Like the pub but it would be nice if the glasses were clean. Just sent back two wine glasses out of 3 that had lipstick on. Nice staff and manager though.

Steak Tuesday, so I took advantage of the 10oz Gammon and eggs with a jacket potato for £8.50 ish. The meal came with a choice of soft drinks or hot. J chose an AF Guinness. Small beer garden at the back and an even smaller one at the front. All in all great value for money.

Met up with family for a drink and a chat , good atmosphere and cheap beer, what more do you want.

It's a spoons so food and service are the same group wide. Atmosphere is ok as not seen a fight there yet.

On 23rd Jan I ordered the Tripple cheese and bacon burger. It gave me food poisoning. 😔 I was sick when I got home. I have been there before and never had a issue. Just a one off I hope.

Normally I enjoy Sunday breakfast in The Oak. But unfortunately some Football Bores ask to turn the tv to football and the volume up . It changed the whole atmosphere of the pub to accommodate these selfish people.The Oak gets busy because it has great staff and a nice atmosphere but not today. Adding to that the swearing from same people made me think it’s time to move on some where else.

Staple Hill Oak ran out of Guinness beer a few days ago. Friends and regulars had to choose other pubs in the area to drink such a popular and delicious beer in the festive days before New Year's Eve. As a regular myself, I was forced to choose another pub because the management could not responsibly ensure that such a popular beer did not run out of stock over the New Year period. In my opinion, this raises some questions. How is it possible that a Wetherspoon could not do what all the smaller pubs in the area could do, to make a popular product available during the busy festive period? That's pretty unprofessional for such a popular company at such a busy time.

As far as spoons go I think this one is fairly decent

I come here once or twice week with my partner for drinks and to see friends I am disabled person and I am wheelchair user and I came in here this evening and I found it very difficult to move in my wheelchair around so many tables and it is difficult to get to entrance to go in and out of

3 of us went for a meal. All 3 meals were luke warm. My rice was cold. We also ordered the extra 4 papadams and onion bahjies and only 3 of each turned up. The pints of leffe. Beer were o k But overall not too impressed. Have been in better wetherspoons. May be it was an off night. The most entertaining thing was the security guy. 5 stars for him.

Nice Spoons. Got a very 'local' feel which negates the usual clinical vibe of this chain.

It's a Wetherspoon so you know what you're doing to get. The service and food was among the best. Bonus the toilets were in the ground floor and not a million miles away

Ordered two sirloin steaks well done that came so tough cut hardly get the knife through.Told a member of staff who apologised and offered an alternative,we said we would have gammon as a replacement,however the manager became involved and said because we had eaten some of the she ssid could offer a free sweets!and the steak was only tough because it was well done.After we pointed out had only eaten some of the chips and peas but no steak she said we could have two steaks medium cooked with no chips etc.When they arrived they were

As a regular customer, I have recently noticed a significant decline in hygiene, which is extremely disappointing. On multiple occasions, I have witnessed the staff neglecting to clear away leftover food, dirty glasses, and plates from previous customers. These unsanitary conditions greet new guests as they arrive, creating a very unpleasant atmosphere. Furthermore, when requesting that a sticky, dirty table be cleaned, the staff often fails to return after serving the order, leaving customers to dine at filthy tables. I am also concerned about the hygiene standards in the kitchen, given the poor state of cleanliness in the pub. In light of these issues, I am now hesitant to consume food here, which is a stark contrast to how the pub used to be—a clean and welcoming environment. Tables cleared, tables cleaned, bar sparkling, toilets ok. Ale selection good. Staff pleasant. In my opinion the best kept Wetherspoon in the region ((despite it not being my local due to public transport limitations).

I come to this pub quite often and would say that it's the best Wetherspoons in the area, the staff are so friendly that they know most customers by name, it's like a home from home, l have been to the Van Dyke in Fishponds and waited 30 minutes to be served, whilst at The oak, l have never waited more than 5 minutes highly recommended

This has to be the best Wetherspoons in Bristol, the staff are so friendly, the service is prompt, the tables are cleaned regularly ,the food is good, delivered quickly and always with a smile, would highly recommend

we met my brother and kids for his birthday on Sunday,,it was busy being the evening but i found the staff very friendly and helpful more so over the steak i wanted ,we sat at a big table which the staff had put together for us at short notice,so thanks. quality of food and service 5 ***** well recommend, mixed grills all round , lovely ,don't for get the real ales they have. Decent pub, good value for money, found some of the staff very rude to customers especially that blonde woman, time and place love

I used to come to this place quite often, which has good food and friendly waiters. But after today's situation in the evening, when an employee of the pub with his food, as far as I understand he is your security guard, came to me without asking me in a rude manner. He started to move the table, almost spilled my drink, laid out his food, and began to eat loudly talking to his mate. At the same time, there were many other free tables on the terrace, but I understand that he didn't care about it at all. If even the security staff allow themselves this kind of behaviour, then I don't understand for what they work there.

