Friendly staff and lovely food. The cafe has a lovely atmosphere and great food. This cafe is dog friendly and offers a wide variety of options for food. There is however limited parking outside but plenty of space around the town and pay and display car parks near by.

I was visiting Seaford for the day, for the first time, with mum. We needed somewhere for a simple lunch and came across the Spotted Dog cafe tucked down a side street, just off the High Street. It was very clean inside and we had a lovely welcome. We were presented with menus and there was a good choice of lunch ideas. We settled for a bacon sandwich (mum) and a sausage sandwich (me). We also shared a portion of chips which were an absolute bargain at £2! The food came quickly and was delicious. Really lovely fresh bread and well filled. The chips were delicious. We also had a large pot of tea for two. The total bill was just under £14 which was great value. We would definitely come here again next time we are in Seaford. All the staff were really friendly and chatty. Nice, clean toilet too.

This is a really lovely cafe and tea room, particularly in the summer when you can use the courtyard garden. The real negative about it is the appalling way they dress their waitresses. They are all in Victorian style maids uniforms with aprons, so disgraceful in this day and age that women are expected to dress in this way. I’ve never seen any male staff there but if there were would they really be dressed as Victorian servants? So derogatory to women I’ve now started to go to the Green Welly down the road which at least appears to treat their staff with more respect. In light of the owners response I would like to add that I had no idea this was a 1940s themed cafe, obviously there’s a Vera Lynne room but otherwise it’s just a quirky cafe. Not sure where the piles of cakes, tea garden, huge breakfasts and avocado smash fit into a 40s ration book theme but these are welcome additions if not the treatment of serving staff.
