What a gem! This is a great spot to meet up for some drinks, the staff were helpful and happy to make recommendations. We will definitely be back for food at some point soon

Service is efficient and very friendly (in particular Summer, is brilliant), food above your average pub grub at particularly price point. Surrounding clean and tidy. Overall a welcoming bar that the brand (Greene king) should be proud of.

A Champions League Catastrophe Venturing out on a Champions League night while working away, I sought a classic pub experience: a pint of fine ale or refreshing lager and a hearty meal. Instead, I stumbled upon a culinary nightmare. The menu, rather than offering just the usual pub fare of pies, burgers, and chips, presented a monstrosity: the Beyond Meat Sprout Pesto Burger. A concoction that defies logic and taste. A plant-based patty, a pungent pesto, and a heaping pile of sprouts? It's as if the chef had a personal vendetta against food. The plant-based patty, in itself is bad enough. But then sprouts? Sprouts, the bane of Christmas dinners everywhere? A vegetable so universally disliked, it's often relegated to the dinner plate as a punishment. And now, it's been elevated to burger status. My ancestors, the valiant hunters and gatherers, would be turning in their graves. They fought and sacrificed for the right to enjoy a good steak or a hearty roast. Little did they know their legacy would be reduced to this: a sad excuse for a meal. I left the pub, disillusioned and fearing I could never eat again.

Super welcoming and friendly staff, great hot drinks and lovely freshly cooked hot lunch. Very nice place to be and to take a break from shopping in the city.

During our stay in Bristol, we needed a quick place to eat for a few nights. We were glad to find this bar, where the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The service is quick, and we've returned several times. The food is exactly what we were looking for, and hope Greene King value the team here!

Decent food, good beer reasonable prices and good location.

Don't think the place had been cleaned for a while spilt drinks on tables and chairs didn't stay to eat as thought it might be a health hazard not impressed

I liked this pub . As a solo traveller the bar staff were happy to watch my bags as i went upstairs for a pee. I happened to be there when a quiz started so i joined in alone, there was a round that needed 2 people so the staff found me a quiz mate and we won our round 😁. I had a great night and would definitely go here again

We visited here for the first time today. We were happy with the food and drink but what really made this experience exceptionally good was our server Summer who went above and beyond. She was so diligent, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. She is very good at her job and I hope she is recognised for this. Thank you Summer!

Was served by Sam who had great customer service. He recommended dishes which was great. Good atmosphere and very friendly nice to sit on the other side of the bar for a change.

Went to the Bay Horse last Sunday whilst on a coach trip to Bath and Bristol , lovely friendly staff and fabulous food , my Daughter and I shared a platter which was really good , would have had the Sunday Lunch it looked great , but we were on a tight schedule so didn't have enough time . Would thoroughly recommend a visit, very comfortable and good atmosphere

Clean, tidy, spacious. Easy to nip in during stay. Relaxed. Nothing special when set against the huge range of eating and watering holes around central Bristol but if you’re killing time or need a snack and a pint while catching up on phone or pad then this place works.

I Was in Bristol for the weekend from London and was walking around taking in the atmosphere. Stumbled on this place as a pit stop. Had fish and chips and a pint Nice staff, good service. Let my mate know I was here. And finally enough he drinks in the same pub! So double endorsement. Will cost again, when I am in town.

I was part of a large group of friends (choir) who had our evening meals over 3 nights and Sunday roast. Davina and staff were all so lovely, polite, friendly and efficient. They did a great job of providing 30+ meals on time and together, which all tasted delicious. The steak and ale pie was a firm favourite.

Nice place for a lunchtime beer. Outside seating to watch the world hurry along. Do get pestered with the homeless but no fault on the pub.

We are a visiting choir who were singing in the Cathedral and staying nearby. We booked in to the Bay Horse for 3 eveninng dinners and Sunday lunch. There were 35 of us in total and Davina and her staff were just fantastic. The service was impeccable and all the staff were very friendly, made us feel very welcome, and coped admirably with our complex orders and last minute changes.

Bao bun was amazing, no need explaining, but the food warmed my tum. Go to bay horse and have some fun, the food was one thing but the server Sully was a cool dude !

Called in to the bay horse this week. Had a beautifull meal the staff were very friendly a lovely atmosphere The food was piping hot and lovely to have nice condiments like heinz to go with are meal I most defo be visiting in here again lovely fresh ice cold beer to top it off well done bay horse lovely to see lovely staff serving you with a smile and the blonde waitress was very polite and asked us if are meal was.ok top marks for the bayhorse broadmead. Came for Sunday lunch. Pub has a nice calm ambience at midday, lots of good beer choices, staff were friendly. Our lunch was not great though, slightly cheaper than average Sunday Lunch for Bristol but the quality was not worth the gap in price. Felt like the food was all reheated. We had the beef and chicken options.

