We decided at very last minute to eat. Restaurant was just opening 5pm. Unsurprisingly we were the only customers so the lack of atmosphere was totally acceptable We enjoyed a memorably good food experience. Prawn puri starters. Roghan Josh,Chicken Muglai Biryani. All extremely good and excellent service. Will definitely return perhaps at a busier time

Very run down and cold venue the food was not very good and drinks were not to the standard that this restaurant used to be. I would not recommend this as a venue to visit and eat at due to its run down state. I would not even order a takeaway from this venue due to the poor quality of food. This has really been let go by the owners this used to be a lovely local restaurant to visit with good food and atmosphere which is not the case now. What a shame.

I had a full Tandoori chicken. Only problem was a chicken does not have 4 legs.. They didnt seem to get my joke. However it was nice but it took nearly 2 hours to get our food.

Not what i would call the best dining experience ive had infact i would call it one of the poorest, the actual eating area was on the lower floor or should i say more like a cellar with only afew tables which were very poorly dressed. The actual food was below standard as the side dishes were totally dried out and reminded me of dried up cat food and the waiting time well it was worse than watching paint dry, i definately will not be returning

If you want low quality food in an unpleasant environment that’s also a 1 star for food hygiene then still avoid going here. Why would you eat in a restaurant that’s a 1 star for hygiene?

This is the first review I have ever left but felt compelled to write something because the food was that bad. This was a group of 8 people and every single one thought their food was terrible. I ordered a madras, not even close, absolutely zero heat and tasted like a jar. The chicken was just about cooked but didn’t want to risk eating any further. The room we ate in stank of damp carpet which also didn’t help the experience. One colleague had duck and it was like leather. He’s a big lad and he struggled to cut through it. The portions of rice looked like they were the leftovers from someone else’s table. The naan was from a packet. I’m sorry I’ve had to write this but this really does have to be the worst food I’ve ever had in a “restaurant”. 100% I will not be back

The food is not up to the restaurant standard, tasteless, and seems like been reheated - - not fresh. Nothing exciting, will not return.

I was told it be 30-40 mins So I left 30mins; I turned up and had to wait extra 30-40 mines on top no sorry no offer extra no drink really terrible service

I have dined here about 20 times in the last five years and it's always been reliable. I have never had a bad meal, always good. The service is friendly, welcoming and prompt. The menu is fairly typical of Indian restaurants these days, though I think the prices are more reasonable. Also easy and free parking

We haven’t been here for years and I’m not sure we’ll be back. It was a last minute booking over the phone with the impression being given that we could be squeezed in. However on arrival we were taken down to the “basement”, a large uninspiring bare room with about 10 tables but only one other couple. Tables were all bare except for place mats and settings. Popadoms were served promptly and orders taken by a fairly unenthusiastic waiter who couldn’t really explain what was in one of the dishes. The food was served quickly but fairly uninspiring with the chicken rogon gosh in particular being very bland. Desserts were skipped, making it a quick and cheap evening. Such a pity as we hadn’t had an Indian meal for a while. We wish we’d checked the TA reviews beforehand. No return visit planned.

First time visit to this restaurant, food was good, service was excellent BUT I'm not a snob by any means and I know it probably saves money but am not a fan of paper tablecloths when out to dinner. Also, decor in the upstairs restaurant could do with a few pictures maybe, bit of colour. This however, did not detract from the tasty food and we all enjoyed our meals.

All good , a bit chilly in down stairs basement , nice Tandoori tikka masala and mushroom rice, I would go again, I would recommend eating in The Towers.

Haven’t visited the towers for a while. The welcome was great and the beer and atmosphere were good. The meal and sides were all delicious. Great night I’ll definitely be returning

Our family met at the Towers Indian last night (04/11/19) to celebrate our niece's birthday. The staff were very welcoming and went out of their way to make sure everyone was comfortable and got what the wanted. The food was very good.

I was hungry and just fancied a curry, was bad but could of done with a bit more rice very small portion size , had to have something else when I came home. Price okay service slow, but curry tasty, I would of had a nan bread if I new of the portion size though or a side. Probably go elsewhere next time.

