This is a great family pub, also dogs allowed. We had a fab lunch here with friends. The service was great, the staff were lovely and friendly and there was a great atmosphere. I’ve only given 4 stars as the veg on the Sunday roast was a little hard for my taste. Otherwise it is definitely a 5 star pub for service. We’ll be back ! .

We chose the Spread Eagle for a family get-together as it is mid way between us all. On arrival we ordered drinks at the bar and were then seated quickly. This was followed shortly afterwards by food ordering. Considering how big our party was and the fact the rest of the pub was filling up quickly our food arrived in a timely manner. All choices were freshly prepared, hot and tasty - a credit to the kitchen. Once plates were cleared we ordered dessert and these too were met with positive comments. Minor gripes - some menu choices were in short supply with one item not available at all. This was particularly true of the dessert choices. That said, alternative offerings were available. One of our party was infirm and had difficulty negotiating the route to and from the car park. No alternative route could be found. Also, one person struck his head rather hard on a low doorway. A bit of signage could possibly have prevented this. Overall we enjoyed our meal very much. The staff at all times were courteous and friendly. We will likely be visiting again.

The food was good, but simply overpriced. £18 for a cheeseburger which came with zero salad and 9 chip. 9 chips!! The plates were half empty. £30 for an £8 bottle of Prosecco. It was a Saturday night and the place was near enough empty - there is a reason for this: overpriced. Make your prices affordable to people, fill the plates and you might get a few more customers in.

Had not been to The Spread Eagle for over and year and was looking forward to going there for a drink. Booked a table for 2 for drinks as when I rang up was advised to do so. Was asked if we were ready to order food and replied that we were only here for drinks. The lady behind the bar came over and said 'for future reference, I don't accept bookings for drinks only'. The pub was dead with only a handful of people in it. Needless to say, we finished our drinks and went to The Whistle Stop instead. I won't be back.

Simple food over priced and so so salty! seasoned to the point it was almost not edible. The chicken dish had been over seasoned and burnt! The girl serving had no basic customer service skills. The experience was very poor and the dish not worth what we paid for it. It’s a shame because the location rocks.

Having not been to the Spread Eagle for a while, a friend and I decided we would go to make a change. We both thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Both the food and drinks were great, we both selected a burger from the menu, The Texan and The Blue and both were fantastic. Staff were friendly and attentive. Upon leaving we thanked them for a great evening and commented on how good the food was, and were told on Mondays it’s “Burger Night” where burgers are 2 for 1! I think another visit is soon on the cards! Well done Spread Eagle Team.

Service - Friendliness: very friendly staff and owner, made us feel very welcome and comfortable.Service - Speed/Attentiveness: excellent, they were quite busy with lunches but still attended to us very well.Food - First Visual Impression: I went for the wrap with Cajun steak, my friend had the pulled pork wrap, both were wonderfully presented, see my pic..Food - Taste and Quality: the food was beautifully prepared and generous, the steak was cooked to perfection, the chips are superb!.Environment/Cleanliness: it’s a well presented cosy pub, especially at the tables around the bar, very comfy seating and homely..Value: very reasonably priced for clearly good quality food produce..Other (wifi, Parking etc): loads of off road parking, very large garden at the back, a decent sized patio out the front. I did not use the wifi as I had a full signal on my EE phone.Overall Summary: I highly recommend the Spread Eagle, a real treat, great service and good value!

Found this little gem of a pub today with my wife, despite being the hottest day in June in history, I still wanted a traditional Sunday roast.. & that’s exactly what I got here at the eagle. The roast beef was insane. Very generous size portion, with all the trimmings, best Yorkshire pud I think I’ve ever had AND cauli cheese is included in the price. Winner winner in my eyes! Shared the churros for pud with my wife, they also were amazing. I’d like to say a special shout out to the staff who looked after us today, beyond polite and friendly without being too in your face. Can’t wait to return!

