If you want a pub targeted at locals, with families, this is the place. We visited on a Friday after work. There were children running around, the service was friendly, and the food ok.

I went for Sunday lunch with my 3 children and two small dogs. We arrived and they had already put a high chair at our table , saved space for the pushchair and were so accommodating. The Sunday lunch was delicious with all the trimmings, scotch egg was runny and proper old school puddings ! Great service and lovely red wine. Highly recommend !

Came in for my brothers birthday. Great atmosphere from the 6 Nations crowd and an excellent serving from the kitchen. I had the Wild Boar Sausages and Mash. Cooked perfectly and tasted superb.

Just when I loved this local watering hole enough already; Mike and Grace have come in with a fresh new look, menu and atmosphere. The roast dinner we had was perfect, the fire was keeping us nice and warm and the young man behind the bar was friendly and helpful. Cant recommend enough, the last decent pub in Henley (in my opinion) :)

Having stumbled upon this pub on a wet and windy Sunday afternoon, we couldn’t recommend the Three Horseshoes highly enough. We had the roast beef Sunday lunch and it was the best beef I’ve had in a long time, perfectly cooked and generous portions. The landlady was so very friendly and offered us lots of tips and information about the area, places to go and see. Honestly a 5 star review for a 5 star experience!

Came for a roast with our young family. Felt very welcoming on arrival. The interior looks fantastic and the food was delicious- even my 1 year old ate everything on her plate. Will definitely return and recommend. A new gem in the making for Henley!

We chose The Three Horseshoes for our monthly craft club last night as we heard it’s under new management and wanted to try it out. We had such a great time. Every single member of staff was so accommodating, and they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and give us the best experience. The food was delicious - we had some starters and pudding, my favourite were the smoked mackerel on toast, the nachos and the apple crumble. We’ll definitely be back very soon!

Nipped in for a Sunday roast before a train ride home. 2 mins drive from Henley Train Station/8min walk. Doors opened at 12:00pm, we shot in and our dinner was on the table at 12:20pm. Succulent beef and chicken, was opted for my plate. The Yorkshire puddings were so light and fluffy. Cauliflower cheese was perfect and super tasty.veg was cooked to perfection and the red cabbage was AMAZING. Highly recommend this place. Also has a pool table, live sports on 2 screens, an open log fire and wonderful friendly service.

Sunday roasts are superb. We go to the pub most Sundays. Generous portions for regular and small dishes. Other dishes besides the roasts are great too I.e. All-day English breakfast, Ham eggs and chips. The bar staffs are helpful and friendly. Likewise the landlords.

Visited family in Henley last week and heard that The Three Horseshoes has recently been taken over by new management. We decided to pop in for a Sunday roast, and it was absolutely delicious! It was really welcoming, and the new management seemed really friendly. Definitely recommend stopping by!

Having driven past for 20 years I finally took heed of the positive reviews and visited for a quick business lunch. We will not return. Nice building, pleasant layout. Cold reception from a disinterested young man in tracksuit at the bar, hardly bursting at the seems with the good and great of Henley, this was a very down market experience. Pie and mash with gravy out of a tin did nothing to improve the atmosphere.

There is a home made menu which changes every week. Excellent Sunday roasts Great atmosphere. Nigel Rainbow will be sadly missed.

Excellent food, beer and service. Having only passed by the pub before, we wanted something different - not full of tourists as somewhere to take mum and dad and my brother. I emailed through to the pub to book a table, which was duly done. We arrived to be met by a very cheery barman, who served drinks and took the food order. Together with the owner, they could not have done enough for us. Definitely recommended.

The women working at the bar was extremely rude she stared us down when we first walked in and gave an incredibly unwelcoming vibe which made us want to leave the restaurant but we had already ordered. She only became somewhat friendly when her boss was there where she actually said bye. If you go here as a visitor, you’ll know the women I am describing immediately.

