Great pub with a local feel. Not easy to find but well worth the search. Service was good. Food was good. We will return.

I took my parents for mother's day. We all had the roast which was fantastic. We also had the Berry crumble and custard. It was all delicious. Well worth a visit. Staff are so friendly and helpful.

Undoubtedly, one of the best gluten-free fish and chips I've tasted in Cornwall - beautifully cooked fish with delicious triple-cooked chips and homemade tartare sauce.

Although we live locally we didn't know this place existed, but what a discovery. Attentive and friendly staff and food second to none, plenty of it and to a very high standard. My wife and myself had the sharing platter for two that would easily feed 4!! Will definitely return and would highly recommend.

Can only highly recommend Globe Vale and The Shaft Inn 100 percent . The food in the Shaft Inn is top drawer and the Sunday roasts just get better and better and the reason for our return visit today . The bar is up with the best and draught keg beer dispensed spot on served correctly in branded glasses with the branding faced towards the customer . My wife had perfectly presented Gin and Tonic twice and in large bowl stemmed glasses to maximise presentation again . We can only say “thankyou to all” here as always . You’ve cracked it !!

I was with a group of friends and we went on a curry night. I had a lovely tikka masala it was just hot enough for me. Good portions.

Absolutely brilliant service throughout and the food was exceptional. 4 starters, 4 mains, drinks and desert with no fault at all. The food is of a very high standard and cooked to perfection. This is a hidden gem and one not to be missed. We have dined at many expensive places in cornwall and none of them compare to the experience we had on Thursday 4th Jan. We will definitely be returning more than once. Thank you to the chef and thank you team. All the very best Gary, Jo and the twins.

Despite living fairly locally we had never heard of The Shaft Inn before reviews starting popping up on my social media feeds. When my father in law came to stay we decided to pop in for dinner and were very impressed. The Shaft Inn is spotlessly clean, nicely refurbed and the welcome was warm. Our food was plentiful, well presented but most important, delicious! Ideally located on the coast to coast cycle path, I suspect we may be summer regulars! We will certainly be back before then though.

Booked a table for our family all fine, got a call the day after saying we cannot have our table at the time slot which we agreed and had booked in, to be given a ridiculous time at night to be moved too, bloke was extremely rude on the phone, would stay well clear if you want to book in advance

Christmas lunch at The shaft inn and i have to say thank you to the team working today on Christmas day. It was absolutely amazing. Everything from the service to the delicious food we ate. Could not fault it. It was 1st class and an absolute feast. 1st of many I hope. You should all be proud of yourselves. Thank you so so much .

Booked for gin tasting and decided to have a meal first. I liked the menu and chose a seafood sharing board for two with my husband. Food was well cooked, delicious and enough for 3. The surroundings were extremely clean and being an ex pub landlady I notice those kind of things. Great choice of drinks, something to suit every one. The gin tasting was well organised and the distillers were very knowledgeable. Good luck to them, only young and I hope it all works out for them. Now … the manager Tye!! If I still had my public house, I’d be poaching him at any cost!! He was polite, courteous and a whole lot of fun!! Definitely an asset to the place. We live about 2 miles from this place and absolutely delighted that we found it. We will most definitely be back!

Just come back from Sunday roast and it was delicious - cooked to perfection nothing too much trouble - will definitely be going back. Tye you absolutely make this place and are the perfect host. Food simply stunning

First visit, for their quiz night. Food served til quite late to those present, both resident and non residents. Good selection, friendly staff with quick service.

Amazing food , the Sunday roast was our first meal . Choose between small medium or large . Very generous portions and really nice to see the meat to us was cooked just the way we like it slow melted in the mouth. We will certainly be going back during our holiday.

The only reason for 3 stars on atmosphere was because it was very quiet with only a couple of other customers. Shame because this place is well worth a visit. We had the Sunday lunch.

Due to the nature of my job I get to eat at many steakhouses throughout the UK & London. And I can say I have had some brilliant steaks over the years. But I never thought I would find the best steak I ever had and I mean this was a piece of meat (a 32oz Tomahawk) cooked to perfection who would of thought that a restaurant (The Shaft Inn) on a Holliday Park (Globe vale) in Cornwall could out shine all the steakhouse i'v been too. And the service from the staff was 150%. Can't Wait to have another one. One other thing you need to try their Curry night and Sunday roast and anything else that's on the menu. Keep up the great work Tye and team Shaft inn.

Food really great and customer service was really friendly

Amazing bar/restaurant located in globe vale holiday park, amazing friendly staff and a lovely warm welcoming upon entrance, excellent service during my and my family time eating food at the shaft inn, amazing food so delicious and the chefs are amazing aswell, would highly recommend anyone to go visit and have a meal at the the shaft inn. I Will definitely be going back to the shaft inn for a meal or a quiet drink more in the future.