Popadoms rubbery and mains were just warm. Very poor meal tonight. Not normally like this. But not happy ruined our lovely planned meal. Would like a refund not a credit for next time

We seemed to be the only ones eating at a 7pm booking but there were a number of people drinking inside and on the benches at the front. It felt like a bit of a local pub / club. Popadoms with chutneys and the mixed starter were good. The main course lacked something - sharpness and spice. Maybe good for the English palette but disappointing. Service was slow but friendly.

I have always enjoyed the great food and the helpful friendliness of all the staff. Just for once. last night I thought I would try a takeaway. WOW! Both my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals.

Just had chicken pathia takeaway and was very disappointed. Curry had no flavour and no spice to it what so ever. When we've eaten in the restaurant the food has been excellent but the last couple of takeaways have been very poor. Despite it being local we'll probably go elsewhere in the future

Didn't even realise this place existed and was quiet during week but good service and very tasty food. Lovely atmosphere downstairs by the wood burners. Good selection on the menu, Towers Tandoori Bhuna was great.

Birthday evening meal for our friend. We had a very warm welcome as always. We had great food, with a very good service although it was a busy Friday evening (busy between home deliveries and restaurant) however we did not have to wait long. The owner is always extremely pleasant and really makes you feel ‘at home’. The quality of food and the quantity was excellent. It was not my first visit, I have been there once a year for several years, we do also use their collection service every now and then.

We went here for a meal as my partner is having a knee operation tomorrow. Unfortunately we had to negotiate steps which my partner is really unable to cope with. However we had a very warm welcome from the owner and were immediately seated. The drawback was that we were the only ones there as other diners were downstairs which we could not manage.

Invited by friends for meal out and what a hidden gem this place is a staff are very friendly service is top notch food to die for our baby loved the new tastes and the guys were very accommodating to our needs. Highly recommend

When we lived locally, we used the Tower regularly, and always found it to be the best in Basingstoke. But then we moved, and had not been for some time. I was having my nails done at the salon at Viables, and my husband came to collect me and we decided to grab a takeaway. Food was really good, the welcome was great (how he remembered us goodness only knows, but he did!), and we are happy to drive the extra bit to enjoy the delicious food. There is a really good choice of dishes, portions are good, and everything is presented well. The restaurant has been there a good while, and the reason is that it is good quality and good service. Glad we found our way back!

My first visit here for a family celebration, was very disappointed as over the years had heard great things. Found the waiter was quite rude, not at all interested in helping us choose food etc, an annoyed grunt was about all he could offer, think his name was Mo or something similar. We were the first in the restaurant so wasn't busy but took an hour and a half for main food to come out and then didn't come out all at once so a couple had to wait even longer! Luckily had a poppadom each earlier but really poor service. My Coke was flat and tasteless, the house wine was nice. I think this restaurant may once have been fab, seems to have gone downhill. To make matters worse I woke up with an upset stomach, won't be visiting again

This is my second visit but this time I went with my husband and son, it was my sons first curry and our waiter encouraged him to eat it all with the enticement of a surprise at the end, my son ate it all and he was given his choice of dessert on the house. Food was excellent as always. Looking forward to our next curry night

We’ve been here several times and always receive a warm welcome from the staff. The service is very good and the staff are always very friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. Our meals were all very tasty. There were four of us on this occasion and we all enjoyed a great evening.

Went here last night for the first time...we were the only ones in There, lots of people coming in for take away though. We ordered chicken jalfrazi which i have to say was really tasty. My husband used the toilet and said the hand towel which was in there was really dirty and hadn't been changed for ages and the hand dryer didn't work!! Bit of a shame as the food was very nice.

We have been here many times and the warm welcome from all the staff is just like being part of their family. They always try to please and make every meal special. Every meal we have had has been great. Food is always to a high standard and with 15 of us that can be difficult.

The Tower's has been are look Indian restaurant for over 20 year we first met Ronnie as a waiter in another restaurant in Pack Lane Basingstoke. He then branched out and started Tower's which soon became a great place to eat, meet up have drink with family or friends. The staff are very friendly quick to pick up on what you need join in with you on your night out, if you are having trouble with the menu the kitchen staff are only to happy to amend your meal. If you deside to payTower's a visit I won't take long to become part of the tower's family. Jean & I have now started to have Tower's Tapas which is loads of starter's a great way to try lots of different tastes, the beer is good and fresh good wine. You can order from Savvier to be delivered to your home, phone your order in your self and collect later turn on the spur of the moment or book, Ronnie somtime has special dining night were you can try meals not on the menu. Went last night for a first visit and it was manic from the moment we walked through the door. The waiter rushed past us to pick up menus and show us to a table and the service continued in the same way. Couldn’t understand why as there were only 5 tables and only 4 were occupied. The food was good but the atmosphere and service felt poor. I will not be returning.

