quizás deliberadamente, así limpio y mi rápida chaqueta con chile era Spud más grande y mejor que el precio ridículamente bajo sugirió. No es para aquellos que vayan a ser visto "lugares", pero por el hambre es un dios.

El Town House (anunciado en la calle por personas de pie con tablas) es extremadamente conveniente para la estación central - un minuto al otro lado de la calle - así que es perfecto si estás buscando un café o una comida a la llegada o barato esperando un tren. Los precios son increíblemente baratos y la cafetería sirve una buena variedad de 'básico' incluyendo desayunos, pizzas, hamburguesas, patatas fritas, patatas chaqueta, una enorme variedad de sándwiches fríos y calientes, curry, lasaña, etc. La selección es enorme, un servicio amable y un ambiente alegre. La cafetería está limpio y que creo que es una buena relación calidad-precio para lo que ofrece, lo cual es bueno.

Ze promoten met borden dat ze het beste breakfast van de stad hebben.Een full english breaksfast voor 5pond is in ieder geval niet veel geld.Maar helaas is de kwaliteit naar mijn mening zeer matig.Het bord ligt vol met tomatenpuree waarvan het lijkt of het zo rechtstreeks vanuit het blikje op het bord is gegooid.De smaak was ook allemaal niet bijzonder.En bij een full english breakfast verwacht je toch iets van koffie of thee erbij, maar helaas geen drinken erbij.Geen aanrader dus.

Dropped in to escape the rain on our way to the train station. Had 40 minutes to kill and ended up having a bite to eat. The 10 inch pizzas were only £2.50 each and much nicer than we were expecting.Staff were really friendly, food was provided quickly and was piping hot, and drinks were very reasonably priced.It's not the Ritz and doesn't pretend to be, just decent food at affordable prices, served with a smile. Will certainly try the breakfast next time I'm in Newcastle overnight.

excellent food, clean and efficient cafe, welcoming and friendly,fab location either before or after a train journey..or lunch break if working in the city...we visited twice this week and left relaxed,warm and full up xx Albert is the perfect host and an excellent chef!

Been coming here for months now, great staff and an ideal place to pop if your waiting for a train and want to get a warm. Great coffee and breakfasts at yesterdays price.

Just round the corner from the thistle hotel your find the town house we had two night stay in Newcastle and was recommended the Town House for breakfast, excellent value for a fry up..

This place is in a good location handy for the railway station and not far from the Centre of the city. The food is very reasonably priced and tasty.

Me and a mate were visiting Newcastle and wanted something quick for breakfast. Found this near the railway station and it was just the job. Typical cafe fare, but quick and very reasonably priced. e.g a sausage roll, a bacon roll, a coffee and a pot of tea - £3.75 the lot. Fab! Look out for the lad standing outside the cafe with a sandwich board. If we hadn't seen him we'd have walked past and not realised it was there.
