This place has great atmosphere, service and fabulous food. The menu has more than enough to choose from and the quality of produce and presentation was very good. For those staying in the hotel, the french toast for breakfast was very good.

High quality foods and a really polished interior and exterior. Busy on warm days as there's extensive outside seating. Later in the evening (7-8) music is turned up and can be a little loud if you're planning a quiet dinner.

Stopped off for some lunch after a round of golf. Really impressed with the food we had. We ordered the Mile Grazing Board and 3 of the small plates for £14, everything was delicious!

Ideal for the kids school leaving party. It was nice to see them all having an excellent time.

Comfortable busy pub.good vibes and good food

I came in last week with my family that were down visiting. We had a lovely and Charlotte, the waitress that served us, was so kind and welcoming. She made sure to ask about allergies which is important for us as my brother has severe allergies. The competent and professional manner she dealt with this put our minds at ease. She is an asset to the company! The food was delicious. We will be coming back for another visit due to the impeccable service we received.

Never had so much cheese on a pizza, far, far too much, and not hot enough. Chips were not cooked 100%.

Loving the return of 'the button' so far we are 1x free drinks and 2x 20 percent off for three goes.

Used to be much nicer they used to have proper hand soap and moisturiser to use in the bathroom, now they have cheept soaps mixed with water to wash your hands it's horrible... Food was good though.

Food was beautiful.. slightly expensive for a pub, but worth it! Bit disappointed they no longer do the banana colada as its not on the menu no more and the cocktails they've chose for the summer menu are quite disappointing as there all very similar... asked for well done steak it came medium but was still lovely... staff really nice 👌

A very early lunch. Place was fairly empty so service was good and food delivered very promptly. I chose a Guinness which was ok for English and haddock. Served with thick chips and homemade tartar, peas and curry sauce. Hot, well cooked and tasty

shockingly slow service, waited approx 10 mins for 2 pints, 2 cocktails and a lemonade, meals were okay, then ordered 4 desserts and 2 pints, 3 desserts arrived then waited 15 mins and we still never received drinks and last dessert ended up canceling and asking for bill which took another 10 mins to receive. incredibly slow

Took a long time for the drinks to arrive. Food was nice but unfortunately they didn’t bring one of the pudding’s out with the meal. We were told it would be 2 minutes, 15 minutes later once everyone had finished we cancelled the pudding along with two drinks we had been waiting 15 minutes for too. We were thinking we may have had a little discount for the waiting and having to cancel some of our order due to the waiting time but we didn’t. The bar was very quiet, staff standing chatting so cannot understand why service took so long when there was time to chat.

Bar staff was very young, inexperienced and a bit miserable.

We came here for a work night out, I have ordered the seafood sharing platter for £28. It's supposed to be shared, everyone thought it was going to be a massive dish... However, I have managed it as one main course by myself. Shame on the portion size! My colleagues also ordered a rump steak and a chicken burger. The cheese cake does look fancy!

Great Doughballs starter which are like little pizzas. The garlic with tomato are the nicest. The seafood sharing platter was good with a fair selection. It was a little quite so not much atmosphere compared to the bustling bar

Ate twice at Three Mile while on a visit to the UK & a 5-night stay at The Great North Hotel (on premises). Visit 1, party of 6 - Tuesday Jul 25: Tandoori Chicken Flatbread was FANTASTIC; steak was tough & rubbery; Kerala Coconut Curry w/ cauliflower + added chicken + rice was excellent. Visit 2, party of 4 - Fri Jul 28: unfortunately, we waited the better part of an hour for our food. Not enough servers, and it was extremely noisy (busy celebratory evening). Manager came out to discuss and offered a free round of drinks along w/ heartfelt apologies - absolutely lovely manager. I apologize, but I did not get her name. Curried cauliflower was missing mango sauce, fries & the salad greens I had requested - all which the manager immediately brought out. Again, the Tandoori Chicken Flatbread was OUTSTANDING, w/ a very generous portion. It was like a huge pizza with very imaginative toppings. Highly recommend this restaurant. Would like to reiterate that the manager was truly great and is an asset to your establishment. With appreciation, from Toronto, Canada.

Xmas family lunch £80 per head. If you advertise Xmas lunch for this price you need to be able to pull it off. Sadly the three mile fell well short. It was chaotic & disorganised. Starters arrived 50 minutes late. Main meal was good.however this was followed for most of our table with a very poor desert which was left uneaten as it was an inedible rock hard chocolate brownie . The whole experience was probably worth £8 not £80.

Booked Christmas Day Christmas dinner for the family, really looked forward to someone else cooking this year £80 per person. The food was 5/10 so unprepared no staff, food warm and sweet clearly had been in the fridge pre made so hard .. so disappointing!! We will be home cooking next year wouldn’t recommend over priced and need staff!!!

