Standard wetherspoons but the Staff are freindly and helpful.

Always liked this spoons pub can't fault it good food good staff there hard working did you here that spoons .

Breakfast is usually nice and hot in this weatherspoons other weatherspoons in Southampton are usually lukewarm or cold

My wife and I loved the place, even though we live in Southampton a while ago, we haven't been there before, but it is really worth it.

So much better run and more attentive staff in comparison to other Wetherspoons i use...this is further away from me... i still choose this one..

Great place to relax over a few beers with good friends. Meals are reasonably priced. A very varied selection. Steak Tuesday, Chicken Wednesday, Curry Thursday Fish Friday. Plus a free drink. Happy Days. Enjoy. Friendly staff, always willing to help. Always Special Offers on , great value for the money. At present there is no heating on in the pub. Not great if you're having a a Hot meal. To my understanding they need a replacement part. Could take up weeks. Have now put in temporary heating, not good enough. Come on Weatherspoons!!!!!.

Only stopped for a drink. One of the best wetherspoons in Southampton. Service suffered today because of a lack of staff. Charl still managed a smile and a quick chat. The fruit machine was good to me as well.

Stayed in Shirley, Southampton, overnight pre-cruise! A bit quite for a Saturday night, but the quality of the food more than made up for it!! And still such good value!! 👍

Disappointed! Have been to many Wetherspoons around the country for food and drink over the years. Here my friend and I ordered panini and chips and BBQ chicken melt and chips. Both meals skimped on fillings, very small portions of chips and no dressing of any sort. I understand that Wetherspoons is often a cheap and cheerful option but definitely gone downhill!!

It's a Wetherspoons not a high end gastro pub so set your expectations accordingly. They have a very good selection of ales at a good price, the bar staff are friendly and hard working so full credit to them. The food generally OK but, am guessing to boost profits, the portions are small. Also, you can sit here by yourself, just have a coffee and no-one will bother you

Could do with a buffet breakfast which would generate more income

Halfway down the Mutant Mile, you'll find an eclectic range of customers. From the elderly gentleman quietly supping his pint to the screeching harridan whose laughter would strip wallpaper. I feel sorry for the hard-working and pleasant staff who put up with on a regular basis.

My friends and I meet up to have lunch each month. The Brightwater is a friendly place. The food is usually good. The staff are usually friendly. It is a bit dated and usually full of old regulars. They show a lot of sports and on big football days it is busy. It is a local pub full of local people.

Great Pub, we have been coming here for years. I visit with friends every Thursday and the food is always top class, hot and love that everything on the menu is always available. This is now my local and it’s great to see that it’s always busy with locals supporting this pub. Long live The Bright Water and all that drink in there. Thank you again for great service and great food.

Only ever been in once and never again. When I ask for a latte I don't expect cups to be thrown on bar and told we make it ourselves

Visited this pub today 2/3/2024. Ordered food I ordered a skinny chicken burger and salad for myself and the special cod and chips for my mum . I wasn’t given a receipt when I received my change The food came out my mum got scampi and chips and peas . I said that’s not what I ordered for my mum . The waiter was adamant that’s what was ordered . My mum said take it away I want fish and chips , jacob said if you want something else you will have to pay extra which we weren’t going to pay . We where waiting for what we asked for never came , my mum went to complain was told by Jacob you can take the scampi and chips home boxed up , er no why would we take something home that we don’t like he didn’t even refund us just gave us the receipt still saying that’s what we ordered . Jacob is the most rudest,obnoxious, bad attitude waiter I’ve ever come across . He needs to be retrained in customer service/relations as at the end of day customer is right and should be treated with respect not be argued against. Also my salad bowl had a massive chip in it Very unhygienic. Please don’t visit this pub as you won’t have a pleasant visit .

I am staying in the neighbourhood for a week and this place is my favourite evening place. It is incredibly lively with local folks from all ages, it has a very good selection of beers at good prices. The staff is professional and friendly! Highly reccommended to visitors like me:)

It's a 'Spoons. Usual fare, but toilets are grotty.

I have been here before for drinks and food burger and chips around a year ago, and enjoyed it I totally understand that wetherspoons is know for cheap food and drinks however when the food arrived it was cold and looked like it hadn't been heated in microwave fully, so I would recommend basic simple food and nothing to complex for the chef, HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED GO SOMEWHERE ELSE AND PAY A BIT MORE.

Fish was well over cooked but because my daughter had taken a bite which then put her off her whole meal so did not even eat her chips. We were offered a replacement or a drink but we in a hurry and were denied a refund as she had eaten a bit of the fish.

