The Station Tavern in Milton Keynes

Four of us met for lunch based purely on reading reviews. Pleasantly surprised. The staff were very friendly, the food was very good and the decor is very nice.

Been here many times and it's always good food, always hot and top quality, friendly staff and excellent service

The best breakfast we've had for ages. Perfectly cooked and the menu is very varied, full english to avo and salmon and all in between. The service was excellent, friendly and they accommodated all our requests (which must have been annoying !! ) The pub was packed out with Sat morning breakfast goers and with good reason. Totally recommend 10/10

Never had a bad meal. Breakfast are amazing. Everything perfectly cooked and piping hot all at the same time. Went for the first time for dinner the other night and was just as good. Staff are lovely and friendly.

I had never been in this pub before. On the recommendation of my local CAMRA branch I dropped in a for spot of lunch. It was a pity I was driving, because they were serving a cracking pint of local ale (Phipps/NBC IPA) and I could have drunk a lot more of it if allowed. Ordered a baked potato with chilli beef topping, which came with a lovely crisp side salad. I will back.

What a brilliant morning! We booked a table for 7 on a Sunday morning for a birthday breakfast with the family. We had a fabulous server who was friendly and fun! Breakfasts were all great as always but my husband’s full English was served with a birthday candle 🤣. Excellent!!! The teas and coffees were kept topped up throughout our breakfast from the wonderful servers. As always, it was a great breakfast in a great pub!

We try to breakfast there every Sunday. The food is fab, the staff are happy and engaging and the owners are lovely.

Outstanding service and food. The pub is tastefully decorated. I had a roast and it was outstanding and my son had nuggets off the children’s menu. Special mention to the lady with long silver hair, she goes above and beyond with customer service. She’s a credit to the place.

Visited for breakfast after stepping off the train. I had a small full Englush and my husband had an omelette. Really, tasty, hot and enjoyable food, with plenty of tea. The service was friendly and efficicient. We popped in later on our way back to the station for a pint, again the service was friendly and we sat in the lovely garden at the back.

This is hands down the best breakfast in town; hot, fresh and quality ingredients. Also, the place is spotlessly clean. Payment at the till is a breeze, review on screen, add gratuity and tap and go. Keep up the good work!

Breakfast at the Tavern today was just perfect! Couldn’t have been better. Great food, Great service. What more could you want.

Good old fashioned pub, serving good old fashioned food! Went for breakfast and we were not disappointed, it was freshly cooked and great value for money. I am super fussy about my fried eggs (no, not a euphemism), love a runny yolk, but the white needs to be fully cooked, and the eggs came out perfectly. Unlimited tea or coffee. Really friendly service. Look forward to going back.

After discovering what we thought was a hidden gem the previous month this visit was not what we had expected. Arrived a couple of minutes before 12 to be told no more breakfast orders as they stop at 12. My husband pointed out it was not yet 12 which fell on deaf ears. We were asked our drink order before being shown a table - 2 cokes. Thought this was slightly strange but sat down. Realised by 12-15 we had not seen a staff member again and still had no drinks we realised this was probably their way of spinning out time for our food order to make it too late for breakfast. We left without seeing a member of staff for 20 minutes and no drinks delivered. Won’t be back to be treated like that.

Due to having a house bound mother, takeaway is needed. Had a number of takeaway Sunday roasts during lock down. Another today. The quality and value is consistently good. Staff are friendly and well versed in covid19 precautions.

A friendly and relaxed setting set the mood for a nicd evening meal. The staff services was great, really attentive. Ladies got asked first for drinks and meals arrived for the ladies first too. As they should be. Food was good especially the battered haggis...

Had dinner with friends service was a bit slow and waitress was distracted with other tables my steak was overcooked hunter’s chicken was very small and barbecue sauce was runny and not very tasty won’t rush back

Excellent food at very reasonable prices. Recommend the 8oz Beefburger and also the Steak. Definitely the best in this area by a long way. Friendly landlord and staff make sure everything runs smoothly. Nice congenial atmosphere. Perfect!

This is our third visit to The Station Tavern, we always eat here when we are going on to the Stables. As usual staff are friendly and helpful and food served hot and tasty. Reasonable prices make this pub well worth a visit.

Don’t be deterred by the slightly worn and dated exterior of this pub, the staff are friendly and efficient, good range and quality of food, great value, full bar, sports on TV if you want, quieter dining area if you prefer and even an outdoor terrace for sunnier weather. Worth a visit, we have returned many times since.