This pub is a little gem. The food was amazing. I’m a vegetarian and my husband isn’t but had lots to choose from for both of us. The drinks and staff were great too. ♥️

Im lucky. I live close to one of the remaining traditional "local" pubs where the landlord, Nigel's reputation is built on good service and excellent food. The Sunday roast is the best ever. So many people locally use "The Shoes" as their social club and canteen.

Tripadvisor led us to this great, friendly family run pub tonight whilst away from home and seeking football and food. Our needs were more than met and what the football lacked in sparkle the ambience made up for. There was, unsurprisingly, no formal menus but the cheeseburgers from the bbq were very good, the Guinness well kept and the manager, his staff and the locals very welcoming. So win-win on all counts!

Nigel's always happy and there's a good atmosphere. Probably the best hanging baskets I have ever seen, so pretty.

Came with a few mates to start off the ale trail. Great first boozer to kick off the trip, whether coming for casual drinks or the challenge, would highly recommend- great choice of beers and really cheerful staff!

We are happy returning customers, visiting from outside the area 🙂 we were greeted by friendly staff to a very comfortable setting and atmosphere. There's a brilliant range of drinks available, a varied food menu to suit most people's tastes and everything we've had has been amazing. The lasagne, Sirloin and chicken burger are all sublime, plus the kids have loved the quarter pounder burger and the chicken nuggets, finally with a taste tingling array of sweets to round up the meal. I doff my cap to the chef and would love for everyone involved at the premises to get the recognition they deserve, THANK YOU!!

Consistently good. Perhaps the last traditional family run pub in Henley? Quality, homemade specials menu on the blackboard that change on a weekly basis. Extensive traditional pub menu. Service with a smile. Staff and landlord seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs. Always accommodating for groups etc... They show the big sports events but without the rowdiness of some places. Pool table/darts at one end separate from the dining area. Always a parking space in a nearby street but also a few minutes walk from the centre of Henley. Brakspears Ale. Good Merlot. What's not to like? So glad I rediscovered this gem having moved back to the area this year.

As a walking group of eight men visiting Henley for an overnight stay, we decided to have our evening meal together at The Three Horseshoes on the strength of previous reviews, and were not disappointed! The atmosphere was happy, friendly and congenial. Nigel, the owner and his lovely waitress / barmaid Millie were brilliant, and the food, prepared by chefs Nigel and Tim was very tasty. Between us we sampled the steaks, fish, chicken and "bangers and mash" options, as well as various starters, puds, wine and beer. All were thoroughly enjoyed, the only exception being the bread and butter pudding, which whilst good with loads of fruit did not quite reach the impossible standards set decades ago by my mum and now challenged by my wife!! A real gem! Food was top notch, great value and absolutely delicious. Lots of comfy seating and the place is spotless. Best pub meal we have had in years, we will be back! We had a plentiful serving of a tasty leek and potato soup for a bargainous £8 including doorstep buttered bread, and then a cheese and bacon omelette with chips and salad. Perfect pub lunch. And the staff were very friendly and helpful too - we even met the landlord who it turns out is also the chef! Hard work pays off - this place is highly recommended.

Popped into this pub because it had good food reviews on Trip Advisor. It is clearly a locals pub and a man I assume was the landlord was visible and busy chatting to his regulars. There was a lady behind the bar who took our orders ( was her name Billy?) who was lovely, very friendly with great customer skills. My wife ordered lasagne but there wasn’t any left so she had a fish finger sandwich. No problems with that but I was very disappointed with my Jumbo cod and chips. The chips were fine. The peas were plentiful but maybe mushy peas would have been better. The Cod resembled a piece of Southern Fried Chicken. I was expecting a nice piece of fish coated in some nice fresh beer batter. Unfortunately it was not what I got. It looked just like a piece of Birds Eye frozen fish in batter which had been deep fried to death. Sorry, but it just wasn’t very good.

Impeccably run by an owner who really cares. Everything runs like clockwork but in a really friendly way. Homemade food IS homemade daily and is obviously taken pride to produce.