A short review, I have been to Towers several times and all the vists have been good. I don't know what it is but the management and staff always seem happy to help, the food is great, I think that the Tower's have their own take on a few of the curries which really makes it worth working through the menu to try something different which you may not expect to like.

We went for an impromptu meal and thoroughly enjoyed the food. The waiters were all very attentive, as usual.

He visitado este restaurante en varias ocasiones, como una pareja, con la familia y como un grupo grande de alrededor de 15 para una celebración de cumpleaños, no contar unos platos de comida para llevar. El servicio y el personal en el restaurante son siempre super amable y acogedor, nada es demasiado problema para ellos y la comida es estupenda, y a un precio muy razonable en mi opinión.

Tuve la desafortunada experiencia de ser hablado en comer en las torres de nuevo con los muchachos hace un par de semanas.

Cinco de nosotros nos encontramos para una comida india y tenía una agradable tarde. Todos elegimos diferentes platos. Elegí un plato de gambas king que era muy bueno. Uno de nosotros pedimos al propietario para algo que no estaba en el menú, y él ha producido sin problemas. No tienen vino, pero pegados a la cerveza como llevábamos en coche.

El viernes por la noche nos metimos en una comida me dijeron que sería esperar por una mesa, que estaba bien. Nos sentamos después de unos 10 minutos. Pedimos nuestra comida y esperaron más de 1 hora, pedimos 2 veces donde estaba nuestra comida, me dijeron que estaba en camino. Cuando llegue, nuestro acompañantes vinieron antes nuestros platos principales después de al menos 5 - 10 minutos nuestros platos principales llegaron, habíamos pedido grill tandoori mezclados que estaba bien pero el shish kebab estaba muy quemada y seca. Cuando pedimos la cuenta nos había dicho que no estábamos contentos y me gustaría hablar con Ronnie, él no estaba por allí, me dijeron que tardarian 8 libras. 00 cuando nos dijo que no era feliz se puso la cuenta en la mesa y dijeron que lo que quieres y se fue. Fue muy desagradable. Pagamos por sólo bebidas. Pero nunca nos dieron ninguna disculpa, muy decepcionado y no volveremos muy pronto.

Waited of a hour and a half to get stone cold food on Saturday night rung up to complain was told no problem we will sort it out then rung Tuesday to confirm my food to be told to bring in the 4 day old chicken he will reheat it this place isint fit for pigs to eat at

Popped in for a takeaway, went early (approx. 6.45pm) in case they were busy. Ordered food and a drink while we waited. Had to chase our order a few times, each time told "in a minute". People were arriving after us, ordering and leaving with their food before us. After about hour and a half finally got our food, bearing in mind we live less than a 1/4 mile away, and we drove, when we got home our food was stone cold. We rang to complain and was told "not a problem come and change it or come in again for a free replacement" We decided not to go wait another hour and a half but go another day. We rang to organise a takeaway replacement only to be told "prove it"and "bring your takeaway it and we will re-heat it for you" Sure, I'm going to take back 4 day old chicken so they can re-heat it. Their facebook says fresh food - obviously a lie which begs the question what else do they do to cut corners? I would advise anyone to give this place a wide berth and avoid it at all costs. Their food is bad and their attitude is diabolical, the place is tatty and dirty. There are plenty of decent places to eat in Basingstoke and we certainly wont be setting foot in Towers again and would advise anyone we know to do the same.

Yummy food, good service and also good for takeaways! They had good portion sizes and the deserts were interesting to try.

Visit regularly, enjoy the food. If very busy, have had a long wait sometimes but generally food arrives in good time, always well prepared and flavoursome

Celebrated my daughters birthday at Towers, The food was excellant, the service really good and the atmosphere just what makes a celebration memorable. For a Monday evening there were many diners. All in all a great visit.

My parents have eaten and enjoyed food here before, however last nights visit was very disappointing.After ordering we waited 45 minutes before I went to speak to a member of staff (and had trouble locating anyone) and were informed that our meal was on the way.We waited another 10 minutes before my sister also went to find someone. Eventually we were served some of our food - we waited another 5 minutes for every dish and were told the chef had had an injury.Sadly the food was at best lukewarm - and while the flavour was good, we were disappointed by the whole thing.We sadly won't be back.

