Excellent Sunday Roast for lunch today.

Went Friday night to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Amazing food as always. Lovely decor as it has just been refurbished. Unfortunately the service was extremely slow and we had to ask for everything a couple of times. Still recommend for the quality of food if you aren’t worried about the wait.

Great food, friendly staff. Helped to make a nice family meal out.

Waited over 1hr 40 mins for our order! Food good, and compensated for delay!

Unfortunately, the food was average, the fish was very bad, the coating was thick and very greasy, the beef was rubbery and the gravy was like powder from a bag.

Our Sunday lunch was very good. It arrived very quickly after the order was taken. A good serving of meat & vegetables.

Because we have visited before many times in the past for dinner, whilst passing on 29/2/24, at 1.30pm, called in and asked if we could just have a coffee. Welcomed and invited to sit and await service. Looked at twice by a waitress who had been instructed to attend to us totally ignored. At 1.45pm as our custom was evidently not required we left without service and have determined that we will never patronise this venue again. For the sake of future profitability I trust our experience has not become the "norm".

We popped in for a drink and some food, we were served by Andy who was an absolute delight. He was very attentive and gave us a lovely warm welcome. He is a huge credit to this pub. What a lovely gentlemen.

Went in after a nice long walk, had a drink and the bang bang pork. 6.95£ quite small plate tbh but really nice and tasty. Free parking. Can’t comment on anything else as we only had that.

Amazing gluten free options available. I will definitely be back to work my way through the GF dishes on the menu! I had the steak pie and sticky toffee pudding.

Went for a lunch with a colleague and glad I booked a table as it was busier than I thought for a Thursday lunch. Food was good, staff were very friendly and always ready to help. Plenty of parking and a nice inside. Will be going back.

Lunch today at The Tally Ho was exceptional! 5 star service and 5 star food, we had the squid & mayo nibbles and bang, bang cauliflower, followed by cod & chips and crispy beef salad. Delicious! Highly recommended.

Never seen such rude pub manager. We had booked a table for three people and our dog (prebooked) and when we arrived, no table was available. Told us to wait 30 mins to an hour or sit on a tiny table for two. Rather than apologising, he had the nerve to ignore me when I was talking as well. We decided to leave at the end. This is a local pub to us but will think twice about going back there.

Absolutely phenomenal, loved the food and friendly staff. The batter on my cod was perfect. My only complaint is that the outside seating is very low to the ground, I'm over 6 foot tall and it was a challenge to get up and down to order at the bar. Merely a warning about this fact would have raised everything to a 5 Star. Definitely still coming back though!

First time experience with family. Had heard about this and see it regularly while driving past. Great food, friendly and knowledgeable staff, excellent menu with lots of choices for every taste. Great value for money. Will be back for sure . Highly recommended!!

Haven't been here for ages, and I have to say, the food was amazing, and with two gluten free folk in our party they were amazed that nearly everything was either GF or GF alternatives. Fantastic place, will go again.

Went here for the first time with my family and newborn and the food was beautiful! I am gluten and dairy free and they have so many options which is so refreshing to see! Everything tasted fresh and each dish was full of flavour. The staff were great, they were polite and friendly, the only thing was they were a bit slow when we had finished and our dirty plates sat there for around 20mins before we had to ask for the bill. But the atmosphere is lovely and homely!

The Tally Ho is an amazing place to spend time with friends and family. I’ve been there several times and every time the food was excellent, both taste and presentation. The atmosphere is very cosy and country side like pub. One of the best pubs in the area.

Expensive prices. Small portions. Bad quality food. I bet some people think this is a independent pub. But it's a large chain pub owned by Wagamamas company. Bad chain food. Bad pub food at expensive restaurant prices. I had a salty fish chowder.Hake seemed not fresh. Uncooked pasta.Puddings were nothing to write home about. Food looks ok on plate I guess. Expensive wine and beer to. Definitely overated no idea why people rate so highly much better independent places or chains in the area. Maybe people have no taste. Or don't want to admit they had a bad meal at high cost. Poor slow service from staff to. They also don't sort out a issue if you point it out Should be on Gordon Ramsay's kitchen nightmares. Needs to improve. I have had much better meals in independent pubs.

Had a works Christmas party here. Absolutely fantastic food and service. The atmosphere is cosy and friendly. Can't wait to go back.

Really nice food, the venison pie was fantastic. Good selection of ales too! Only reason it's a 4* not a 5* is the server - my colleague asked for his burger rare only to be lectured by the waiter about why burgers should never be rare. Not only was he incorrect, but his tone was quite rude for talking to a customer!

Booked dinner with my wife and have to say that the welcome was friendly, being shown to our table was quick, food was awesome - each had the lamb Sunday roast - atmosphere was busy but not manic and the staff had time for each customer - perfect. Big shout out to Lauren who served us - very personable and a credit to the team as were her team! Will definitely be back.

Love it here. Sunday Lunch Vegatarian roast is the best for miles around. Had it a few times with a yorkshire pud on the side, which they are kind enough to give me. Great service too!

Having enjoyed a meal at the Tally Ho before and being in the area we decided to stop here for lunch. It was a busy Saturday lunchtime and we hadn't booked but they managed to accomodate us in the restaurant area. As with our last visit, and despite being busy, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the service was quick. I would say the food was slightly above average in price, but was well above average in taste, quality and presentation so overall presented good value. There was also a wide selection of gluten free options. Highly recommended.