Visited for a family breakfast on the basis of other good reviews on tripadvisor. Was told by two separate local people that the place was very run down and a bit of a dump. They clearly haven't been in recently. Yes, it could still do with some money spending but it was clean and the service was friendly. We had a delicious breakfast which was cooked well, very tasty and not at all greasy or swimming in fat as some can be. Very reasonably priced with tea/coffee and toast included. There is a ramp for wheelchair users at the entrance (not sure if this is out permanently or was put out when I phoned ahead to check access) but no disabled toilet. Access to the gents is down a step. There is level access to the ladies toilets but the doorway and corridor from the bar is quite narrow so it took a bit of manoeuvring and would be harder at busy times. Overall, a very enjoyable breakfast at a price and quality that would be hard to beat. Give it a try!

Well once again we had need for a meal before going to the Stables Wavingdon . So we tried the Station inn again and once again we had a very nice meal Staff very good Land lady also very helpful well worth a visit

We went for a late breakfast and really enjoyed it. Staff friendly and helpful as were other customers. Big portion, good value and breakfast selectionas good. Best in the area for brekkie thats for sure and we have tried a few!

Six of us stopped for a meal at the station tavern which we had booked early that day ,we all enjoyed our dinner so much we will be going back on our next visit to the stables no complaints good food and nicely served

Food might be great but didn't get it...not told when ordered it would take a while to receive the food. Didn't expect to have to wait long for a basic cheese toastie but I did and it never came.

I had nervous parents to feed and entertain over Christmas. I think we went about 5 times during Christmas week. Food amazing, service quick and friendly, no matter how busy they were. Made my parents feel very welcome and comfortable, even the locals were chatting to us. I would recommend to anyone.

Always enjoy popping in for a drink or bite to eat at various times of the day. The coffee is great too while the car is being washed across the road. Good beers and good wines by the bottle or glass! December menu looks great value as well, Kev is passionate about his food which is really good ! See you soon

We went last week for breakfast and it was lovely. Good gluten free breakfast and friendly service. My wife had the vegetarian option and said it was so good she could have eaten that twice. Lol

We went here for a meal before going to The Stables. The food helpings were generous and good value. The service was attentive without being intrusive. Next time I am going to The Stables I will probably heat here again!

Fantastic breakfast, the best around by far. Well cooked and presented, and very generous portions. Great service. It’s well worth a visit !

Simply the best breakfast for miles around. Friendly and their steaks rock. Go with family, go with Dog, go go go. Also it still has Pub qualities in the way of a pool table... which I love

Stopped by on the way home on the off chance they had space for us. Excellent welcoming service, knowledgeable advice on drinks/menu. More than happy to accommodate us. Best food we’ve had in a long time, including our usual London hotspots, wonderful home cooked food. Comforting and tasty. Will return to try the breakfast very soon!

Booked here on St Patrick's Day for lunch - it was my husband's birthday and we had our 3 year old daughter with us and our dog. We were able to sit in the bar area & enjoy lunch; steak sandwich & beefburger for us and fish fingers for our little one. Great place for families and a bit further away from the main drag of the Woburn Sands high street, prime custom is the station where its located. Really friendly staff & they were great with our daughter. Definitely coming here again!

This indicates on the sandwich board outside that it is famous for its breakfasts so we thought we would try it and one can only say that it certainly does provide an excellent choice of breakfasts, normal, large or Mega and they are just that, good value and delicious. I asked if I might swap the hash browns for the bubble and squeak and was told I would have to buy it in addition as they don't do swaps and then slightly later one of the locals was allowed to do a swap - so they need to be fair to all - but I forgave them that peccadillo for providing a lovely breakfast, excellent service and most importantly all with a smile to a perfect stranger - thank you!

Stayed overnight in their annexe. Very basic, no frills, but perfectly adequate. It was clean and comfortable.

We popped in at about 11am for breakfast, the place was really busy mainly with construction workers. The food was good value and included a large pot of tea for 2, the only disappointment was the temperature in the bar, it was as cold inside as it was outside. We will go again hopefully on a warmer day.

Very friendly bar lady and dog friendly! Food is basic pub food but nicely cooked, 2 real ales on the pumps. Decent wine prices and friendly locals, well worth calling in.

Had a wonderful birthday breakfast and most importantly for me gluten free. We go at least once a month knowing I won’t be affected with any wheat contamination.

Nosotros, una familia de 5) apareció en el último minuto para tomar un aperitivo antes de la cena la otra noche. Nos dieron una preciosa mesa en la ventana, y el servicio era rápido y eficiente. Teníamos el pastel del día (bistec y uso) que me dijeron era fabuloso, mi carne era genial y sobresaliente todo el mundo a la izquierda los platos vacíos. Un par de postres y una ronda de bebidas vi la factura venga a alrededor de 75 libras, lo cual es una excelente relación calidad-precio. Sin duda alguna volveremos. Quizás en una de las noches de carne.

A wholesome breakfast of the traditional English variety. Good for families, friends and couples. Places to sit in and out on a good day. An enjoyable morning no rush.

I went here with my grandparents, my mum, auntie, uncle and cousin. I had a small roast of the day which was amazing and filled me up wonderfully.