I had a table booked, several weeks in advance,for 6 people as part of a Christmas celebration. When we arrived we were left standing, waiting to be attended to for around 10 minutes. We asked for assistance from another member of staff who said "he couldn't help me." Eventually a young girl helped us who stated "someone has used your name and taken your table". She confessed to not having "a single clue" how to work the computer. Her manager came over and said "I've given your table away. That's where you should be sitting" pointing to a table in the pub eating section. She told me to "hold on a minute" and cleared a table in the main pub. We were left waiting for a good 12 minutes, my in-laws are in their 80's. No apology at all, infact rude and dismissive. Being close to Christmas on a Saturday night the bar was loud and busy. They gave us a table next to the toilets and a door that banged loudly every time staff went through to the main restaurant. Still no apology and we were told "menu's on the table." I was assured on the phone the entire menu's would be on offer however this was not true. I asked for the pizza menu and a rude, hassled unhappy bar staff put them on the table. We waited ages for someone to take our order but no-one came. we decided to cut our losses and made a get away. Rude, unhelpful, didn't communicate effectively, little insight into customer care. A good example of how NOT to treat your customers. On a positive note we did end up having a beautiful meal at the Ridley Arms in Stannington. This I'll give a fantastic review!

My first time at the Three Mile and I couldn't fault it. I chose fish and chips with curry sauce and mushy peas ...... beautiful. Not one negative mark from me. Others in our party had various pizza's, all looked lovely. I had cheesecake for pudding which also was perfect. Service was good, polite staff. A great afternoon that I would definitely try again.

Popped in for a coffee with friends. Lovely coffee with a biscuit. Happy helpful staff. Wonderful service. Will definitely go back and try the food next time.

The pie I had was too salty, but my family all had nice meals. Fish and chips with curry sauce was nice as was the chichen gyros. Was a Saturday afternoon so atmosphere was a bit laddish and shouty. It was ok but I thought overpriced for what it was. Dessert said it cane with ice cream but cane with orange sorbet. This may just be the season of cost of living crisis we're all in! I've been to worse, and I've been to better

Good night at their turning the lights on event. Really busy and some great local businesses had stalls inside, some fantastic deserts from "The Cakery".

Great place, ideal for my elderly disabled father. Easy access from carpark, plus easy access to disabled toilet. Staff were excellent and accommodating to his needs meal wise.

Visited today (03/11/23) with Friends for a light Lunch. We ordered 3 Gyros and 1 Fish Finger sandwich, all the food was lovely. So we all decided to order a sweet. " Sticky Toffee puddings and 1 Apple crumble served with a small jug of custard. I deiced to have a chesseboard. Only to be told once it was paid for they did not have any speciality cheeses so there fore would refund my money.That at a lunch time there was no speciality cheeses. available.Yet they still serve a Four Cheeses Pizza. Surely for todays standards something so simple they should have sufficent stock. Our group of friends just shaked there heads and walked out. UNBELIEVEABLE

Waited for a while to be served at the bar. Granted it was busy but a few staff just wandering around. After placing our order it was about 40 mins before we were told that one of the dishes wasn't available and had to choose another thus resulting in another 30 mins delay. When food arrived we then had to ask for a knife and fork. Food was good but very slow service and because of this sadly won't be returning

When buying drinks at the bar…check the prices…always! It’s not as if the staff are rushed off their feet-today there was more staff than customers. Be warned!!!

Visitamos las 3 millas con la familia para el almuerzo del domingo, solía ir bastante regularmente hace años, scalinis, etc. pero no han sido por un tiempo, así que esperaba cosas buenas, ¡qué equivocado estaba! La elección de la carne era buena, pero 2 patatas asadas, ¿en serio? Teniendo en cuenta la elección de verduras, me pareció un poco descarado teniendo en cuenta el precio, no puré de puré, brócoli duro como la piedra y el cauli probado vil. Intenté pedir postres dos veces y me dijeron que en ambas ocasiones no tenían lo que queríamos, ¿por qué anunciarlos si no los tienes? esto fue 1. 30 no a las 4 p.m. Realmente decepcionado y no volveré.

Hamburguesa de bacon de barbacoa fue muy agradable. El arroz a la parrilla y la caja de arroz picante estaban bien. Arroz picante pero no sabroso. El repollo de la casa era repollo rojo y sin sabor. El pollo no estaba a la brasa, sin marcas de barras, por lo tanto, el sabor en general no era el esperado. Bonito pero no más. Visita de regreso = poco probable.

