Costa Coffee Express in Winchester

It's my favourite coffee , and the cafe is perfectly placed for us to sit and watch the passing show.

Staff of young girls running this tesco Costa into the ground. It's filthy. Not to mention arguing with visibly autistic adult over whether I needed a straw after I had politely said I needed one for my 'sippy cup' (what?!) then shouting a very sarcastic thank you at me after being so rude and talking to me like an idiot. Rude young staff obviously their first employment. But the response off this kid?! Try doing that on the street I mean come on. You won't get along in the real world, kid. You need to hire some adults.

Super hard-working team behind the counter on Saturday 22nd June. Efficient, friendly, and worked together to serve a long queue in no time! Thank you.

Popped in for a cuppa this afternoon ( sun 7th April) and wanted to feedback how lovely the two young ladies were. So friendly and helpful with product info (still can’t get my head round hot milkshakes not being a flavoured hot chocolate 🤣). A smile and friendly conversation really makes a difference and would make me come back again for a quiet Sunday cuppa.

Ordered large latte and chocolate twist. Polished off the twist :) latte was cold , went up to the counter and they apparently added hot milk but still Luke warm at best. So now sitting here drinking barely frothy milk 🤷🏻‍♂️

This cafe, inside Tesco, has become a regular place to relax for a few minutes before shopping. The young staff are friendly and provide a good service. Can recommend the chocolate twists. ☕🙂

Only 4 sandwiches left at 2pm and pain o chocolate served cold when I asked for hot. Usually a very nice visit here but must of had a busy day.

Staff are very friendly, the food and drink are standard for a Costa. You can see all of Tesco below which makes it a bit noisier but still able to have a chat.

After shopping in the store below, love climbing those stairs for a coffee/chocolate with cream 😋 cake or sausage roll, staff polite, helpful just all friendly. Thank you.....

It's convenient. And that's pretty much all it's got going for it. Two chaps who clearly didn't want to be there or were on a permanent gormless go slow, supported by one lady who carried the entire place - kudos to her. I could have driven to the nearest Costa Express, got my coffee, and driven back faster than I was served here.

The girl working was rude, her work was sloppy. Kept spilling half the ingrediants before they got any where near the cup she was meant to putting it in. Twice my girlfriend spoke to her and twice she was ignores.

Great coffee, and since the refurb the place looks amazing - great staff and great atmosphere. Can be a bit pricy though

Disgusting customer service. Popped in 17 minutes before closing to be told by guy that he had cleaned up and shut everything down already. When I queried why they weren't serving until closing time he said 'what are you going to do about it'. When I asked why he was being unpleasent to customers he said 'I Dont care, I handed my notice in today'. His colleague tried to look busy behind the counter and avoided looking at me. Then the guy stares me down and says in a very passive aggressive manner 'I dont know whats going to happen now'.. He wouldn't give me his name so we left. Costa haven't responded to a complaint through their system after 10 days so decided to leave a bad review.

came in simply to order a hot chocolate, was served by a lovely girl (i belive her name was christina) she was very friendly and prepared my drink in a speedy manner. even stopped to ask about milk options and wished me a happy new year. lovely service.

Massive thanks to the team on 26/11/22 at the Winnal location who stayed open a few extra minutes to serve a very cold and wet ambulance crew just about to start a night shift! We always come to this location when we get 5 mins before shift as the staff are always lovely! You’ve made us happy and caffeinated!

Just came in, used the toilet, that was the cleanest costa bathroom I have used in the last 10 years. Magdelena was working 10/10, coffee was lovely and had a friendly interaction.

shocking service Monday 7th November at 6.30am. Simpletons shift perhaps! Placed my order in the drive thru, asked for jam with my croissant and syrup with the porridge. Got neither, had to ask again when I had my order given to me. Also no offer of any sugar so had to ask (it is there job to ask what else I would like but I can deal with that). Then got given a bag and said the jam etc is in there. I of course drive off, get on the motorway to find they forgot syrup for porridge and then to add to that also forgot to stir the porridge like it says, whoever had done this just poured hot water in which sat at that top spilling out and I was left with a block of thick porridge I have had to chuck out. Absolutely shocking!!