A last minute booking for a table of 10 was accepted for a family gathering to celebrate a birthday.Waiting staff were very efficient without being pushy and took time to explain dishes, nothing was oversold so at the end of the meal all of the plates were cleared.Food was good hot and plentiful although no-one in the group were very adventurous basic staples done well. very pleased with the final bill including drinks.Happy to recommend.

My husband and I do not really enjoy Indian food that much and on the odd occaison when we have joined friends at other restaurants in basingstoke we have always had bad stomachs the next day. We visited The Towers with friends who assured us that we would love the food and would not suffer. With trepidation we agreed to join them. We received a wonderful greeting from the owner and were shown to our table straight away. The service was good considering how busy the restaurant was and I have to confess the food was delicious, especially the onion bahjees. To cap it all off, no bad stomachs the next day. We have now visited the Towers on two other occaisions and have recommended it to our friends who "do like a good Indian meal".

Visited as a large group. Food was amazing tantalising your tastebuds from start to finish. We ordered and just dug in so not sure what they were but the crispy potato were so moorish I could of just eaten them. The mains were fantastic - so much flavour and everything was hot. I cannot praise this place enough. Staff lovely service fantastic and food was just amazing. I ate way to much and it was hard to see food go to waste but we couldn't eat it all as potions were substantial. Lovely lovely lovely x

Walked through the door to order a takeaway. We were greeted by a lovely guy (who I think was the manager.) I explained I needed gluten free/wheat free dishes and he reassured me that they were very strict with their preparation and he could tell me exactly what flours are used. He was very knowledgeable on all allergies. He bought us a drink on the house while we were waiting which was a kind gesture. The workers were happy in their job. All friendly to customers. Was a little wait as they obviously cook from fresh. Food tasted really good. Would definitely recommend this restaurant/takeaway. Look no further!

This is quite an interesting setup. It's out of town a little at the Viable Craft Centre which meant parking was easy and free. As well as being an Indian restaurant, it seemed to double as pub as there was a bar with locals having a drink there. The restaurant itself was split into two dining areas on different levels. The menu was consisted off all the old favourites plus some specials. We shared a Chicken Bhuna and side dishes of mixed vegetable curry and a Sag Aloo plus a nan and a plain rice. These were all delicious and plenty for the two of us. The service was friendly and efficient. All in all a great experience.

Visited the restaurant last night, the food as usual was very good, but was extremely disappointed to be charge £3.00 for a lime and soda, Happy to pay £1.50 to cover the cost of the lime and the use of the glass but £3.00 is a rip off.

Visited for the 1st time in ages, really good could hear the cheers from the bar as Wales scored, food was great and Rony the same as always the perfect host, will make sure to visit more often in the future

We came for an early dinner and found what appeared to be a group of regular guests at the bar having friendly banter with the bar staff which is always a good sign. After getting the first round of drinks we were led downstairs to our table and ordered our food. Crispy poppadoms, lovely starters of tandoori chicken or chicken tikka followed by lamb dhansak, chicken jalfrezis and chicken tikka masala for mains - all tasty.The only gripe that I have is that dishes that are marked as 'hot' are not hot enough for me, more a medium but really tasty. Next time I will just ask for a hotter version ;-)The bar waiter and manager/owner were super friendly, attentitive and liked a good banter. All in all a very enjoyable evening. Will come again.

Frankly I give up as the worst curry I have hadThe guys tend to like this restaurant as the beer is cheaper than other Indian restaurants and after a few it must dull your taste buds.Unfortunately I don't drink as I usually drive so sadly I could still taste everything.I had my usual when eating Indian food a lamb Dhansak, but left most of it as it was so hot I may just have well been eating a VindalooTo cap it all (and as usual) the rest of the meal was either cold or greasy ........ Can't understand why the guys like it so much

Very nice bar and restaurant with very friendly and welcoming staff. I have used this restaurant on a regular basis, both to eat in and takeaway - if you can't finish your eat-in, ask for a 'doggy bag'. Every meal has been great, but I highly recommend the lamb sizzler - delicious!