Very popular pub. Menu reads really well,but. We had a business lunch so got to see a lot of the menu. I had the fish with lobster tortellini. My dish was very boring. Over cooked pasta. The fish pie looked dried out. The fish and chips just standard. I chose the cheesecake for desert , again read really well, but just below average. The menu is too large to have any real quality. Atmosphere was good. Nice layout. Friendly staff

I have been here a number of times and the standard of the food, service and environment is always excellent. The food is delicious and it's wonderful to have a good bit of space between the tables which makes everything so much more comfortable and private to talk with friends.

Stopped for a bite after a lovely autumnal bike ride.. The pub was quiet, welcoming, with polite, attentive staff. The food was hot and fresh and enjoyable. I sat outside and enjoyed watching the world go by whilst eating a tasty, decent-sized cod and chips. I then moved inside and had a coffee and a nice piece of cheesecake.. Really nice chilled late afternoon food stop.. My ONLY negative point would be for the waiting staff to bring cutlery with the food and not have to go and collect some. I appreciate I was outside with the meal, and at a couch, not a table. But it meant my food was going cold whilst waiting. Inside, I was sort of expected to use the table dinner cutlery, to eat a cheesecake with.. The waitress did ask, to her credit, but I just got on and used the spoon from my coffee.. The appropriate cutlery should be assessed with the meal/seating location.

Great place, great service and good food.

Lovely food, reasonably priced, served in a timely manner by very pleasant waiting staff. Atmosphere OK, nothing special but nothing to complain about either. We sat in the pub section. I like the variety of tables / seating. They give it character. It's one of our locals, and we go here a fair bit, but it's definitely improved in recent years, evidenced by the fact it was so busy on a Tuesday night!

Food was good. Creme brulee was very good.

Solid pub that really is a 4.5 / 5 but i cant quite give the 5. Food delicious just felt the roast portion was a little bit light. 1 slice of the porchetta and about 4 roasties left me wanting more. Decent pint of bitter and polite if overworked staff.

My husband and I had a lovely evening. The food and service were first class. I think this is the same group as The Leather Bottle. The staff at The Tally Ho are much friendlier. Highly recommend.

Good atmosphere excellent food better choice than the average pub food

Took 4 generations of our out for lunch. Both the eldest 92 to the youngest 2 were very well looked after. Great food and a lovely drop of Real Ale.

It was good food but the pub always is charming and located in a lovely nook..Great areas for children to play..Food is good.

We went there in a group of 8 on a team evening meal. The food was incredible and the service was just as good. The waitress that was looking after us went above and beyond to itemise our bill as we would all be claiming it back on expenses. She is an asset to the pub.....or soon to be was an asset......good luck at Uni 😀 Highly recommend The Tally Ho. Great food, great service and a great atmosphere.

The service was appalling had to keep asking why our drinks hadn't arrived and then only half of the food arrived I had to keep asking were was the rest of the food that was ordered which turned up halfway through eating what had been served the evening was totally ruined..

Always a lovely place to have a drink. Dogs are made to feel very welcomed.

We’re lucky enough to be nearby several great pubs, but the Tally Ho is always my go to for almost any occasion. Great seating options outside when it’s hot, under the covered terrace with their heat lamps in the evening, or indoors with a nice cosy vibe.

Favourite restaurant - I would go every day if I could!!

I had the vegetarian burger, which was delicious. We sat outside on the beautiful patio and our server, Grace, was lovely. She recommended dishes and was so friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend Tally Ho, and I recommend Grace unreservedly.

A few drinks in the afternoon turned into more will a selection of small plates which were delicious although expensive.

Waitresses were kind and friendly but the afrikaans man in charge was frightening. Really recommend the scallops (although the portion is very small) and the summer pudding is exquisite. $$$$$

Lovely stop off for lunch. Plenty of choice. Great staff. Complained about fatty lamb, not their fault, suppliers...dealt with it well. Would go back again.

Even on a rainy July day, it was still lovely to sit outside under the canopy being warmed by the patio heaters. Plenty of parking available. Dog friendly venue (go inside and to the left hand side is a small trunk with water bowls and water for your best friend). Varied menu with starters, mains and desserts available. Staff are friendly and will welcome you at your table to take your order. They will also come to check if you need a refill. Large field area for children to play in.

Very small meals. Sticky toffee pudding 2 inch square cost £7-95. Nice food but adults are served child portions. Wonderful Mango cider. The setting of the pub is nice. The weak link is the small meals, you will have to go to the chip shop afterwards

Went for Sunday roast at my son's suggestion...had booked The Barley Mow in Englefield Green which is excellent (no connection)! One of our party was hindu - no chicken dishes on the menu at all...roast or otherwise! Waiter did get her a chicken burger from bbq menu but not the roast we had hoped for. Cauliflower cheese was grey, overcooked and dry @ £5.95 a portion. In my opinion over priced for the quality. Complained the day after (kids embarrassed so didn't do so on the day) re. cauliflower cheese and was promised a voucher....still waiting! The place was busy so maybe it's me but much nicer and superior roasts available locally.
