Brewers Fayre in Bristol, City of

Absolutely awful on Mother's Day. We arrived just after half 2 and walked out at 5pm after waiting well over an hour for a brownie. We asked for an update, given we had our 5 month old son with us, and the waitress just didn't come back. Over half hour later we had to leave and there were no staff around to speak to then either so no refund as we paid before the food. Definitely wouldn't recommend.

Have been in here a few times after work and have to say Gary is one the most hospitable barmen in the centre of Bristol!

Gary is the most wonderful barmen I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. Always sorts us out with the best pints and service with a smile!

This is the best brewers fayre. Great choice of food and fantastic staff. I enjoyed my visit and my gammon. I was served by Pri, Garry and Jess. They have offers on main meals at the moment that will help family out.

The team that work at this branch are simply the best of the best. We are regulars at Brewer's Fayre and have been for a while now. We extend a massive thanks to Hollie and Gary tonight (20th March); they are always amazing. A friendly and helpful team await all who enter this branch in Bristol; this gastro-style pub is an absolute must. Brewer's Fayre have great deals, some of the best around. These days we're all trying to save a bit here and there, and Brewer's will help, with meals at just five pounds each between 12 and 6 p.m. You can get many of the pub classics, including fish and chips, curries, mixed grills and a whole lot more. Their breakfast and carvery are incredible; you simply must visit, maybe even make it your local. A big "Hello" also to Prie, Nathan, Vicky, Jessica, Lisa and the rest of this great team, including the chefs.

Popped in for a bit of lunch today , decided on the Pizza , I can honestly say it was dreadful , nearly £12 for a frozen pizza which tasted awful , I've had better from Iceland for £3 !!! The only plus side was the staff were quite friendly and the place was clean , other than that don't bother wasting your money.

My friend and I have been here a couple of times recently and Gary has been persistent in giving the absolute best customer service. He makes it a delightful visit each time and makes us both want to come back. Couldn’t praise him enough

Came from London to Bristol to visit family and friends and came across this restaurant. The staff are brilliant and serve delicious food. I stayed in the attached hotel for 2 weeks and always came to dine in this restaurant, I felt at ease and the staff made my stay delightful. I will miss everyone when I go back.

Each time we've visited, there has always been a lovely, chilled, family friendly atmosphere here, even on a Saturday evening. All the bar and waiting staff are so friendly and helpful, and they really make it a place you want to return to. The menu seems to have got slightly smaller recently, but we enjoyed our food.

Popped in for a Sunday roast on a recommendation. Superb lunch with a nice variety of vegetables. But what made it for me was the staff and the family friendly atmosphere they've created. So I noted down Pri, Craig, Sarah, Chloe and Lisa. I will now pass on the recommendation to others.

Gary was the man behind the bar taking orders. He also did table clearing. Always with a cheerful and friendly mannerism. Always working hard. It was a complete pleasure, so thank you very much Brewers Fayre, you should be proud of your staff and the service they give. We will be back ..Thank you

We've been several times and on occasions been served by a young man named Gary. He is always so polite and helpful. Service and food is brilliant.

Amazing food as when I've been here before drinks prices are great, all the staff are very amicable so would recommend it to everyone. They check to see that your food is o.k. Manager Pricilla works staff well.

I come into brewers fayre with me and my partner , we eat here most days. We find the males are cost-effective. You can get a really nice meal for £5 as an adult and have much money. It’s perfect. The staff are very helpful, polite and accommodating especially the manager Bri Lewis mead Bristol.