Had an unplanned visit to The Towers with my colleagues. Very warmly welcomed by the staff. Suggestion by the chef was brilliant as I wanted to try something new and food quality of everyone was brilliant.This place is in close proximity of Viables Business Park and if you are there then must pay a visit !!

6 of us went out for a friend's birthday and I can't recommend this place highly enough. The food was excellent and the service was brilliant. This wasn't the first time I'd been here and will certainly be coming again.

Went there from the local Holiday Inn, simply because the hotel restaurant was not open and I could not bothered to wait. Towers was a 2 minute drive so headed over. it was early so I was the only diner and so I was seated immediately and well looked after by the friendly and chatty staff. I had poppadom and pickles which were very good, and then ordered the Chicken Tali with which you get to choose 3 of the "favourites" curries from the menu. All were freshly cooked, different sauces (not always the case in some restaurants!) and hot. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and will be back!

Never been here before of not long lived in Basingstoke. It was my bday and the staff were brilliant. Good was good and service faultless. Def come here again. Thank you!

Booked on a Saturday night for our first visit to The Towers after some good recommendations. Located in the Viables craft center, it's easy walking distance from Brighton Hill. Arrived and discovered the restaurant is on 2 floors - ground floor which features the bar and the kitchen and a basement floor where I our table was located. I was pleased to see a couple of log burning fires in the basement as it was a cold evening, however our table was underneath an air vent which gave a chilly draft throughout the meal! The food was reasonable, average dishes and average portion sizes. The heat of their Ceylon and Madras was less than I'd had elsewhere and I couldn't find a single sultana in the Peshwari Naan. Sadly, the entire experience was let down by the service which was extremely slow and lacking in customer service. Our popadums were served immediately but we were then kept waiting 15minutes to order our mains and had to flag-down the waiter to take them. We then waiter upwards of 30mins for them to arrive. I'd forgive this if the restaurant was capacity, but I would say they were 50-75% full.We then had to flag the waiter to clear our plates and ask for the bill despite having cleared plates for over 15minutes. To cap it all off - we had to go upstairs to pay at the bar on our own accord once we'd realised that they were not going to come to the table to take payment. Very strange as the main waiter seemed very chummy with some of the regulars, even kissing the wife of one family who were leaving.Perhaps if he gave such cordial attention to their new customers, they'd have a few more returning! Shall we go there again? Probably not I'm afraid. £65 for 4 people, 4 mains, 2 rice, 6 popadums and 2 pints of Cobra and a lemonade (rest had tap water)

I love this place and no matter how long we haven't been there, Ronnie always remembers us and our names. He always makes us feel welcome and will always ask what I want in my curry, even if it isn't on the menu. They don't deliver but he made an exception last weekend when Ronnie delivered our curry to us which was lovely..food & service. Great place.

Third time of trying this restaurant over the space of several years looking for an improvement on previous visits. The food remains good but unfortunately nothing has changed with the customer service. The waiters have this nasty annoying habit of leaning across you to clear plates/ dishes from the table whilst you are still eating. Also, as the restaurant is in the basement it would be nice if the fire exit was kept clear at all times!

we both love a good curry and found this place on line and thought we would give it a go when we arrived we thought this is different has a lively bar but in seconds we where shown our table and all the staff where great we both had a great meal and when we were going they arranged a taxi for us had a chat as if we had known them for years

We have been here twice now and have to say it's the best in Basingstoke by far for service and food. My wife had the Vindaloo and I had the Patia which were both tasty and full of flavour. No excess ghee or oil found in the food here. All well presented and even the poppadoms were fresh. The price is very good also here. Another great addition is that they sell King Cobra, which if you know of, it's impossible to find in a restaurant these days. :)Really looking forward to visiting again soon with the rest of the family.

Visited with a friend on a friday night. Had a fab evening. All staff were courteous and the manager was very friendly and chatty. Lovely food and great atmosphere. Had a great evening.