He visitado este establecimiento en muchas ocasiones y tuve un gran servicio y comidas, lamentablemente no podría recomendar este establecimiento. En mis dos últimas visitas, el personal parece carecer de la gerencia, ya que nunca se dan cuenta de quién se ha acercado al bar y del servicio de espera; si no tienen que mudarse, están contentos de que usted se acerque a ellos y lo atenderán, pero si no estás delante de ellos, olvídalo, no existes. En nuestra última visita no estaba exactamente lleno y en la primera visita al bar nos sirvieron pero no pedimos comida ya que durante los 45 minutos que estuvimos allí no se borraron las mesas y se dejaron comida y vasos en las mesas. Después de 5 minutos en un bar razonablemente tranquilo, nos ignoraron, mientras que a las personas que acababan de ingresar y se ubicaron frente al personal se les atendió, no hace falta decir que nos marchamos se llevaron nuestra costumbre a otra parte. la gerencia necesita controlar y aprender el oficio de hospitalidad.

No habíamos estado aquí por un tiempo, pero una hermosa tarde soleada justificó la caminata y "presionar el botón".

No había estado aquí por años, así que acepté reunirme con algunos ex compañeros de trabajo para unas cervezas sociables y de inmediato me llamó la atención qué consejo tan absoluto es el lugar. Sí, hay trabajo en el piso de arriba, pero los asientos están rotos y desgarrados, falta relleno, y las paredes y las alfombras parecen haber perdido una batalla con una manada de toros furiosos.

The staff in the mile are amazing very helpful and pleasant and nothing is ever too much trouble. Its a very welcoming bar with a great atmosphere.

Food was disgusting couldn’t eat it all you could taste was grease on everything as for there veggie burger it was a bun with a mushroom inside and cheese. My mum ordered the chicken pie and couldn’t even break it open.

First time I've been to this pub...will surely be the last.

Despite passing it thousands of times we hadn’t visited the Three Mile for over 30 years!

My wife and I visited this pub on a Saturday afternoon for a drink, we stood at the barwhich was nice waiting for about 5 mins to be served, looking around their was only half a dozen other people in so wasn’t busy, the barman came up to where we were standing whilst in a conversation with another member of staff swearing his head off cursing his job and apparently he doesn’t get paid enough for this sh... we ordered our drinks and continued to stand at the bar counter, I have to say the language used by that barman was horrendous I even asked the barmaid if she would tell him to stop to which she replied “he’s always like that” I believe he was called mat or Mathew if you ever visit this pub and he is in make sure you take some ear plugs, hasten to say we left and will not be returning. There is no place for someone like that to be working with the public!!!

Myself and s few friends popped here last Friday , the staff in the three mile were pleasant and helpful ,, no problems there , we then decided to head to the on site Italian restaurant Scallini s , the service was awful , our waitress was quite rude at times and the food order was wrong, on the plus suds all the food was lovely , so compliments to the chef and kitchen staff , would I go again ? Prob not due to the service

This is a suburb place for a drink or a bit food. A relaxed atmosphere with no trouble even at the busiest of times due the excellent manager Mark and his door-staff. Recommend to everyone

Called in on my way back from Scotland, thought I would kill some time and let rush hour pass by stopping to have some dinner. When the food arrived it didn't look very appetising and I nearly said something to the waitress, but I didn't want to be judgemental without at least trying it, well I couldn't eat it, to be honest it was totally inedible! I didn't want to cause a scene and approached the waitress and asked her to take it away and issue a refund. I was supprised when she immediately asked to change for something else on the menu, when clearly the chef has proved incompetent, after all the is scampi and chips, hardly a difficult dish. I stated once again that I would like a refund and the waitress directed me to the bar, I proceed to make my way to the bar to speak to the bar lady as the waitress was not able to make any decisions, When I spoke to her she seemed quite defencive and even asked to see the food. She then just looked at me blank faced, I took this to mean that she wanted me to go and fetch it! from my table and bring it to the bar! quite comical. She then took the food into the kitchen and I was left waiting for 10 minutes, when she came back she told me the chef said it was fine and I can have a free pint and that was it. Talk about no shame, shocking. I just walked out, glad I took a picture of the food as evidence.

The food was cold, clay cold, chef said the meat was top notch and then said he had run out of Turkey, no crackling for the pork and the beef was dry as old hiking boots. Veg was cold and the splash of watery gravy did not help. When I complained to the waitress she just said " oh ok I will tell the kitchen" there was no mention of a refund or an audience with the manager. Disgusting ! The family next to us also complained that their food was cold but no one seemed bothered, it was Mothering Sunday and their excuse was they were busy.... unbelievable...do not dine in the pub.....

