Excellent food and service. Really enjoyed it!

We came here for the pub quiz and disco bingo but once we stepped inside, we really liked the ambiance and the set up outside. We weren't originally planning to get food but something enticed us to....We ordered the calamari and hummus small plates but they came out massive and we were impressed by both the size and taste....We really enjoyed the service, the food and of course the quiz and bingo! We said we will be coming back to try out some more food!

Been here a few times now and never been disappointed with the food, atmosphere or service. Just make sure you leave plenty of time for your Sunday roast if you do go!

This place has really gone down hill! I ordered a Cheese and Ham Sandwich from a lovely friendly member of staff. When my sandwich came it was a tomato and onion sandwich. Not what I ordered so I explained to the nice barman that this isn’t what I ordered and I can’t actually eat tomato or onion so he took the sandwich back. All I heard then was the chef shouting at the nice barman it was disgusting! The chef made the mistake and was shouting. Then a lovely lady brought my replacement sandwich which had tomato in it and a lot of tomato! I heard the barman tell the chef that I couldn’t eat Tomato! The food was not good. My friends sandwich was not good either! The people behind the bar were very friendly and helpful they gave me a refund. But I won’t ever go back in while that chef is there. Rudeness, rubbish food and horrible toilets! It used to be such a lovely place to go. What a shame!

Went for Sunday roast. Would recommend making a reservation as it gets busy. Our table had 2 reservations after ours. The staff were friendly and efficient and made for a good experience. We had the roast sirloin and the roast pork. The sirloin comes with yorkshire pudding but it's extra for the pork. For dessert we had the apple and rhubarb crumble - I asked for ice cream but got it with cream - no worried. Also had the strawberries and cream. The is a garden at the back but it was raining so I don't know what that would be like. A+ for the staff, B+ for the food (sides costing extra).

Great meal out with family after the rugby. We were invited to pre order our meals and our table was waiting for us when we arrived. Service was excellent and our Sunday roasts were great. Highly recommended

General attitude and service dreadful Food good but we had to constantly ask for menus, then drinks, then wait a Rusupo is amount of time for starters, then again ask to be served for mains and wait an inordinate amount of time to receive the food despite not hugely busy When we questioned the service charge we receive atttiude and ultimately the server slamming the pay machine down aggressively Frankly they need to look at their service and attitude

Went for Sunday roast.. food was really tasty and all fresh, home made. The mint sauce was best ever! Reasonably priced.. a long wait for the food but when handed clearly home cooked food we didn't mind so much.

Really disappointed after reading previous reviews. Very average Sunday Lunch did not live up to expectations and I’m afraid we would not return. Very pricey for what we received and we were charged 75p for an extra Yorkshire pudding.

Large party of us , allocated on same table. Everything was great. By only neg is that like so many places with no soft furnishings and very open there's a lot of background noise. Could do with something to dampen sound a bit ..but that's just my preference

Very tasty food, helpful and friendly staff.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch here at 5pm. There are Six main course options on the menu, chicken, beef, lamb pork and two veggie dishes. I think between the six of us we had most of the options and all were delicious! Large portions, great vegetable accompaniment, rich tasty gravy and Yorkshire's with all dishes. Didn't try the sweets because we were all stuffed full! Reasonable price for such great food and service. Compliments to the chef from all of us.

Fantastic roast, great local pub with a lot of open space and somehow feels cosy! Really good food, the beef roast was excellent! Really nice vibe in The Spotted Cow. perfect for people of all ages. A fantastic garden put the back which is bound to become a regular spot for us in the warmer months!

Great pub with large outside beer garden. Great for a sunny day or a cold evening with their heated lamps. Recommend to anyone in the area.

My eldest daughter and I went here for the Sunday roast lunch. The last time we came here was in 2020 with my other daughter amidst Covid regulations and we had to sit outside due to limited seating indoors. Today’s visit was very good staff were quick, friendly and polite and very attentive. The lunch was good I had the roast beef and my daughter the lamb and we even found space for dessert. All in all very good but the only downside was that the food was not that hot and being quite a substantially sized serving, halfway through the food was beginning to get cold. I would recommend the place and would go back again.

Winter review: try to snag the table near the fire, it’s incredibly cosy. Good beer, nice staff, dog friendly.

Tasty roast dinner with a generous portion and plenty of vegetables. Cauliflower cheese was a little dry but overall a pleasent experience. Staff were friendly as well. Slight niggle - table of 3 but on a table of 2 which made it quite squashed when a couple were sat next to us on a table for 4? Just something to think about next time….

The Roast was okay but not worth the price. £1.50 for extra gravy seemed steep. Service was good tho.

Really average roast tbh. The beef was so fatty and over cooked/chewy. Not nice. Soggy potatoes too, wouldn’t come back to eat. Service was all over the place. Had to send back a drink as it tasted awful, fair play to the bartender who made it again. Impossible to get a hold of someone over the table to order or get menus. We just went and grabbed the menus ourselves. When we got the bill, they overcharged us so I sent it to them, then they brought back a bill that was even more expensive with random drinks from other tables. They apologised again and the third bill was correct. They said ‘oh sorry, sometimes other things float onto the bills when it’s really busy’ that’s sooo bad though. Also bathrooms were dirty :(

Friday lunchtime, empty Now, why would that be when you have a pretty decent lunch menu. Could it be that both members of staff are completely morose. No greeting when arriving at the bar, no smile, why are you employing kids who have no social skills?