Wow! WOW!What fantastic food, my wife ordered Sunday meals to be delivered this evening (Sun 17th Jan 21)The food arrived bang on time, it was delivered safely (2 meter rule). The food was piping hot and we were absolutely amazed at the quality and the quantity, it will also do us for Monday supper.I had the beef roast and my wife had the mixed meat roast, Beef, Turkey and succulent Gammon. The vegetables were cooked to perfection with the broccoli still having a slight crunch to it, the roast potatoes and parsnips were crisp on the outside and deliciously soft inside, red cabbage, carrots, swede and green beans accompanied the meal.I honestly don't know how a meal can be produced to that very high standard for the price (I say that in a whisper because I don't want them to put the prices up) My wife and I and a good number of our local friends have frequented 'The Spread' on many, many occasions, the food is always excellent, it is our go-to place for a meal out.Well done yet again The Spread Eagle. Many thanks for another delicious meal that doesn't break the bank . We stopped at the Spread Eagle in Liss for a drink and possibly lunch. I ordered a pint of lager shandy and a half pint of 1664 to take into the garden while we had a look at the menu. The cost of these two drinks was £11.20 These prices make drinking in Knightsbridge look cheap. As a result we drank up and left without bothering to have lunch. They might be trying to make up for the lockdown but this will drive people away.

We asked if we could use my toddler’s buggy instead- they’re not allowing because of COVID. We left. Went to The Queen’s Head in Sheet to enjoy delicious, hassle-free pizza, high chair included. Should also mention the overflowing wall mounted ash tray that greets you as you enter the restaurant. Gross. All-in-all, a blessing that they were so unaccommodating!

Taking advantage of the Eat in to Help out scheme, we booked a table for four . Protocols were in place and we were greeted by very friendly, welcoming, masked staff. The menu was , I assume, as extensive as pre lockdown and had a Mexican theme - though not exclusively so. Our meals were absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. I can highly recommend the Spreadeagle fish pie which was full of quality fish and prawns with a creamy cheesy mash topping accompanied by an excellent salad. The others in the party would recommend the pork belly, beef rib and the Texan burger. Menu prices were very reasonable and a massive bargain when the Eat in to help out scheme is applied.

Having used their delivery service during lockdown, we thought we’d give them a visit. We’d booked in advance so we’re guaranteed a table. It was very busy. Socially distancing measures in place. We had to queue to get in, made us late for our table as we had to queue with people ordering multiple drinks from the bar. We were sat in the corner, right next to the gents loo. The queue for the loo was pretty much constant during our visit, with the door banging in between visits. The food was amazing. Service was extremely slow. We waited 25 mins from getting our bill to paying, after being waved away from the bar rather than paying by card we left cash on the table.

I popped mine in the microwave as I like it piping hot. I had the turkey and he had the beef. Both tender. Very generous helpings, six ( Irepeat six !) different vegetables all very nicely cooked al dente. We are going to treat ourselves regularly this way. After seeing someone on Nextdoor share how good their meal from Spread Eagle was I really wanted to give it a go. There aren’t many (decent) takeaways in the local area and my craving for a nice meal out is obviously going to be unfulfilled for a little while... at least I thought.I ordered southern fried chicken with Cajun fries and garlic bread, my partner ordered a burger (we forget which already, but remember it had brie on) with the fries too. I also ordered a cider. The food arrived within the hour slot I selected - a nice option. It was piping hot and honestly some of the best food I’ve eaten in a while. My chicken was nicely cooked, not dry, and the chips were flavourful and a little spicy - perfect! Partner had no complaints about the burger. From what I saw the burger itself was very thick.Delivery driver practiced social distancing, and left the food on the doorstep before leaving the front garden and waiting for us to grab it. Pricing was very reasonable. Two meals, one side, and a bottle of drink plus the delivery fee came to £30 ish. We plan on making this a bi-weekly treat during lockdown. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Once this is all over we’ll definitely be paying the pub a visit.

This isn't my choice of pub to celebrate events but as I have family who can walk to it, I have endured a number of meals. For Sunday lunch they don't have enough staff so you end up with long waits and no opportunity to order more drinks. I don't think the food is anything worth waiting for nearly £20 for a cold steak and was then snapped at when i asked a question. I will have to return but not by choice.

