Pretty well what you would expect from Weather spoons. Parking was not easy

Great food, quick service - clean and tidy

Mush like all other Wetherspoons, you know what you're getting. No parking facilities,we were lucky to find on road parking for an hour return

Very busy, tablets dirty and service not as good as many of the weatherspoons I have been inside

Got to love a good Wetherspoons. Food is served in a good time, good selection of drinks, live sports and great atmosphere.

For the money it's tremendous value. Had Full English and coffee for under £7. Plus free refills.

A huge thank you to everyone at the Brightwater. 4 of us had lunch last Saturday (8th feb) and the team were amazing. We’re quite a fussy bunch so the menu was perfect - even small plates for small appetites. Saying that, 1 of us had an Ultimate Burger - what a beast! The food arrived quickly, hot and well presented. The kitchen guys must of been on top form- food was coming out the kitchen all the time - the pub was quite busy. The bar staff were friendly and were more that happy to offer suggestions for our picky mate. Great fun, good food and the cocktails flowed - thanks again Brightwater, our long awaited catchup was amazing.

I called into the brightener the other day after some breakfast, I was not disappointed!! Perfectly cooked eggs , which is not easy when cooking for the numbers that were in there. Bacon crispy, toast hot. Would highly recommend the food. Only given 3 for atmosphere as it is still Shirley!

When made a comment that the chips were cold reply from waitress "it happens" I was not impressed .it wouldn't get one star but you can't post with out rating.

Terrible. I have 2 autistic boys, verbally stim and make autistic noises, they were sat down playing on the phone. I was asked by waiter to keep the boys quiet, I explained they verbally stim and are autistic, they can't help the noise. There seemed to be little understanding that it's a disability. My partner went to order food and heard Brandon and another colleague talking in the kitchen about how he should have just told the kids to shut up.

What a dump. Only come here on a Sunday to watch the football. The bar service is atrocious, stood at bar no staff in sight. Eventually one staff member appeared. 4 customers who arrived after me get served whilst I turned invisible not for the first time in a Wetherspoon pub. I asked the girl if they are trained to look to see who has been waiting and she replies that they are so I asked the girl why they don’t put the training into practice. Apparently it is the person who shouts the loudest gets served first. So if you like lousy service along with your overpriced microwave meals then this is the place for you.

Ordered one the app. First round, estimate for drinks 12 minutes. Arrived in 20. Seconds round estimate at 5 minutes, took 25. It was busy, but not busy enough to wait 25 minutes for a drink.

For the love of god sort the toilets out.

Love this place, food OK drinks cheap, friendly but rather noisy on occasions, TVs are supposed to be silent!

Many years visiting a pub in Shirley. Nowadays portions became sooo small. And waitress not communicate just ignoring. Bar staff is excellent service and communication skills. But kitchen is changed, looks like new chief decided to give just 5 chips with all meals.

Halloween is near, the bar looks very festive. Good value all round.

Was just short stop for breakfast. 9am.

Good menu, plenty of choice, friendly staff. Shame the football had the volume on.

Local pub, very often full of people. There is a separate area for food a d drinks only. The toilets are upstairs with no lifts. There is also a nice beer garden in front of the pub.

Great pub staff are generally awful with their attitude, but that starts with the manager who needs serious lessons in customer service. It's a pity really as it lets the spoons brand down badly.

Horrible experiencia hoy, así que no es lo que estoy acostumbrado en Wetherspoons. El personal grosero mala comida y barbacoa hamburguesa no es lo que solía ser ahora 2 hamburguesas básicas en lugar de Pattie soltera grande anterior. Arruinado por el personal para lo que debería haber sido una agradable salida hacer para un miembro del personal en servicio. Cometí un error genuino que luego llevó a que otros fueran perseguidos, así que me fui temprano. No regresará y preveo que nunca lo harán otros 12 no que a Wetherspoons le importará

My wife and I loved the place, even though we live in Southampton a while ago, we haven't been there before, but it is really worth it.

So much better run and more attentive staff in comparison to other Wetherspoons i use...this is further away from me... i still choose this one..

Only stopped for a drink. One of the best wetherspoons in Southampton. Service suffered today because of a lack of staff. Charl still managed a smile and a quick chat. The fruit machine was good to me as well.

Stayed in Shirley, Southampton, overnight pre-cruise! A bit quite for a Saturday night, but the quality of the food more than made up for it!! And still such good value!! 👍

Great place to meet locals and have an entertaining evening drinking fantastic real ale

Disappointed! Have been to many Wetherspoons around the country for food and drink over the years. Here my friend and I ordered panini and chips and BBQ chicken melt and chips. Both meals skimped on fillings, very small portions of chips and no dressing of any sort. I understand that Wetherspoons is often a cheap and cheerful option but definitely gone downhill!!