We booked a table for 4 on a Saturday in June to celebrate my husband's birthday.We arrived into what seemed like a pub ante-room with a large group of men watching sport on the over-sized tv. I don't recall this from a visit years ago. It was quite intimidating for me, although the men were all very courteous. We were led into the dining area and sat next to a large group of people, with only one other couple in the restaurant. I thought that rather odd on a Saturday evening.The table had crumbs on it and an empty glass of coke and lemon which the waiter was not planning on removing - I had to point it out to him.We ordered 1 sparkling water, 2 diet cokes and 1 lager. What arrived were 2 sparkling waters (both completely flat) and 1 diet coke, also completely flat.At this point we decided to leave. If they couldn't provide a clean table, fizzy drinks and the correct drinks order what chance was there of them providing us with a good meal. The owner did run after to us to apologise, explaining that he had been in Basingstoke for 16 years and although a very nice man, he simply could not grasp the fact that if his restaurant could not get the basics right which were visible to us, then what do they do to the food? I explained that I was not prepared to pay probably in the region of £100 when they can't even get the obvious aspects correct.

We really enjoyed our trip to the towers, the waiter was great and although full the tables are laid out with plenty of space so that we did not feel cramped at all.The food tasted great and our dishes were served well and in a good amount of time. It may sound petty but the soft drinks were in small glasses compared to the cost and were flat. That said it was only a small detail that did not detract from a great evening meal. I would gladly eat here again.

What a lovely friendly place with fantastic food!! I have eaten at many curry houses in Basingstoke, but none have been as welcoming. The food is lovely and brought out when you are ready. Can't fault it :-)

Found the enterance odd our names taken and the waiter was off at one hundred miles an hour Down to the cellar we were seated but no one offered to take our coats or show us where we could leave them my chair had good on! The table was clean but come on green 2 ply paper napkins !!! normally you would have a crisp white linen napkin placed on your lap or close to place.The service was average the waiter was sweating and the resturant was not full he never have us a good greeting however the owner soon made up for it and was very joville with his banter but waited a long time for mains. Would not be returning as decor was tired and it didn't feel authentic it felt like a pop up resturant. White brick walls Tudor beams infused with a damp smell ! The food was ok but it arrived on so many trays and was all a bit awkward being served it by so many peeple asking very loudly your choice of meal. Tired and service lacked finesse.

Hadn't been here for a while, but our usual Friday night venue was booked up so visited tonight. Got a great welcome from the owner Ronnie Kalam - told him what I liked and let him recommend the dish ... a really lovely Chicken Tikka Speciality. All of the food and the service was great, and we had a nice chat with our waiter "Max". Viables is quite out of the way, and unless you know it's there you wouldn't stumble across it - well worth a visit though. We will definitely be returning here again.

Ten years ago this was probably the best Indian restaurant in Basingstoke and I visited or had a takeaway several times a month. The food then became inconsistent and was always much better when the charismatic owner Ronnie was present. I have also had 2 birthday meals here on a Saturday and the wait to be seated was ridiculously long, on one occasion over two hours so making money on the drinks. After two very bad takeaways I returned in the summer after a long absence. The food was very good and I was pleasantly surprised but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Had a brilliant takeaway. The staff on duty were so friendly and polite and had us laughing whilst we were waiting! Sat at the bar and had drinks and a lovely chat with a very friendly gentleman. Then when we got our food home it was delicious! 11/10

We revisited The Towers after 5yr absent as it was a very poor experience with boiled vindaloo, rude staff and unpleasant atmosphere. However, things have since changed, so it seems. The food was excellent, service was good. A good experience and we'll be visiting again. I hope they continue to prosper and we shall never have a bad experience there again.Well done!

Visit the Viables Craft Centre at the wrong time of day and you will find grown men who should know better playing at steam trains on the miniature railway (some will have their kids with them, some won’t), or some of Basingstoke’s top knitters retiring from a busy day gossiping at the Parlour Tearoom. Thankfully our visit was after 8pm, and the only tea being drunk was from pint glasses and was called beer.Hidden away below the ground level of a pub is one of the town’s worst-kept secrets, but don’t worry, it isn’t a Bangladeshi Joseph Fritzl manning the door, but instead a welcoming and entertaining group of waiters who will take you on a voyage of curry discovery. A discurryvery if you will. Or not. The decor was mock Tudor, and the Winklebury wench on the adjacent table was chatting to her suitor in a manner which would not be out of place in a 16th Century alehouse, but aside from that, it was warm, comfortable and welcoming. Like sitting in a Jaguar with the heat up, listening to Radio 4. Some of the excellent dishes enjoyed by the group included a chicken jalfreizi, some sort of fruit based curry and a korma which was like, well a korma. A couple of brave souls ventured into vindaloo territory, with satisfactory results, taste and sphincter-wise.The highest-scoring curry (on the temperature scale) was a sans la carte choice described on the receipt as a ‘Phaal ++’. We were assured this satan’s breakfast of a dish could only be prepared by wearing protective gear similar to that worn by a GCSE science lab technician when mixing potassium with hydrochloric acid. The taste of the phaal we were told was slightly better than KHCl, and the waiter did not set us homework afterwards asking why the curry meat caught fire when placed on top of the naan bread so everyone was happy.Put your kids on the train set, drop your wife at the tearoom and enjoy a jalfreizi with the lads in peace and quiet. This is the modern way.

