I have been many times to the Three Horseshoes. However it’s doubtful that I shall go again in the near future. This latest visit was a great disappointment. The menu was meagre. There was no fish which was one of my reasons for choosing to take my friends there. They all chose the lamb ( £21) . The portions were very small , the vegetables badly cooked. Everything came with a pathetic Yorkshire pud, and swimming in gravy. The puddings were OK - there’s not much even a mediocre chef can get wrong with bought in desserts.

This establishment is not consistent with quality of food. This is probably down to various members of staff standing in for the cooks role. The portions could be larger too. A shame really as the staff are nice enough. Consistently good food served in generous portions could turn this pub into a gold mine.

A true country pub. Overnight stay visiting family. Booked into the Angus Bedroom, this room has en-suite shower room. Bed amazingly comfortable, slept well. Large tv plenty tea/coffee. Basically you really couldn’t ask for more. The staff were so so friendly. Unfortunately the kitchen isn’t open on a Sunday evening or in a heartbeat we would have stayed with our family for the evening meal because the food coming out of the kitchen in the afternoon looked brilliant. Breakfast in the morning was lovely and again the staff so friendly. Would we return, definite YES.

This is a wonderful old style pub just off the main Hereford to Abergavenny Road. Had a great lunch with a pint of local ale. Staff were very welcoming even though we were with our two dogs. Extensive well priced menu. We will definitely be returning.

The food was awful and cheap, I don’t think anything was homemade. Bought in and just heated up we sent our food back to the kitchen, even at their prices definitely not valve for money.( no burgers either, apparently someone forgot to order them)and too much trouble for anyone to go out and buy some, Bypass this place for food until the pub changes hands. However we had a lovely pint.

Stopped by for lunch as we were passing by, I didn’t expect much but was pleasantly surprised by our visit. A cosy establishment in a quirky building, traditional Sunday lunch was served, the beef was a little chewy and hard to cut but the vegetables were exquisite, extremely tasty and plentiful. Very reasonably priced, efficient service too. Most definitely recommended.

Moved into the area about a month ago and have visited this pub for food on a weekend a handful of times now. The staff are always pleasant and attentive. There is a great atmosphere in here too. The main menu has many choices or there is the specials board which we have also eaten from too. The Steak pie is a particular favourite! We've always had delicious food and at very reasonable prices as well. We'll definitely keep coming back as regulars and will certainly book for when the family visit. Its our favourite pub in the area!

Overall it was ok, we stayed for one night and slept well. Unfortunately the lock on the bathroom door didn’t work which resulted in the door not closing on its own so we had to move a chair from the bedroom into the bathroom to prop against the door. For the duration of our visit there was a horrible smell in the stairwell that led to the upstairs bedrooms. Our evening meal was really good - impressive food. However I sometimes suffer from a bad chest and when I was sat in the restaurant, I was highly triggered and ended up rasping / coughing a lot. Not sure if it was damp or dust but something caused it. It got better after spending time in the bedroom upstairs but then at breakfast the next morning it started again so was definitely something downstairs.

Great little inn, staff very polite and friendly the only complaint was the room had windows that was rotten and the glass is about to fall out, and above the door you have emergency light that has a green light on, this illuminated the entire room at night. Very bright and in your face, very hard to sleep.breakfast was late but very very nice full English really enjoyed. Personally this inn is in need of a cash injection..

So disappointing, we'd had dinner the night before and it was lovely. Sadly, with high expectations we went down to breakfast and were so disappointed. The hashbrown was sooooo greasy, as was the sausage. Toast was anaemic. Apart from the egg it all tasted greasy. The rooms was clean and adequate as was the separate shower room.

Stunning food in a wonderfully friendly atmosphere. The belly pork starter was melt in the mouth tasty and hubby said the halloumi with couscous was firey but lovely. I had steak pie and hubby the chicken & leek pie. Crispy chips and the freshest peas. The crust was delightful with no soggy bottom and Oh! My! that gravy! Obvs had to have dessert, choc brownie for me mmmm lush and hubby had a choc bread & butter pudding with custard. We now need a cheeky snooze lol good job we're booked in for the B&B. Guys, please don't walk... you need to run, to this lovely country pub and enjoy.

