Nice mixed grill, served quickly but busy Friday night

Bit noisy for my taste. Food and staff were good though.

Decent spoons. Definitely not the best in Bristol, the outdoor area closes early and it’s usually ridiculously busy

Commercial Rooms JD Spoons boasts a spacious setting and the chance to enjoy friendly chats with fellow patrons. However, the experience was significantly marred by extremely slow service and an encounter with a notably rude bartender (who I’ll leave unnamed). Despite its potential, these issues ultimately made it one of the worst visits for a spoons I’ve had.

Busy bristol spoons... good location... historic building

Got to be the worst spoons I've been to. Waiting 45 mins for a brekfast.

Great service from all staff at this venue , very impressive building , great beers available and really decent meals for the price , visited over two days enjoying breakfasts and evening meals , very impressed thankyou.

Nice wrap but the table behind us had really loud people

Nearly always a good choice of beers available,food is the usual weatherspoons standard. Gets very busy & noisy + it can be difficult to get a seat.

Comí aquí con un colega de trabajo un lunes por la noche en enero y estaba muy ocupado cuando llegamos, sin apenas una mesa para elegir. Finalmente encontramos uno en una esquina que tenía algunos platos y vasos viejos y después de esperar un poco mi amigo llevó los platos hasta la barra para despejar un poco de espacio. Pedimos comida y bebidas en la aplicación y el servicio era bastante rápido y amable y para cuando salimos del pub era mucho más tranquilo. La comida que pedí era bastante buena (parrilla mixta) y la pinta de Leffe que tenía era muy agradable y buena relación calidad-precio como parte del costo de la comida. Los baños estaban bien, pero un poco de un viaje arriba y encontrar los condimentos era un poco complicado, así que tuve que preguntar al personal por las direcciones. En general fue una buena comida en un pub del centro de la ciudad. El edificio en sí era muy interesante y claramente tenía un montón de historia. He marcado abajo la puntuación para reflejar la lentitud de la limpieza de los platos y la falta de espacio para moverse alrededor de las mesas en lo que claramente era un momento ocupado.

Good fast service even when it’s busy. Drinks come fast and food comes out hot. Lady with the black hair and glasses is very lovely. Sometimes really busy can’t get a seat but not the fault of the restaurant.

Had a couple of nice pints, and they had ramin on a special, and it was delicious. The service was excellent. The waiter was very good

Absolutely packed this morning very cramped at the tables. Coffee Latte is not very hot.

Decent place to relax and catch-up on work although the WIFI wasn’t working well on the day, could have a been a one-off as usually they are decent.

Fire exit was blocked the whole time by students

Great spoons. Beautiful building, great staff working tirelessly. Food was good. Recommend the eggs Benedict for breakfast although I ordered a side of bacon and it was a few scraps. But the eggs were cooked to perfection. I know these places get a bad press and i know they're not to everyone's taste but this is one of the best spoons I've been to.

Great place in city center for reasonably priced good and drinks. Plenty of space and toilets upstairs, can get quite crowds, but would be expected as the drinks are cheaper then in other pubs. Good service and friendly staff.

Very nice Weatherspoons, properly the best one I've been to in a while, nice place to get lunch while on a geography trip, great food and service as well.

We spent a great evening at the Commercial Rooms in Bristol. We were waiting for an early morning bus after missing our flight, and actually stayed until closing (with our suitcases nearby) until closing. We thought the food was good and a great price, and we always enjoy the pitcher cocktail deals at Weatherspoon.

Classic spoons . Cheap night out

It's cheap so it's cheerful. The cocktails (singles not pitchers) are strong! Great if you want to kick a boozy night off cheaply. Food is cheap but quite cheerful. Obviously not sophisticated cuisine, but a very nice hunger satisfying perfectly enjoyable menu with value for money burgere and pub grub. The pub is basic and not the most updated fashion wise, but it's warm. No drafts blowing you out of your chair. It's one of those pubs people make fun off, through snobbery, but we would all reminisce and miss of it dissapeared. I actually think it's a great pub for value and quality..

Old school spoons but very busy. Bar is a bit too small for size of the place. Variety is good, your typical spoons and typical spoons fashion toilets are situated upstairs half a mile away. All in all nice visit 😊

Been a couple of times, but last night's experience was less good. The bar staff was a bit of a jobsworth - my friend was refused service. Fine, no biggie, but then she refused to sell me two drinks (one was for my boyfriend sat at table and other for me) as she didn't trust that I wouldnt give the drink to my friend. So boyfriend and I had to share a drink lol.

