Slow and unorganised service. Order was partially wrong. Food was decent but expensive for the the portion size. We both got cookie doughs that came with a tiny scoop of ice. I won’t be going back.

We had a variety of waffles and coffee. Their waffles are beyond delicious 😋 and a must. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for an amazing dessert experience

No music or atmosphere whatsoever, never seen staff more disappointed by having customers. It's the 3rd time I have tried this place and its always disappointing. Food comes in instalments, by the time my Mom had her food everyone else was almost finished. It's dirty with cobwebs hanging from the light fittings and its not worth the money. AVOID

⭐☆☆☆☆ Awful Service & No Interest in Customers Went into Heavenly Desserts for a takeaway and was completely ignored by the staff. After looking at the menu, we stood waiting to order, only for the staff to start chatting among themselves just a metre away from us, showing zero interest in serving us. No acknowledgment, no attempt at customer service—just a complete lack of care. After waiting with no engagement, we left. Absolutely terrible experience. If they can’t be bothered to serve customers, we’ll take our money elsewhere. Avoid.

Lives up to it's name, Ali did a great job serving us, especially given he was on his own and how busy it was. Delicious.

We held a Univeristy society event here for Valentine’s Day & it was wonderful - amazing organisation from the heavenlys staff, great service and they were so so accommodating. special thanks to Nisa for serving us & being so friendly!

Last year was amazing. This year was uhm... We were in the middle of the week. We sat down at the table & got the menu. We waited a very long time (too long) for someone to take our order. We were the only customers in the restaurant at that time. When it came, we got a partially different order. The waiter forgot about half of what we ordered. Wanted to serve it, when we wanted to pay & leave. He said that you had changed the recipe of1 of it - photo.

Really poor service. Went in 2022 and it was great experience. Now in 2025 the service is very poor. We were lucky to get drinks and food on time -ish. But so many people walked out as they had no orders taken, never got their drinks or never got their meals. Even after reminding the staff.

We went here as a reward for a tough month. The food was good overall, but the service was stellar. Nisa - our server - was very friendly, welcoming, attentive, and made the whole experience that much sweeter! 4* for the food as the mains are lackluster but the desserts are delicious. The mains are creative, it's just the ingredient quality and the cooking that lets them down - very basic. Desserts are very much the specialty (as the name suggests). 5* for service and atmosphere, Nisa was fantastic and we hope to see her again next time✨

Got served by Nisa, who was lovely and smiley, excellent service and wonderful food. All in all extremely pleased and will come again.

Our experience was really disappointing. While the atmosphere was quiet, the service was pretty slow and we waited a long time to be seated and for our order to be taken. Our food arrived before our drinks, but we had no cutlery, so we had to wait while our meals went cold. One of the dishes was undercooked and inedible, and two of the meals we ordered never arrived. The coffee was mostly milk, and many of the plates were badly chipped. The food that did arrive wasn’t great and in the end we had to cancel the missing meals and leave because it took so long. When the bill arrived, it was incorrect and included several items we neither ordered nor received. Although we didnt eat or drink most of what was served, we paid part of the bill out of courtesy, but we left feeling overcharged and disappointed. Based on this experience I wouldn’t return.

I usually go to Heavenly Desserts and have always had great service. But there’s one staff member, Nisa, —unfortunately, I’ve had the displeasure of being served by her twice—who is just so rude and grumpy. She literally throws the menu on my table and acts like she’s the one paying me to be there. Does the company not provide training for its staff???

Ordered last night our favourite tiramisu milk cake. The tiramisu is fab, but the milk syrup is sour, probably is spoil. Hopefully next time they should check the expiration date.

Joshua was great and provided us with great costumer service. Everything he brought us was perfect and in a timely manner. However we realised the he was working solo which is disgraceful to the company, no matter what they should have provided support to this excellent worker, could have been 1 star easily because of that.

We were looking for a quiet place to have coffee and found this beautiful place, with a unique charm, very cozy and with a great variety of food, desserts, coffees and drinks, I was surprised how delicious and well presented everything was ideal for sharing with family ... recommended.