I regularly eat here. Very friendly staff. Great for family’s. I came in to try try the mussels, a special advertised online. I went with mussels with bacon and cider, although a variety of sauces was on offer. This is one of my favourites so have it often. This was the nicest one I’ve ever had, very plump, fresh tasting mussels. Fresh herbs and garnish, the sauce was absolutely delicious. Comes with French bread.

This was so awful it was embarrassing. They don't have a chef; they don't even have a cook. Imagine the cheapest store bought 'food', thrown into a deep fat fryer and ruined! The chips were McDonalds style frozen with no flavour, the Haloumi fries frozen and cheapest store bought with no flavour, the onion rings frozen with no flavour thrown into a fat fryer and incinerated. The salad was a handful of shop bought salad leaves, with nothing else, not even a tomato with malt vinegar poured over them and dumped onto a WARM plate - disgusting. The vegetarian menu was a joke, everything contained tasteless chicken and the garlic bread was hard and over toasted or it had been kept warm for ages. The eggs looked as far from the organic local ones I buy as it's possible to get. The coleslaw was the only decent thing but served in a microscopic bowl and when asked for mayonnaise it came in plastic sachets with no attempt to put it into a dish. This is honestly the worst food experience I've had for years and they don't deserve to stay open. I can still taste the stale oil as I write this.

We were looking for a local place to eat and the Three Horseshoes was recommended. The restaurant tries to use local suppliers and features them on their website and they are featured on the menu. The range of food is limited but there is enough options to satisfy everyone, and we found the food to be flavoursome if a little rustic, although the salted caramel brownies were rather good. Unfortunately the restaurant is looking a bit tired in places and although we were looked after perhaps we caught the restaurant staff after a tiring day as they seemed as cream crackered as some of the decor.

Just called here for lunch, wow has this place gone down hill since the new people have taken over. I had Lasagne with a crust that needed a pneumatic drill to get though, good job i got strong teeth, also ordered 2 fish and chips, chips were of the frozen type and as for the fish it should have been advertised as batter and chips. This was off what they call the diamond diners menu, £46 what a complete and utter rip off, never again. I really would like to meet the people who gave glowing reviews and see just how they eat at home.

Very Disappointed with our visit. The place is exactly what we love about village pubs but sadly the food was lacking. Deep friend and tasteless. The chips were so awful it was no wonder it said you could have unlimited chips with any main meal as they were over cooked and tasted of nothing but burnt chip fat, you wouldn’t want anymore. The halloumi was coated in bread crumbs and deep fried for about 2 hours it would seem, again tasteless and tasted of burnt chip fat! Service was excellent the young lady waitresses were very smiley and welcoming, fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. The food is worse than some greasy transport cafe - chef needs better training. We left most of ours. The dessert was lovely (sticky toffee) obviously not made by the chef as it didn’t taste of chip fat - the only thing that didn’t! We live locally and it was our first and last visit!

GI can make you very ill. You have to be able to cope with GI and severe allergies / intolerances perfectly. Please can the landlord reply to this review assuring customers that they will strive for perfection. I could have marked as 1* but have generously knocked just one star off.Large pub with great ambience. Super smart toilets (a;ways a good sign). Very good menu with reasonable prices. We have eaten here a number of times this year and the food has generally been great. Today was the first time we went for Sunday lunch. The positives. Staff, ambience, service. All great. The negatives. The food. We had beef and lamb. It came with a few roast potatoes, a new potato, a roast parsnip, carrot, cabbage, swede and cauliflower cheese. A Yorkshire pud and gravy. There was a serious lack of seasoning throughout the whole dish. The beef lacked flavour. The veg had no flavour at all! Parsnip and carrot should deliver a good veggie punch but nothing. Cauliflower cheese. Not cheesy at all and the gravy did nothing to pull the meal together. We were really disappointed with the taste. However, we will return for other things in the menu which have always been tasty and flavoursome, but not for Sunday Roast.