Ordered a toastie for collect only to be told by the rude red head they don't have it and that I'd need to contact head office for a refund. Week later still no response. Useless.

Perfect to grab a cup of coffee from if you're on the M3. Just a slight little detour and you can have a coffee on the go. Use the Costa app to build them beans up to get free drinks!

No soap in the WC. The toilet looks like it has never been cleaned; quite an achievement given that it is inside a Tesco which has a whole aisle dedicated to toilet cleaning.

Every time I decide to give this Costa another chance, they fail me yet again. On this occasion they ran out of - wait for it - coffee. Yep. Costa COFFEE ran out of coffee. In the past I've been told that they've run out of countless menu items, takeaway cups and alternative milks, but this was new and by far the most ridiculous. Who's responsible for ordering at this branch? Clearly they can't do their job, but then given how disgusting the restaurant can be, how slow the service often is, how badly staff interact with customers, and how poor the coffee can be, I'd say they're in good company.

Went to Costa at big Tesco in Winchester and their toilets are disgusting! Which makes me wonder how clean the whole kitchen is . Surely a selection of cleaning product would be available in Tesco and would only need a small effort to keep things more hygienic. Won't go there again! Gross...

I come here a lot as I work with adults with learning disabilities and they like the Costa in Winchester however whenever we have been here the place is filthy. Today is Sunday and there was 2 young girls laughing and fooling around behind the counter whilst the eating place remained very dirty both tables and the floor .

Not very clean, latte glasses looked grubby, several tables were not cleared away when people left, not that busy, so no excuse.

Been treated differently today for some reason!! 2 ppl served came after me whichis ridiculous!! When I spoke with guy, he said coconut milk takes time... Been drinking the same drink for years from costa, always they prepare it on spot

The cafe was dirty not cleaned from previous day 😕 we retd the cutlery which was dirty nit very helpful I asked for extra hot latte is was Luke warm 😉 very disappointing

Usually I get great service and delicious coffee but I used the drive through and the chap at the window seemed quite miserable (hope he's okay!) But his mood seemed to spill over into how he made my coffee. Rather than the usual aerated latte, the milk seemed to just be hot and the coffee was very bitter, not the usual smooth taste I'm familiar with at Costa.

Under staff over worked, not Costa standards. Very poor quality drinks now being made no creamy silky milk. No hate against the new staff. I would suggest an area manager to do a site visit and offer more support and training

We often use this drive through and always have a good experience and good coffee, today we actually had time to sit in the sun and enjoy outside. The 2 young men at the till was a great to be served by. The what i presumed was a new member of staff was very polite and asked if we wantwd our vegie and meat toasties kept separate, not needed for us but i was pleased to here him ask. The batista was very cool calm and I control, gave a grate impression and made a delicious coffee.

Exceptional service, exceptional staff.

Use this drive thru most days but have noticed recently that if you order a Large coffee you only appear to be getting half a cup. Made the manager aware of this and she said that she would sort it out with the other barista’s went along a few days later and had exactly the same thing again. Also be aware they sometimes don’t put the lids on properly and you’ll end up pouring coffee all over you and your car seats.

Had a great afternoon meeting up with a mate, sat outside on a beautiful sunny day. Small outdoor area but a nice enough spot. COVID arrangements very good with excellent signage. Felt nice to be out again.

This Costa is a drive though which means they have shut the store entirely, you still may order on the app and collect in store but you cannot actually enter store past the door. This was a very easy process and allowed for extremely easy social distancing. In all, a great experience.

Use this costa drive thru often travelling to Winchester always had superb service. Big shout out to all working there though these unusual times always friendly and great service. Your new device on drive thru for collecting drinks what a fantastic idea think other drive thrus should follow suit and I hope it's a permanent fixture.

Quite frankly the 1 in tesco outclasses this store, simply put tesco version has normal costa coffee while these serve some kind of cash & carry coffee, didn't/couldn't drink it. Really needs a coffee no.1 round here these franchise outlets have the costa name but then they just outsource everything to make max profit! And here's 1 here.

