1st takeaway from the Tamarind Tree. Really excellent food! King prawn shaslick….v tasty, cooked very well. King prawn tamarind…..super tasty not over salty as most places. Everything else great and two free poppadoms …thanks. Will be coming again. Good parking outside.

A popular and regular haunt for our supplier, who brought us here tonight It’s clear to see why they like this establishment The decor inside is standard, equipped to seat as many as fire safety will allow The service was on top form Friendly, efficient and attentive When the popadoms and condiments came out, my spirits were lifted by the noticeable absence of coriander When I ordered my main of the lamb muglai, a prata and sag aloo and I clearly specified no coriander The response was so casual, that again, my spirits were lifted - they are used to that statement and clearly act accordingly So, you can imagine my disappointment when my sag aloo was liberally sprinkled with the vile green herb In fairness, who I assume is this infamous owner that the other reviews have commented on - Koush - was on it like a rash and a replacement dish was soon brought out and was tasty The lamb dish was also satisfying However, I felt the Prata was either left to sit for too long, after cooking, or just not prepared as well, for it was neither light of fluffy and almost dense and flat like a roti If they had got those two issues right….I would happily have given this a five star review as I thoroughly enjoyed it And the rest of our party clearly did too, judging by the empty plates all round

Seeing the ratings on here is really surprising as we ate there yesterday and the food was bland and cold. I can only assume that they had an off day. The staff were very good though.

First time here and what a great find. Food delicious. The owner “Kush” was extremely hospitable. I highly recommend this restaurant.

11/10 Best Indian food in Berkshire let alone Wokingham, always fantastic, with a genuine warmth in the personal service, we were all well looked after. Koush, Lucy & the service team know how to keep a customer happy. The chefs get our full compliments. Brilliant, will be in again real soon.

This used to be the place to go for a curry in Wokingham. Gone massively downhill over last few visits . Portion sizes are very small and chicken very rubbery . Staff are rude and basically ignore you and are clearly not happy which rubs off on customers. They need to listen to this feedback as many people are saying it . Much cheaper and better options in Wokingham. Don’t bother with this place .

Last minute dinner outing with my family, absolutely wonderful restaurant, amazing, lovely and caring staff members. Food was beautiful as well! Honestly had a wonderful evening! Staff was absolutely lovely to my 11 month old daughter☺️ such a beautiful place to go! Would 100% be returning for another meal with them and will also recommend to family and friends!! Thank you guys you did amazing, keep up with the hard work!! See you again!

We’ve tried many different foods but going here, was definitely the best decision. The staff were very attentive, the food was delicious and good ambience. We had a dish cooked that wasn’t on the menu. Was all lovely. We will definitely return. 5* service

First time trying the Tamarind Tree and it did not disappoint. The food was really tasty and the service was 10 out of 10 which makes all the difference. The staff were extremely welcoming and attentive even though the restaurant was very busy during our visit. It’s clear to see the relationship they have with returning customers. We live in Wokingham and have eaten here many times over the years. Last (saturday) night, we decided to go, so walked in on the off chance of a table. One of the waiters was brilliant and sorted one put for us. Food was great as always. Mixed grill highly recommended. Prawn specials pretty great too. Reason for three stars. A restaurant experience is about food and service. Unfortunately one waiter (who I assume was the main guy, due to his demeanour) was arrogant, rude and when I when any of our table spoke to him, he hardly responded to us in acknowledgement. He was very rude to our friend (who now also lives in the area, when he asked about a curry! Despite this, I went to the bar to pay a tip, as all the others were great... he moved the card machine in front of me without saying a word, not one word. Even after I'd paid the tip, nothing. This rotund head waiter is a pompous, foul little creature and we will not be eating here again. Needs customer service training!

Very poor service and food. Waiter more interested in his phone. No one asked if I was enjoying the food during my meal and the same young waiter threw some orange and a towel down without asking if I had enjoyed the meal. Chicken tikka clearly not fresh but frozen and curry had no taste at all I asked if the onion bhajees were round as flat ones a stodgy. He said yes they were and promptly brought flat ones. Ther are other Indian restaurants at both sides of this one. Suggest you choose one of those.

