Visited here after reading positive reviews. It was a total let down. Friendly staff but food really not good. Eg : beetroot and goats cheese tortellini starter the pasta was raw. The sourdough hand stretched pizza was rock hard. The sauté potatoes swam in grease. All said the staff did not charge for the starter. Maybe we hit it on a bad day ? Pleasant pub.

We stayed at The Three Tuns for 2 nights whilst husband was on business. It really is a great, local traditional pub with lovely rooms and very good food. We were made to feel welcome by both staff and locals, so a thoroughly enjoyable stay ... we'd definitely recommend The Three Tuns to anyone who wants a relaxed stay, in a beautiful area of Cornwall with very friendly people.

I thought I booked a room but it was a tent, but even if I had chosen this purposely it was awful. The tent was well-designed and equipped, but it was unfortunately overrun with spiders and other insects. This was unacceptable for a luxury offering. The tent was not the issue, but the infestation was. I could see spiders( some huge!!) literally every corner of it, we killed some but it was endless. We couldn’t stay there and had to book alternative accommodation immediately after arriving. The worst part for me was that despite our discomfort and request for a refund, the management was unresponsive and unhelpful. Their attitude was dismissive, we asked if they can change our tent or even help with the big spiders, but they said" we don't understand what you mean, it's normal" as if it was part of the room facilities!!! no alternative solutions or protections were offered for this expensive accommodation. That was the worst customer service ever. Overall, this experience fell far short of expectations, and I cannot recommend this accommodation at all based on my visit.

Upon arrival the staff were chatting and took some time to acknowledge us. The waitress who took our order was nice at first however became increasingly moody throughout our experince and was chewing gum the whole time. By the time we left she quite frankly looked like she would much rather be anywhere else and didn't even say goodbye to us when we left. The other girl working behind the bar was very polite however and said goodbye and wished us a good evening. We had 1 bottle of wine and 3 mains (steak, chicken pasta and lamb). Total came to around £100. The steak was cooked beautifully but the 'peppercorn sauce' was more like a thick, tasteless chowder, there were no peppercorns in sight. The lamb was overcooked. And the chicken pasta had no sauce on it, it was advertised as a 'white wine and parmesan cream sauce' but seemed to only have some parmesan sprinkled on top. It is possible the dish was sat under a heat lamp and so the sauce dried out. Either way it wasn't exactly as described on the menu. We finished our meals, and they were nice. But rather underwhelming for the prices and the service was seriously subpar. We spoke of our concerns of the meals to a lovely waitor (mid length brunette hair, didn't get his name) and he was very lovely and appreciated the feedback.

Food review - had a gorgeous Sunday roast at the Three Tuns. Easy booking online, dog friendly. Really lovely pub - modern and clean with a traditional vibe. Very friendly staff who were very helpful. Garden out the back also looked cute. The roast was really tasty and high quality, well cooked. Only grumble was that the veg was mixed together and maybe a few too many things going on....maybe a few less types but more of them (eg. Parsnip was lovely but only one piece) Fab, would definitely return!!

Not the first time and not the last that we will come here. The room was really lovely and comfortable. Lovely ensuite bathroom and very, very comfy bed. Water and refreshments provided including a nightcap of Port and Whiskey. The pub is always lively but we didn't hear any noise that disturbed our sleep. What we found that made our stay was the food. Our breakfasts and the 2 evening meals we had were absolutely fabulous. The Chef is only 17 years old but he is seriously talented and the food he produced was incredible. If you don't stay here, at least go for food. We visited the Three Tuns on a recent trip to the area. I booked the table in advance and we were promptly seated o arrival. We were told of the specials and ordered our drinks. The service was quick and friendly. The food we ordered was lovely, I had the Sunday Roast, my daughter had a basket meal and my husband the ham and eggs. It was all really delicious - the only let down was they had ran out of Yorkshire puddings but other than that it was great. They had good covid policies in place and I felt very safe dining here. I assume the normal chef was away as the food (allegedly brisket) was so poor we sent it back. Up came fish and chips and Thai curry as a replacement . Somehow I made my way through the fish and chips although the chips were undercooked and the fish was mediocre. The Thai curry was so poor my wife went home hungry and we refused to pay. If this is the way you treat tourists then you will not last long.

After the soul sucking madness that was lockdown we travelled to Cornwall for a much needed break and to stop us going stir crazy in our home.First week of holiday was just when pubs started serving 'outdoors only', so on a blustery wind swept Sunday we booked lunch at the Three Tuns. Got to give them 10 out of 10 for the efforts they have made to provide shelter and service to very desperate customers. A large marque had been errected in the back garden and tables laid out with plenty of distance. Despite their best efforts the wind was blowing through like a good un! Ordered food and drink from very attentive and friendly staff. Both of us sat in winter coats fastened up to the neck and enjoying a great roast dinner while tears tripped down our eyes with laughter. Everyone in the marque was in similar good mood making the best of the rotten weather.Great food and brilliant staff make this a regular pub when we visit Cornwall.

