Needs a refurbishment but ok. Usual spoons, very good prices and selection of beers

Large pub with unusually low prices, but everything is ok. We were only there for a beer, but it was full and almost all of the customers ate something.

Usual fare with happy staff. Another good meal today served by happy friendly staff.

Dark and dingey grubby little pub, real nasty every weekend and bodyguards roaming around staring at you inside and out of the pub.

It's what you would expect from a wetherspoons ,busy ,reasonably priced, if your looking for fine dinning this is not the for you but if you looking for pub grub and don't mind getting 10 chips on you plate when you order fish and chips then this is the place for you

Whether spoons in Southampton centre. Staff was friendly and lovely. Large mixed grill. Raw chips. Meat was like concrete. The only thing on the plate that was nice was the onion rings.

Chicken looked like slop on a plate was suppose to be chargrilled but looked soggy and undercooked, Chips were nice though but will avoid chicken dishes from now, Service quick as ordered through app, worker spilt drink on phone and got a mumbled sorry, Pub seems like the local needs updating and cleaning very busy.

Food is quite good, prices too but is one inconvenient thing - dirty tables. Hard to find one which is no sticky of dirt

About the same as all Wetherspoons. Plenty of seating and reasonably priced food.

I love eating at wetherspoon because for me is a standard. Almost like eating at McDonald's. But unfortunately 😕, today I've got a gourmet steak super spicy from this place which was odd. I ate some thinking maybe is me and the taste will go away, but it didn't. I approched the bar and the answer was " this is how we season the beef" . Ok.... if that is so, why we as customers are not made aware of this on the menu?.??

I don’t really know what to say after last night . My son in law was removed from the premises, accused of being drunk and of taking drugs .All with no proof. He had had 3 pints went to the bar to order another , had a conversation with the bartender about the noise level and the next thing he knew he was asked to leave and accused by management of the above . To say this is a disgrace is beyond words , he hates taking pain relief let alone recreational drugs . Suggest management go outside and throw out those that are smoking it and deal with them before you pick on innocent individuals. To the manager you had no proof he was drunk which he wasn’t. You had no proof about the drug taking , which he wasn’t. He never used foul language to anyone, but you seemed fit to have him removed. I worked in the pub business for many years and pride myself on the job I did as regard customer relations . You haven’t got a clue and you are a disgrace to the industry as are the lying staff that made up these false accusations .

Way to busy. Got a table then got asked to leave because they wanted the table for their mates.

A more than decent 'spoons. Apart from a good brekkie, had a decent Plum Porter. Well worth a stop.

Good, large, Wetherspoon's pub about 20 minutes walk from Southampton Central Station. Nine cask beers on handpump when I visited. Lots of outdoor seating in a courtyard half way down the pub. The Standing Order is in the former Southampton branch of the Bank of England. That dates from around 1925 and stood on the site of St Lawrence's church. It was connected by tunnel to Southampton's medieval vaults. Not too busy after the Spurs game at St Mary's Stadium.

Came to standing order for lunch, our table was dirty and not clean, we ordered our lunch on the app and puddings the server brought out our dinner and garlic bread which just about fitted on the table and then brought out our puddings with our dinner, we didn't want our puddings with our dinner and he crammed it onto our tiny table, it was cold by the time we ate it the custard was gloopy, very disappointed with the service and not really impressed considering what we paid definitely not coming back again

Not sure of the food didn't partake but the drink atmosphere was fantastic

Fried eggs must have been sat under a heat lamp for 10 minutes. Would have returned it had the staff not been run off their feet. Staff tried to give us the wrong order too 🤦‍♂️

We were visiting Southampton, and as we always do, we called in the Wetherspoons for our lunch.

Friday night drinks. It's a 'spoons' so not expect a high end clientèle. Cheap drinks, and had a great selection of everything. Nice and friendly staff. Massive pub with loads of seating. Good smoking area. Will visit again when in Southampton again.

Had fish chips and peas it was Lovely

On 8th November 2024 at about 3.00 pm was thrown out for being 'rude' to a staff member. I merely asked for a coffee - that's all - to a passing barman having been passed over time and again. An unfortunate set of events that started when I indicated that someone else was in front of me. The manager (who was the person who askef me to leave) would not let me speak to explain what had happened; he kept talking over ne. I didn't ever raise my voice, nor did I swear (which I'm sure he would have liked me to do so that he could justify his actions) . I am disgusted at this treatment of me especially as I am an older gentleman of 78 years. I would advocate his dismissal forthwith

Honestly this is the best Wetherspoons me and my partner have visited and we've been to quite a few... The food is really tasty. Piping hot and full of flavour. The gourmet cheese burger was by far my favourite it was cooked fresh and had lots of flavour. As for the toilets they seemed somewhat clean and ars on the same level so its not up lots of stairs for once!!

