Caffe Nero - Brighton, Nile Street in Brighton and Hove

usually love this cafe Nero, nice to have a coffee & chill out .. today however the staff , a guy and woman were SO SO loud ... how the hell can you have a relaxing coffee ?

Friendly staff clean tables but the toilet was disgusting

Coffee was 7/10 but the conition of the bathroom is kind of disturbing, after all it is a good choice to warm yourself up

Cute little shop with very good hot chocolate.

Had a generous mug of hot coffee and a chocolate donut. Added bonus, the place has sockets to charge laptops and phones. However, the closing staff is extremely rude.

Zu aller erst: der Café ist qualitativ völlig ok und schmeckt. Allerdings ist der Service unfreundlich und man fühlt sich wie in einer typischen Systemgastronomie-Filiale. Die Snacks sind geschmacklich ok, aber man merkt eben, dass diese nicht selbst gemacht sind. Zudem sind die Speisen masslos überteuert. Knapp 5 Pfund für eine winzige Blätterteigtasche mit Gemüse. Dann doch lieber zu kleineren, authentischen Cafes...

Great place excellent customer service brilliant coffee

Coffee was ok, not mixed properly. Food tasted slightly undercooked/not warmed up enough. Tables left with cups on for ages. Service was bad, the women gave us our food by standing about 6 foot away and stretching out to give it us. Pigeons coming in and out, even pooing on the floor and nothing was done about it, even when staff were told. Not a good place!

Great place to sit and watch Brighton life, inside or out. The only negative is that there is only one toilet, and the queue can be quite long, especially when non customers all come in to use it.

Been coming here for years on & off. Still great coffee and good food selection. As mentioned the furniture is a little dated but that gives this place great character. On this occasion the service was really good. I suspect because he was management covering for the various different staff I see at this establishment.

Nice café with the regular suspects on the menu. Can be quite busy. Furniture is quite old style giving the place a good character.

Went to collect a 'too good to go' bag. Waited 15 minutes before I was even acknowledged to be told (loudly) "I don't have any food for you" like I was a beggar!! I paid for a service and got treated like rubbish. The member of staff (bearded guy with a 'man bun') needs a serious lesson in customer service!

Cafe nero has always been my favorite coffee place, but this particular shop is the best of all !! I came to this place with my hubby this afternoon and I ordered only 1 small coffee for my hubby as I was unfortunately too full after big lunch. The gentleman who prepared and served our coffee was superbly skilled, charming and very kind. We will definitely visit again everytime we come to Brighton!!

Food great as always. Server looked furious with me the whole time I was ordering and while they were making/passing me my order. They also charge 10p for decaf - I've never come across another coffee shop that charges extra for decaf? Most places I can't tell the difference between the regular and decaf coffee but this one had that aftertaste to it that people sometimes talk about with decaf - so seems doubly cheeky to charge for it.

Staff were so helpful. Will def return there.

Fajn místo. Klasická nabídka a dobrá obsluha i obstojné toalety. Jen.... taková zvláštní věc..... hrníčky byly všechny slané ))))) Docela jsme dlouho přemýšleli proč

Really cosy inside but beware, the closing staff are quite rude :/ Repeatedly mentioned that they were closing as we we’re packing up our stuff, trying to leave.

Sahile yürüyüş yapmaya giderken kahvemi buradan alıyorum ve keyifle yürüyüşüme dahil ediyorum. Bildiğim yerlerden kahve içmeyi seviyorum hemen hemen her seferinde aynı kalitede yapılıyor çünkü. Sıkışmış ara sokakta olduğu gibi kendine münhasır da bir yeri var açıkçası. Türkiye'de de Coffe Nero'yu tercih ediyorum özellikle İstanbul'da olanı. Kaliteli kurumsal firmalardan birisi. Öncelik müşteri memnuniyeti para değil. Personelleri sanki özel seçilmiş gibi kibar ve Kaliteli.

Lovely people behind the counter. Good sense of humor. While I was not looking for a chain coffee shop, the atmosphere here is like a local shop. Very welcoming.

Absolutely appalling service.. Waited 10 minutes to be served while the staff potted about, not acknowledged, no hello, no thankyou, & the coffee was undrinkably bitter.. Awful experience...