The Shaft Inn is amazing, great friendly staff and the food is amazing! I had the Rack of Ribs, they were the best I have ever had! The menu has a great choice for everyone, and for me I had trouble deciding what i wanted as there was such a great choice.

This is the onsite pub for the Globe Vale Holiday Park which we visited many times during our two week stay. The food and drinks are very good with super friendly staff. There is different entertainment each night. You can sit inside or outside and there is also an outside children's play area.

A really friendly welcome, spotless premises and an absolutely delicious Sunday lunch! The home made Yorkshire puddings would be hard to beat. A tip top experience in every way

We had family visiting over the last few weeks and found this place was our go-to for meals. Everyone enjoyed their meal at each of the 4/5 sittings that we went. The food is consistently delicious and such a wide range available. Drinks are cheap compared to most of our locals now. All the staff are friendly and helpful. The singer was very good, and Tank's quiz was ace. Definitely recommend and will be returning many, many more times.

Pleased to see Globe Vale campsite now has a decent place to eat on site! Really enjoyed our food and drinks here as did my husband and kids. Good portion sizes and choice. Lovely views of the country side and restaurant placed conveniently next to...

Had a couple of pints of offshore lager two adult meals and a chids meal. All were very nice. Service was friendly and professional at the same time. I would thoroughly recommend the shaft to anyone. Thanks for an enjoyable evening and will see you again.

Went for a Father’s Day roast with my girlfriend and her family on Sunday evening and the food absolutely gorgeous. Cooked perfectly and the service was great with friendly staff.

The Shaft Inn offers great value. All the staff are professional and welcoming. We were a party of six and all the meals were fantastic (we all had different things) Great range of beers and ciders as well.

Just had a meal at the newly refurbished Shaft Inn, looks amazing inside with great views from the terrace, staff are friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Food was delicious and very well presented, I can highly recommend a visit.

Stayed on campsite over Christmas. The pub had a lovely atmosphere and had a good range of drinks at reasonable prices. At the time of visiting, the restaurant was undergoing renovations so they had a street food option on from a food van. We didn't eat but plenty of people were and it seemed they enjoyed it.

Super friendly staff and service. We ate and drank here a number of nights on our two stay. They have band nights and bingo. You get to meet the locals and find out things to do.

Amazing food and excellent service and very friendly

Lovely pub, with dog friendly room and nice beer and decking with stunning views. Staff friendly and helpful, food looked nice a little pricey, can only comment on pizza which was lovely, chips ok not home made which I expected at £4 a portion. Only three options on draught, cider, larger and ale, a little more choice would have been nice. So small improvements, with the cost of food and drink choice and it would be five star.

Great service on a beautiful site, well worth a visit

The mine cafe is part of the cornish tin mine. There is a variety of dishes. I had a scone with cornish cream a side salad with chutney, which was really nice. The staff was polite and efficient. It was a pleasant experience to end the day after exploring the tin mine.

Fantastic Views, Food & Cornish Drinks Offering. Will deffinatly be back with our Dogs & for the events coming up!

Had high hopes for The Shaft Inn but it landed on a bbq night for us. Paid nearly £37 for a cold pulled pork bun (literally no more toppings, just pulled pork), a chicken skewer that had 4 tiny pieces of chicken on it and some burnt veg, two pieces of ribs and 3 portions of chips. No juice available, just cordial or fizzy pop. Well over priced for what you get in my opinion. Otherwise the tent pitch nice and clean, toilets and showers reasonably clean. Would go back but dine elsewhere.

At the SHAFT INN , great place and the BUDGIE SMUGGLERS were playing great tunes for all ages. Staff were spot on .didn't try the food although it looked lovely. We would go back.

Food was pretty tasty, waitress had no idea though & lacked people skills. All in all it was a fairly decent meal out whilst staying on site.

Food is really good! There's an outdoor section for dogs, friendly staff who clearly care about customer service. The views are epic for the balcony, and there is a good selection of drinks.

Two visits that were “Chalk & Cheese” We went to this pub twice while staying at Globe Vale. The first visit was a very good experience with good service. Though the kitchen had run out of Steak they managed to cook a Gluten free dish for my wife. A good selection of drinks the service team of two ladies were good and warranted a good tip. 4 Stars for that. Our second visit was a complete disaster from a service point of view. There were two new members of staff being trained and we didn’t get served until 35 minutes after sitting down. The pub didn’t look terribly busy so it was a bit of a surprise. Apparently there were a great deal of takeaway orders. We didn’t get our food until almost 2hours and when it did come there were only 3 out of 4 meals served. We had to complain and the 4th eventually came out a little later but 3 of us had finished our meal. They did offer us some free drinks and were very apologetic. I think it’s still worth giving them a visit and maybe give them the benefit of the doubt as hopefully the staff are fully up to scratch now. I don’t like giving poor reviews but I feel it warranted one. It’s probably a great deal easier during Non Covid times.