Outstanding value. Great breakfast. But broken glass on the floor and on seats. So bit rough.

Staying next door in The Star Hotel & popped in for a beer 🍻 or two & the food looked fantastic!! Decided to stay & were very impressed, great tasty hot food, with excellent service, we both had the gourmet Sirloin steak 🥩 with another pint.. Brilliant 🤩 & tasty 😋 ( with Jack Daniel’s sauce)

Can't beat it for value, especially a large breakfast with free coffee refills! Ordering on the app is quick and easy. Food came out before the coffee had finished pouring! Wouldn't hesitate to return.

Terrible food service is slow toilets are disgusting used to be much better ordered breakfast with extra black pudding it was so crispy my teeth almost crunched with it ! Who deep Fry's black pudding anyway!

Caliente y bien cocinado, servido eficientemente de una manera amable, no tuvimos quejas en absoluto. Y tenemos que escuchar sobre Brian y Geoff en la mesa cercana 'sellando el trato' y asegurándonos de que el negocio sería rentable para lo previsible. Korean chicken and coconut rice and a pint of Guinness 10 quid bargain. The chicken was lovely.

At The Standing Order in Southampton, we indulged in not just the quintessential British dish of fish and chips but also ventured into a delightful bowl of ramen and a flavorful Madras beef curry served with rice. Each dish was satisfying, with a unique mix of flavors that reflected the diverse offerings of this establishment. Of course, the experience wouldn’t have been complete without a beer in hand, perfectly complementing the meal. What stood out the most, beyond the food, was the warm and inviting community vibe, making it the kind of place you’d love to return to.

I only come here on Southampton FC match days (probably the worst possible time to visit, unless you are going to the match). His the staff manage to serve excellent food so promptly under these conditions I will never know, but all credit to the staff and management.

Went for breakfast. Average Spoons, average food. Hash browns were rock solid and over cooked. Full of early morning dross drinkers.

Second visit first was for a stag do, as always plenty of choice as regards beers, staff friendly and helpful second visit was for a breakfast the morning after the wedding,food was great and hot and the service was great didn't have to wait long from ordering to the food arriving at the table.

It's a typical Spoons. The service was fast, and we had somewhere to sit. We didn't eat, but enough people were eating, which suggests it's a good place to eat. It's a great pub for a few pre-cruise drinks.

Only 3 stars because zero WiFi and the place is filthy. Otherwise, it's OK. Food ok staff ok. Atmosphere ok. Not dangerous. 😆

Worst spoons I've ever been to !!!!! No WiFi, despite it clearly saying free unlimited WiFi on the menu, staff told me they don't do WiFi and the menu referred to other weatherspoons!!!! phone signal is nonexistent, so you can't order online. Breakfast burnt and could at the same time. Give this place a miss. So unlike weatherspoons!!!

Late opening, great selection of beers and liquor, always inexpensive

Had an hour to wait for a boat after seeing a band play locally. Staff were impolite, rude, and frankly dangerous to the safety of our group. Tried our chances waiting on the street instead. 0 stars would not rely on this place to do the right thing. Cleanliness of the facilities leaves a lot to be desired, again, the streets seem like a better, cleaner option.

We’ve been to quite a few Wetherspoons but this had to be one of the worse. Came for a quick bite as the kids were hungry and have a good choice for kids with food and drinks options. Found a vacant table eventually as there were lots of empty tables but all full of dirty plates. Sat down and the table was very sticky. On way to the bar, all the bins are out near the bar and quite off putting. Went to order food but was told it was too early for the main menu (11.30am) and couldn’t order yet so went back to the table and ordered online straight away with no problems. Drinks arrived quickly and the food arrived about 10 minutes later, so no delay. Food was as expected from what we ordered. And the saw staff then clearing tables but not really cleaning them so can see why they were sticky. The good thing is the toilets are on the same floor and no flights of stairs but smelt musty.

It is what you expect from a Wetherspoons, same types of people from students to older men, the food menu is very good value for the money paid although the compromise is a bit of quality which has improved over the years. Staff are always friendly and helpful. The toilets are a million miles away (as per every Wetherspoons ever). There's weekday schedules for savings on drinks and food, great starter for the night or just a good place to meet for a few drinks and food.
