The Space Invader in Cheshire East

First time visiting the Space Invader today. Arranged a birthday lunch for a family birthday/Mothers Day celebration. Have to say we were so impressed with the venue, food and staff! Everyone said how friendly and efficient they were. Meals were delicious and served promptly (pre-ordered). We will definitely be back here again!

We have just been to the Space Invader for lunch today and dined off the Seniors Menu. We have been here a number of times recently and have always been pleased with the meal. Unfortunately today was an exception, I had vegetable fritters, three very tiny pieces. Previously they have been totally adequate, next I had fish gougons which turned out to be the size of a king prawn in its shell and 6 chips. Previously this dish has been served on a normally size plate today however it was served on a small entree plate - not worth the money. Having taken friends today we were somewhat embarrassed having said how previously it was very good . Asked the waitress if portion sizes had been reduced. She said no but not what we had received in the past. We will not be partaking of the Seniors menu again and I only have a small appetite but remain hungry! If the todays portion size had always been like this I wouldn't have complained, I just wouldn't have gone back.

We all chose off the Special Pensioners menu and it was all delicious. Service was excellent. We didn’t have to wait and the food was piping hot, presented on the plate perfectly and tasted yummy. The deserts were superb too. We all had coffee and all three of us commented on how nice the coffee was too. We could not fault the whole meal. We shall be back.

First visit and can't see us going again. The food was average at best and very expensive for what it was. Had a variety of dishes, sadly none of them were anything special. To be fair the staff were good and attentive and we didn't have to wait long We obviously knew before we ordered but the price of dishes was expensive, I was expecting much better.

Great food in a friendly atmosphere. We went on a Sunday for lunch and it was extremely good especially the huge Yorkshire pudding. Staff are always pleasant and attentive and nothing is too much trouble

First time and would definitely return - such a friendly pub with excellent staff and great menu with very tasty dishes. The service was excellent and a real homely friendly pub with good range of draught beers too.

The barman who served us, Andy, was so kind and pleasant, and attentive despite the restaurant being busy. A real credit to the place. The food was absolutely spot on - my parents had the goujons from the menu for the elderly - they really enjoyed it, could have done with one or two more chips that's all. My gluten free beef and onion barm was the best I've ever had. Normally in these things the beef is tough and leathery, it was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. Both enjoyed their puds - I think the choc torte could do with some raspberries to set it off as it was very rich, but lovely. Coffees were excellent too and the little biscuits lovely. Interesting history which I'd love to find more about - maybe some info on the tables? Such a welcoming pub, it's only 10 mins from my parents and we will be back for certain. Great to see a place so inviting for elderly people and encouraging the community to socialise.

We go there here on a regular basis as my parents live in Goostrey. Excellent food and fantastic service, my mum has children menu as she cant eat much these days. The staff are so attentive & friendly . We also went on Christmas eve and my birthday. When the specials are on very good. Delicious food we well recommend the space Invaders .

My wife and I had Sunday lunch. We both had chicken satay to start and roast beef with roast potatoes and all the trimmings for main course. The food and service was excellent.

I have steaks frites each time I come and it’s always delicious but tonight was exceptional! A lovely smoked flavour to the steak and the most delicious salad dressing! Thank you

We visited on Boxing Day and all five of us enjoyed wonderful meals. We were served by 2 friendly and efficient waiters, Andy and Caitlin. Excellent food and overall experience. Will definitely be back.

We enjoyed our dinner at the Space Invader very much. Excellent meals. The banana split was a work of art! Very friendly service at a 'Goldilocks' pace - not too quick, not too slow - perfect for a relaxed meal out with friends. We’ll certainly look forward to visiting again.

Friends recommended The Space Invader. Great ambience, friendly staff, live music but I was a tad disappointed with my meal. I ordered lamb, which was tasty but such a very small portion that I was still hungry once I had consumed it. It was a Main Course, not a Starter and I thought the price I paid might have warranted more than a few mouth fulls. On the plus side it was great to see a pub so lively and well used whilst others are empty and failing.

We've visited twice in the last week, once for an evening meal and again on Sunday with friends who had never been there. On both occasions the food was excellent, the service was great and the staff were really attentive and pleasant. The Sunday lunch roast dinners were massive and we would highly recommend them. We will definitely be visiting again, as will our friends. Thanks guys.

All that could be expected. Staff exemplary, accommodation fine. Only other comment, - bench seats on end wall rather shallow, not helped by fixed back-rests being too deep for comfort

Awesome place to watch the Rugby World Cup. Friendly crowd and great food, bar staff even handed out some nibbles for the game. Lovely area outside for post match relaxation

Had dinner with a friend this evening and so glad we chose here. The steak pie is awesome... every time. Waitress Caitlin was so lovely. Very attentive and efficient. Enjoyed our shandies too. Thank you for keeping steak pie on yhe menu!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our first visit. We loved the decor and great food. The young lady who served us was friendly and attentive even bringing our dog a bowl of water without our asking. A great location with easy parking. Recommended.

This has become a bit of a regular haunt on a Friday evening. Late night had sea bass which was expensive at £19 for one filet plus sides but it was excellent. The service here is very good too and a great choice of beers...

Excellent service, great selection of beers and the food was really good. We arrived at around 16:30 so had the choice of the lighter bites as well as the main menu.

Food was excellent and good selection on the menu. However from the service being good initially it faded as the night went on. It was as if we disappeared. We didn’t get the option to have a desert. We had to ask for coffees/more drinks....

The Sunday roast was excellent with plenty of meat, roast potatoes and veg. The staff were friendly and helpful. It has a really nice atmosphere.