It’s quite a small, but charming branch. The building is old and many of the original features had been retained. The coffee was as you’d expect and the staff were pleasant.

We went in here to have a coffee and use up time before going on to a restaurant where we had lunch booked. It was ok but not the best Caffe Nero I have visited.

Recientemente visitamos, para tomar un bocadillo rápido y beber mientras caminamos por las calles. Claramente interrumpimos a las 3 mujeres groseras del personal, que estaban demasiado ocupadas charlando sobre adónde iban a salir y qué vestían. Después de que me sirvieron, uno le dijo al otro "de todos modos, volvamos a nuestra conversación". Pedí un sándwich que necesitaba ser tostado, ¡obviamente fue un esfuerzo extremo! ¡Me dijeron que me parara y esperara al final! Luego se arrojó en una bolsa de papel, y prácticamente se dobló en el proceso. Cuando volví a mi mesa y saqué la bolsa, me di cuenta de que no estaba cortada. No estoy seguro de cómo iba a comerme una tostada de queso caliente hirviendo, sin al menos cortarla. Volví y pedí cortésmente que lo cortaran. El comentario que recibí fue "bueno, tendré que ponerme guantes para hacer eso". Ok, lo siento si eso fue difícil. Escuché que el personal también era extremadamente grosero con otros clientes. Mientras comíamos, uno de los miembros del personal vino barriendo. También barriendo alrededor, debajo de nuestra mesa y sillas mientras estábamos sentados allí, sin disculpas. No estoy seguro de por qué se molestó en realidad, ya que todo lo que hizo fue mostrar lo sucio que estaba el lugar. Luego procedió a dejar las migas, el polvo, etc.en el medio del piso, por lo que obviamente fue solo para que pareciera que se había hecho, ¡no para limpiar realmente! Seguramente durante estos tiempos, los lugares deben estar muy limpios. Creo que el personal claramente necesita capacitación adicional en todas las áreas. Definitivamente no volvería a visitarlo.

Drinks are good, staff are friendly, mince pies are vegan. Toilet surprisingly nice - clean, with soap and toilet roll and a very efficient hand dryer. Love it. 5/5

Drinks were fine, female staff member wasn’t. Openly moaning to another customer outside of the toilet door, about myself as I was in there, miserable at the counter and when I asked for a cup holder as the drink was hot to hold I was told I could have one but there wasn’t many left.... I only wanted one?!

I’m more into independent coffee chains, however used to work at a Nero’s many moons ago in Guildford . It’s easily the best out of the chains. Proper Italian coffee, Starbucks hasn’t got a patch on this place with its weak coffee. Had an espresso crema was just right . Also had a muffin , tasty . Good service. Toilets could do with a clean though

This little Caffè Nero has lots of competition around it and on sunny days has tables outside which is good to see. However on other aspects it is nothing special. It needs some TLC and money spending on it. Two locks on the loo don’t work, so a third is added rather than fixing one of the others. That pretty much sums it up. Unloved and average.

Love this venue. Comfy and with good ambience, usually quieter than the in branches nearer to the town centre. Staff always helpful & friendly

La camarero rubia se intentó reír de mí por mi bajo nivel de inglés. Sin duda no vuelvo a ningún Caffe Neto.

Popped into Neros today to escape the downpour of rain with husband and 2 grandchildren. Recieved excellent service from gentlemen serving and enjoyed the beverages and cakes we ordered. On using the toilet facilities prior to leaving I was appalled at the disgusting state of the toilet. This was not just unclean it was completely neglected and unfit for public use. The toilet pan was covered in thick grime .the seat and rim of toilet was lime scaled and gilthg as we're all pipes around the room , dusty dirty and unhygienic. The door handles were sticky from goodness knows what . The area around the sink and taps were dirty with dust and limescale and completely disgusting. I would not recommend this cafe as this is likely to be a health and safety issue.

Staff could be more friendly and at least look at you when ordering instead of holding conversation with each other. Toilet need replacing it’s filthy or a good clean with bleach. Coffee was ok.

Very nice experience of coffee by the window and people watching. Midweek it was fairly busy but spacious.

