Unreconstructed old school boozer with good selection of beers. I had the Ossett Yorkshire Blonde which was great and Clattering oatmeal stout also tried, also well kept and with a complex maltiness that delivers a great finish. Facilities were clean with hot water and liquid soap. The large front bar goes back into some snugs and access to a small garden.

Favourite place for a guest beer in York, that lets children and grumpy older sisters in, always a decent choice of Yorkshire, and further afield, brews, usually a darker stout or porter, that I prefer. Another 15th century pub retaining its originality. Quite a small main bar with a couple of snugs and a tiny beer garden. Some great real ales. We remember that back in the 80's it was The Anglers Arms with blown glass fish on the front window sill. Reputedly the most haunted pub with 5 ghosts. Before starting an eight days holiday in Prague my twin brother Stephen and I decided to have a weeks holiday in the famous Roman walled city of York visiting the great pubs this city has to offer and visiting the wonderful site's ,at the top of our list of pubs to visit was The Snickleway Inn ,not only one of the oldest pubs in York but also the most haunted with at least five resident ghosts propping up the bar. A pub dating from the 15th century the interior is superb ,a cramped interior with an ancient looking serving bar ,there's a couple of snug rooms which are very cosy and dispite it's relatively small size there's plenty of seating options spread throughout their pub both inside and outside in their cute little beer garden,it's just a great pub to unwind in. We were here on a Thursday afternoon ,we were greeted warmly by the barman ,a quick study of their real ale selection and we both opted to have pale ale's from Bradfield Brewery ,these were served in excellent condition ,we just kicked back and took in the great pub we were in. My pale ale was really good ,a crisp, well balanced pale ale ,hoppy ,a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a slight bitter finish to it,it was just so good being in such a great pub and enjoying a quality pale ale. We both really enjoyed our pale ale's in here ,only stayed for the one each before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. The Snickleway Inn is easy to locate along Goodramgate. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, open from midday. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

The Snickleway Inn is an unbelievable pub with a superb range of beers and is one of my favourite pubs in York. The Snickleway Inn is an ancient pub and is housed in a superb 15th century building in Goodramgate where there are some superb pubs and is reputably one of the most haunted pubs in York and any other city you'd visit. With many original fixtures and features with oak beams with woodwork immaculately kept this is a very haunted pub with at least five resident ghosts and according to Thevlate Derek Acorah the most haunted Inn in York. The Snickleway Inn has had a few names over the years such as the House of Tudor and then it was called the Angler's Arm's and then it changed it's name to the Snickleway Inn in 1994. I love visiting this pub as its a joy to go to one of the only 15th century galleried inn's in York and is very atmospheric. When we visited we had already been to a few of the historic pubs on Goodramgate and went in here for a few pints. When here we sat in the main bar area were the Angler's Arm's name is displayed over the bar area. When here we ordered a few cask ales from the Bradfield brewery which where superb and well priced. The Snickleway Inn is a superb pub and not to be missed as it's very historic and was one of the highlights on our trip to York.(This is my second review of the Snickleway Inn). Opening Hours. Monday-Thursday-12.00-23.00. Friday-Saturday-12.00-00.00. Sunday-12.00-00.00.

Without a shadow of a doubt one of the best pubs in York is The Snickleway Inn ,a fab pub with a great history. Housed in a 15th century building ,the interior is superb ,nice decor and furnishings, a cool looking serving bar, little snug rooms ,many original features, above the bar is a pub name The Angler's Arms ,this alludes to the previous name of this pub ,it was also once called The House Of Tudor Pub ,its one of York's most haunted pubs with at least five resident ghosts ,its just one awesome pub. We were here on a Tuesday afternoon, we ordered a Theakston Brewery " best bitter " , these were served in excellent condition, we just kicked back and took in the great pub we were in. My bitter was exceptional, a smooth, cold bitter ,a malty finish, very refreshing on a hot afternoon, a totally tasty brew. We both really enjoyed our bitters in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to The Snickleway Pub we had a very positive experience. The Snickleway Pub is easy to locate along Goodramgate. Opening hours are; Monday to Wednesday, Midday till 11pm. Thursday to Saturday, Midday till Midnight. Sunday, Midday till 11pm. The Snickleway Inn is a great pub that on any holiday I take to this most beautiful of city's I always make a point of visiting. This is one of York's best pubs ,the interior is awesome, multi roomed with great decor and furnishings including a superb looking serving bar. This is a pub of great age and as you wood expect from a pub of this age its haunted by lots of ghosts ,its been described as one of the top 100 haunted pubs in England, it's most famous ghost is Marmaduke Buckle,a ghost described as a ghost of great age and intelligence but surrounded by evil, its often seen at the top window ,theres also a ghost in the cellar that messes around the draught pressure taps that supply the beers to the bar area. My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Saturday afternoon, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of staff, after a quick study of the real ales on offer my brother and I opted to have Purity Brewing Co " amber pale ale " these were served in excellent condition, we just kicked back, chilled out and took in the great pub we were in. My pale ale was outstanding, a crisp and well balanced pale ale with a big hit of hops ,very tasty ,very easy to drink,a pale ale style I really enjoy. As we were pub hopping around this part of York we only stayed for the one ale each before we moved on and as on every other visit to The Snickleway we had a great time. The Snickleway Inn is easy to locate along Goodmangate ,a street and area teeming with pubs, bars and restaurants. Opening hours are; Monday to Thursday, Midday till 11pm.

This pub is oozing with ancient charm and almost like an urban folk museum inside, It has ambience and bonhomie, regular live music and a regular passing trade, situated as it is half way along a major city thoroughfare. Its main drawback is that it can quickly become overcrowded and cramped, another is that although the acts there can be very good there is no raised stage or dais so they are squeezed in a corner of the bar where visibility is far from ideal. Beer and lager are good and the staff friendly. At weekends it can suffer from the ravages of the pub crawlers but repays an interested speculative visit. Do try it.

Charlotte made my son's 21st vegas inspired birthday cake along with cupcakes. I can not express enough how accommodating and very talented Charlotte is! The cake most definitely had the wow factor with numerous comments from everyone. Charlotte even made gluten free cupcakes for me as she knows I'm coeliac . Aswell as looking amazing the cake tasted divine! Thank you so much Charlotte x