Stopped off at the Bright Water Inn for lunch after a busy time in Southampton. Easy to find a table. Ordered all our food using the app and the pub's own wifi - very useful! Our food was perfectly cooked and hot on arrival. Very happy with the quality and quantity of our dishes. This Wetherspoon has become one of our favourite eateries in Southampton. Nearest public car park is near Sainsbury's and is about 12 mins walk away.

There were always so many people that I had to go there, but I finally visited. There is a rollette machine and a screen to watch soccer in the pub, so the atmosphere is noisy, but I like this kind of atmosphere, so I didn't feel uncomfortable. Considering the UK standards, the prices are reasonable and the food tastes good! If your expectations are high, you tend to be disappointed, so just know that the food is good for the price rather than expecting too much😉 The tables are wide, so it's a great place to visit with friends!! How could it be better to provide a set price with drinks or beer!!! I drink coffee from the machine, but a large cup costs 99p, and I paid a total of 22 pounds for the hamburger beer set and steak cola set. And with beer discount promotions every day of the week or month, two cocktails for about 13 pounds and a wine glass for about 4 pounds, this is the best value for money in this area. I just want to bury my bones here haha. It turned out that the price was affordable because it was a very large chain store in the UK. It's a pub version of Daiso, but I'm still visiting anyway! If I had to pick one drawback, the staff didn't clean the tables well. But who cares? I'm eating such delicious food at this price. I love you❤️

Typical Wetherspoon. Needs a bit of a re- furb. Prices rock bottom as usual. Free refills on coffee etc is ideal if you're out shopping . Limited outside area.

Well...what can I say ..it's a spoon's...staff are awesome (no lie)...the food is what you expect it's nice but ain't a michelln starred place .. Beers are cold and cheap....gets a bit hectic Friday and Saturday night but have a bash if you like it a bit lively 👍😉

It's a Wetherspoon it's what you'd expect. Usual food on seats sticky tables and fruit flies flying around but it's cheap and not bad for food for what you pay.

Regular for Curry Night. Friendly, helpful staff always excellent service and food. Shame there is no Gammon option on this Southampton menu otherwise great value

We ordered via the app from the table, food and drinks were delivered to the table with a smile and tasted great. Good value for money, what is there not to love.

A very busy pub and larger than you think from the look from the pavement. Being a wetherspoons, it is cheap compared to most alternatives in the area, but still decent quality food, and plenty of selection on drink. It can get quite loud once people have had a few. Large seated area for eating food at the rear end of the pub. Toilets were functional, but a couple didn't have paper, and the door locks were slightly broken

The food is Pretty hit or miss depending on which kitchen staff are on duty at the time

I love Wetherspoon pubs anyway, but this pub was perfect for me after visiting Southampton parkrun on Southampton Common. Southampton parkrun on the day I visited was the second biggest parkrun in the UK, with 950 parkrunners approx. It was also a great place to have a break from shopping in the long, long, shopping street in this part of Southampton known as Shirley. The name of the pub is "Bright Water", and "Shirley" in old English meant bright water. The place was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. A thumbs up from me

I come here regularly. The food is always hot, fresh and very reasonably priced. The service is always excellent and the staff very friendly. I cam here by myself today and it did not disappoint.

Great service very friendly staff, good value food and drink all with good quality.

Food was cold sent back to come out covered in fat. Literally burger slid accross the plate. We told the manager who said oh well that's how they are. No refund. He was rude and smirking the whole time. Two tables next to us also sent their food back. Since speaking to others everyone seems to have the same opinion this guy is arrogant rude and certainly shouldn't be a manager.

Good food reasonably priced and the drinks are cheap. All round good value.

Three of us rolled up for a Sunday main meal. We all had different dishes and drinks, along with a good chin wag. Result - three satisfied customers. The staff here seem to work quite hard and are generally easy to relate to. There's a reasonable footfall so occasionally tables aren't cleared that fast, although speed of service is up there. Some one always wipes the tables eventually and have never failed to come if asked, or behave other than courteously when doing so. And in there for a pint with friends yesterday (mid-week). Very busy with with quite a few groups around the larger tables. It was a bit late for families.

I only popped in for a coffee. I couldn't believe the amount of people in there drinking at 0900

I have eaten twice at this pub this month. On the first visit the fish & chips were inedible. This lunchtime my wife & I had ham eggs & chips The ham was lovely but the eggs & chips were cold. After 2 bad meals, won't be returning. You have been warned!!

Delicious Mangalorean vegetarian curry with naan, rice and papadum with All day breakfast at reasonable price ..had awesome company with awesome pre-Christmas lunch. Lived every bit as good portion and authentic taste. Well done Chef.