Ate with a colleague whilst in a business trip, the restaurant is busy and fairly small which can create a bit of a wait during busy times. We were both quite pleased with our meals, the staff were attentive and very polite and friendly. Both of us thought our meals to be good - mine was just a tad bland (although in fairness just a balti) but otherwise was very enjoyable with what seemed to be good quality ingredients. I can't say I was over excited by my meal but I was not heavily disappointed either and feel some of the recent criticism is maybe undeserved. If I could give an extra half star positive I would have.

My daughter and her other half asked us to go with them to the Towers for a meal. We had been to the Towers many times before and have always had a warm welcome, attentive service and good, savoury and tasty food if not very powerfully hot. This time was different as the curry was a little spicier, which is a good thing.I can't believe he negative reviews on here. We have always had a quality experience at the Towers and after having to visit the absolutely noisy, crammed-in ambience and bland food on offer at the Red Rose with friends tonight, my view is re-enforced that the Towers offers a far better overall experience and far better flavoured food.We will introduce these friends to the Towers to show that good tasty food at the proper temperature can be in put front of you promptly at a reasonable price.

We had a take away from there last night and all our naan breads was burnt the sauce tasted all powdery they have put there prices up by 2.50 a meal when they state they have not have a pay increase for years also when we collected our food we was made to stand around for 5-10 mins for the card machine so we could pay in the mean time the food was going cold will never go back there again standards have dropped massive

I can't rate the food as we never even managed to eat due to their terrible management and non existent customer service. Four of us had a table booked for half seven on sat 8th feb. We were told that the table would be 2 minutes. We waited ten and then asked again and were told 5 more minutes. Another ten minutes went by and we were assured it would only be two more minutes. Sure enough this went on until we ended up waiting 50 minutes before I phoned the Red Rose restaurant who said they could give us a table straight away. So after nearly an hour of being fobbed off we went to a proper restaurant and actually received some service. During our wait we were never once asked if we wanted a drink for our inconvenience despite having booked and WE had to keep nagging about the progress of the table. If you can't deal with a booking for four people you shouldn't be running a restaurant. They clearly didn't care for our money so we spent it elsewhere and definitely won't cause them an inconvenience by trying here again.GO TO THE RED ROSE INSTEAD. You can actually get a meal with great service.

As I live very local to this restaurant I would book my birthday meal Friday 7th feb .Called in lunch time booked meal for 8o/c for five .went in at 8 total blockade in bar was told to wait after 5mins pushed are way in and went to table booked.got the drink order in 20 mins later got starters then we were asked if we would mind moving to a table of 4 we sad no we had booked a table for 5.about 9.30 we asked what has happened to the main meals,They said ten minutes that would make it 1hour 40 mins after arrival very poor .must have overbooked that night???.we ate are meals did not enjoy them.paid over a hundred pounds a could not get out of the place quick enough.wont be going again.but will remember my 58th birthday crap service meal for a long time shame you.