We are so fortunate to have Nigel and Julie and their staff who welcome us on every visit. All aspects of their pub are just without fault and give us a warming and relaxing time. Just delicious all round. Thank you.

I really wanted to thank you for a great experience in the pub today. I am in a wheelchair at the moment due to a leg in cast and the barman couldn't have been anymore helpful getting me into the pub and finding me a comfy chair and stool for my foot! The food was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed a pub lunch

What a marvellous place. You really couldn’t ask for a better pub with better staff. Very clean (toilets are perfect) family and dog friendly. The food is amazing, huge portions (smaller potions available- but why would you?) We don’t come here often but every time we do we are treated like we are family. Big shout out to Helen - best bar tender EVER!! Whatever you eat, have a side of chips, best chips in town and beyond. Thank you Three Horseshoes.

I came here with my partner to have a special dinner and was amazed by the lovely selection of meals. We ordered our meal and it was with us within 15 minutes and very nice it was too, very tasty and plenty of it, also great value for money. The staff were very friendly and courteous and made us feel very welcome. We will surly be back soon. Thank you all for making our special day even better.

Second visit and it was just as good as the first. Pleasant welcome, great beer and amazing food. Many of the dishes are simple pub grub like pies but home made and really special. The 12 hour beef was a standout and we followed it with treacle tart which was great, not too sweet.

To break our journey to Gloucestershire, we decided to stop off at Henley for a walk along the river and a bit of lunch. Checking out the options online we found this place had a "normal" food menu at reasonable local prices. Both the wine and beer were excellent. Our meals were tasty and filling. Omelette and chips may be simple fare but it was cooked to perfection. We decided to stop off on our return to Kent and again we were not disappointed.

A fine thames side establishment... Serving an extensive menu to the locals and visitors alike... Great value for money with some iconic puddings on the menu... ♥ And just happened to notice how clean the windows looked....

The Burgers are really nice and good value for money. The bartenders gave us a really good and fast service as well

We have been visiting this pub mostly for food over the past ten years and the standard has never slipped. Across this period the very congenial host and his lovely staff, have always offered a splendid and varied menu catering for every taste. Last night I enjoyed the best slow cooked pork ribs ever, what a treat. We would be delighted to recommend The Three Horse Shoes to anybody looking for an evening out in Henley, with undoubtedly the best pub food available in the area. Keep up the good work. Pretty decent pub. Food is OK, not "Gastro-pub" standard, but decent. Maybe not quite as good as it used to be.. Usually a decent handful of daily specials, on the blackboard. Good on-tap drinks, fair price. Comfortable atmosphere. I hadn't noticed the Sky sports.. IMO, not somthing I'd want, in a trad pub...

I went here last Friday for a former colleague from Tesco for her going-away party, and the atmosphere and staff were very friendly, and we got a wide selection of party food which was all delicious. However, I was not able to connect to the pub's WiFi, even though I typed in the password correctly, so I was forced to use data, that's the only thing stopping me giving five stars. Other than that, it was an enjoyable experience.

Just from Henley centre is the Three Horseshoes which is a lovely pub and well worth a visit if you are visiting Henley. Very welcoming and dog friendly with a good selection of ales and drinks. Did not have any food when there but as it came out for other people it did look very tempting. We will be back.

Normally not a massive fan of pub grub, having said that I was forced to change my mind after having delightful meal at 3 horseshoes... Had meal of the day , tomato 🍅 soup ,wings and Sunday roast was amazing and salted caramel brownie with ice cream hit the right spot ... 😋 Special thanks for Graham and Tim ( chef ) for superb food and amazing service , will defo recommend this place..

Had a wonderful lunch, if you want good honest pub food, this place has it.

Paid good money for fish and chips and was very disappointed. Basically a tiny piece of youngs fish with a handful of frozen skinny chips and peas. Very poor!! No idea where the trip advisor rating has come from. Maybe the other food is good . Just don’t order the fish and chips!!