One of the best wetherspoons. Well worth a visit

Wetherspoons as a whole is amazing obviously! This branch is alright.... I think I prefer it in the daytime when it's quieter. I would have given 4 stars but I was gutted when I was gazumped at the bar by a bloke, he strolled in, stood next to me after I was waiting a while, and as he was ordering, 9 of his mates turned up and he did a huge round! Gutted.... it was busy that evening so I understand, but I waited for ages to be served. Luckily a barlady noticed me and asked her colleague to serve me next- thanks to whoever you are! We spent ages there after that, and I ordered to the table. Spicy mango cocktails GORGE!

My first visit here and enjoyed my time inside a massive first section of the building! The weather wasn't that great, so there wasn't loads inside........ But I bet with the main room that it gets pretty loud when full! I had a couple of Jaipurs and an Xmas burger with the usual bits, which was it's usual decent standard! Another one ticked off the list! 👍🏼

A cozy place, you can eat and have some beers, it has a lot of variety. The place is very nice. The food is acceptable.

Great pub very different in terms of atmosphere, it does indeed have a commercial feel about it, large venue but relatively quiet place to drink, socially it's not a likely venue but more of a gathering space to sit and have a quiet drink.

What you'd expect from a weatherspoons. It's not all singing and dancing but is fantastic value for money (especially at the heart of Bristol), and is more than adequate to congregate at for a social gathering.

Fui allí el sábado 23 de noviembre con unos amigos. Almuerzo que estaba bien. Sin embargo, los platos utilizados no se quitaron por lo que los colocamos en una mesa vacante. ¡No se recoge durante horas! Los vasos tampoco se recogían así que terminamos llevándolos al bar nosotros mismos. Uno de los hombres del personal estaba dispuesto a tomar bebidas del bar a nuestra y otras mesas. . Sin embargo... nunca pensé en volver con los vasos vacíos al bar. Las mesas nunca se limpiaban y generalmente el bar estaba sucio. Solo nos alojamos ya que estábamos esperando amigos para unirse a nosotros. ¿Puedo sugerirle que emplee a un trabajador en edad escolar que no sirva sino que simplemente limpie el lugar? Mi opinión es que solo está muy ocupado ya que las bebidas son baratas.

Passive aggressive, rude staff. Extremely disrespectful

Myself and 5 friends visited 23rd of November 24. Some of us had food which was OK. However the place was an absolute a disgrace. Dirty plates were not picked up for hours along with empty glasses. Ended up returning them to the bar ourselves as staff didn't seem that bothered . Only stayed as drink was relatively cheap. Maybe lack of staff, I don't know, but suggest hiring a person ONLY to clear tables etc as it was a tip.

Afortunadamente solo llamamos para tomar café después de hacer los mercados de Navidad el viernes por la tarde. ¡Era pesado y tan ruidoso! Mesas no limpias, cuando se podía encontrar uno, y no limpias. Pedí 4 cafés en la aplicación y después de una espera de 20 minutos para las tazas vacías le pregunté a un 'servidor' y me dijeron que estaba muy ocupado! Apareció 5 minutos después sin tazas. También estaba horneando allí, el total opuesto a la V - Cobertizo la noche anterior, donde era báltico!

Went in there on a busy friday night, and the service was very fast considering. The building itself is gorgeous. However as is often the case with a Wetherspoons, the toilets are a bit of a trek away and are upstairs.

Went today what a state, no eggs, no cheese, no tuna too packed cannot sit in comfort. Friends had curry had to be returned as not warm enough ( dangerous or what, no probing ) one of the biggest chains now a shower of shit will never ever return, totally disgusted 😡😡😡😡

Historic location with well kept range of real ales

It was alright. Nice architecture. Interesting history—it is the site of the Bristol Commercial Rooms, whose first president was the inventor of tarmac. Good price for a double Bumbu.