I went to brewers with my family today and the food was delicious and tasty, I had a mixed grill the steak was cooked perfectly, would definitely come again

Came in for break feast it was a lovely visit and I had a watrist called chloe who was lovely and complement to the chef it was amazing

This was a busy little hub of a pub/ restaurant when we visited. We stopped for a late lunch as we were staying in the adjoining hotel. It was busy and they did seem to be understaffed for how many people were in for a Saturday. It took a long time to be served at the bar for either a drink or to order food. The ladies serving were very friendly however. We ordered our lunch. The portion of chips that was ordered for my daughter was smaller than most of the portions that came with other meals ordered. One of us ordered a smothered chicken, (requested no bacon, personal choice) but when it arrived it to be honest looked sad on the plate. Completely unappetising to look at and eat. Extremely dry & hard garlic bread. Even a tiny side salad would make it look more appealing?! Tasted ok but not the nicest meal I have ever eaten. A friend had a chicken burger and it was average she said but we were hungry. Breakfast the next morning was better, the poached eggs we asked for were fried however. Sausages were delicious and a nice enjoyable breakfast with a good amount of choice with children eating for free with a cooked breakfast. I would probably only have the cooked breakfast here again and explore Bristols many eateries for lunch and dinner. Convenient place for a few drinks in the evening if you are staying in the hotel.

I would really like to say a huge thankyou to Brandon & Lisa who on our 3 day stay next door have taken amazing care of me and my two daughters, they knew they were having a rough time with hospital appointments nearby (one of them having an operation) they also know I'm disabled from previous visits (we are from over 3 hrs away but stay here every time we have hospital for the girls) Every time we stay these two amazing people have treated us so nicely & go above and beyond to help in anyway- thankyou so much xx (the stressed mum) Stacey x

Absolute fifth greasy onion rings the steak must be the worst I’ve ever had the young ladies working there have not got a clue sticky tables. I’d never eat in a brewers fayre again cheap crap😡😡😡😡

We was met by Brandon. He was very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. An absolute gentleman. Brewers Fair you’re lucky to have such an employee.

Had lunch at Bewers Fayre today 20th August 1.15pm my husbands meal which was lasagne was lovely, I had smothered chicken which was not so good, part of the chicken was burnt and no bacon. Didn't bother to take it back as the restaurant was full. And we already waited 45 minutes for our food. And to be fair they were rather busy. So we were really disappointed.

Twice now thought I would give it a second chance, absolutely not worth the money small measly portions my opinion don't bother.

Should accept that they have food promotion's and not make it difficult and slightly embarrassed to use their promotional deals.

Went for a meal to this brewers Fayre at Lewins mead with my partner and had a great experience. The food was really nice and came out quickly and was hot and the overall service was very good. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful but would like to give a special mention to Gary who went above and beyond to make sure we were enjoying our food and had the best possible experience, even making sure we got the discount we were eligible for. Would definitely recommend this place for a meal that isn’t too expensive but still good quality.

***update*** Visited again and food was awful and not worth the money even with a 20% discount. Steaks unedible and long wait despite only 4 others being in the restaurant. Young manager/cook out of his depth. Two stars for older bar tender. Will not be returning. 🤮🤮 Have eaten here in groups many times and cannot fault the food, value and service. Even if you have the two meals for under £10 the meals are more than adequate. Excellent value all round and staff consistent on every visit. Highly recommend and look forward to attending again.

Food was terrible and chips were cold salad was cheap and awful

This once lively place seems to have gone down hill. Visited on 6/7/24 @17hrs party of 2. Empty bar one small group and a few people watching the football.Had to book table but not asked for names ect. Instantly told there is a 30 minute wait for food. Not much of a problem as we weren't sure if we were going to stay there or not. Of all the people wanting food to arrive after us only one family stayed due to wait times. Restaurant was practically empty the whole time. Purchased drinks while then deciding to order food. Told then theres a 45 minute wait as person in kitchen had been left in there all day on their own. When the 2 steaks arrived we both found that instead of being medium rare and rare they were well done and medium rare. Full of Sinue, couldn't be chewed ect. I called over a barman to tell him and he was very understanding. He told kitchen person then came back to us and said manager will sort something out and did we want some drinks to make up for it. I refused that. Person that served me came to the table and said he had cooked the steaks and they were fine when he did them eventhough on the plates was the evidence they weren't fine. He then slated us basically blaming the supplier of the steaks and saying the sinue was fat and thats normal for steak which we agreed would be normal but not in this case. He offered us puddings. Once again we refused as that wasn't the point of the complaint. He turned out to be the Manager. Shocking treatment and ruined a part of my Birthday celebration.

