Haven’t been here since moving away 12 years ago. Used to like the food here. Came with my children to watch the football and have food. Ordered half way through the first half. Refused to take a 50 pound note as payment. Food eventually came during the second half. My kids chicken burgers were stone cold. Kids didn’t receive their dessert. I had to go to the bar and ask for it over an hour and a half after ordering. It eventually came after the game had finished when I wanted to leave. No apology in the slightest. Very disappointing

Lovely place to eat and drink . We were both very impressed and will be returning. Not only was the food delicious but the service was top quality.

Went into Southdowns for some food and drinks with ex-colleagues from work. Had a great evening, with lots of laughter - we all had the fish and chips which was lovely, the fish was huge! The variety of drinks was also really good, as was the service. Thanks to Evie who recommended that we downloaded the app for special offers. Will definitely be returning. Thank you.

Awful place! Waited an hour for our lunch even though it had hardly any people in there...didn't get told there would be a long wait. After an hour we asked how long it would be...got told about another 5 or 10 mins and were given a free drink. 20 mins later still no food so gave our drinks back untouched and asked for a refund. The place is a shambles I could understand if it was busy but it wasn't. They said it was because they had a big table in but we actually ordered our food before they even came in...won't be going back and definitely wouldn't recommend. Ended up grabbing a meal deal from Tesco across the road...waste of an afternoon really

Lovely family pub who are dog friendly which is great. Shoutout to evie who was very personable and friendly, and brought over a water bowl for our dog as it was a hot day. Good atmosphere and the food was tasty and good value for money. Will definitely return

I’d like to start by saying I’m always in this establishment it’s a very friendly lovely environment until we’re met by one particular member of staff (Jackie) she’s never polite she never smiles she never greets you she’s just very rude, today I popped in to see my family and she’s all of the above and more I find that I don’t really want to visit here anymore, a few people who have visited the said the same about her

Disgusting service, ordered a nachos for 2 and sausage and mash for 1. Only the nachos come and as we were lost in conversation we finished one meal and then asked where the other was. As it was busy and we’ve eaten here before, we cut them some slack for the missing meal. They told us it hadn’t been put through and there was nothing they could do apart from re order it 30 mins later. Manager who refused to give us his name, only told us “it’s by the front of the bar, get it off there” was incredibly rude and put the entire establishment to shame, will never ever return and will tell others to do the same, long lost family meal ruined.

Just had a wondering family meal for 13 of us in the Southdowns, we’ve been regulars for many years, but the new menu and the staff have been spot on recently! Food was quick, well presented and tasty! Lovely service. Everybody enjoyed it! That’s why we always go back!

Dreadful establishment. Tried to order a meal at 19:32 on Sunday and was curtly told no food after 19:30. Rude and unhelpful. A business turning away £50 / £80 on a Sunday evening deserves to go bust.

We came in today for an early Mother’s Day meal and I can’t fault a single thing. Emily looked after us and was exceptional. Amazing customer service, so friendly and warm. Made our evening so thank you so much. Absolute credit to your pub.

Very poor service the staff not at all interested carried on chatting while we were standing there waiting to order .then finally we placed our order to be told they don’t do any vegan food .I did Not like the fact that they scratch and itch there arms and face and heads Extremly poor hygiene from all glad we didn’t eat there I’d be horrified at wat ide find if I were to enter that kitchen .disgusting ,Don’t waste your money ,they are very dirty .

I went for a few drinks with a friend, having not visited for a few months. The atmosphere was really lovely, great staff who all seemed to get on well with each other and were actually happy to chat and interact with us even though it was towards the end of a long day for them. We've visited Southdowns in Felpham Bignor regis many times, service continues to be shocking, we come here because its convenient to walk to. We order on the app, as easier than queuing at the bar, but they regularly get our orders wrong and beer is flat. Tonight I got 5 pints for the price of two! Although it did take 20 minutes to get the first three pints! Toilets are dirty and toilet seats have been broken for weeks. Just the one * :-(

Terrible service in this pub, rude and unwelcoming staff Certain bar staff think it’s okay to serve young girls first regardless of how long they and you have been there. Toilets are disgusting, according to the cleaning schedule in the ladies it was last inspected 1st july according to the chart on the wall. Tonight you can smell urine as you get to the top of the stairs. Only come here because it’s convenient to where I live. I definitely wouldn’t come here or recommend otherwise.

Good reasonably priced meals and drinks. Barmaid Jackie kis always very helpful and looks after the old folk.

Took my family for dinner, which was OK, but certainly not worth the additional £85.00 I was fined for using the pub car park. The staff at the pub say that the carpark is nothing to do with them, but run by a third party and that there are a few signs around!

Good parking, spacious bars, very broad Menu at reasonable prices. We ate items from Sizzler Menus. All plates of food were generous portions and as described and served up piping hot. The staff were very efficient and really helpful to me in assisting the ordering while also being busy on bar duties. I would recommend the pub for food and should I be visiting the area again I will eat there again without any hesitation.

Unfortunately I understand the Chef was sacked the night before so service for food was 45 min for the main course then it would have been an Hour for dessert which we declined. The steak was overcooked for what we asked.

I booked a table but did not get the one I booked instead we were given a table tucked away in a dark area. We ordered ribs and pork belly. The ribs were fine but unable to eat the very overcooked pork. Very unhappy as we visit weekly.

Went for a midweek dinner, ridiculous wait for for food = over an hour for a couple of bog standard dishes that other pubs manage to serve in 20mins or so, I wouldn't mind waiting an hour in a busy resturant for food that tastes awesome - but this really wasn't steak arrived cold and greasy looking and pork dried and burnt.. I couldn't help but notice the constant stream of just eat drivers collecting orders though, seems to me this place needs to decide whether it wants to be a takeaway or a dine in because it sure can't cope with both.

It’s our local and we love it. The food was lovely and Jackie who is always helpful and cheerful made sure we had everything we needed. It’s comfortable and very reasonable, especially using the app.