It's a Wetherspoons not a high end gastro pub so set your expectations accordingly. They have a very good selection of ales at a good price, the bar staff are friendly and hard working so full credit to them. The food generally OK but, am guessing to boost profits, the portions are small. Also, you can sit here by yourself, just have a coffee and no-one will bother you

Halfway down the Mutant Mile, you'll find an eclectic range of customers. From the elderly gentleman quietly supping his pint to the screeching harridan whose laughter would strip wallpaper. I feel sorry for the hard-working and pleasant staff who put up with on a regular basis.

My friends and I meet up to have lunch each month. The Brightwater is a friendly place. The food is usually good. The staff are usually friendly. It is a bit dated and usually full of old regulars. They show a lot of sports and on big football days it is busy. It is a local pub full of local people.

Great Pub, we have been coming here for years. I visit with friends every Thursday and the food is always top class, hot and love that everything on the menu is always available. This is now my local and it’s great to see that it’s always busy with locals supporting this pub. Long live The Bright Water and all that drink in there. Thank you again for great service and great food.

Only ever been in once and never again. When I ask for a latte I don't expect cups to be thrown on bar and told we make it ourselves

Visited this pub today 2/3/2024. Ordered food I ordered a skinny chicken burger and salad for myself and the special cod and chips for my mum . I wasn’t given a receipt when I received my change The food came out my mum got scampi and chips and peas . I said that’s not what I ordered for my mum . The waiter was adamant that’s what was ordered . My mum said take it away I want fish and chips , jacob said if you want something else you will have to pay extra which we weren’t going to pay . We where waiting for what we asked for never came , my mum went to complain was told by Jacob you can take the scampi and chips home boxed up , er no why would we take something home that we don’t like he didn’t even refund us just gave us the receipt still saying that’s what we ordered . Jacob is the most rudest,obnoxious, bad attitude waiter I’ve ever come across . He needs to be retrained in customer service/relations as at the end of day customer is right and should be treated with respect not be argued against. Also my salad bowl had a massive chip in it Very unhygienic. Please don’t visit this pub as you won’t have a pleasant visit .

I am staying in the neighbourhood for a week and this place is my favourite evening place. It is incredibly lively with local folks from all ages, it has a very good selection of beers at good prices. The staff is professional and friendly! Highly reccommended to visitors like me:)

I have been here before for drinks and food burger and chips around a year ago, and enjoyed it I totally understand that wetherspoons is know for cheap food and drinks however when the food arrived it was cold and looked like it hadn't been heated in microwave fully, so I would recommend basic simple food and nothing to complex for the chef, HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED GO SOMEWHERE ELSE AND PAY A BIT MORE.

Fish was well over cooked but because my daughter had taken a bite which then put her off her whole meal so did not even eat her chips. We were offered a replacement or a drink but we in a hurry and were denied a refund as she had eaten a bit of the fish.

Stopped off at the Bright Water Inn for lunch after a busy time in Southampton. Easy to find a table. Ordered all our food using the app and the pub's own wifi - very useful! Our food was perfectly cooked and hot on arrival. Very happy with the quality and quantity of our dishes. This Wetherspoon has become one of our favourite eateries in Southampton. Nearest public car park is near Sainsbury's and is about 12 mins walk away.

There were always so many people that I had to go there, but I finally visited. There is a rollette machine and a screen to watch soccer in the pub, so the atmosphere is noisy, but I like this kind of atmosphere, so I didn't feel uncomfortable. Considering the UK standards, the prices are reasonable and the food tastes good! If your expectations are high, you tend to be disappointed, so just know that the food is good for the price rather than expecting too much😉 The tables are wide, so it's a great place to visit with friends!! How could it be better to provide a set price with drinks or beer!!! I drink coffee from the machine, but a large cup costs 99p, and I paid a total of 22 pounds for the hamburger beer set and steak cola set. And with beer discount promotions every day of the week or month, two cocktails for about 13 pounds and a wine glass for about 4 pounds, this is the best value for money in this area. I just want to bury my bones here haha. It turned out that the price was affordable because it was a very large chain store in the UK. It's a pub version of Daiso, but I'm still visiting anyway! If I had to pick one drawback, the staff didn't clean the tables well. But who cares? I'm eating such delicious food at this price. I love you❤️

Typical Wetherspoon. Needs a bit of a re- furb. Prices rock bottom as usual. Free refills on coffee etc is ideal if you're out shopping . Limited outside area.