Lovely atmosphere with nice food but service was a bit slow on a Sunday.

First off the staff are super friendly and welcoming - always a good sign. The beers were all good and a good selection. Food was OK...Venison Pasta great, ditto the mussels - The fish (plaice) and chips were so so...I am not sure breading and deep frying plaice is a great idea unlike cod or haddock. Chips were fantastic This is a minor quibble - as a great local pud...Recommended!

Had a wonderful time at The Spotted Cow this evening, the bar staff were wonderful and the atmosphere was lovely! Could not recommend it more, my only criticism was that the chairs were super uncomfortable and felt like they might break if I had come in for a Sunday Roast, would have totally given them a 5 star if it weren’t for the chair situation!

I can't comment on the food, because I didn't eat there on this occasion, but I must say that it was the only pub in the area serving Laphroaig. Great atmosphere too. Highly recommended.

We love the spotted cow, friendly, cosy and always a great atmosphere. It’s our local and we can always rely on it for a yummy and affordable dinner. The ever changing menu is always a treat. Highly recommend, we love you!!

The spotted cow is a great place for a drink on a weekend. I haven’t eaten here yet but I would like to! They’re dog friendly and have a lush beer garden out the back. Really great on a summers day

Great food, good choice of beer Inc 0% and spirits. There's something weird about the acoustics that make it hard to hear a conversation, if they could get this right it would be pretty much perfect.

Quality pub, service is friendly. There's a decent beer garden at the back. Interior decor is smart looking. Pubs well maintained. Roast was amazing, had a roast beef with cauliflower cheese and it was amazing. Yorkshire pudding, gravy, roast potatoes, red cabbage were delicious. Beef and cauliflower cheese were some of the best I've had in Bristol. Prices are decent as well.

We had a lovely meal at The Spotted Cow last night. The staff were friendly, service good and the food delicious and good value, as were the drinks. The only suggestion is that the loos could do with some updating to match the rest of the place. All in all though, highly recommended.

A beautiful pub with friendly staff. A nice—albeit a bit loud on a Saturday afternoon after Bristol City FC local game, as one would expect—place, well kept and beautiful, with big garden in back. Classier than average pubs, with madening smells coming from kitchen. Very recommended.

Love this pub however the glasses are always dirty with lip prints and lipstick. If that was fixed I would give 5 stars.

Has a really lovely dinner here. We both had the roast pollack with dill potato salad. It was delicious and filling. The staff were super friendly too.

When Vicky was a chef there it was the best BURGUERS ever!!! I’m pretty sure they are still great!! Best in Bristol 🙌

If you want a great beer garden then this is a must go, it has a great vibe but I wouldn’t run for the food.

I have just left this pub and feel compelled to write a review I have not had such a fantastic Sunday afternoon in a long time and we eat Sunday lunch out a lot From the spacious way the tables are laid out to the amazing friendly service and piping hot delicious dinner This pub has got it so right !!! Mind what you order at this pub. I went for a Sunday lunch on 28th May and ordered fish. I started to feel nauseous in the late evening and within 12 hours was vomiting violently the pub food. When my body got rid of the lunch, I immediately started to feel better . I contacted the manager, it took almost a week for him to reply. He said well... we have checked in the kitchen and everything nothing is expired... I was asked to fill a form and I have not heard from them again. On the other had the garden is lovely.

Website says no bookings requited for garden. Get a table in garden and told have to have a booking for food. Would advise making the website clearer.

Amazing service, best bar staff ever

Great place, fantastic atmosphere, lovely cosy log fire & lit candles on large natural wood tables, nice & spacious and great outdoor seating, very friendly bar staff. Would have given it 5 * but I haven't eaten in there yet so can't say what the food is like .

Large pub on Bedminster's North Street, with extensive rear garden which catches the afternoon sun. Central bar with seating around at various levels and choice of tables, benches, and soft seating. Good real ale choice. Food available (check website for details). Can get very busy, and is very popular with families and groups of friends alike.

Pretty good roast, and decent vibe. Staff were v helpful and lovely. Would recommend this place on North St to anyone after some decent food and a pint with a relaxed vibe.

Asked us to order in advance. Then forgot to serve us. Food was good when it came.

Roasts are a bit sad. Chicken was one small thigh and the veggie pie was tiny. Wouldn't recommend it.

A dog friendly pub which was very busy for an early Thursday evening. Fish, chips and peas were cooked well and tasted great. Two of our group had apple crumble served in a cup and saucer- ratio of lumps of apple to crumble wasn't quite right for those that like plenty of crumble! Serving staff were friendly and efficient.

We had a Sunday lunch for 14 at the Spotted Cow for my partner's birthday on 5 February. I have to say thank you to the staff, who couldn't have been more helpful and friendly, they made the lunch a really enjoyable. The food was excellent, the service was efficient and all had a good time. Many thanks Matt & Jenny

Five of us ate here with all meals being different choices. Food was excellent. Choice covered all our palates we will definitely be back.
