Friendly bar staff and good beer, they dealt with me being completely dense for about 15 minutes at the bar and still served me

I'm was on a day out to Bristol and only went into the pub because the skies opened! I'm glad I did... The place is clean and inviting, the staff were lovely and the customers smile! When in Central Bristol, give it a try.

I was served by a lovely girl- by the name of Olivia. She was so friendly and made me feel like part of the family!! Thank you such a good introduction to Bristol

I Was in Bristol for the weekend from London and was walking around taking in the atmosphere. Stumbled on this place as a pit stop. Had fish and chips and a pint Nice staff, good service. Let my mate know I was here. And finally enough he drinks in the same pub! So double endorsement. Will cost again, when I am in town.

I was part of a large group of friends (choir) who had our evening meals over 3 nights and Sunday roast. Davina and staff were all so lovely, polite, friendly and efficient. They did a great job of providing 30+ meals on time and together, which all tasted delicious. The steak and ale pie was a firm favourite.

Nice place for a lunchtime beer. Outside seating to watch the world hurry along. Do get pestered with the homeless but no fault on the pub.

We are a visiting choir who were singing in the Cathedral and staying nearby. We booked in to the Bay Horse for 3 eveninng dinners and Sunday lunch. There were 35 of us in total and Davina and her staff were just fantastic. The service was impeccable and all the staff were very friendly, made us feel very welcome, and coped admirably with our complex orders and last minute changes.

Bao bun was amazing, no need explaining, but the food warmed my tum. Go to bay horse and have some fun, the food was one thing but the server Sully was a cool dude !

Called in to the bay horse this week. Had a beautifull meal the staff were very friendly a lovely atmosphere The food was piping hot and lovely to have nice condiments like heinz to go with are meal I most defo be visiting in here again lovely fresh ice cold beer to top it off well done bay horse lovely to see lovely staff serving you with a smile and the blonde waitress was very polite and asked us if are meal was.ok top marks for the bayhorse broadmead. Came for Sunday lunch. Pub has a nice calm ambience at midday, lots of good beer choices, staff were friendly. Our lunch was not great though, slightly cheaper than average Sunday Lunch for Bristol but the quality was not worth the gap in price. Felt like the food was all reheated. We had the beef and chicken options.

The Food is wonderful to eat, the customer service is always 100% come rain or shine you will always be welcomed at the Bay House with a hello and a smile 👍👍👍👍👍

Nice pub and fairly decent prices considering being in the city centre. There is an outside seating area which is a bonus. Toilets are clean 👌🏻

The bay horse is a lovely pub we stumbled upon on our visit to Bristol. The food here is excellent, I had the pleasure of trying their award winning steak and ale pie which did not disappoint! It is what I would consider a traditional pub pie, beating every other eateries idea of what a pie is. My fiancé had the macaroni cheese which he enjoyed also. The pub was nice and quiet at the time we visited, but I can imagine it’s a great hot spot in the evening for drinks and possibly watching sports on the TV. Both staff members we interacted with were friendly and welcoming and made our experience even nicer. I would recommend the bay horse as a nice stop for lunch if you’re in the area.

We just went for a drink, so I can't comment on the food (though it looked and smelled nice from what we saw at other tables). It was a Saturday afternoon, and we'd just got off a hot coach, and the pub was close by, it wasnt very full. It was cool indoors and they had cold beer... did the job.

Just wow! I absolutely loved my time here :) I came in after a walk through the pouring rain, and was greeted by the friendliest staff member ever. His kind attitude and attentiveness made my experience truly memorable. The food was absolute delectable and the Guinness was creamy as ever! I cannot extended my gratitude enough x

We were staying at the Premier Inn across the road, so not far to wander. We ate here twice it was so good. On the first occasion we had a steak sandwich (delicious, steak was so tender and perfectly cooked), a burger (which our teen couldn’t finish, it’s a bit of a monster), and a steak pie (which was vast! Delicious though), on the second visit hubby and I shared a pie, and our teen had the nachos which they enjoyed. Prices were reasonable. Would recommend this to anyone looking for some decent pub grub. Staff were friendly.

No surprise. It's central Bristol so should be busy. Don't bother with this place it belongs in a waiting room for deceased pubs. Greene king you should be ashamed!

Ordered one of our favourite lunches at Green King Pubs. Very disappointed. We have been in numerous Green King Pubs in London and the same meal was much superior for the same price. In London you get a large grilled cheese toastie which you struggle to finish on your own; here the bread was inferior and i had no problem eating myself. However there is a good selection of beers and wines if you just want a drink after shopping at Cabot Circus.