We frequent The Station frequently, mostly for breakfast, which never fails to be delicious and hot. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere.We have also had some lunches and dinners there which are varied and delicious too. Their Burns Night/lunch was a big success for us.

We came here for Sunday lunch, the Station Tavern having been recommended by some of my mother-in-law's friends. Great roasts, between us we had beef, chicken and pork and all were very good. Also had a couple of desserts which again were scoffed very quickly! Service was good, timely and attentive. No fancy food, just straight forward good quality hearty pub grub!

Have lunched here a couple of times and the menu does not try to be clever.There is a good selection, with a mix of traditional pub fare and a few popular 'of the moment' dishes.I have had the avocado and prawn salad a couple of times and great value for money.The service is always friendly and genuine.

A spur of the moment decision to eat out lead us to the Station Tavern. What a bit of luck that was, a warm and friendly welcome from staff, great food served up freshly cooked and served by helpful staff in good time. There was 6 of us and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Prices very reasonable. Definitely one to return to in future.

I've eaten here on two occasions in the last year, and enjoyed both meals enormously. This is honest English food, and plenty of it. The liver and bacon was delicious and masses of vegetables and, thank goodness, NO chips. As a place to eat with friends it is ideal, comfortable and not pretentious, and yes, I will be going back.

Go go go here for great steak n eggs friends, family or alone you won't be disappointed. Dogs welcome too which is fab xxx

The staff at the station couldn't be more friendly and helpful. We love to pop over and have one of the famous station breakfasts when we get the chance.

Popped in to the staion tavern as car was being serviced up the road.Had their large English breakfast and wow! what a great meal.Coffee included in price and they have free refills.Free WIFI too,a must if your passing

Made my third visit here in just six months. Quiet but efficient. However the makeover designed to attract residents of the new housing development next door seems very DIY. Don't think they had any designer input, which is a shame because there's very little in the way of upmarket eateries in Woburn Sands, so this seems a missed opportunity.

We went here today 10 mins after they finished serving food but the welcoming lady behind the bar said she would check and sure enough they said they could feed us, we all had a great meal and we were looked after very well the staff were great and we were not rushed. Will be back again real soon

Wonderful refurbishment very light and contemporary. friendly staff and excellent pub grub the Mr whippy ice cream is delicious good wine selection and reasonably priced. Worth a regular visit

The Station Tavern, previously known as the Station Hotel, has been a popular place for hearty, no-nonsense breakfasts for many years now. Since its recent upgrade to Tavern status, some fresh paint and kitsch-but-cute interior decor, it has moved its breakfast offering from good to very good.Given that even in modest small town of Woburn Sands we now have an Italian cafe serving everything just like Mamma used to make and a delightfully eclectic brasserie serving everything from smoked salmon breakfasts to Maltese coffee, the Station Tavern had some hard acts to follow.Wisely, it hasn't tried to get too exotic and fancy; it has focused on developing and refining what it has always been good at, i.e. popular British breakfast favorites, combining those with some thoughtful alternatives for people with gluten problems.You can even have a portion of chips (fries) with your breakfast. Now if that isn't a new take on an old British tradition, I don't know what is!

This place used to be a beery, smoky dive but, thanks presumably to a development of smart houses being built nearby, it has had a wash and brush-up. They've tried hard, but the décor is very DIY and clearly a designer wasn't hired. However, the service was friendly enough. Decent selection of real ales but the food looked like fairy dull pub grub. If they could step up a level in time for the first trains from Oxford, due to arrive next door from March 2019, it could be worth journeying to.

This place is under new ownership and they are very friendly and trying their very best to up the image a bit. It wouldn't be somewhere I would go back to for the food, but if I had friends in town and we wanted somewhere friendly for a drink, we would walk here

Visited The Station tavern for breakfast. The food was tasty and hot and the coffee was filtered. Worth a visit to kick start your day.

Had lovely evening food sat in the tavern,watching the sun go down on the decking topped off by great,friendly and welcoming staff definitely be coming again. Wide variety of food something for everyone and will be coming to try the basket menu on Thursday.

Stopped in here this evening on the basis of it being recently refurbished, I was expecting a something more than what I got, the pub is ok, there is a nice'ish outside area, overall the pub is standard at best!The menu is very basic standard pub fair, I had a plain burger, which to be fair was nice and was big, but overall the place was nothing to write home about; I eat out a lot and my expectations are quite high admittedly, the Station Tavern just didn't deliver in my book..On a positive note the Morreti lager was very nice and the staff were friendly!

Recently refurbished, the Tavern is now the place to be seen and to eat!Fab food and outstanding service, where you will always receive a very warm welcome make the Tavern hard to beat - the afternoon tea is spot on and amazing value, a place we will go back to time and time again.