I ordered the monkey bread as it looked and sounded lovely but the bottom of it was burnt and it was stuck to the paper so ended up looking like a car crash. Soggy and not heavenly at all

Unfortunately our first experience was a bad one. All the free tables were full of dirty plates and cups, we had to wait 15 minutes to be seated, then 25 minutes wait to have our order taken. When we were eating our tapas deserts with our fingers we then realised that there was cutlery available! None was set at the table, none was brought with the food and none was offered. The tapas fudge cake pieces are very very sickly. A bit of a sad experience really having gone from a lovely restaurant meal elsewhere and thought we we're treating ourselves to a special desert. Nice coffee as a positive finish.

I was out with a friend who has a tic disorder, and as anyone in her situation knows, dining in public can sometimes feel a bit daunting. From the moment we were seated, Ahmed’s kindness and professionalism immediately put us at ease. When my friend’s tic became noticeable, Ahmed didn’t miss a beat—he handled it with such grace and understanding. Rather than drawing attention or laughing like most people do, he subtly adjusted his interactions to make her feel comfortable, offering reassuring smiles and a sense of normalcy that meant the world to us. Beyond that, Ahmed was everywhere, ensuring we had everything we needed while being respectful of our space. He anticipated small things—salt and pepper here, an extra napkin there—that truly made us feel cared for. His empathy and awareness showed us he wasn’t just doing a job; he genuinely cared about our experience. Ahmed turned what could have been an uncomfortable moment into one of kindness and connection. His thoughtfulness and professionalism are rare, and I can’t recommend him enough. Thank you, Ahmed, for going above and beyond and we will definitely be back.

The sugar hit I’ve been craving all Christmas 😍 milkshakes are amazing and the signature monkey bread dessert was so good, like apple pie meets cinnamon roll with a caramel topping!

We got to change to the seat that we preferred. Our waiter (Duy?) was very friendly. Felt a little rushed despite the restaurant being empty. Desserts are very highly priced but great quality.

Have visited a few times when visiting York. Tried to order via the website and showed items sold out but the friendly staff assured us they were not so we ordered with them. Really enjoyed our choices : Spec Apple Crumble, 2 different sundaes and the Belgian bun with ice cream.

Joshua gave us very lovely service. He was very friendly, approachable and was really understanding about how long we spent just looking at the menu. He even made a few jokes with us which was really nice. I find it lovely that we were able to converse like friends, rather than customer/waiter. I will definitely come again, not just for the absolutely delicious food (the waffle I just had was life changing), but also for the warm and welcoming service. Joshua is definitely somebody to look out for with whatever you need. Will definitely come again! 👍😌

Great food as always, we always make a trip here when we come to York. Luiza was very friendly and the service was quick and with a smile.

Me and my friend where looking forwards to some amazing deserts as this is their specialty. Whilst they where not unpleasant they where for us a bit average for the prices. And you can tell that some of it is pre prepped and not freshly made. In particular for us was the crepes ( which in my opinion are pancakes, crepes are quite thin as I make these myself at home) these where my fried who had them on the rubbery side. I have had a lot better deserts in nice restaurants for the prices charged here. Staff where friendly enough, but we where a bit confused when staff members brought a pallet of broken tiles past us as though last minute building works where going on..... As a joiner and builder as a job this was far from heavenly for me, and not what I expected to see in a restaurant. Needless to say we will not be going in this chain again.

My girlfriend and I had an amazing experience at Heavenly Desserts in York! The desserts were absolutely delicious, but the highlight of our visit was the fantastic service from Imogen. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed for a perfect evening. It’s rare to find such great service, and it truly made our visit special.

Got our order wrong to the point neither of us enjoyed the food. Service was so slow, it took half an hour to be served and the restaurant wasn’t even that busy. The most appalling thing of all was the hour wait for the bill, after speaking to the waiter about it and making eye contact with him many times too, we decided to just go up to the desk and wait for someone to come to the till to pay. While today’s experience was nothing to rave about, I have been on other occasions when it has been a much more positive experience so perhaps today was an off day, we all have them.