Attractive old pub in the Bristol city centre which nevertheless has all been a bit stripped back and feels as if it might be part of a chain. Still, we enjoyed the food - Bao buns, cod goujons, excellent chips and coleslaw. Spacious and not too noisy. Friendly, efficient service. £34.60 for four dishes and drinks for three.

Ok, maybe I had other expectations, but this is more of a bar then a pub. They serve pub food, but the quality is avarage. So, if you want to go to a real pub, don't go here. But like I said, my mistake for not checking thoroughly.

Met my mother At the bay horse the other day for a catch up and some food. 5⭐️ all a round. Staff were absolutely amazing! So polite patient and helpful. Food was lovely, it was served at the perfect temperature and very quickly. Drinks were cold and refreshing. Staffed served us with a smile on their face the whole time. Atmosphere is brilliant, the whole pub/restaurant was filled with laughter and conversation. The sitting area is kept to clean and tidy, there is plenty of seating to choose from with some tables outside also. Lovely place with lovely staff! ❤️

Nice vibe, good cocktails and quick service

This homely pub is a really lovely refuge in Bristol's busy city centre - easily my favourite in the area. The décor is bright and vibrant, there's an extensive selection of beers, and the bar staff have always been friendly, engaging and helpful. The menu has a mix of pub classic and more individual dishes. As a veggie, I'm a fan of the number of vegetarian options they have in particular since this is something that is often lacking in classic British pubs; I can especially recommend the mushroom chilli! But if not for food, come for the friendly atmosphere, great service and beers!

Well I turned up at about 9pm and it seemed like a nice little pub. But at 10pm it changed. It was as if it became an underage drinking den and the teachers turned up. A surly and angry barmaid told us to ‘drink up and get out because we are shutting’. At 10:30. In what purports to be a pub. My local does better than this; and my local is rubbish.

Went there while out doing Christmas shopping and was the first time back after many years. Lovely atmosphere and food was great and reasonably priced. Returned again a few weeks later, very busy, but didn't have to wait too long for food, which again was lovely. Staff friendly and helpful.

Somehow this place has legitimately the crispiest and best tasting chips I've ever had in my life. I don't know if it's a fluke and they just changed the oil or what but by god their seasoned fries are amazing. Onion rings were perfect as well. We only ordered a couple of sides but if their quality is indicative of the rest of the food then the chef is doing a damn good job. Nice atmosphere and decent pints as well.

A great place for dining. The food is great quality- not your typical pub grub. I really wish they didn't have TV streaming from every corner. I hate sports.. but it's one of the reasons it's so busy and popular. Won't score down on the basis of that, as most pubs have large TV screens. There's always drinks on offer and they do a really good tasty coffee! Above is my review from 5 years ago! Visited again last week- absolutely epic. Gorgeous food, amazing ambience, lovely lovely staff. You get a 20% blue light discount too! Highly recommended. Best gastro/casual pub in Bristol- come check it out!!!

Aesthetically great; really nice interior. Atmosphere good and music levels etc were spot on. Clean and friendly and perfect for the station. Only reason this isn't a five is because the Guiness wasn't poured great (although the 'tender was charming about it!) and to be brutal didn't taste quite right - everything else about my visit was perfect so iron that out and you've won yourself a new regular!

The manager (slick back bun) randomly approached my boyfriend in an extremely threatening way, asking him if he was “crazy” because he said he had a “crazy look” to him. Keep in mind this is our first time coming to the pub, we had just walked in and stood at the bar just waiting to be served. I was extremely uncomfortable by this threatening approach and assumed he was some drunk man looking for a fight, however he then stated he was the manager and runs the place. This was a really shocking interaction, especially coming from a so called “‘manager” and I truly hope no one else has had to endure such rude behaviour

Pretty chilled pub serving Amstel and Peroni on draft. Visited on a weekday evening so I imagine it gets a lot busier at the weekends.

Had BBQ wings which were lovely. The portion was a little small considering it was meant for 2. Very friendly staff , very clean and I would go again.

Very nicely decorated with excellent customer service from Alice and Henry. The Bira Moretti was ice cold and fresh. I would have stayed longer, but I had a coach to get. I'll pop in and try the food next time. Outdoor seating area Toilets upstairs Accessible toilet downstairs.

Been here three times now on various trips to Bristol. Convenient for the coach station, clean and spacious and very good service 😁