The 1st time there, I just moved to the area and very nice food and service. I will use again for sure

Chose to venture out to this Wetherspoons for a few drinks. We usually support local businesses but convenience opted for our priority today. The drink choice was average and the cleanliness was on par. Only positive was the smiley and kind waitress, who seemed to be doing more than one job spontaneously! Believe her name to be Daisy (hubby can’t quite remember (sorry!)). Would visit again if we had to stumble across the area again.

A lot of people, a lot of noise, delicious, just enough food. Good mood.

Possibly my favourite wetherspoons in Bristol because its not the darkest place on earth. I'd say there was a guy trying to steal people's bags and the staff didn't kick him out which was a bit disconcerting and another customer ended up arguing with him. I was slightly disappointed the staff let the thief stay. I just know to have my bag somewhere obvious.

Food is great for a cheap place to eat although I dont come to eat here ofter. Drinks are cheap and I usually come here for a cheap cocktail night. Service is friendly and quick and they are always happy to have a chat where possible!

I come here for drinks frequently and I know I can always rely on Menna to give me 10/10 she’s always cheerful and doesn’t mess my order up! She’s an outstanding employee a real cut above the rest.

Nice staff. Food arrived quickly & was nice and hot. Good price. The only downside was the dirty chairs & floor, were we had to sit.

Affordable food served quickly. 2 meals & 4 coffees cost us £16 Staff were helpful polite & quick. Reasonable parking on street & small car park. For a cheap meal of decent quality you can't beat it.

I couldn't give a score for the chicken I was served. The response from the duty manager was offensive to me. As for the future, you won't se me in a Wetherspoon again. No response from head office.

Waited a hr for food to come out it was cold floor dirty tables needed a clean won’t come back to this place again

We went there on Sunday 14th January it took quite a while to get served some people were walking out we ordered food the cola was tasteless and almost clear had to wait for cola to be changed when the food came the chips beyond burger and the peas were cold there were no serviettes we were told they were short staffed we won't be going there again

Pop in for a regular size Breakfast on Wed 13th Sep 2023 The manager took my order when I was at the bar. He also was easy to speak to delivered my hot food to my table withn 12mins It was plain to see that the manager was doing his very best. Keep on top of everything working very hard to ensure he delivered a top quality service on a demanding morning getting it done. This is one of the more modern Wetherspoons. There is plenty of space, and wall posts of local places and history.

One of my favourite Spoons. Friendly staff and a good atmosphere. Breakfast is good value although quality and portions are not as good as they used to be. Toast was standard bread where it used to be farmhouse. Bacon, beans and mushrooms were cold, while the rest of the food

Have been here several times and love there chicken tikka masala however menu states served with rice naan bread poppadoms & mango chutney but have yet to get the mango chutney when I query this am told its not available this is not just a one off am guessing there is a world shortage of mango chutney so no big deal.

As the old saying goes 'you get what you pay for'. Well I very much enjoyed a quick lunch in this venue. For the £8 I spent on a large diet coke and ham, egg and chips was quite delicious. Simple yes but quick and cheap plus the food and quick service was more than adequate. Eggs were runny and nice, chips cooked well and the ham was very nice and plentiful. I also shared a very delicious ice cream and fudge cake. Very well done The Staple Hill Oak, tremendous effort.

Never disappointed with a Wetherspoons pub. Always a lovely atmosphere and the beer is always if the best quality.

Very busy but still served quickly. Plenty of tables indoors and the pub is situated close to the main road where there were enough free parking spaces in the street.

When I was younger, I had a dream where I walked into a house full of old men that looked like me, slowly sipping at a pint. Their eyes all turned to me with an expression that I did not recognise. And as I turned around to leave, the door jammed and I realised that I was in here forever and the look the old men gave me as I walked in was understood in an instant. They knew I would end up just like them, another body through the door, consumed by time, and they were exhausted of pity and sadness, they were men comatose with apathy. And I was doomed to become another. That feeling of the tragic inevitable entropy was reawakened in this wetherspoons with a devastating magnitude of de ja vu. I rembered something that never happened and I am not the same. Good bangers and mash 👍