In terms of interior, probably the nicest spoons in Bristol, but also the most expenwove which kinda defeats the point of spoons

Originally an early 19th century private club, The Commercial Rooms is probably Bristol’s finest pub. Behind the gracious portico, there’s a spectacular main room and a smaller one behind. A great place to enjoy a pint and fish and chips. There’s plenty of interesting historic detail to admire. And they get an extra gold star for no recorded music. Well done Wetherspoons.

Very busy, we arrived 19:30, difficult to find a table. Not the best spoon's we have visited, and the food even cheap as it is was not the greatest. Good start to the evening before experiencing Bristol nightlife.

It’s a ‘Spoons. Unique carpet, very cheap beer in good condition. Exceptionally nice building with history. Located in the centre of the city. Toilets work. Beer festival about to happen.

For over 15years in AROUND Wetherspoon in WHOLE UK COMMERCIAL ROOM ,BRISTOL is the worst service get ignore by chubby waitress for requesting a take away box ?how you feel when u request something in a restaurant or food place get ignore “she said busy “EVEN BUSY you have to do it or be smarter PUT some take away box IN front counter INCASE CUSTOMER WANT IT ,common sense .. wonder how the manager manage to hire you ?are you just came out from collage ? I got mad straight to the kitchen yet she still purposely don’t give a f and ignore to give me a take away box luckily manager manage to grab me one Do u need more part time on Saturday ? As a local in city centre I would like to vote Clifton weathersoon and V-SHED weatherspoon STILL BETTER then this commercial room HORIBLE EXPERIANCE Please train the younger staff how to be polite * THIS is not KAREN restaurant

Popped in at the weekend for a breakfast to set us up for a long day of hen partying. The food came relatively quickly and was hot. My breakfast was missing one of the two eggs promised on the menu, which is why I've knocked a star off, and the atmosphere was okay. Very loud and no music or anything to make you feel a bit more comfortable. Overall a nice enough place and I would probably come back

Very busy spoons even at 11am, very nice building though

Was in here on Monday afternoon for a pint before our bus to the airport and I waited 15 minutes at the bar while the staff ignored me and just continued talking amongst themselves and to a guy at the bar who seemed to work there but was on his day off from the looks of it. Absolutely abysmal service, left without getting a drink and went next door to Flight Club instead. Every table was full of empty glasses and absolutely filthy as well. I know Wetherspoons pubs are fairly bare bones, and Monday staff probably aren't the A team, but this absolutely took the piss altogether. As a bartender for 15 years, I'd be absolutely mortified to say I worked there. Avoid at all costs. Also, a customer had a legitimate complaint about his pint while I was standing waiting, and the staff made comments about him within earshot as they remedied the issue.

Very busy, but cheap food. The food could be better, but you don't necessarily go here if you come for good food. Service is not the best, but when we were there with a group, there were only 3 people walking around.

We are visiting from Australia and found this pub nearby where we were staying. Excellent menu, and great range of drinks. We visited a few times and found it to be great each time. Highly recommend.

Waited almost 2 hours for my food had to go to bar to ask where it was once it came in was Absolutely disgusting the stake was covered in blood it was Disgusting I would not recommend going

Barmaid rubbed my lime on the bar and dropped in my corona and looked me in the eye . Pronounced “draught” as “drawt” and tried to argue linguistics with an a level English language a level student 👨‍🎓 won’t be coming back here again.

It's was great! I like eating in spoons and this one is great. I order food it arrived fast, food was delicious. Waiter was nice and polite, ask if food was fine. I'm happy to eat there in the future.

Lovely atmosphere and drinks meeting up with friends, good bar service from staff.

Had multiple meals here over the period of a few days and all were excellent, as you would expect. Staff are polite and friendly, can't fault it.

As with all Wetherspoon pubs, it's clean, well presented and the prices are great 👍🏻

The food portions were very smallthe service for food was quick but the service behind the bar was slow only 1 person serving at around 6 on a saturday evening and packed

Lovely girl I believe her name is grace the girl with ginger hair in a bun served me she was an absolute angel you should count yourself lucky she works here because everyone else that has served me has been horrid

We stopped off here on a visit to Bristol shopping good location out of the hectic city, very clean friendly staff a guy serving the food didn't get his name but he worked non stop bringing out the food, wiping tables he definitely earnt his pay !! Food was very nice good value for money. Had a nice size back room for a more quieter experience, would visit again if we go visited Bristol again 1 of 4 wetherspoons in the town, bit would happily recommend this place.
