Great place to come in for a drink, cocktails are a great offer being 2 for 1 all day every day. Inside was clean and welcoming and the music played was good.

Fantastic service from Alicia and Tom. We had a gifted visit which we had problems with and they went out of their way to get sorted for us. The food was as excellent as the service. We also drop in when we are visiting York

Came into S&L for a student bottomless brunch tonight - had an absolutely great time, service was amazing and food was food value too. Our server Petra was so so lovely! She went above and beyond even making me a custom mocktail :))) Would definitely recommend!!

The bottomless brunch was fab! Food was tasty and we were never low on drinks, our waiter was so attentive (thank you Kaydon!) All in all it was fab and we had the best time!

Becca was an absolutely amazing server! She was so attentive and her service skills were amazing, she was checking up on us and offering drinks at a perfect rate given we were at a bottomless brunch. The food was also amazing and the atmosphere right next to the river in York was amazing! Could not recommend enough and Becca thank you for such an amazing experience and service! :)

The staff were lovely here and very friendly at such a busy time of year. Nice atmosphere but the only complaint I have is the desserts sorry. We had 3 of the them. The Xmas pudding was a very small portion not very tasty and had cornflakes sprinkled over it. That puzzled us, was random and did not do much for the palette. When you order Xmas pudding you want to see a chunky portion with custard or cream. Apart from this we enjoyed our visit and like I said before staff were lovely.

Slug and Lettuce York Riverside is in a prime location, beautiful view of the river, great atmosphere, friendly staff. What more could you ask for..... well, great drinks, which they also came through on. Would definitely recommend if you are visiting York and want to stop for a break and a re-charge.

Quite possibly the most disgusting toilets known to mankind, would it hurt to run a mop over the floor every now and then so we don't have to don our armbands to swim through a literal pool of pi** taking up the entire floor? I see why there is 1 single carpeted area in the place, right outside the loo to soak up the pi** and stop it spreading too far throughout this food establishment. Had the bottomless brunch with a work party, took an hour to receive our first drinks! Music is far too loud in the dining area for an enjoyable experience. Food was some of the worst I've eaten anywhere, ever. Most of the staff were trying their hardest but there wasn't enough of them for such a large place. Don't go here, if you do then take a boat for the loo.

Worst bottomless brunch I've been too. Our table was booked for 4.45pm. We arrived and was given a glass of prosseco when seated and we ordered our first drink. Three of the drinks were sent back, they had zero alcohol and tasted like water. It's was then 5.30 before they came to take food order and another round of drinks. I ordered the chicken fajita pasta and was told they had sold out, bearing in mind that brunch menu only started at 5pm. I then ordered the smothered chicken grilled. It came and the chicken was dry and over cooked. Won't book again.

Natalie made my birthday so special. She made the service exceptional! Best waitress!!! Drinks came often and we didn’t have to wait around and ask for more, she was always there to ask if we needed anything else/ more drinks. Bloody fantastic!

ROCCO is the guy guys! he is the best and i don’t care what you are paying him but i think it should be more! raise his wage because he’s an absolute legend and sexbomdbd he knows what he’s doing with them eyes!! taken or not i’ll take him whenever!!! i have him a cent tip bless i didnt know how to put a pound as a tip so he gets a cent! indeed he was appreciateveice but may jesus and god be with him if not i’ll be with him!

Nice setting in york beer was nice but the price was enough to bring a tear to your eye,if you was an alcoholic you would need a bloody good pay packet to drink here lol

Had an amazing time celebrating my girlfriend’s birthday! The food was amazing but the best part was the service we received. Our server was Kirstin, she looked after us really well and also joined in with our jokes we were having with the guests. Made us all laugh so much all in all she was just amazing!

Came for bottomless brunch Kirstin was the best. She served us drinks quickly and was honestly our the highlight of our night. She talked to us made us feel like slug was our home. She made us feel safe. If anyone comes to slug and lettuce riverside I hope you get Kirstin cause she was the best host and made our night the best. She got straight on with us and we wouldn’t have wanted anyone else p

Went for a hen night booked bottomless brunch . Had 3 drinks in the time we were there as the service was so slow . Food was dry with hot sauce poured on top didn't say anything on the menu about it being spicy . About 13 of us in total .

Unfortunately this was the worst bottomless brunch I’ve been to and I have tried a few! There was 13 of us which I appreciate is a big party to cater for however I think 1 glass of Prosecco and 1 cocktail in the first hour we were there was unacceptable. We then asked for a couple of bottles of Prosecco for the table so we had drinks while we waited for cocktails we were told no and that they would pour us some and give us a glass each. The food was not good, 3 meals were sent back due to being cold and undercooked and most of the party left theirs. Overall it was a huge let down, i definitely would not recommend this bottomless brunch to anyone.
