The Terrace at Loddon in South Norfolk

Found a leaflet on the stern of our boat early one morning and decided to try the breakfast which was all freshly cooked and a real plateful. Shame we had to move on as would of gone back for dinner.

Norfolk at its best! Great food, great staff and a great location! The abcs are all met here. All tastes on the menu are catered for. Beautiful setting with great people watching opportunities. Caring about what they do. If you want to lose yourself this is the place for you!

We had a delicious lunch on the terrace overlooking the main street. The choice was excellent, and allergies were catered for; one of the party is dairy-intolerant. The lady who served us was helpful and friendly. Later we walked back up to The Terrace for tea, but they were closing. Seeing our disappointment, the owner suggested they supplied us with takeaway drinks and cakes to eat on the terrace where we had lunch. They opened up the padlock on the terrace gate, brought out our order, waited while we took milk and sugar from china, which they took inside, with the parting request that we should lock the padlock on leaving. A really charming service to three thirsty people

Well worth a visit. Nice coffee, lovely premises, friendly staff. Would definitely make a return visit if in the area.

I am glad that I had lunch at this bistro when I visited Loddon. The members of staff were friendly and very quick. I sat outside, in the terrace, which overlooks the church and grounds. I had a wonderful view. The food was delicious. They have every day some special dishes that are worth it to try them. I had the braised steak which was very nice. The ingredients were fresh. The portions are of a generous size and tasty. The cakes are also delicious and light. I enjoyed my time there. Thank you.

We stopped at the Terrace for a coffee and snack, and were bowled over by the lovely staff and great food, so we returned the following morning for breakfast, which was sublime. The full breakfast was great, but I had the veggie breakfast, which was imaginative and very tasty. The staff were wonderfully friendly. Bert the collie particularly enjoyed his home made doggie treat (apparently the secret is peanut butter) so happy days all around.

So happy to find this bistro when we visited Loddon. We had mid morning tea, hot chocolate, scone and cake sitting in the outside terrace with a wonderful view of the church and grounds. Service was very friendly (thank you) and the drinks and cakes were delightfully fresh, of a generous size and tasty. We will definitely visit often - thank you.

Stopped for lunch and as it was a nice decided to sit in the garden. What a great view of the church. Garden was clean and well laid out. Although it was busy the service was excellent. We ordered a lunchtime sandwich each, the food did not disappoint, it was lovely. My wife loved the salt and pepper shakers so as I paid the bill I enquired about them. Instead of telling me where to get them he sold me a set, that is definately going above and beyond in my book. I cannot recommend The Terrace enough, we will be visiting again

Six of us (three couples) ate dinner here last Saturday evening. Whilst not busy we enjoyed the slightly unusual surroundings and the beautiful chandeliers! Robin the owner was a delight to chat to. The food was excellent. We will definitely return when next in the area.

We arrived at The Terrace after pedalling for 16 miles into the wind, roaring hungry. Coffee and a jug of water came really quickly and then luscious goat's cheese and salad lunches, tasty and filling. We love the chandeliers. Nicky and Sal

The Terrace is a little gem in Loddon ! I have been using this place over the last few months as a support worker regularly taking my clients there. The staff here are very attentive and are helpful in every way with dietary needs and special requirements. We always have a memorable visit when we go and look forward to our next visit !! Husband and I visited The Terrace today for lunch, we had moored at Loddon and saw the lovely seating outside so stopped for a beer and some lunch. Staff were very accommodating and didn't mind when we came inside to sit once the sun had gone in and the wind picked up. We ordered two beers and shared the halloumi and gammon club sandwich with fries. The sandwich was gorgeous, but definitely too much for one person. We were glad we had shared. Lovely selection of cakes on offer but we didn't try any as we were too full from the sandwich. We'd definitely come back again, the only complaint we had was that the sandwich and fries came out separately, approx 5 mins apart. We had waited around 30 mins for the sandwich and thought it would have been better to just wait 5 minutes longer and bring it all at the same time? Especially since we were sharing, but just my opinion.