Yet another visit to this restaurant. I meet my ex work colleagues here every couple of months for a catch up. Excellent food and the staff are attentive and polite. Loads of parking nearby (free after 6pm on week days).

Absolutely amazing meal, fantastic service, great atmosphere. I'm here now and it is Sunday evening and packed, so I'm guessing you need to book, but it really is a fabulous restaurant.

Had a leaflet through door and decided to give them a try. Was not disappointed! We are in bracknell and had it delivered, honestly while I was still eating I was telling my friend how she had to order from here.

Disappointed with our takeaway, especially after being recommended the Tamarind Tree - average at best. Naan was soggy, both our mains were bland and one dish was very watery, so much so we had to drain it off.

Tamarind is a very popular, and well established restaurant in Wokingham. Een thouh they have has to reduce the tables to be Covid 19 compliant, they seem to be doing very well. Service is efficient and the Lamb Bhalti was particularly good.

Got a chicken shashlik takeaway and the tandoori dish was horrible and poor! Firstly, it's very bland and they filled up the takeaway box with two beefy tomatoes with 6 small boneless chicken pieces and charged £9 quid! This is our second takeaway from this place and very disappointed. Never again.

The best Indian takeaway during covid-19 lockdown! We decided to have a weekend treat after visiting the restaurant with friends couple months ago. Also amazing! I asked for a spicy korma and that’s exactly what I got. Brilliant owner.

I have been to The Tamarind Tree on many occasions and always loved it. I’d not been for a while so decided to go this evening... the food remained great as always, but I was disappointed by the rudeness of one of the 2 members of staff who were working this evening. I found him to be very rude and abrupt with us and other customers. This was disappointing and i don’t think we’ll be rushing back

I've not been to the Tamarind Tree for a while (we used to go with work every now and then but we moved offices out of area), but I got a warm welcome on arrival. We had a group of ten, service was great and food tasty. It's definitely my favourite Indian restaurant in Wokingham. More expensive than some, but I'm happy to go back. I still found the overall bill really reasonable. And the lovely owner gave me a drink on the house whilst I was getting the bill. Absolutely no complaints from me and we will be back.

Greeted by the owner as we entered an made to feel welcome. Atmosphere great and served well. We had apart of 15 and food choices great. Food all arrived together and food was lovely. Party of 15 very happy.

I eat Indian cuisine once a month to appease my husband who loves it and I usually just feel cheated out of a good meal. Not here though, it was amazing. Really fresh flavours and not greasy. I loved it. As a vegetarian we went for a range of side dishes and although a little more expensive than most Indians, I was happy to pay for the quality. In terms of the restaurant itself, I would say this is not the type of Indian you go to after hitting the beers all day, but more for a nice night out. No drunken groups in sight. I will be returning soon.

We booked this on a whim based on other people's reviews. So glad we did. It was really busy but we were still served quickly and the staff were really nice. The food was delicious. My husband had the king prawn starter and it was huge! I loved my bhuna balti, just the right level of spice. It's a shame we live 2 and a half hours from Wokingham otherwise this would be a regular night out for us.

On entering the Tamarind Tree you are faced with a long dining room with tables either side and a central walkway. The welcome was fast and genuine taking us to our pre booked table. The menu contained the usual Indian fare at reasonable prices and was very enjoyable.

Been here a couple of times. Food is good but is too expensive and portions seemed too small. I hope they will take this on board as it’s a nice restaurant but lacks value for money.

The place is very pleasant and staff friendly. All dishes were really good including the special made on order. However the dishes were very expensive for an Indian and to be honest not good value for money.

Good food and the service, the menu caters for vegetarians and meat and fish lovers. The service is good giving time to take a good look at the menu, the only down side is it gets noisy when busy which makes talking to friends a bit distracting!

