Was very disappointed to find that you are cashless. Please consider those who wish to use cash. Thankfully went to a nearby cafe that were more than happy to accept my cash.

The best cafe in Winchester by a long shot. Staff are so lovely, food is incredibly good value and the coffee….easily the best baristas around 👏👏👏. Cafe art is AMAZING! A cafe with a real heart and soul. 🙏🏼

Came with my family for afternoon meal, asked for sandwiches, but kitchen was closed, no salat options were available at 16:20. We asked for tea and two cups and we had been given 1 cup with tea bag inside and small milk to share. When we repeat the request, we been told that it is impossible. Cups was visible dirty, we paid for tea which we didn’t touch and went out. Never again!

Cycling themed cafe with a casual feel. Great poached eggs, so good we came for both our days in Winchester! Very nice coffee and great service/staff. Also seemed to be very children and dog friendly. Recommend as somewhere a bit different for breakfast.

I went into The South Downs Social today with my mum and some Rock Choir friends. I was performing nearby with Rock Choir and in between performing we headed to The South Downs Social for some lunch. As the Christmas Market in currently on in Winchester it was heaving and the cafe was rammed. But, we found a table without much waiting and looked at the menu to choose what to have. Oh my goodness, spoilt for choice. I chose a cheese and ham toastie, oh my goodness delicious, such good value, it was huge! We were told a 30 minute wait but it wasn't that long. Despite being so busy the team were amazing, calm, organised, friendly but professional and fantastic at what they can do under enormous pressure. Compliments to the chef, and the whole team. I must mention Ruby as well who served me at the till, she looked very familiar and didn't mind me asking her name when I realised she was one of my charges at a local nursery about 15 years ago! Made me feel old but it was lovely to see her again! I will definitely be going back, and definitely put this gem on your list to go to if visiting Winchester. Thank you all! One very happy customer! 🙂

OMG! I’m the first person to see that a live spider in my wife’s accompanying breakfast salad garnish might be considered by many to be a nod to the Halloween season, but really??? No apology from the kitchen when, after my wife discovered it and it suddenly burst in to life, it was returned there for a fresh meal! Seeing all the dogs also in there today with owners feeding at least one of them from the table, I can’t help feeling that this place is just unhygienic! We loved this cafe but sadly now looking for somewhere cleaner in Winchester!

1st time here as always looks busy so thought we would give it a try but wasn’t great! Food was ok but was overcharged by mistake, fair enough but then the wrong coffee came out (by this time we had already finished our food). Maybe we were just unlucky but make sure you check your bill…

Truly unique cafe and shop with a specialized selection of stylish cycling heritage gifts, t-shirts, some equipment, books and graphic artwork by The Handmade Cyclist, whose studio is upstairs. Coffee, cakes, sandwiches and service all excellent. They also hold cycling-related events, e.g. talks by famous riders and cycling authors, gatherings to watch big cycle events on TV, etc. But non-cyclists are very welcome and it's deservedly popular.

Fantastic cakes and helpful staff. I visited on a trip to Winchester with my wife and 12 year old. From the start, the staff were super friendly. The cakes looked amazing, we had a peanut butter and jelly cookie which was delicious. Really nice vibe with all the cycling related pix and things.

I found this when cycling with a friend who had been, it was a brilliant place to stop for a break and a coffee. I saw the food and have been back loads when I'm just in town. It's a brilliant place and I love going there. I highly recommend!!!

South Downs social is an ideal spot for a mid ride cafe stop. The cafe has both indoor and outdoor seating. For cyclists the perk is the indoor bike rack which puts your mind at ease while eating the quality selection of cakes and toasties that are available. The staff are also extremely friendly. Would highly recommend

Lovely bike themed cafe with a cycling related shop / gallery attached. Secure inside storage for bikes and a large terrace outside. Have drank and eaten here a few times and have had amazing sandwiches, cakes or bacon sarnie with thick bacon and sourdough. Coffee is top notch too.

We booked Sunday lunch with my sister and brother in law, we wanted to try the Chestnut Horse with the intention to book for Christmas. The starters were lovely but not to be said for the main course, my sister and I had the roast beef, the beef was cut thickly and the whole plate full was verging on cold, my sister order extra cauliflower cheese which arrived towards the end of her meal. We ordered puddings, my sisters came first, ice cream, and ours arrived half an hour later and was not fully as we ordered. The staff were very pleasant and apologetic. Such a shame for a lovely country pub.

Staff of young girls running this tesco Costa into the ground. It's filthy. Not to mention arguing with visibly autistic adult over whether I needed a straw after I had politely said I needed one for my 'sippy cup' (what?!) then shouting a very sarcastic thank you at me after being so rude and talking to me like an idiot. Rude young staff obviously their first employment. But the response off this kid?! Try doing that on the street I mean come on. You won't get along in the real world, kid. You need to hire some adults.
