Popped in for a simple burger and chips for a quick lunch, no customers whatsoever, still had to wait 40 minutes for it to arrive, looked good but OMG the burger was like a chopping block, overcooked to infinity, chips complete opposite, almost frozen still in the middle. About the staff, I really didn’t want to see them both rolling their tobacco behind the bar, the guy looked like he was cooking my food while going out for a fag, probably why it was overcooked. I am afraid MEVER AGAIN

Came for a Roast dinner, had 2 courses. Starters came out very overdone and the beef roast was cold. When this was brought to the attention of staff they gave a very huffy response to the complaints. So this was a very quiet place, we were literally the only people in the restaurant (party of 7) and they still managed to get our food order wrong 3 times. So we ended up eating at different times. The staff were friendly, pub clean and has a decent pool table. My food was pretty good (I ordered the burger) but they did bring me a lasagne first????? A few members of the party weren't happy with the chips and said they were cold and uncooked. Nice place but seriously need to work on getting orders right. We got a check back for the food when everyone had already finished. Needs improvement but has potential. Make sure you check your bill as they had added extra drinks and nuts onto the tab which we only noticed after paying. They did accept the mistake and refunded it but considering we were the only people in the restaurant seems a strange mistake to make.

We went for Sunday lunch on the first weekend after the re-opening of this lovely country Pub in the beautiful village of Barrow just outside of Bury St Edmunds. The pub has something for everyone with a bar at the front which is a true old style bar for the real drinkers to enjoy with lots of different beers to try. The heart of the pub has a pool table, darts board and is an area to enjoy if you like a good old English pub. But for me what is so lovely is the restaurant area at the back of the pub which can seat about 25 to 30 people. We ordered the Sunday roast and had beef which was really lovely. The veg was cooked to perfection and the roast potatoes were delicious. Gravy was lovely and it was a nice touch that the gravy and the veg came out in its own jug and dish so you could choose how much you wanted. The desserts were lovely and we had the chocolate brownie which was served with ice cream on a lovely slate plate. I had the biscoff sundae which was awesome and by the end of it I was well and truly stuffed. I will definitely return and as I have been to many places to eat have to say that this was really very good and great value for money. The pub also has a lovely garden area which I'm sure in summer will be packed. It's so important that pubs like this get the support from the local community as so many of our great pubs are being lost. To all the staff that worked today thank you for a lovely Easter Sunday treat. Wishing you all the best for the weeks ahead.

We visited today for the Sunday lunch. We didn't book, took a chance on a table being available. My god we are so glad we went. The roast beef was absolutely delicious along with the roasties/yorkshire pud and all the vegetables were cooked to perfection. The homemade brownie and icecream was very yummy. We will definitely recommend to all our family and friends. I can honestly say you won't be disappointed. We went home very satisfied. We found all the staff were so friendly and helpful. This little pub I must say felt so cosy. A proper little country pub which is clearly loved by the whole village. Will definitely return.

Friendly welcoming staff but the food was awful. I had the 3 bean chilli and honestly I have no idea what an earth was on my plate there was certainly no chilli or tomato based sauce. It was almsot like a bowl of blended flavourless beans nothing like any chilli I have ever tasted. My pudding was also cold clearly not heated through properly in the microwave. Sadly we will not be returning and would not recommend.

We arrived about 1 and the lunch was finishing however the friendly staff kept the lunch open for us so we could order from it still. There wasn’t much selection on the lunch menu so i went for the Sausage and onion baguette and my partner went for the tuna mayo baguette. The food was quick, came out efficiently and it was lovely and well presented. The pub wasn’t that busy during this time but for lunch i would really reccomend.

Went to this pub on Saturday. There are lots of pubs with the same name. This was at Bury St Edmunds. When we walked inside, l was quite disappointed. There was no cosyness or asking us where we're from etc. It was a local pub with the people that live round and about. Nobody spoke to us. It livened later on when music was played in another room. There were people dressed up in Halloween 🦇 costumes, but as the two rooms were separate, they could be heard but not seem - weird! The best bit for me was when they played 'Sweet Carolyn' . The toilets were very compact to say the least! We snuck out to find another pub...!!!

Lovely pub! I booked in advance for 13 of us for my daughters birthday. We got an email to preorder as there was so many of us, totally understandable. We turned up on time and a table was ready and waiting. There was only 2 workers as there had been an accident on the main road so they were short staffed. The lady behind the bar explained this and promised to serve us ASAP. We ordered drinks to start, very reasonably priced. Whilst at the bar the head chef Sam asked if everyone was here as he wouldnt want to start our dishes if some of us were stuck too. Shortly after, our meals all came out. The kids meals came out FIRST! I LOVE this in a restaurant, gives the adults time to sort the kids out before theirs arrives. They were followed by all 9 mains, all piping hot and together! Was a pleasant meal, everyone enjoyed their food, we had a variety of dishes, no 2 were the same. No complaints from anyone. The lady behind the bar, with dark hair and glasses was absolutely amazing at her job. She came to check the food was OK and to take any drinks orders. Perfect timing too. She was a laugh and was comfortable in her role. Its a 45 minute drive from where we live, however we was camping up the road this time. We all said we would drive the distance again soon to get the lovely meal and service we had again.

We’ve been coming to the Three Horseshoes for years and have been pleased; however, the pub is under new management, and it shows. The menu has changed, to be expected, but the food portions have drastically changed. We paid £5.95 for 4 onion rings of calamari and £12 for ham, chips and an egg that turned out to be two pieces of thinly sliced lunch meat. We were so displeased with our meal, because we paid £35 to leave hungry and head to the chip shop right after. The environment was also a little off putting. We didn’t feel welcome by the staff, which was odd since we’ve never had an issue before. We’d love to go back if some changes were made, but until then, we’ll spend our money elsewhere.

★★★★★ I visited The Nook during a group cycle ride, and we were warmly welcomed. This place is a gem, offering a great choice of hot and cold food and drinks in lovely surroundings, complete with attractive artwork on the walls. I had the Cornish pasty, which was piping hot, delicious, and generously filled. The fresh and crunchy salad that accompanied it was how I liked it. As someone who enjoys supporting independent businesses, I highly recommend this fabulous coffee shop. It’s a must-visit if you’re heading to the barn next door or looking for a cosy spot with delicious food.

Went to hotel chocolat bury St Edmunds with my friends for a hot chocolate, my friend asked the man at the counter if you do white hot chocolate, to which he shortly replied 'look at the board' This to me is rude and poor customer service. To me a reply like 'yes we do, what size would you like' is more reasonable. Maybe hotel chocolat need to check that their employees are happy. I cannot understand why would said person work in the retail industry if he doesn't like being asked a simple question. If someone asks if you do white chocolate hot chocolate they are pretty much saying that's what they want if you have it