Visited earlier this week for a meal after returning home from a business trip. Arrived about 7.30 was shown to a table. There were a few occupied tables but I wouldn’t class as busy. The staff were very attentive and good humoured. Orders taken for first and main course and didn’t have to wait long for the food. Starters were excellent, i had the stuffed pepper which was really tasty. After we had finished the starters we were asked if we were ready for the main course, I like this, didn’t feel like we were being rushed. Main courses were a mix of curry and side dishes, all hot and served with hot plates, again a big plus.

Been to quite a few curry houses before and overall this was pretty good. Good food and service. Bit pricey. Good atmosphere and clean. Long corridor for the toilets, you will know what I mean if you go.

First of all it's not an Indian restaurant, it's Bangladeshi. They certainly don't have clue about the flavours of Indian cuisine. Very limited veg menu. Staff was arrogant, insisted on calling the main course dishes such as Moter Ponir curry ( it's Matar Paneer actually) as a side.

Hospitality from the team at The Tamarind Tree was great. It had a real buzz last night. The food was full of flavour and Kush made up a dish which was not on the menu and it was delicious. I would recommend a visit one evening.

Several restaurants in Wokingham offer a Sunday Buffet lunch. The Tamarind Tree tends too be higher than most at £10.95. Quite a reasonable selection a Korma, a Marsala, a vegetable curry plus two rice dishes, Nan and chicken tikka. However, we were surprised that all the meat dishes were chicken . When we asked why no other alternative such as lamb, we were told that they had run out of lamb and would not get any for three days! Bizarre!

Restaurant was recommended by my hotel and was not left disappointed. Fantastic food, best Indian I have had for quite some time. Would certainly go back another time.

One of my favourite restaurants when visiting England. I would say an untypical English curry house because of the unique way they cook here. Absolutely delicious.

My family of 4 really enjoyed our dinner here. We came based on the Tripadvisor recommendations and were not disappointed. Service was very attentive and the food was well-spiced and delicious. We moved to the area late 2017 and after trying some great restaurants locally this has quickly become our favourite, the food and service are both incredible, everybody makes you feel so welcome, they treat my wife and daughter like princesses (they are nice to me too!). If you like hot dishes they will make something special for you. Also ask for burnt popadoms, they are very good.

Had the poppadoms with home made dips to start which were delicious. The manager was really enthusiastic to explain how all the sauces were made on site and it was nice to see them take real pride in what they were serving.

Spur of the moment meal out and I was mega impressed. We had some popadoms to start with some delicious dips which the waiter described to us and most of them were made fresh in shop. We were all struggling to decide what we wanted to eat so we told the gentlemen serving us what we each liked and he went away and brought back the perfect dishes. Everything was delicious! I will definitely be going back!

We arrived after having an awful experience in twyford and they looked after us having the best customer service I’ve ever had in a restaurant. The manager was extremely understanding and couldn’t have done anything more to improve his birthday and turn the evening around. Thankyou so much to all the staff for helping me save the evening.

Food lacked flavour. Chefs special exotic chicken was a sliced chicken breast in red flavourless gloopy sauce. Starter , curry and three beers £37 which is way too much. Will not go back or recommend , had better curry in Wetherspoon

My second visit and wasn’t disappointed, a very busy Friday evening and glad we booked as people were being turned away.

First impression of the venue was very pleasant. Nice, clean decor and greeted with an even more welcoming smiley face of Kesh. The presentation of the food was mesmerising and we were told how each dip was made and what it contained. You could hear the pride and passion in Kesh’s voice. The food was flavoursome and succulent. Highly recommended and we are ecstatic to have found such a gem at our door step. Keep up the great work guys. We will be telling everyone about you. H & R :)

Best Indian ( Bangladesh ) restaurant by far in Wokingham ~ clean and very friendly owner and staff . Been going here since it was opened and have never been disappointed ... Being a West Midlander I like to think I know a good curry when I eat one

I haven't visited this restaurant for a while, however enjoyed the ambiance, the staff were attentive. The menu choice is good and the meal was fine.

Had been recommended the restaurant by various friends who claimed it was the best Indian cuisine in Berkshire. I beg to differ. The service was okay. Food was okay. Best part of the meal was the Poppadom which came with various different sauces/dips.