A lovely little country pub, very welcoming and friendly staff. I felt very comfortable here as a women on my own as the staff really looked after me. Food very nice and very reasonably priced. Spacious rooms and very clean but I'd advise a refurb as very dated. Double room booked and got two single beds, I'd advise investing in beds that can be a double or separated as singles depending on the customer needs. TV absolutely tiny. Free wifi available which is important when travelling on business. Room above kitchen with a huge duck outside between two rooms, noisy and filled the room with cooking smells. Overall a very pleasant and friendly place to stay but definitely needs updating so local businesses can use when people are on business trips.

This is a country pub about 5 miles from Hereford which has just the. three B&B; rooms. We had a 5 night stay in room 2 which although above the kitchen wasn't too noisy. On arrival we were shown to our room and everything we needed to know was explained to us. The room was large with twin beds and lots of storage. The beds were comfy although mine did creak a lot. It was well appointed and immaculately clean. Only downside was that the TV was quite tiny. The coffee sachets were replaced daily. The bathroom was large for an ensuite and free toiletries and plenty of towels were provided. The shower is great once you have it set to the right temperature! Breakfast was cereals, full English and toast with coffee and tea. You ordered the cook breakfast or whatever part of it you wanted and then it was cooked fresh by the kitchen staff. We also had dinner at the pub two evenings and on both occasions the food came quickly and was hot and tasty. The portion sizes are very generous and it is good value for money. All the staff were friendly and helpful. There is plenty of parking although being a pub it sometimes got very busy. Checkout was very quick. Overall we had a good pleasant stay.

Nipped in with the family as we were staying nearby on holiday. I fancied the roast dinner that look great but they had just run out. I needn't have worried because the steak and ale pie was gorgeous. A couple of scampi orders and a chicken caesar salad completed the meals which were all nice and served really quickly. We sat by the open fire to warm our cockles and washed it down with a pint of local Butty Bach. Not too pricey either. All round couldn't be much happier - well worth a visit if you're passing.

6 of us last night for a birthday meal. Good selection of meals, large portions and nicaly presented. Son in law said his gammon steak was too salty but otherwise no complaints otherwise. Pina colada cheesecake was lush.

Called in for lunch and waited ages for our orders to be taken by an inexperienced waitress (had to go and find someone to serve us). I explained that the Caesar salad was marked as vegetarian on the menu although it contained Parmesan. She had to consult the chef as she didn't know some cheeses contain rennet. The advice was it would be made with Cheddar if requested although it didn't say 'or Cheddar' on the menu. As I had previously complained about this misleading description 3 months before and nothing had been done about it I wasn't happy. I ordered nut roast without potatoes but extra vegetables. It came with potatoes and had to be taken away again to have potatoes removed and extra veg added. Instead of different veg it was just another spoonful of the same. The nut roast was just a sloppy vegetable patty and I couldn't find any nuts in it. The veg consisted of carrots, a few peas and sugar snap peas. The sugar snaps were so under cooked I couldn't get my fork into them and I just left 75% of what was on my plate - all the 'nut roast' most of the peas (both types) and just stuck to the goats cheese on my roast and the carrots. Horrible. The starter of deep fried Brie wedges was over cooked and dry, 2 tiny wedges and a bit of basic salad, absolutely drowned in cranberry sauce over everything instead of the sauce being served separately so you could have as little as you wanted. I wonder what on earth has happened to the place as, despite the previously mentioned misrepresentation, the food used to be ok. Neither I, nor my friend, will be going there again.

