Only came for an evening milkshake and coffee but we did enjoy them and got given water for the table without asking! The atmosphere was a little off as we had drunken guys next to us who were incredibly loud which altered the experience. Would go back just to see if the day is any better as I have previously enjoyed my experience here and would’ve been a lot better without the guys next to us!

We went here today for mothers day, they had a special mothers eat free offer on. But only on selected items ( this part is not shown on the offer) We were seated and eventually someone came to take our order. We ordered 3 smoothies and 3 deserts. Yet again we waited, after ages the deserts arrived but no drinks. I told the waiter we had ordered the drinks, he said I will go and get them for you. Omg I have never eaten my food before the drinks arrived until today. The service was dreadful (it wasn't that busy) to top it off we paid the bill to find the free mothers offer hadn't been taken off! Food was OK but the service was rubbish. Won't be coming back in a rush!

We treated ourselves after dinner elsewhere….Amazing food and drinks, service, ambience. A must visit for a great treat and way to end a dinner elsewhere!

My friends and I came here for the first time and the food was absolutely delicious. With so many amazing options, Ali helped us and served us our food! Will definitely come back.

OK, so we ate here as a last minute thing after having arrived back in York after a weekend away and remembered the Restaurant week was on. Even with the discount we came out feeling short changed, definitely not worth the money full price. Slow service, amendments to the order not fulfilled and average food. Perfectly edible but no wow factor. The worst thing was the cleanliness. The waiter had a black apron on that certainly was not fresh on that morning and it was covered in hand wipes and dirt. We were there at 11am and the chairs and floor were covered in crumbs and dropped bits of food, the tables had been wiped but it doesn't appear any other cleaning had been done since the day before. I wish we had just turned tails and walked out to be honest.

I don't like to write negative reviews, but management should know, and customers should be warned. I came here with my family 2 years ago and loved the experience. I was excited to come back. However, this was by far the most disappointing experience of our recent trip. The restaurant was dirty. The service was slow and distracted. Our order was wrong. The food was not good and overpriced. Not a single person in our party of 8 enjoyed their dessert. I personally ordered the monkey bread special that had its own page on the menu. It looked nothing like the photo. Instead of being tall, fluffy, and mealt-in-your-mouth, it better resembled a hard, flat, burnt danish. It's as if this team has given up. I truly hope they can turn this place around because the potential is huge.

We ordered via deliveroo and chose the monkey bread. What arrived was not monkey bread and not what is in the picture. So we called the restaurant, and a member of staff proceeded to yell at us and repeatedly called the item a cinnamon swirl and tried to gaslight us into thinking it was the item we ordered and what is pictured. Either the picture needs to be updated or the name of the item should be changed as it's always prepared that way according to this staff member. (He said he made the order himself.) Never have we ever been yelled at like that as a paying customer. The food is delicious and we're sad to not be visiting anymore. As someone who also works in hospitality, this is miles below the standard they should be presenting towards guests and if we had been there in person, I'm sure we would not have been screamed at like this.

Came here for York restaurant week and Ali was very helpful. He made sure we had a table suitable for our prams and brought over highchairs for the babies. The brunch bowl was delicious!

I went in with my mum because I had a lovely experience last time and recommended that we should go since the York Restaurant Week was on and a coupon for 2 desserts and 2 drinks for £15pp was available to use. Once we walked in the waiter only said hello and did not even ask how many people were needed to be seated so we had to say that we needed a table for two. It felt very awkward as even then he didn’t even show us properly where we could sit so we had to just follow him and then he gave us menus and didn’t even ask whether we were ordering on the app or not. We asked the waiter about the coupon and it seemed like he didn’t even know about the coupons available to use for the couple of weeks. After finally getting to the checkout the coupon didn’t work on the app so we had to had to order with the waiter which was again an awkward process. After waiting for about 25 minutes the desserts were finally served. The portions were a lot smaller than last time I visited and the brownies I had were almost cold. The food was delicious but practically eaten in a few spoonfuls. After we finished the server came without a tray and left a glass on the table without even coming back for it even though there were only us and another table in there. When we went to pay the code wouldn’t work again so we ended up not enjoying our time and wasting more money than we were meant to. Overall, we won’t be coming in again, now we know the portion sizes. Edited 19/3/25 Me and my mum went for the complimentary dessert and it was such a better experience. The waiter, Ali, was very pleasant and friendly and made sure we had the best experience. The food was delicious and hot this time and was served quickly. It’s nice to see how important the restaurant’s relationship is with their customers and how quickly they will help you to forget the negative experience you might’ve had the first time. Overall, the whole experience was very enjoyable and we will definitely be returning again sometime.

We landed on this place while looking for a place for brunch. It has lots of savoury and sweet options so we went in and we were really pleased. We were served by Ali, who was very helpful and polite. Loved the croffle and my partner loved the French toast. It was a bit quiet though, a bit of background music can do no wrong :)

I came in on my birthday for a little treat. It happily coincided with restaurant week so I got my dessert for £5. I was seated quickly, but the service felt a little rushed. I chose the Bueno crunch croffle which was AMAZING. i had wanted to try a croffle for the longest time and I was not disappointed. Perfectly buttery and crispy. Loaded with sauce and amaretti pieces. The contrast of the cold ice cream and the warm croffle was perfect.

Cute everything. The food is amazing and the cafe bomb on is interesting. The places was nicely decorated. Will be returning :)

awful experience , i ordered my food and it told me it would take an 40mins, it took just over an hour and by the time food arrived it was cold and soggy, i was very disappointed

I was very excited to take my friend here during our trip to York. We arrived just in time for brunch, but was told it was no longer being served. I thought that this was fair considering we had only just made it for 4pm. We ordered 'sweet treats' and waited a reasonable period of time before our desserts arrived. To me, the hazelnut croffle was rather bitter, but I am not a professional food critic so it is okay! Service seemed to be of a good standard, especially when our waiter used the utmost etiquette to take our plates away. That was until he disappeared and left us waiting for half an hour for our bill! We had other friends waiting for us, so we needed to leave. Then we spotted our waiter smoking at the entrance to this 'fancy' brunch place. Oh no!!!! We eventually got the bill from another member of staff and left. Thank god! Overall, did not like the service or the food, just liked the company!

Slow and unorganised service. Order was partially wrong. Food was decent but expensive for the the portion size. We both got cookie doughs that came with a tiny scoop of ice. I won’t be going back.

No music or atmosphere whatsoever, never seen staff more disappointed by having customers. It's the 3rd time I have tried this place and its always disappointing. Food comes in instalments, by the time my Mom had her food everyone else was almost finished. It's dirty with cobwebs hanging from the light fittings and its not worth the money. AVOID

⭐☆☆☆☆ Awful Service & No Interest in Customers Went into Heavenly Desserts for a takeaway and was completely ignored by the staff. After looking at the menu, we stood waiting to order, only for the staff to start chatting among themselves just a metre away from us, showing zero interest in serving us. No acknowledgment, no attempt at customer service—just a complete lack of care. After waiting with no engagement, we left. Absolutely terrible experience. If they can’t be bothered to serve customers, we’ll take our money elsewhere. Avoid.

Lives up to it's name, Ali did a great job serving us, especially given he was on his own and how busy it was. Delicious.