I looked at the menu online before making a booking and I sort of decided that I would have Fish and Chips when we got there. Being a Saturday night the bars were heaving and very noisy but the attached restaurant was quiet in comparison. Got the menu - No fish and chips, asked the waitress, no fish and chips! There was monkfish scampi................... so my husband had lasagne and I had a burger with onion rings and salad. My onion rings were very greasy and there were a couple skewered on top of the burger bun leaving a grease slick across it. My husband commented on underdone pasta sheets in his lasagne and a rather acidic tomato sauce. My husband had mango cheesecake and I had panacotta with fruits which was tasty but rather heavy on the blackcurrants. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to decide to want to eat something in advance.

Called in for some tea on Wednesday the place was pretty quiet so got a table & ordered some food i ordered the Bacon Burger the wife had the steak pie my daughter got the Fish & Chips & my son got the pizza off the childrens menu which came with a desert of ice cream.We saw the waitress walking round with what looked like our order she came over & asked if wed ordered food we said yes & she said we'd given the wrong table number she then realised the tables had been moved.The food was absolutely delicious thats why we keep going back & we done really well on the Push the Button aswell so it turned out to be a cheaper night than what we thought.I was really surprised nobody came to check everything was ok as they always have on previous visits & the table wasnt cleared when we'd finished our food, plus my sons ice cream never turned up Luckily his pizza had filled him up.

In some ways the Three Mile is one of a kind. Huge venue "3 miles" from the City Centre but also slightly isolated from Gosforth High Street. Renowned for its "push the button" happy hour which has been kind more often than it's been cruel to me.The refurb it had was needed and works well. We popped in on our way home on NYE (early in view of our age). Place was busy. Plenty of drinks choices and prices reasonable. Naturally a few had previously done well on the "button" and it showed.Mainly full of the younger generation but worth popping in because a) it's different and b) it's local.

Called in Saturday tea time 3 of us had Fish and chips 1 had Bolognase Pizza & 1 Cheese burger all the food was delicious & freshly cooked & the chips are the best I've ever tasted Delicious hopefully be back next weekend.............!

We came here for lunch after my daughter's football match at Goals at the Racecourse mainly because it was conveniently located for a quick lunch after a 12.00 match. The pub was fairly traditional in decor but was comfortable, clean and spacious. It was fairly busy for a Saturday lunchtime but because it's a large pub we still easily secured a table for 6 (although there were very few tables that seated more than 4 people - guess you might be able to push 2 together ). The menu (didn't see if it was a different menu on a night time ) was quite basic and limited in choice - but fine for lunch. Also didnt see if there was a children's menu as we just chose from the main menu. We had a combination of burgers and burrito/panini boxes between us. The food was brought promptly and the portions were generous. The food was tasty and everyone enjoyed it - obviously freshly cooked as it was so hot! Unfortunately we spotted an occasional drip of water coming from the light fitting above our table, which didn't instill confidence in the maintenance of the buildings! To be fair we mentioned it to our waiter and he said he would get it investigated. Overall a nice lunch for a hungry crew!

Come here for the carvery on a Sunday. Always a friendly welcome in nice surroundings. Always busy too which is a good sign. Food is good with ample portions. One fault is please get rid of the mushy peas. I love peas but it has to be garden with a Sunday Dinner!

Have been visiting this bar for 40 years and boy have i seen some changes.Yes 3 miles North of Newcastle city centre as the old Stone on the walkside tells you.Unbelievable changes over the years from a huge traditional pub ,change and change again but now a very popular establishment with all ages.The very popular modern bar with happy hour attraction every night brings the punters in and then the lovely bar menu is so nice.Attached is the wonderful recently refurbished SCALINIS where you can enjoy a fabulous varied menu served by young and friendly staff.Welcome to all parties,couples young and old,marvelous !

I recently frequented this establishment for food and drinks. I was served at the bar for my order by Stephhy. I know this young lady as I drink at the Three Mile quite often, she is very attentive and has a very bubbly nature. Could not fault this service.

I love this bar, not only do they serve great food they have an excellent beer and wine selection. The house champagne I would rate as good as some of the well known branded types.Great for all the live football and sports.Happy hour is a great idea and can end up not spending as much as what you may of expected. Being close to the race course it does become very popular on race days and can then get really busy.Excellent outside area in the warmer weather.And if your looking to move on to the town later! The taxi rank is just outside.

The food just gets better every time I visit. The "box" meals are very tasty and excellent value. The Sunday car very is really good- no over cooked veg! Good selection of beer too. Give it a try!

Me & the Wife normally come here for happy hour but brought the kids for tea tonight for a change from the moment you walk in its so welcoming the girl behind the bar even set my daughters phone up for her so she could connect to the WiFi.The food was absolutely delicious I had the Burger it was the tastiest burger I've ever ate Mr Daughter had the Fish and chips which was actually 2 huge fish & she loved it.The other 2 had Pizza & both said they were Delicious then you've got the happy hour which runs from 5.30pm until 7.30pm on Drinks.Brilliant night can't wait to come back...........