Being fairly local and have recommended Three Horse Shoes so any times and took Friends and family many times sadly on this occasion felt let down and very disappointed, after ordering our drinks on a Friday about 2 pm, we given our drinks and were told to take any seat as it was very quiet in the restaurant and they would come and take our order, after about 15 min or more had to go to the bar to ask them when are you going to take our order, we were given the wrong cutlery one knife between us spoon and fork, each, our Brie wedges were dry and wedges and bed of lettuce plastered thick in cranberry sauce, you use to serve the sauce separately as does most restaurants as everybody's taste is different to how much sauce they like, the vegetable soup had thick chunks of carrots in it ,so thick had to be cut with knife, it looked like carrots you find with your roast dinner !! And to over hear a member of bar staff who I have not seen before having a laugh

We called in for lunch. We had spotted this pub many times previously and it always had a full car park. We were after a late lunch and there were plenty of tables available. Service was good, the tables were a bit sticky which always puts me on my guard. Their is absolutely no need for it, even if beer is being regularly spilled. The food was good pub grub and we were satisfied with it. We couldn't be sure how much of it was truly home cooked from scratch, despite the claims. Yes I would return. The total bill for the 4 of us was £65

My first ever poor review on trip advisor. Have eaten here many times over the years, this is our first since change of ownership and it is not good. Booked for Sunday lunch, previously veg was served separately and gravy in a boat. This was like childhood Sunday lunch served at my grandmother's everything on the plate including the gravy. This was made worse by the fact that the gravy was watery and tasteless. The staff were pleasant but we didn't book for the company!

Went on a Tuesday and entered the restaurant at 12-15 hrs. On arrival the meet and greet was good. Menus were available straightaway, the menus presented were comprehensive, the diamond menu was chosen, this was two courses for £6-95. My wife ordered prawn cocktail and fish and chips, both courses were said to be very good. I ordered brie wedges in bread crumbs and chicken curry with rice, the brie wedges were good and the chicken curry was very good. Service was good as was the ambiance. Value was exceptional. Will return when we are passing again. Wheel chair access is good there is a ramp in front of the establishment, the ramp though is a little bumpy. Toilets were clean, the hot air dryer in the gents only blows cold air.

Went for a birthday meal. Food was good and service started off well but the table was cleared while 3out of 7were still eating and the pudding menu offered while 1 was still eating the main course. The table being cleared too soon spoiled the atmosphere at the table. Would pop in for a quick bite in future in the unlikely event I was passing but wouldn't go for a special occasion again.

Very good substantial and tasty Sunday lunch. Popped in on the off chance as we don`t live far away (somehow had got off the radar) and had a really good dining experience. Good selection of fresh vegetables served with good quality and tasty meat. The desserts were excellent as well. Service great, without being overpowering. Will definitely be going back.

My family ate at the Three Horseshoes on Sunday. There were 11 of us and we were given a private room which was perfect. The staff were very friendly and the food was very good. There was loads of it and the price was very reasonable. I would recommend it.

Walk-in at 6.00 on a Saturday evening, as we happened to be in the area and lived the look of the menu. Nobody greeted us, but we asked the lady who appeared to be in charge whether they were serving food that evening. She rolled her eyes. The conversation then went as follows: Her: Have you booked? Us: no, I'm afraid we haven't. Her: Huh. (Rolls eyes again, goes over to the bookings list). It's very quiet, but I don't really want to do any more today. Us:... Her: I suppose I could do 7 o'clock... Us: Don't worry, bye! Her: Huh. No way were we going to give our business to somewhere with such a bad attitude. But it turned out well for us - we ended up at the Lal Bagh Bangladeshi restaurant down the road, and had possibly the best curry we've ever eaten!

First visit to The Railway Inn Dinmore. Friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. 1 adult had an allergy to a foodstuff, staff were able to advise which meals were suitable - majority of meals, but Chef would accommodate as meals were freshly prepared. Booking advisable. Wait a while for your meal as its freshly prepared but well worth the wait. Good presentation of food, hot, tasty good quality. Off the beaten track, but well worth a visit. Beautiful location and tasteful décor. Will certainly visit again.

Awful service; slow, rude and incompetent don’t bother! There are so many better, faster and competent coffee shops in Hereford.
