The Seahorse Brighton in Brighton and Hove

A lovely atmosphere & nothing is too much trouble. We were having a short break in Brighton & had visited this venue over 2 years ago. They had changed hands but it was so much better . Excellent value for money lunch deal. We came back for our last evening meal. My husband hadn’t been well so didn’t want sauces or butter on anything. They accommodated his requests with no problem. Excellent food & even better service

Wow Wow & Wow 🤩Absolutely amazing experience . My daughter took me here for late lunch Tuesday 27th feb 2024 . We had lamb skewer to start which actually blew us away , the flavours, presentation & quality was sublime . We had fish, chips peas with tartar sauce for our mains & yet again absolutely delicious & top quality. I highly recommend this restaurant you will not be disappointed & we will most definitely be returning.

There were really bad bits to this experience. Some of it was ok but not outstanding. Firstly there weren't enough waiting staff. They did their best, but it meant very slow service, which clearly wasn't their fault. The starter of prawns was ok but nothing special. The beef short rib was better but not overwhelming. It was ok. The pudding had a very grand name but was basically smashed biscuits in layers with whipped cream. That was it. For a mid range restaurant, it was really disappointing. One of the toilets was blocked, which was unpleasant. Seahorse needs to sort a few things out. Maybe it was just a bad day.

Had a lovely meal - havent been since it was taken over. Windy day so amazing views, food was first class and service attentive. Would thoroughly recommend and will be back again in the future.

We came across the restaurant by luck, as were walking around looking for somewhere for an evening family meal with the children I’m glad we did. The service was excellent and the food was superb. I highly recommend going there if you are in Brighton. The filet mignon was perfectly cooked as I ordered it. A little expensive but we’ll worth the money. Thank you for a lovely experience- it was a lovely end to our weekend away.

We thought this was a beautiful restaurant - comfortable seats overlooking the sea. We loved the cod with bean and tomato cassoulet - delicious! Service couldn’t be faulted. Highly recommended.

Have been here twice, once with my parents for an evening meal and previously with the in-laws for lunch. Both times we had delicious food with attentive and efficient service. We moved to Brighton from Brixham - where there’s no shortage of decent fish and chips - and the meal we had at the Seahorse was as good as any we had there.

Looks impressive from the road - especially the terrace facing out over the water. That’s about as positive as I can be unfortunately. Just a brief stop for lunch however the food served was bland as anything, and hugely disappointing. Service was reasonably fast and efficient but with little warmth or interest. Let’s be clear here though - that’s a reflection on management, not a reflection on the service staff. I suspect the building (which looks ace) sets some false expectations of what’s inside, so you expect more ? Summary: Bland and uninspiring and there are so many better places in Brighton for the money.

Party of 7 on a quiet evening. Service was friendly and mostly efficient and the food was really quite good but… One of the starters came very late and one of the main courses failed to appear. On a quiet session this should not happen. Given the superior location I imagine the operating costs are high and this type of experience is not likely to keep the business afloat.

Superb food and amazing service, with the right level of friendliness and professionalism - hard to find in this day and age. Wish the whole team every success. We look forward to our next visit - great location by the beach too, and car park (although expensive!! it was easy)

We had the downstairs space for the late afternoon and evening until 1am to celebrate our wedding. The space was perfect, right on the beach. We had around 100 people for a tasty sit down meal, followed by a disco! The team were excellent throughout the planning, the event itself and then afterwards too. They helped us to choose the menu in advance, prepare the tables and decorations before the event and took delivery of our cake. The hot buffet was perfect for a range of guests with different tastes- the coconut prawns and butternut curry were our favourites! Bex in particular was absolutely incredible from the first time we emailed her to request the event hire, to setting up everything just as we had requested, and tidying up for us the day afterwards and ordering us taxis to pick us up. She was so approachable, quick to answer our emails and so attentive to our many questions and requests! Thank you so much! Would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a unique and special event space.