I use Costa everyday but glad not this one! I know the difference between fresh and stale toast and good and bad customer service. The toast was stale as I have it everyday!, Normally without a problem. I ordered a replacement only it was worse! When it came it was without marmalade and when the replacement marmalade came it was literally thrown at the table by the long haired Barista this morning. Really !,, was everything ok ... No way

I use this drive thru most days on way to work but today Ordered a gingerbread chocolate which came with no gingerbread and the Americano was luke warm. Was not impressed.

Monday morning in need of a coffee. Unfortunately the cappuccino was badly made and coffee itself was very bitter. (Normally Costa decaffinated coffee is great.) I complained very politely about it to the barista (blonde young woman) but she was surly and rude - big attitude problem. Made me very embarrassed to have complained. She clearly doesn’t enjoy her job.

Usual standard coffee, nothing special. It’s the same standard as my local Costa coffee, nothing special to add.

Best Costa around! Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, never crowded, great location. I travel here from 20 miles away because it's far superior to my local ones in terms of noise level and volume of music. Much more relaxing, easy to chat or read. Costas everywhere please think: Review the music you play! Sometimes it feels like it's hammering your skull - incessant beat and high pitched warbling - relaxing it's not. Cafe Nero music much better any time of day!

Regular stop & meeting place with friends. Convenient location, friendly service, always good coffee. Nice new clean Costa. Not as crowded as some so lower noise levels which are very welcome. Music at 8am not loud or raucous which again is very welcome - Basingstoke Costa Leisure Park please take note! My only gripe is this - it's the 2nd of January - WHY IS THE AIR-CONDITIONING ON?? (Sitting here with 3 layers on and cold hands). Is it a ploy to chill the coffee so you have to buy more??

The girl that served us wasn't particular helpful, however her colleagues were very friendly and helpful.There was a time that the Costa chain served some really interesting rolls, baguettes and sandwiches alas no longer, its your standard fare that you can buy on any supermarket shelves - a pity really. The flat white was good though.

I am usually very pleased with the service at Costa shops, so I was very disappointed on my recent visit to the Costa at Winchester Services. I joined a queue with about 5 people ordering in front of me and it took roughly 20 minutes for me to reach the front of the queue. This wait was completely unnecessary as there were 4 members of staff working and three of the staff were wearing tops that said 'Manager'. All of the staff were very distracted, talking amongst themselves and working very slowly to make drinks. I don't mind waiting for service when staff are genuinely working hard and I would have been happier if a the member of staff at the till apologised for the delay. However, the staff members seemed to be oblivious to the queue which was extremely long. Two members of staff were openly flirting with each other and at no point did anyone seem in any rush, despite the building queue. While waiting, I also noticed one of the 'Managers' drop the lid of a plastic cup on the floor and then proceed to use it to make an iced coffee without washing it first. I was very disappointed and didn't feel that I was confident enough to speak to the manager at the time.

Strong Costa coffee fan so I was very pleased when the drive through came to Winchester. Often pop by, very quick and friendly service and never waiting too long - thank you!

Lovely staff. Yummy toast and pastries. Coffee up to the standard you expect from Costa. Clean and tidy. Plenty of seating inside and out.

This review relates to the new Costa drive through and cafe in the car park of Currys, Pets at Home etc at Winnall. Parked and sat inside for a quick coffee. Good coffee. I have got into the habit. Of particularly asking for my coffee to be hot as it does vary by Costa. All good and very convenient.

I'm went to this drive-thru and about 5 miles down the road went to drink it and there was only half a cup I tried calling several times and no response. I feel very emotionally distressed right now due to the lack off coffee.

Great drinks and fantastic staff!

The kid at the register was impatient and openly annoyed with us as we ordered. He then cleaned the espresso machine before making our Americano's, then he finished our two drinks and put them on the counter and walked away. We were a few feet away and unaware he had finished our drinks. We continued waiting and realized he left them on the counter and had just walked away without alerting us they were done. It is highly unpleasant to be treated so poorly when we were friendly and even asked him how his day was while we ordered. Everyone has a bad day. But you dont take it out on a customer. 3:30pm 16/02/17
