I was not Aware, of this Splendid little hidden Gem. I am Now ! I must say what an absolute delight My visit was. It is without doubt. One of two, Best Ale beer drinking places, to be experienced on this Coastline. Landlord is very Knowledgeable and Friendly. The Establishment is kitted out, to be a Pub. Well done. I shall be back. Malc.

Attended today as a person of colour. I asked for a sample of a beer I wanted to try before getting a pint. Was given a cute small glass and remarked how cute the glass was. Was told by the lady serving that she knew how many of the glasses in such a way as to imply I was about to steal it. I earn toooo much to steal a small glass but thanks for letting me know you already profiled me. That alongside the weird looks from the clientele lets me know that, although I’m local, have money to spend, bring lots or people to this establishment when I am visited by friends that may or may not look like me, on my visit to your establishment, I’m profiled as a thief. Unlikely to be back.

Went in with a friend after a walk for a rest and cold beer, having heard the beer was good. As I ordered the drinks my friend was accused of wanting to steal one of the tasting glasses and was stared at the whole time by two of the customers at the bar making us both feel very uncomfortable. We drank our drinks as quickly as we could and left. Horrible experience.

Fantastic beer at a more than reasonable price. Dont expect bells and whistle, TV and music. This is a proper traditional English public house. No food served but a great range of bar snacks.

Our local micro pub for Lancing. No tv or background music. Live bands occasionally typically Sundays. Pop in for some real ales or cider or lager or wine or spirits.....and a natter.

A micopub with mega atmosphere! On this particular evening, we were celebrating a friends birthday, and they had a brilliant live band. We will be back!

Cons: expensive. Pros: literally everything you want in a real pub. Not only a great selection of craft beers, but also an owner who knows and cares about what he sells. A lively, friendly atmosphere, where other pubgoers will engage with you. Basically a house party with awesome drinks. This place is a little jewel hidden in a tiny corner of a little town.

Friendly, comfortable pub with interesting photo's and artifacts serving very very good ale. Why only four stars? Too many five star reviews which should reflect 'cannot be improved' in my opinion. No business should stop trying to improve and it doesn't appear the Stanley will.

Always a nice pint. It's nice as there is no music playing no tv just nice to have a chat without things being so loud.

When I am down for the Albion I always pay a visit with my Lancing friends Wayne & Ollie. Good Real Ales.

Always a decent selection of ales from local brews and those further afield.Some bottled stuff is available and various fun things to do on certain nights, ie quiz night, quaff and scoff and occasional acoustic sets.

Monday night open mic (acoustic) rocks. There is good beer here too

Parking available around the back. Good selection of real ale beers, food available next door in the Italian restaurant. One friendly staff member on duty.

Excellent choice of beers and ciders. Sometimes live music. Varies between heaving and quiet.

What a great place fantastic beer at sensible price. The staff were very friendly and chatty would highly recommend.

If you want some where unique, different and a 'brand' pub this is the place - good choice of micro brewery ales and not over priced - great for an evening pop in - best of all you can hear yourself think and chat with friends without having to yell over the music !!

Pub in a shop.no fruit machines.acoustic music a couple of times a week. Real ale 4 on stollage. Plus craft beer on keg. Tuesday night is quaff and scoff.

If your idea of a watering hole is loud music, juke box, Sky Sports, slot machines and bland fizzy liquid calling itself beer, forget it. Stay away. This bar is for those of us who like our beer, ales and ciders real. It's a great place for meeting friends (or business contacts), the atmosphere most of the time is calm and quiet and conversations do not need to be forced. On Monday evenings it changes a bit, because that night is an 'open mic' night and budding acoustic musicians are welcome to strut their stuff. Weekends see live music, also of a restful and acoustic nature. The owner does not do food, with the exception of some bar snacks, but punters are more than welcome to visit one of the many 'take-aways' nearby and bring it in to eat, accompanied by a peerless selection of real ales and ciders.

Last time I was here I ordered a pint and the person behind the bar went out the back for it. Iffy as looked and tasted rancid. Refused to pay for it and left it behind. Not a nice way to treat regulars. Never been back since

This is a strange but wonderful pub. Like a front room to look at it has local beers on tap, live music and such a popular feel people spill out on to the street. You just have to go and experience it.

Been here a few times now and normally it's a great little public house with a brilliant atmosphere. Sad to say on my last visit I had to leave early as me and my family were made to feel really uncomfortable. We were experiencing a lovely time and enjoying the beer and the band which was playing. A good band as well, but they let themselves down by having the cheek to come over to us and tell us we were being overly loud. It wasn't like we were being a bother. Only a family having a drink together. I'm astonished at how rude they were. Sorry, but because of this I will not be coming back again.

The Stanley Ale House serve a variety of great beers with different strengths and with a good atmosphere. You can sit inside or outside.

I, being of a certain age am informed that this is the new form of communication. Now I have lived through a few incarnations of pubs in my time, starting with with the old ale and beer houses in towns and villages,served by an untold number of various breweries, been through the era of keg? beers, then the era of the big six. Now is the era of local micro breweries, and micro pubs, especially in the towns, UTOPIA! I will not base my opinion of any establishment on a single visit, only on several over a period of time.Many pubs advertise real ale or cask beer for sale, but I have found that not only do the Stanley Ale House offer the above, but over a period of time many dfferent ales and cyders, and they are of REAL QUALITY, and real care is taken in presenting a quality product at all times. Although the establishment is located in a retail unit the atmosphere that the young couple who run it is in keeping with the old local corner house community pub, and that takes a special quality when the pub has been going for about 20 months, a friendly warm welcoming place. I would have no hesitation in recommending a visit or two, if you are particular about the quality and variety of beers, this has become a regular haunt for me. William Luffman

Sells beer, very very nice beer. Average prices. Ok atmosphere, went in the afternoon and had a few chats with the locals.

Me and my mates love the scrumpy ciders which really hit the spot! One of the cheapest pubs in Lancing too and you can get a few Pizzas from Italian next door! Amazing!

A lovely place for a glass of wine (in my case). A very friendly micro pub (the rest of the family enjoyed the beer). Best of all no TV or fruit machines or thumping music and they give free food on a Tuesday night which they call 'Quaff and Scoff' very friendly public house.

Real ales perfectly kept at reasonable prices, ciders and wines too. Free food from 7 pm Tuesdays, Quiz night thursdays, friendly staff. The only pub worth visiting in Lancing IMHO.

Great little place for a pint and a natter . Very friendly staff and a very clean loo . Lovely to sit outside on a pleasant evening . It's a breath of fresh air to have this place in Lancing and now the Italian has opened up next door let's hope that Lancing is on the up and up so hopefully people will get behind these new ventures so that more new business's open up .

Love this place, only been a couple of times so far but cant wait to go again. Great choice of ales and perfect for a quiet couple with a mate or night out with a few of you. Staff very friendly and welcoming.

A great selection of beers and bottles. Scoff and quaff night is excellent ☺ free nibbles and discounted beer; what could be better.Takeaway beer is available for those who have to go home. The ales are constantly changing; this micropub is more like a mini beerfest.

My new favourite local. There are closer pubs but this one's best, good ales, no frills, wine, cider etc if you need them. Great open mic nights, quaff n scoff etc etc. Bring your own food from the local takeaways. Love this place.

Great atmosphere you could actually talk in this pub as no TV or Music blaring. Great social pub. Allowed to bring in own take away food (plates,cutlery behind bar provided by Steve the Landlord). Not just local ales wine & spirits to.Can play board games cards, bring your own or there are a selection in pub (even books).Dogs are allowed.