Having paid for my breakfast, I ordered poached eggs this morning, I enquired about my order after 20 minutes, it appears the chef forgot to cook them. I waited a further 20 munutes and ended up leaving without having received my order. Had they just said they couldn't do it as they were too busy, then I would have just got on with my breakfast. Instead I was left waiting and ended up having to leave. Very disappointed!!

If you want somewhere to go for food i recommend brewers fayre. I came here for food yesterday lunch time and the food was delicious. They do a deal for 2 meals for £11.50 which is great value for 2 people

I dine at brewers fayre regularly and I must say lewins mead brewers fayre is by far the best, friendly staff and always lovely hot food

Disgusting went with my son and pregnant partner we all ended up very unwell. Not worth it save your money. I called to explain and they where just rude to me.

I feel sorry for the young staff who had to serve such poor quality food. I hate to call it disgusting because plenty of people in this world would be glad of it. I had to walk out as I couldn't trust myself to complain civilly to the staff. It's little wonder Whitbread wants to concentrate on it's accomodation which is good! Michael Smith

The food was good when it arrived. Reasonably priced. Comfortable and clean venue. Been there twice recently. First time it took 50 minutes for food to arrive. It was good. The second time when ordering was told, it would take an hour. I could not wait that long. Good venue but obvious staffing difficulties lead to poor customer service. I went elsewhere and am unlikely to return.

I was staying at the Premier Inn and wanted something light to eat. I ordered the nachos and a couple of sides. When the order arrived the nachos was a plate of cold crisps, a squirt of cheese and a tomato. I asked the waiter about the sour cream and he said they didn’t have any. I asked if he could at least heat the nachos up thinking it would take a couple of minutes. I ate the sides and waited….and waited….then gave up. The restaurant wasn’t busy either. Disappointing

I come here everyweek to meet friends and sometimes just pop in to see the friendly staff lisa, Gary and pri who are all amazing. The food is always hot and very tasty

Chefs Nathan and Kornel supplied us with excellent food Service from the bar and in the restaurant, from Gary, Brandon and Vicki, was very pleasant, friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going there again.

The barman over charge me for a drink because he thought I ordered a beer and coffee and changed for both I need order a coffee and then said I will get a refund in 3 days ask to speak to the manager and said he was the manager and that was the was done poor by management as if it was my fault not his still waiting for my refund very poor

Visiting our son in Bristol so we met up here. We felt very welcome indeed and although we only wanted snacks and drinks, we felt as valued by the wonderful staff just as much as the large party of 30 who were also dining there. A very special shout out to Gary and Brandon for their attentiveness, patience and kindness - they are a credit to the company. Thank you 😊

Walked into Brewers Fayre today before travelling, and was greeting and shown to a table. When ordering, Lisa was very good at explaining the meals and pricing and catered to changes made to the meal. The pricing is a good range, without breaking the bank and the food tasted great! I'll be travelling from Bristol a very satisfied (and full) customer

Food reasonable for the price- we got the sunday lunch! The carver was a lovely man. The quantity of meat was not huge, however, trimmings were unlimited and reasonably good quality, especially the peas. Be warned, the price has risen to £11.49 from the £10.49 displayed online for the sunday roast which was a bit of a shock. Very quiet at 3pm; arguably a hidden gem.

Lovely food, great service. Clean restaurant. Ate both nights of my trip and both mornings for breakfast. Kitchen really accomodating and made gluten free toast and poached eggs on request. Lovely lady running the place on the first night the Gary the manager on the second night was a great example of excellent customer service!