Three of us travelled to the Spread Eagle for a lunchtime meal. The pub had a relaxed feel and our meals, a brisket burger, a halloumi burger and the house “pie of the day” were all thoroughly enjoyed. We also had excellent service. So it appears that this establishment can be thoroughly recommended? Well….not quite! When we looked closely at our bill we discovered that the half pints of soft drinks ordered, lemonade and lime and a diet coke cost £2-60 each, or £5-20 a pint. Ironically, my pint of continental type lager cost £4-50, a 70p price difference. As two of us had driven a fair distance to meet at the pub, soft drinks were the sensible option but we did not expect this sort of mark up. It was not as if we had ordered more expensive bottled drinks. Sadly, we will not be visiting the Spread Eagle again.

This pub has got so many things right - a cosy log fire, friendly staff and very good food including some tasty vegan options. The first room you walk into has more character than the second. The pub is nicely situated with playing fields and green space behind. However much more could be made of the outdoor space. Adding some plants and shrubs to the seating area, spacing out the tables and removing the deflated bouncy castle would be a great start. An attractive planted area around the tables would definitely make the pub more appealing to all those who want to have a drink or meal outside as the weather gets warmer.

Having paid £20 for a Christmas dinner was presented with a plate of meat, vegetables,a large yorkshire pudding all swimming in tasteless gravy. The soggy turkey slices were not carved from a bird and why were the vegetables piled onto the plate?

4 different meals and 4 satisfied customers! It was a chilly night but it was lovely and warm close by the huge open fire! ( not too hot but certainly took the chill off!). The service was excellent and the young ladies serving us were very helpful and friendly. Would we recommend The Spread Eagle? We certainly do and we are sure to return there in the near future.

What a find! Stopped here for lunch on our way back from the Isle of Wight to London. The burgers were amazing, the staff were all friendly and helpful. There was even a bouncy castle and a trampoline for the kids. Will definitely make this part of the holiday again next time.

We had a really great lunch here on Saturday. The staff were excellent and the food good quality. The only downsides were the toilets and trampoline. The toilets really really need updating - they are not a pleasant experience and would be such a simple fix. Also one of the sides of the trampoline net has broken - so that ought to be fixed.

Visited for a family meal and often eat/drink here. Food is always very good and normally a nice atmosphere. On this particular occasion the group behind our table at the bar were loud, rude and obnoxious. Very disappointing, especially as my partner and I had eaten there the night before and the same staff who were working didn't even acknowledge us. I will say our waitress on the night we visited with family was very friendly and hopefully she will of got her tip.

Visited for a Saturday lunch. Had booked a table, was quickly served our drinks and order taken. Our main courses were excellent, vegetables were cooked perfectly and a really great selection not just the usual suspects. By the time we finished our lunch the pub was very busy and the staff seemed to be struggling a bit to stay on top of everyone so we got a bit forgotten. Got our desserts and I have to say my sticky toffee pudding was a bit sad, more like a sponge with toffee sauce. But the rest of my party enjoyed their other desserts.

If it’s fine pub dinning you want then the spread eagle offers great food at great prices and in a homely country pub with ope log fires and a great selection of beers and other drinks. The burgers are to die for and all home made, try one, they really are great!

Our first visit to this traditional country pub in at least 10 years and we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The evening dinner was excellent and a competitive price for the area. Wines are a bit pricey, but nice. Fair selection of well kept beers. We will definitely be back. Just one thing, it would be good to know if the Ladies facilities are due to be refurbished as they let this lovely pub down badly. I would think they haven't been upgraded for a very long time? This feedback is intended positively and I hope that it is taken that way.

Popped in unplanned. Food was really excellent and service exceptional. Little kind touches that made us feel so very special. Will make the same diversion on the way back!

We go to the Spread Eagle fairly regularly, whether it's for lunch, dinner or just a drink or two and can't speak highly enough of the place. It's a good family (and dog) friendly pub, with a decent menu and a play area and bouncy castle in the beer garden to keep the little ones entertained, so it's is our go-to venue whenever we have people staying.

