The Taphouse in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Seated in the “snug” and served by perhaps the friendliest waitress on the planet. Food was outstanding both in variety, freshness and flavours. I especially recommend the lobster poke bowl. Top class cocktails too. So good we booked to go back before we leave Cornwall

What a great find this was. The service was great, the food was awesome. There isn't much parking, about 8 spaces over the road, and the roads to get there are quite narrow but it is so worth it. It can also get very busy so may be worth calling ahead and if they can get you in they will as there are very accommodating.

Very friendly hard working staff food was good and the atmosphere was different to any other eateries in the area. Recommend the rum punch

We returned to the Taphouse after visiting a couple of times last year. We decided to go for the surf and turf option from the specials board. We were not disappointed. We both agreed that this was the best meal we had all week in Cornwall. Service was friendly and efficient. Food cooked to perfection. Would we recommend the Taphouse. yes, yes.yes. The surf vibe was authentic and the live music was fantastic. Great night. Thanks to the Taphouse Team.

Do not sleep on visiting this place, whether you’re in the area or not you MUST take the trip. The service was amazing, food was incredible and the place itself is such a vibe! Wish we found this sooner! I’d give 10 stars if I could

Booked a table for 8 early evening. Parking limited nearby so be aware. Staff friendly and attentive. We had two vegans and two vegetarians in our party. All were catered for and the food was universally met with a thumbs up. A nice vibe in a colourful interior with a surfer dude vibe. Would I recommend it-Absolutely but book as we saw some people turned away as it was busy.

Looks great from outside however if you go in and have fun and Dance you'll get the owner who reminded me of Wayne Lineker tell you off. Complete shambles

Didn’t have a booking but went and chanced it anyway. Thankfully a booking didn’t show and we got seated on the decking. Staff were very friendly the food in the words of a 7 yr old who had the kids fish and chips was ‘I’ve never had fish like that and was banging’. We had the 1/2kg clams and mussels from the specials board, pork tacos, fries, padron peppers and the honey and miso chicken wings washed down with a great tasting cocktail. The restaurant had a good vibe fresh great tasting food definitely worth the visit

Great little find, staff was lovely, food was great. Only down side was no high chairs and boring man sat behind me showing off his life story. Dog friendly, Venue looked amazing. I would definitely return

We happened to find this by accident.. whilst touring the area. We are so glad we found it. This is one very special bar/restaurant.. Due to the excellent food.. alternative and amazing decor.. lovely atmosphere and great staff.. We had steak and fries.. which was lunch deal for 10 pounds.. and was amazing. Had cider with this which was lovely.. We will def return when we are back in the area . Special little place. :)

Popped to St Agnes for the day and found the taphouse whilst looking for somewhere to have lunch. What a fantastic find and now one of our firm favourites. It had several people dining there which is always a good sign, and the phone didn't stop ringing with bookings so clearly very popular and we could see why. The food was absolutely amazing - we had the Malaysian beef dish but there was so much to choose from, and all around the £10/£15 mark. Nice selection of beers and the atmosphere was fantastic - nice soothing music from around the world and lovely vibrant colours inside with lovely cosy little seating areas, very intimate. Very friendly staff and overall a fantastic lunch experience. We will definitely be back and taking friends with us to show off our new find.

I visited it with two friends. The interior is unusual and fascinating with all sorts of items on the walls and beautiful special effect lighting. The sound system was excellent with a great choice of music. But best of all was the food - all three of us enjoyed our really, really good food - I had the best steak I've had for a very long time, and which was better than others I've had costing two or three time more. Friendly and efficient service; all this for a very reasonable cost; we couldn't believe how good it was. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic evening with friends overwinter. The food was excellent and the service too. We were very well looked after. Will definitely be visiting again when next in the area.

A fantastic, lovely and chilled restaurant that has consistently tasty food! Perfect for a relaxed vibrant evening with family or friends. Lots of vegan options - book or else you run a high risk of no tables high season!

Our first visit to the Taphouse with friends who live in Gorran. Had an amazing evening. The food was fantastic, the surroundings? So different & really cool. The staff were very good, helpful, obliging and professional. Looking forward to going back again 👍

Visited by chance at lunchtime. Team were great and menu was a nice change from usual pub fayre - the Poke bowls were great.

Loved everything about this place. Really enjoyed our evening here. My older children especially appreciated the decor and vibe. Great food and cocktails, with friendly staff. The Goan seafood curry with monkfish, prawns and mussels was delicious. The poke bowl with steak was enjoyed and looked fantastic, as did the Tappy burger. If visiting during busier periods, best to book in advance if you want a table to eat, Friday and Saturday nights were very busy. Brilliantly located for visiting after a day on the beach or walking coastal path. If visiting St Agnes, be sure to visit. It seemed really popular with locals and visitors.

Popped in for lunch and had the lunch time steak special for £10… what a bargain. Steak, chips, salad and garlic butter for a tenner. You won’t too that anywhere in Cornwall this summer. The young lads that served me were excellent. Il be back as soon as I can.

Really enjoyed our visit to Taphouse - delicious food, great atmosphere and enjoyed the drinks. Scott was fantastic, had a great sense of humour and made sure everyone was happy and having a great time. Will be coming back and would recommend to anyone visiting the area!

On a wet Wednesday in March , thus pub was quite full , and not surprising . Wide selection of beer , a bit trendy and a bit pricey but ok Limited menu , but everything we had was really tasty . Spicy chicken wings really were spicy , and not the very hot ones. Hake fish of the day , and spicy Buddha bowl were also really good . Dessert well presented and good . I really enjoyed our lunch at the Taphouse today. I am a celiac and it had the most Gluten free options that I have ever had. We had great service from Gabby. I would definitely recommend The Carvery. Already planning a visit for our anniversary.