The bay horse is a lovely pub we stumbled upon on our visit to Bristol. The food here is excellent, I had the pleasure of trying their award winning steak and ale pie which did not disappoint! It is what I would consider a traditional pub pie, beating every other eateries idea of what a pie is. My fiancé had the macaroni cheese which he enjoyed also. The pub was nice and quiet at the time we visited, but I can imagine it’s a great hot spot in the evening for drinks and possibly watching sports on the TV. Both staff members we interacted with were friendly and welcoming and made our experience even nicer. I would recommend the bay horse as a nice stop for lunch if you’re in the area.

We just went for a drink, so I can't comment on the food (though it looked and smelled nice from what we saw at other tables). It was a Saturday afternoon, and we'd just got off a hot coach, and the pub was close by, it wasnt very full. It was cool indoors and they had cold beer... did the job.

Just wow! I absolutely loved my time here :) I came in after a walk through the pouring rain, and was greeted by the friendliest staff member ever. His kind attitude and attentiveness made my experience truly memorable. The food was absolute delectable and the Guinness was creamy as ever! I cannot extended my gratitude enough x

We were staying at the Premier Inn across the road, so not far to wander. We ate here twice it was so good. On the first occasion we had a steak sandwich (delicious, steak was so tender and perfectly cooked), a burger (which our teen couldn’t finish, it’s a bit of a monster), and a steak pie (which was vast! Delicious though), on the second visit hubby and I shared a pie, and our teen had the nachos which they enjoyed. Prices were reasonable. Would recommend this to anyone looking for some decent pub grub. Staff were friendly.

No surprise. It's central Bristol so should be busy. Don't bother with this place it belongs in a waiting room for deceased pubs. Greene king you should be ashamed!

Ordered one of our favourite lunches at Green King Pubs. Very disappointed. We have been in numerous Green King Pubs in London and the same meal was much superior for the same price. In London you get a large grilled cheese toastie which you struggle to finish on your own; here the bread was inferior and i had no problem eating myself. However there is a good selection of beers and wines if you just want a drink after shopping at Cabot Circus.

Attractive old pub in the Bristol city centre which nevertheless has all been a bit stripped back and feels as if it might be part of a chain. Still, we enjoyed the food - Bao buns, cod goujons, excellent chips and coleslaw. Spacious and not too noisy. Friendly, efficient service. £34.60 for four dishes and drinks for three.

Ok, maybe I had other expectations, but this is more of a bar then a pub. They serve pub food, but the quality is avarage. So, if you want to go to a real pub, don't go here. But like I said, my mistake for not checking thoroughly.

Met my mother At the bay horse the other day for a catch up and some food. 5⭐️ all a round. Staff were absolutely amazing! So polite patient and helpful. Food was lovely, it was served at the perfect temperature and very quickly. Drinks were cold and refreshing. Staffed served us with a smile on their face the whole time. Atmosphere is brilliant, the whole pub/restaurant was filled with laughter and conversation. The sitting area is kept to clean and tidy, there is plenty of seating to choose from with some tables outside also. Lovely place with lovely staff! ❤️

This homely pub is a really lovely refuge in Bristol's busy city centre - easily my favourite in the area. The décor is bright and vibrant, there's an extensive selection of beers, and the bar staff have always been friendly, engaging and helpful. The menu has a mix of pub classic and more individual dishes. As a veggie, I'm a fan of the number of vegetarian options they have in particular since this is something that is often lacking in classic British pubs; I can especially recommend the mushroom chilli! But if not for food, come for the friendly atmosphere, great service and beers!

Well I turned up at about 9pm and it seemed like a nice little pub. But at 10pm it changed. It was as if it became an underage drinking den and the teachers turned up. A surly and angry barmaid told us to ‘drink up and get out because we are shutting’. At 10:30. In what purports to be a pub. My local does better than this; and my local is rubbish.

Went there while out doing Christmas shopping and was the first time back after many years. Lovely atmosphere and food was great and reasonably priced. Returned again a few weeks later, very busy, but didn't have to wait too long for food, which again was lovely. Staff friendly and helpful.

Somehow this place has legitimately the crispiest and best tasting chips I've ever had in my life. I don't know if it's a fluke and they just changed the oil or what but by god their seasoned fries are amazing. Onion rings were perfect as well. We only ordered a couple of sides but if their quality is indicative of the rest of the food then the chef is doing a damn good job. Nice atmosphere and decent pints as well.