Myself and my husband visited this resturant on Friday evening and following a previous visit which was well over a year ago we decided that although our previous visit was not very good we would give them another go. What a mistake that was and one that I shall not be making again! We had a table booked for 8.00 but on arrival we're told that the table would not be long and asked to order a drink while we waited. During the 15 minutes wait for our table to be readied we were waiting in the bar area which consisted off at least 20 people all waiting to be seated too, the man behind the bar just shouted to everyone that we will seat you all soon but in the meantime order your drinks.After 15 minutes had passed we were told that our table was ready and showed downstairs to the table. After some time our food order was taken and our pops dorms arrived, which appeared to be taken out of a cupboard rather than fresh from the kitchen. The starters arrived and were okay but liked presentation. Whilst the waiter was clearing our starter plates another dine came up to him send asked if there is any chance of them getting any food tonight at which point the waiter said that their starters were on the way, the diner replied with " we have had our starters but have been waiting over 45 minutes for the main meals" the waiter seemed confused and said that he will check and come back. The waiter then went up to another member of the waiting staff and promptly started having an argument with him and shouting at him too. We tried to get the attention of one of the waiters to order another drink as our glasses were empty and the waiter came over asked us what we would like and whilst my husband was telling him whst we wanted he turned to another waiter and started chatting to him and then just walked off without actually taking our drinks order. As we were not sure whether he had taken our order we waited about 10 minutes before another waiter came over and asked if we would like another drink and finally took our order. A different waiter then turned up to our table with drinks that we had not even ordered and were obviously meant for another table so we corrected him and he walked off.About 50 minutes later the waiter came over and placed the heated plates on our table ready for the main meals so at last we were going to get the main meals but NO the main meals toke at least a further 10 minutes to arrive so the plates were cold so totally pointless having heated plates. The main meals when they did arrive were barely warm, all I can say is they must have been sat on the side in kitchen waiting to be bought out for some time. At this point we were both just wanting to get out of there and go home and chalk it up to a big mistake on our behalf. We both ate a few mouthfuls of food and asked for the bill, the waiter came up to clear the table and did not ask once whether everything was okay even though he could see that we had hardly touched the mains. The bill arrived and we were then given the HOT towels which is a joke as they were barely warm too. We paid our £54.00 and after over 2 hours 30 mins and had only had a starter and a main meal we promptly left the restuarant, not even a thank you from the staff or a goodbye.The whole waiting staff need to visit " The Red Rose Indian Restuarant" to see how a professional, friendly and welcoming restuarant is ran and maybe they would learn how customer service should be.To sum it all up unattentive staff, poor customer service, cold food and a monument length of time to wait for food.This is without a doubt the worst Indian restuarant that I have ever visited and would warn anyone that is thinking of visiting not to bother and to move their allegiance to the classy and professional run restuarant " The Red Rose.Ronni diff you are still the manager at this restuarant then you should be ashamed of your business and the inept staff that you appear to have working for you..... Poor, Poor, Poor

Ordered my usual takeaway for myself and my wife but totally disappointed with what we got. My chicken was RAW and the rest was just tasteless. Such a shame as we have been using them for over 7 years. Looks like it's time to move on.

Popped in Saturday evening with kids: food really good, service & friendliness top drawer - well done Ronnie & team!

Went with a group of girl friends for birthday celebrations and whilst they were very accommodating, they put a couple of birthday banners up and took some photos for us with my friends phone (although one of the waiters did take some on his own phone!) and stored the birthday cake till after the meal when they brought it out all lit up and turned out the lights for full effect. The food was ok, not the best Indian food that I had ever had but reasonably tasty, with a group over 11 of us there was a lot of confusion as to who had ordered what and we did not get all the rice we ordered initially and also gained a couple of side dishes we do not think we ordered. The rice portions are quiet small and come on sliver oval trays with a layer of rice flattened down and were carried to the table piled up on top of each other which I was not impressed with. Some of the curries appeared to have lots of sauce with small portions of actual food, myself and one other ordered the same meal and there was substantial differences between the positions sizes one being two thirds the size of the other. There seemed a lot of the choice on the menu enough to please everyone. Unfortunately the ladies was not that clean, there were three empty toilet rolls and I had to go and inform them they had run out of toilet paper (so not sure when they were last checked) My friend did say that she had also mentioned it when she arrived over 30 minutes ago. It was a Thursday night and there was only one other couple there and the place lacked atmosphere, likely being a group of girls out celebrating we made up for it. Would I go back? yes if someone booked a meal there and invited me I would go, but I would not choose to go there if there was an open choice of fancy going to an Indian if so which one?.

We've been here a few times now. Unusual venue and pleasant staff make for nice evening. The food is good and you can tell the ingredients are good quality. My only complaint is the flavour is a little bland. I would like to see some more adventurous dishes and maybe new life into the classics. However compared to other indians around the area, still far better.

I stopped going to Towers a few years ago after some mediocre, greasy meals so when friends suggested here I was dubious. Need not have worried, the food was brilliant, waiters were lovely and Ronnie is still on top form. Thanks for a great evening.

Everything in this place looks like it would benefit from a good scrub. It's a dingey place in Viables. staff are nice enough and food is average but won't be going again