We visit cafe Nero about once a month at prince Albert Street as we love the milano hot chocolate But we've noticed the toilet there is getting very shabby and could do with a bleach. The toilet roll holder is broken and its not clean. Attention to detail is what's needed in this shop tables are being left with cups and rubbish on we've had to ask someone to wipe our table the last few visits even if its a qúet time in there there seems no rush to clear and clean tables Its a shame as its in a prime spot in Brighton But I think we shall give it a miss for a bit

Desperate for a coffee and sandwich and all the places we tried were full or did not offer what we wanted and as we were short of time called in here It was about 2.15 and there was one sandwich left, the coffee was great as I expected However where we sat there was a shelf which was so dusty that you could write your name in it together with a pot with a plastic plant that also had not been cleaned for weeks, not acceptable and there was no attempt to clear or clean tables

Friendly service and opens relatively early compared to other cafes. Always have the flat white as it is the closest I can get to a Melbourne type latte.

De lekkerste soorten (italiaanse) koffie, voor de lunch te combineren lekkere hapjes. Trendy inrichting, jonge baristo's. Zelf halen bij de bar: geen bediening.

I'm not the biggest fan of Caffe Nero's coffee, but their lemon poppy seed muffins are the best I've found so far and this particular branch has a table outside that gets all the sun, if you get there at the right time!

Very friendly Staff. Coffee was , as usual for a Nero, very good. There seemed to be a lot of locals and business people using the Café, which added to the atmosphere.

Me gustaría dejó de ir a Caffè Nero porque el servicio en mi sucursal local en Lewes era tan pobre, pero arrastrarán aquí era mi familia y descubrí un tipo muy diferente de cafetería. Todo el ambiente del lugar es muy diferente. El servicio era muy amable pero también eficiente. También me gustó la música y mesa de diseño.

Nice place, pleasant atmosphere, nice view, friendly stuff. The toilet (as there is just 1) is unisex plus baby changing, so you sometimes have to wait a while (this is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5).

El café debe ser el mismo en cada tienda, cafetería nero así cómo el café aquí sabe muy bueno, así coherente cada vez? Hay algunas mesas fuera, si eres fumador, no estoy! Pero para café, consistente este Café Nero es excelente!

The location here is the key. You are sitting so that you can follow all the life on Prince Albert St. and the restaurants located there.Coffee is good and cookies are great.What¨s not to like

Bought a coffee here afte cycling to Brighton. Not sure if I was grumpy but there was. 2 of us in the queue and one staff member serving. Two other staff members were messing on the till ignoring customers, it may have been training but looked more like messing and the staff member who did serve us was more preoccupied with what was going on on the till. However coffee was great and was able to work call as music was not to loud. I like Cafe Nero so will not hold it against them this time!

The barista who served us was a delight, very chatty and served my tea just how I like it-very strong. I very big coffee shop and loads of room to sit and relax.

As you would expect, Caffe Nero is just Caffe Nero. It's the same everywhere - relatively overpriced but adequate food. The soya hot chocolate is good here and the staff are always really friendly. You never have to wait too long for service so it's great before work.

Una franquicia con buen chocolate caliente. No es como una teteria tipica ni mucho menos, pero hay wifi y un buen sitia para refugiarse un poco del frio o lluvia.

good strong hot cappucino in a pleasant atmosphere. pity the outside tables are not in the sun in the afternoons. Also quite a windy spot.

Great place to meet up with family and friends. This branch is situated in the Lanes and offers a variety of teas, coffees, juices, food and cakes. Relaxed atmosphere including outside seating and availability of newspapers. Close to seafront and shops.

if you like an italian "gelato or caffe" is "il posto giusto". Take your time stay in relax and you will be heppy to stay there.....ciao

I'd only have a coffee if I found a Cafe Nero. Good service too! There were various cafes around town so it wasn't too hard to find one nearby. They also had a good selection of snacks to go with it.

Very pleasant environment. Staff friendly and premises clean. Lovely coffee and cheese and ham melts.

O serviço é exatamente igual a aquele que todos sabem qual é, escolhe-se o que comer, beber paga-se a conta e vai para a mesa. Mas os cuidados com os detalhes fazem a diferença, as xícaras são grandes, bem arrumadas e decoradas com a espuma do café, as comidas parecem mais gostosas por serem servidas com mais atenção, menos impessoal.

Se volete un buon espresso evitate Starbucks e andate da caffe Nero.Buona posizione, baristi cortesi e gentili. Buono anche il cappuccino.
