The Sweet shop Burford in West Oxfordshire

Sweet little shop. We only bought ice cream for our little buddy. The dog ice was great i think - out dog loved it and wanted more.

Unnecessarily rude staff member ruined the experience. Sweet offering also not as good as used to be - have pre bagged certain varieties at a high cost.

I was quite disappointed with the toffee bon bons. I was told they are all from the same supplier, I beg to differ. They taste nothing like the Mr Simms toffee bon bons. I was told there are 2 types, chewy ones and original, it just says toffee bon bons on Mr Simms not chewy!! I won't be buying anymore from anywhere other than Mr Simms!! I agree with all the other reviews, shops amazing with plenty of choice.

Staff were absolutely lovely and friendly the shop is a true old sweetshop which you don't see anymore and not expensive either I felt like a kid again buying sweets with my pocket money 😅

Finally a sweet shop to rival the one in Chipping Norton. Fabulous amount of choice and well laid out, love the focus on the jar sweets and the prices were fantastic. A little higher than the Chippy sweet shop prices but I believe the overall quality may be higher.

While we were looking around this lovely little Cotswold town of Burford again,on another of our many visits,if like me you have a bit of a sweet tooth this is the place for you........It's not very big inside but it is jam packed with almost every sweet you can think of,all displayed in their lovely jars on many shelves in the shop......One of my favourite sweets being the crystallised ginger,so I had to buy a big bag of them as they are so refreshing for your mouth and good for your stomach, The trouble is they don't last long once I get the taste ,I've eaten them already and must get some more soon..... Overall a lovely little shop in a picturesque Cotswold town that must be checked out....👍

A really lovely traditional sweet shop on the main street of Burford. A huge selection to choose from and the staff were both great. Well worth a visit if you’re local, or like us just visiting.

A visual delight. Has just about any type of candy young or old alike could want. Get a special treat for the holidays like sugar mice!

Lovely shop to get gifts of sweets or chocolates. I personally don’t eat candies and sweets but love buying them as gifts so was chuffed to find this store on the High Street!

Amazing place, amazing service and staff….have been coming here for treat weekends the last 7 years….and have never been disappointed. Whether you want traditional sweets from days gone by…or luxury handmade chocolates this is the place to go to!!! Just collected our wedding order of bridesmaid favours and flower girls gifts of various chocolates and sweet varieties from Kieran …completely overwhelmed at the attention to detail…so beautifully presented and such care taken. I cannot recommend this business enough!!! For any occasion, birthdays, weddings, Christmas, or just as a lovely treat for yourself!!! Pay Kieran and his team a visit and he will look after you! Thank you Kieran you are truly one in a million.

An unexpected pleasure awaited me as I enjoyed browsing all the delicious food that was beautifully displayed Fresh and special!!

We popped in, greeted the young man behind the counter. He was pleasant in general. I purchased several selections of chocolates from the glass case. I think 5 of them, it was about 2 pounds 50. They were REALLY good.

Excellent sweetshop to buy some treats: truffles, fudge, handmade chocolates, Easter eggs and respective treats. Prices are good per 100grams. Staff is very welcoming and smiling. The shop is also environment friendly, with recicle bags and boxes. Please visit young adults and of course children too.

Vegan fudge on sale here - and a wide selection of bottles of sweets. 100gms of this, 100grms of that... a great place fro sweet lovers!

We picked up some lovely Christmas presents in this traditional sweet shop. Lots of choice and prices very reasonable. Glad I don't live too near!!!!!

Called in for some butter tablet and fudge. Walked out and tasted the butter tablet and went straight back in for another bag, some cinder toffee and some coconut ice for my mum. So much choice, could’ve spent ages in there. Will definitely pop in again.

Absolutely great. The truffles/creams/individual chocolates (snowman/tractor/ladybird etc) were delicious, such a great shop!

My partner is blind, so to help him appreciate the old-fashioned jars of sweets I picked up one up intending to pass it to him so he could feel it. The person behind the counter rushed over and said this was against the rules for insurance reasons. When I explained why I was touching a jar, he just repeated that it was against the rules. He was very rude and made no effort to make my partner feel welcome in the shop. We left very quickly and will not be returning. (Which is a shame, as my partner is addicted to chocolate limes and was excited to find a shop that might sell them!)

Lovely sweet shop, loads of old sweets from my youth, I live not far from Burfordrea and this was the first time I had been to Burford for a while, came with visiting friends, the customer service of the assistant (or owner - male) I don't know if he was, but he had not charisma, didn't chat, just had a bag almost what do you want attitude, not going to sell much that way, I did buy something, but would of bought more but the service was dire, I really would expect if you are selling such a product as sweets etc you would be enthusiastic about them as we were genuinely enthralled by the array of sweets for sale. I am not a tourist so not sure if they were fed up with tourists going in and then out not buying I don't know. Great shop, please sort out your staff and smile

I loved this little Sweet Shop. Retro-Vintage style with big glasses filled with all sorts of sweet treats. ❤️🌈 Very nice accommodating lady - let us taste the fudge before buying it. Highly recommend the Sea Salt & Caramel Fudge! - Sweet, delicious immediate diabetes 😁

Quaint little sweet shop, such a joy to be in the shop buying all the sweets i used to have as a child. Bought toffee you hit with a little hammer and Turkish delight and Treacle toffee. And reasonable prices too.

Hard to find where on Trip Advisor to write a review for this shop, but I persevered because I really wanted to compliment the owner on great service. On a day trip to Burford I bought some walnut fudge and it was the best I had ever tasted (not that I am a great sweetie eater, but still it was beautiful fudge). I then ordered some more by ringing him up from home and he sent my order straightaway at a discount for volume without my asking and just charging exact postage. Considering how much work I caused him for a sub £20 order I really thought his service was first rate and wanted it made public. The shop itself is in a lovely Burford cotswold stone building with lots of nice jars everywhere, filled with goodies. In spite of the tourists, Burford is a really nice place to visi and the sweet shop is about halfway down the high street.

Really old fashioned looking shop, selling old fashioned sweets! All beautifully displayed in glass jars round the windows. Served in lovely little cones of paper. Must admit I bought one or two of my old favourites...and some of their fabulous chocolates. Naughty but nice!

A delightful old-fashioned candy store offering old- fashioned candies. I am so glad I did not take it for granted and instead splurged to stock up on a range in my favorite flavor, lemon. This stock kept me going during the next three weeks of hard-charging touring. I looked but did not again find a candy store as good as this one, so Excellent it is.

It really is a fabulous old fashioned quaint sweetie shop - perfectly in keeping with Buford village. The staff are a bit surfaced unfortunately - which for me, let the magic of the place down. Great selection of sweeties though, in a fabulous setting.
