Stopped here for Pain au raisin and a coffee and was the best one I’ve ever had! Insanely good! Lovely coffee and service too. Well worth a visit.

Positives ?So many, The cheese and onion pasty was by far the best I have eaten. Staff extremely friendly. Only negative was no public loo. But thats wasnt a huge problem as there are ones you can use nearby

Best trad Cornish pasty I’ve had. My usual order of flat white, trad Cornish pasty and apple rhubarb and custard pasty I highly recommend. Slowly working my way through the menu and have yet to be disappointed. I visit every Saturday without fail. Thanks to all the staff that make it so friendly and enjoyable to come and have a nice breakfast Please please please bring back the steak and Stilton!

Fell in love with the ladies who works there plus the fruit scones with clotted cream. It had a nice atmosphere for an afternoon break with tea and cream scones. My family loved the pasties.

Fantastic bakery, one of our favorites! Served this evening by a wonderful lady who recommended one of the salted caramel croissant roll. Absolutely delicious! Just had it now with a cuppa, also got a cheese twist for our pooch which as you can imagine, has gone in one! Thank you for a lovely, warm service, we'll be back soon :)🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Small bakery (limited seating) but great food, especially the scones

Food and drinks were average. But having no toilets in a sit-down cafe is a joke. Really poor.

Lovely little bakery, the food all looks great so it’s hard to choose! We just had a sausage roll and Cornish pasty this time which were both delicious and the kids approved too. Very friendly staff who offered me a bag and serviettes as they could see I had my hands full!

Hands down the BEST almond/cherry croissant and cheese scone ever. Absolutely delicious!

tables need a little more cleaning. Discounted pastries after 4:30pm. Don’t recommend their Pastel de nata. Carrot cake is good. Cornish pastries and scones are ok.

Felling a bit peckish, you can't go wrong with this delightful bakery.. Selection of pastries plentiful, lovely coffee. We enjoyed that much we had to return and take pastries home. Pretty miserable experience, staff could not be more disinterested if they tried, not even knowing what a vegetarian steak was, barely a hello. Expensive for a depressing experience, food was mediocre to be honest, many others available in York, my advice skip this establishment.

Popped in for tea and coffee. Good selection of sweet and savoury. No toilet's. Every cafe should have their own toilet. Once you've ordered your drink you're in the position of leaving it if you need the loo.

Pasties are amazing! The steak and stilton is easily the best I've had - way better than those I've tried in Cornwall. Strong Stilton flavour throughout. First class!

I came into this place on Monday morning and met Lottie who was really lovely and helpful with my needs, she was so warm and was a delight to be served by her! She offered top ups of water and some local information which was really handy too! Couldn't recommend this place enough! The pastries are tasty too which goes without saying!

I’ve been coming here every morning since early November for my coffee. I cannot stress enough how welcoming all the staff are. I love our little chats. The coffee is incredible and love their loyalty card too. You must try their Cornish pudding, it’s to die for!!!! Service is so quick too as they are card payments only so transactions are so convenient. Love this place

My friend and I wanted just a light bite, so thought we try the Cornish Bakery. Very few tables, no toilet, and somewhat cramped. We found a table and I went to the counter and order 2 Cornish pasties and drinks. As I went to pay I was presented with a card machine, I said I was paying by CASH, to which I was told it was not accepted!! I explained that this is STILL legal tender, and was told they haven't accepted cash for over 4 years!! I paid by card. I am not impressed by many eateries now just taking card payments as this is forcing the public to use their system. All I can say is I wish I was making a large order then cancelled because of their card payment policy. I hope many will read this and insist on paying by CASH. I maybe wrong here but when did we become dictated to by shops!! Thought we were a Democracy !! The food was ok , nothing to write home about! Oh couldn't see a notice about card only, if I had I wouldn't have gone there.

Beautiful fresh food! I highly recommend the pasties and homemade fruit scones! The que was worth the wait! Staff was friendly and the shop was clean. Few tables inside and out. Only down side is that there aren't any toilets inside.

This shop was awesome they absolutely nailed the cheese n mustard scones myself and my wife came back everyday of our 3 day stay the staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable they couldn’t have helped more. Amazing food n Lottie was brilliant front of house server I can honestly say this is the reason for us to come back to York thanks to all staff hope more people get to experience your great products n shop

Small bakery with traditional pastries. We ate puff pastry stuffed with meat and potatoes. Very delicious! Only minus is that they have small amonut of tables, 4 on the terrace and 2 or 3 inside.

Coffee from this bakery is absolutely delicious. I have said this previously it is “the best” and served by friendly and polite staff. Kate the manager makes each visit memorable. The shop is always clean with plenty of pastries and pasties. It is well worth a visit

'Lena' and 'Kate' are always very friendly and polite, they go out of their way to be helpful which I feel should be highlighted to the area manager - the fruit scones and cheese scones are delicious (just like homemade). Would highly recommend.

Very friendly staff, Kate was cheerful and patient with us as we picked out our pastries. She is hardworking, working alone in the early morning preparing these delicious food. It was so good we were here every morning for breakfast. We loved the pasties, pastelles, chocolate torsadas, and many others that we tried during our time here in York.

We really enjoyed our experience here today. Kate was very helpful in choosing lunch items and Dvising us where to go around the city. Food was delicious. Overall a 5*

I love popping in for the end of day sale and have done so frequently since living in York. The staff are always very friendly and helpful and it's great feeling to help reduce food waste but also get tasty pastries for a much lower price. I've had the croissants, pain au chocolats, pains aux raisins, torsades, pastéis de nata and a few other things - all delicious. The pasties are fab too and the curry one has such a nice filling! I usually buy several items when I come and then pep them up in the oven at home over the next couple of days, particularly if I've got people visiting. Would definitely recommend :)

On a visit to York we were looking for somewhere to stop and have a snack and a coffee and came across The Cornish Bakery, tucked between two other shops in the city centre. We ordered two sausage rolls and two cappuccinos and said we would sit at a table outside. We were thanked for our order, told to sit at the table and it would be brought out to us. And a few minutes later the coffee and sausage rolls were delivered. Both were delicious, especially as we had not expected the sausage rolls to be hot. It was very pleasant sitting outside people watching in the sunshine, even though it was a busy day and there were lots of people walking about. We would recommend it.

Had a great lunch, we had the tradition pasties were hot and delicious. I had the iced latte we the best I have eva had. Dog's welcome and made a fuss of. Staff really friendly and helpful. Lena recommended the fruit scone with real cornish clotted cream. You really do feel like you in Cornwall. Definitely recommended this place.

Every-time I visit York, I go here for coffee as it beats all others by a mile. Combine this with attentive and polite staff and it is a perfect combination. I encourage anyone to go try it out. The pasties are also amazing