Of the two attractive-looking pubs in the tiny square of St Keverne, The Three Tuns looked the more characterful and the menu displayed outside offered a wider choice. We were pretty late for lunch (around 2:30pm) so were not surprised to find that there were only two Sunday roasts remaining. My mother and sister each chose a roast and I opted for haddock and chips. The meals were very good and the pub has a cosy, old world atmosphere. Eating Sunday lunch in a place like this took me back a few decades. That said there was nothing old fashioned about the range of dishes on the menu or the bright, friendly service. There pub offers a good range of West country beers and ciders and, had I been staying in St.Keverne, I would happily have whiled away the evening in the convivial bar.My only very small negative is that the haddock was rather overdone (due, doubtless, to the late time at which we were eating) and, despite being described on the menu as 'large' was actually rather small. But overall, a very nice lunch in a great little pub.

Firstly, note - it's about 10 miles from Helston! We stayed here for a couple of nights recently. It's actually in a pretty village called St Keverne. We stayed on a b & b basis but also had dinner both nights. Breakfast is delicious and HUGE. Dinners were good & the staff were friendly. Downside really was the room. Specifically, we had 2 previous tenants robes left in the bathroom, the bedroom curtains were hanging off the rails, there's no double glazing so can be noisy & the bed has seen better days.I liked the place but it's desperate for some updating.

My wife and I visited the pub during a 3 night stay to the area in late August early September. Due toCOVID the table was booked a week in advance but communications were good via text messages etc. Managed to park out front in the small square which was lucky as all spaces were taken. As soon as we entered we had a very warm welcome (as best you can underneath a face mask) and soon shown our table and menus. The menu was quite good with a wide variety of dishes. I opted for the Seafood Chowder which was really nice. My wife had a ploughman's but was disappointed as it appeared that the coleslaw was warm (maybe from warm plates) so this took the edge of her meal. The food came super quick and although we didn't feel rushed we were in and out in what felt like 30 mins! If in the area i would visit again and would recommend to others visiting the area.

The food was amazing with the beef and red wine pie absolutely delicious. It was a proper pie as they said on the menu and not a ‘chef’s hat’ version floating on a sea of gravy. My friend had the fish curry which looked and tasted fantastic. The chocolate cake was mouthwatering and we finished the last lot off they had. With superb courteous staff and friendly locals, I couldn’t recommend this pub high enough. Accommodation if you book it too, what’s not to like in a village square. Less expensive than the other pub in the village square. Be prepared to wait a little as the food isn't pre-plated and heated as in some places, but this gives you time to enjoy the really tasty local ales ! My bacon and mushroom pie took me 40 minutes to eat, it was so big and full of really flavoursome meat. My partner said it was the best fish pie she had ever tasted in her life - again, full of fish. Fresh veg with mine. After this we drove 4-5 miles to Coverack and walked off the meal with a stroll through that village ( visit The Old Mill Shop ! ). This is the second year in a row we’ve visited the area at Easter and the second time we’ve had Sunday lunch here. Great pub, friendly staff and good food. What more can you ask for. Only surprised tht there weren’t more people.

We visited this lovely pub whilst on our holiday to Cornwall. We had a warm welcome every time, Sunday lunch was amazing as was a dinner we had there too. Great ales, lovely garden out the back and friendly staff and locals.

We visited last night with another family. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The beer was good. Adults all ate burgers which were huge and tasty. Kids had sausages and chips - clean plates all round.

What an amazing meal we had last night! Local pork chops - 2 of ... with a delicious creamy chorizo sauce, crispy kale and new potatoes, other half had the “proper pie” which was equally scrumptious!! We were too full for dessert!! Great atmosphere and friendly staff! Would wholeheartedly recommend!!

We were staying in the village and decided to eat out. A local had recommended it (always good) and I have to say we were not disappointed. A Thursday night in March I did not expect the quality of the food to be so good. It is a lovely pub with a really warm atmosphere and friendly helpful Staff. A map on the wall shows where the produce is sourced and all 4 of us really enjoyed the food, all to full for dessert, but well worth a visit.

The roast beef lunch was first class, a lovely mix of vegetables not just heaps of red cabbage as loads of pubs seem to dish up these days, all really well cooked and not slathered in sauces to lose the vegetable taste. The plates were hot and the portions were good, the beef was cooked to perfection for us, we visit pubs in the area most weekends and this has to be in my top two! The atmosphere was good and the service from the young man serving us was very good. We will be back!

We ate here a couple of times during our stay nearby. The staff were very friendly and the food was good value for money. The menu was varied and food was good quality, tasty and well presented. We could not fault the meal and were eager to return to have another meal, again we were not disappointed.. They have a mixture of locals and holiday makers and there was a good atmosphere. Very clean too, if I went back to the area I would look into staying there as I bet they do a good deal and a great breakfast.

We all very much enjoyed our Christmas meal at The Three Tuns. The sensibly priced festive food was tasty and nicely presented, with a special menu for one of our group who is gluten intolerant. The complementary bottles of prosecco were greatly appreciated! Service throughout the evening was excellent (a big thank you to the waitresses) and we would be happy to make a return visit. Many thanks from St Martin Book Club.

Great Sunday Lunch Pork Yorkshire Pud and vegetables, pan cooked Hake and a magnificent orange cheesecake dessert in the cosy pub.

Had the chicken curry which was very tasty; nice chunks of chicken and mango chutney and all reasonably priced. Nice venue with music playing, Space Cowboys who were very good. Only fault was only 1 poppadom and no naan. For a few pence the meal would have gone from nice to excellent. Missed a trick there i think. Overall ok and we would both definitely go back.
