We' ve been at York , served by Ali. Finally a very tasty dessert ( cheese cake - sapphron/ chocolate ) which does not taste like the usual pastry at big bar chain. Service was top notch and at level of whag we did eat today. Strongly recommend. Better one priper dessert once in a while than dozens of daily anonymous food. Best Mn

Nice chilled vibe. Decor nice and welcoming. Our server was Ali who was lovely. We had the best desserts we’ve ever had. My partner had the caramel monkey bread which was out of this world ! I had banoffee waffle which was again lovely the ice cream is to die for. You won’t be disappointed

Ali did a fantastic job. We loved our experience. The only thing that we could say to make better is the bathrooms needs to be cleaned more but overall we will come back again.

We went in for takeout. Had a brownie & a cheesecake. The food was lovely, service was good but personally think it's over priced, nearly £10 for a tiny piece of cheesecake is high.

Unfortunately the deserts aren't what they advertise, they buy supermarket ready made deserts and warm them up! Like ready made chocolate brownie pieces and cinnamon swirls rather than fresh baked dough bread. The service was excellent and the server was polite and helpful. The place is let down by the food.

I have been to this Heavenly Desserts branch, York, several times with each time being very busy. However, this time it was surprisingly virtually empty. My Grandson and I were met by the chef and shown to our table with menus to pore over. Tempting though all the desserts were I chose smoked salmon on smashed avocado and sourdough. My Grandson, on the other hand went for hot cookie dough and ice-cream. We both tucked in, each salivating with every bite! Both dishes were absolutely delicious and to be recommended. Service was unobtrusive but attentive and I would recommend coming here.

Ali was lovely!! Food a bit sweet but that’s the point!

Only came for an evening milkshake and coffee but we did enjoy them and got given water for the table without asking! The atmosphere was a little off as we had drunken guys next to us who were incredibly loud which altered the experience. Would go back just to see if the day is any better as I have previously enjoyed my experience here and would’ve been a lot better without the guys next to us!

We went here today for mothers day, they had a special mothers eat free offer on. But only on selected items ( this part is not shown on the offer) We were seated and eventually someone came to take our order. We ordered 3 smoothies and 3 deserts. Yet again we waited, after ages the deserts arrived but no drinks. I told the waiter we had ordered the drinks, he said I will go and get them for you. Omg I have never eaten my food before the drinks arrived until today. The service was dreadful (it wasn't that busy) to top it off we paid the bill to find the free mothers offer hadn't been taken off! Food was OK but the service was rubbish. Won't be coming back in a rush!

First time visiting. Joshua the server was very thorough and excellent with my five year old daughter. Food was great and delivered in good time. Kids meal was great value for money.

OK, so we ate here as a last minute thing after having arrived back in York after a weekend away and remembered the Restaurant week was on. Even with the discount we came out feeling short changed, definitely not worth the money full price. Slow service, amendments to the order not fulfilled and average food. Perfectly edible but no wow factor. The worst thing was the cleanliness. The waiter had a black apron on that certainly was not fresh on that morning and it was covered in hand wipes and dirt. We were there at 11am and the chairs and floor were covered in crumbs and dropped bits of food, the tables had been wiped but it doesn't appear any other cleaning had been done since the day before. I wish we had just turned tails and walked out to be honest.

We ordered via deliveroo and chose the monkey bread. What arrived was not monkey bread and not what is in the picture. So we called the restaurant, and a member of staff proceeded to yell at us and repeatedly called the item a cinnamon swirl and tried to gaslight us into thinking it was the item we ordered and what is pictured. Either the picture needs to be updated or the name of the item should be changed as it's always prepared that way according to this staff member. (He said he made the order himself.) Never have we ever been yelled at like that as a paying customer. The food is delicious and we're sad to not be visiting anymore. As someone who also works in hospitality, this is miles below the standard they should be presenting towards guests and if we had been there in person, I'm sure we would not have been screamed at like this.

I don't like to write negative reviews, but management should know, and customers should be warned. I came here with my family 2 years ago and loved the experience. I was excited to come back. However, this was by far the most disappointing experience of our recent trip. The restaurant was dirty. The service was slow and distracted. Our order was wrong. The food was not good and overpriced. Not a single person in our party of 8 enjoyed their dessert. I personally ordered the monkey bread special that had its own page on the menu. It looked nothing like the photo. Instead of being tall, fluffy, and mealt-in-your-mouth, it better resembled a hard, flat, burnt danish. It's as if this team has given up. I truly hope they can turn this place around because the potential is huge.

I went in with my mum because I had a lovely experience last time and recommended that we should go since the York Restaurant Week was on and a coupon for 2 desserts and 2 drinks for £15pp was available to use. Once we walked in the waiter only said hello and did not even ask how many people were needed to be seated so we had to say that we needed a table for two. It felt very awkward as even then he didn’t even show us properly where we could sit so we had to just follow him and then he gave us menus and didn’t even ask whether we were ordering on the app or not. We asked the waiter about the coupon and it seemed like he didn’t even know about the coupons available to use for the couple of weeks. After finally getting to the checkout the coupon didn’t work on the app so we had to had to order with the waiter which was again an awkward process. After waiting for about 25 minutes the desserts were finally served. The portions were a lot smaller than last time I visited and the brownies I had were almost cold. The food was delicious but practically eaten in a few spoonfuls. After we finished the server came without a tray and left a glass on the table without even coming back for it even though there were only us and another table in there. When we went to pay the code wouldn’t work again so we ended up not enjoying our time and wasting more money than we were meant to. Overall, we won’t be coming in again, now we know the portion sizes. Edited 19/3/25 Me and my mum went for the complimentary dessert and it was such a better experience. The waiter, Ali, was very pleasant and friendly and made sure we had the best experience. The food was delicious and hot this time and was served quickly. It’s nice to see how important the restaurant’s relationship is with their customers and how quickly they will help you to forget the negative experience you might’ve had the first time. Overall, the whole experience was very enjoyable and we will definitely be returning again sometime.

We landed on this place while looking for a place for brunch. It has lots of savoury and sweet options so we went in and we were really pleased. We were served by Ali, who was very helpful and polite. Loved the croffle and my partner loved the French toast. It was a bit quiet though, a bit of background music can do no wrong :)

I came in on my birthday for a little treat. It happily coincided with restaurant week so I got my dessert for £5. I was seated quickly, but the service felt a little rushed. I chose the Bueno crunch croffle which was AMAZING. i had wanted to try a croffle for the longest time and I was not disappointed. Perfectly buttery and crispy. Loaded with sauce and amaretti pieces. The contrast of the cold ice cream and the warm croffle was perfect.
