A fantastic little local with a friendly crowd and a landlord who keeps his beer very well. They also put on very good beer festivals.

Making my first ever visit here. Madge spotted it in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide. Took about 20 minutes to walk here from the city centre. A lovely two room community pub with a great real ale selection. Eight beers to chose from on our visit. Had a pint of Anthology Best Bitter. Very good. Well worth finding. Large rear outside patio.

Food is limited, but the pork pies are amazing, friendly pub with sports on tv a genuinely great afternoon Silver sword beer is one to try.

Absolutely loved The Slip Inn in York! The atmosphere was fantastic – lively and welcoming, with live rugby on, which added to the vibe. The beer lineup was top-notch, with everything served perfectly. The staff and fellow patrons were incredibly friendly, making it feel like a home away from home. Can’t wait to return next time I’m in the city. Highly recommend!

The slip Inn is a cosy traditional two roomed Victorian pub. There is a fantastic range of beers, larger and craft ales, including seven hand pulled cask conditioned real ales. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. There is a dart board, a nice enclosed beer garden, and the pub is regularly featured in the camra good beer guide. For real ale fans, a visit to this dog friendly pub is highly recommended.

Seguimos la recomendación de la guía CAMRA Good Beer para visitar aquí y no nos decepcionó. El interior está bien decorado y, aunque abierto, se divide en dos áreas + un jardín de cerveza en el exterior. Probamos 4 cervezas y todas estaban bien - guardado y sabroso - un saludo especial a los 5. ¡2% de IPA de Media Luna, lo cual fue fantástico!

Super friendly staff, more spacious than it looks on the outside. Very interesting historical info about the neighborhood on the wall in the front room. Glad we overcame a bit of hesitation about heading into a locals bar!

The Slip Inn is a nice traditional independent community local situated in the Clementhorpe area of York. Built in 1840 it is the last remaining building of what was once the Clementhorpe Shipyard, a beautiful stained glass window on the inner door depicts this. It's a fairly open plan pub with spacious front and back room and a couple of little cosy side spaces. It has a plain and functional appearance but the most important aspect is the great range of 8 cask ales, all perfectly served and at a good price. They have a large courtyard to the rear which is often used to host beer festivals and although the toilets are in an outbuilding they were very well kept. If you're after a good old pub with plenty of quality beer, pub games and a friendly local feel then it's well worth venturing out of York's City Centre to visit the Slip.

Such a fun pub tucked into a quiet neighborhood. Watched a Wales vs Poland EURO qualifier in a Welsh broadcast, which was wild, while enjoying a pint of Boltmaker. Warm, friendly place and a great barkeeper.

A delightfully peaceful escape from the insanity of York's Christmas Market on a chilly December afternoon so close to the flooded River Ouse. Good selection of real ales; not so cheap as Sam Smith's, but at least you're allowed to check a phone. £4.20 for a pint of Timothy Taylor's.

Lovely pub about 5 mins from rowntree caravan park, with live sports and good priced beer etc. The beer garden is nice at the back and is dog friendly

Delightful,airy "proper" pub w good range of beers, ciders and other drinks, quirky sitting areas (incl a rear yard), many charming features and ....... a proper barista. Doesn't serve food (because it is a proper pub not a kaffy) but there are plenty of eating places nearby. Paired w another delightful pXk (pub not kaffy) ..... the Swan 100yds away.

Wonderful somewhat off the beaten track pub owned by the same people as the Swan (I hear). They usually have a good selection of cask and keg beers. Nice set up with several seating areas and a nice garden. A real pleasure to visit.

We call in whenever we are staying at Rowntree park. It never let's us down. A proper pub selling a great selection of well kept ale's. If you want fancy overpriced poor quality beers, go into the yuppie bars in the city.

We visited on the day after the landlord had sadly passed away, and were quite surprised that the pub was open. It's a lovely pub and the beers were well kept and good range. We like community run pubs and support them all we can rather than the big pub Co's. Hope to return under happier times and wish them well.

People waiting outside for opening time is always a good sign. Smashing pub with some excellent ales. The TT Boltmaker was easily the best pint I had in three days in York, perfect condition and perfect temperature. It was like wine.

The Slip inn on Clementhorpe in York is one of the many pubs and bar's we visited on a six day city break in York.We had just been to the Swan which is a superb pub and just before we went back to the Wetherspoons pub on our hotel we went in here for a few cask ales.This is a superb pub with a brilliant interior with many interesting fixtures and features and a superb outside terrace where there toilets are situated.A great pub that look's like it has recently had a make-over.This is a pub that supports traditional pub games such as dominoes/darts and cribbage and when we where here there where people in here playing dominoes.When we visited here it was rather busy as the African nation semi-finals were on and there was a dominoes game on.When here we had a few glasses of Landlord ale from the Timothy Taylor's brewery served in fine condition and well priced.This is a superb pub and easy to find from Bishopthorpe road shops bus stop its only a short walk.(This is my first review of the Slip inn).Opening Hours.Monday-Wednesday-14.00-22.30.Thursday-14.00-23.00.Friday-Saturday-12.00-00.00.Sunday-12.00-22.30.Nearest Bus Stop.