We have visited twice over the last month, first for lunch and now for dinner. On both occasions we have been pleasantly surprised, the ploughmans lunch was fantastic with a great mix of cheese, ham and pork pie, and my wife had the baked cheese which I was assured was delicious. Tonight we had the southern fried chicken, which I would have liked spicier, and the fish pie which was very tasty with lots of fish and cheesy mash. This is a proper pub selling good home cooked food in a great environment and we would definitely recommend it.

I met up with my son and grandson for Sunday lunch, based on Trip Advisor reviews. Right from the time of ordering my first drink a very friendly welcome was much appreciated. When ordering our roasts my 6 year old grandson was treated as well as if he had been an adult, even if he ended up eating turkey thinking it was chicken. The staff did not let on! The quality and quantity of the main course was exceptional. With my saddle of lamb were red cabbage, carrots, roast potatoes, roast parsnip, cauliflower cheese, Yorkshire pudding and some swede, topped up with a tasty gravy.

Attended this lovely pub tucked away in a very piteresque village on a Sunday late afternoon. We were a party of 3. Staff were very attentive and the pub had a lovely atmosphere with a real burning log fire. Location was also dog friendly.

Enjoyed a beautiful Sunday roast dinner after choosing our Christmas tree at Wylds Farm. We don’t know the area so checked recommendations on trip advisor and found this pub close by. Strongly recommend very relaxed atmosphere and beautiful food. Our children all enjoyed roast dinners, portions very generous. We will definitely be back!

found this pub by chance when we pulled off the dual carriageway on our way to petersfield . lovely barmaid, nice couple of pints of doombar beer and had possibly the best burger ive ever had, mind you at £14 it needed to be good. i plumped for the spicy spanish burger with chips and my 3 travelling companions all had the texas burger . we all said how good the burgers were. well worth calling in .

Not many pubs around these days that feel like a real pub. Buzzy atmosphere, lots of people at the bar, a few dogs. The food was basic pub grub mainly, but appetizing and good value. Being a Friday night, the service was a little slow, but the staff friendly and willing. Would definitely go back.

My wife and I stopped here for lunch while out cycling at the weekend. The young lady behind the bar was extremely polite and professional. My wife ordered the mushroom panini and I had the cajun beef burger. We both thoroughly enjoyed our food and I would say my burger was possibly the best I've ever had. Bold statement I know but I honestly cannot remember having such a flavorsome and well cooked burger before. Even the bun it was served in was delicious. The chips were excellent as well.

We stayed one night and ate in restaurant. Only had starters but food was very nice. Friendly staff member called Olly. Couldn’t have been more helpful. Good nights sleep. Then breakfast !! One male member of staff who just couldn’t be bothered. Zero customer service. Got us a hot drink but no offer of fruit juice, toast or any cereal. Glasses on table too. Hot breakfast was lovely though.

From the moment we held our son’s christening here in 2022, I knew this is the place I’d get married. Simon and the team are the most accommodating, adaptable, friendly people and deserve a medal for putting up with us and our requests. No question went unanswered, no request was too much. Simon never ever left me waiting for a reply and encouraged us to visit the venue as often as we needed to set the scene. We had 3 whole days to set up (not that we needed it as Simon and the team were on hand to make everything look perfect before we arrived). He liaised with our suppliers and kept us updated constantly! He knew exactly what we wanted and exceeded all expectations! The following morning (with some sore heads) we arrived to undress the venue to find most of it had been done for us and our cards and gifts locked safely away. He even let my son have a ride on the lawn mower! My only regret from the day was not having our ceremony at the departure lounge as they make it look so beautiful! The highest recommendations go to Simon and the team at the departure lounge and we’re already looking for another excuse to throw a party here.

Absolutely random visit! We were desperate for lunch on our way home from Guildford and hadn't made plans as to where we were going to eat. My wife spotted a brown sign with a knife and fork and 'garden centre' on it so we turned off the A31 to give it a try. We are so glad we did! The Tree House Coffee Shop is an absolute gem of a café in a family run garden centre. Lovely, welcoming, friendly staff, good food and absolutely gorgeous homemade cakes. Mrs P even got chance to spend some time with the garden centre's cat! One disappointment - we don't live nearby!!
