A real friendly pub. Lovely team who always greet you with a warm smile. Today a group of 40+ students arrived unannounced for food and soft drinks with their chaperones and Jodie took charge and made sure everyone was well looked after not even disturbing the locals! Outstanding work by the whole team involved. There is a pleasant beer garden that is a sun trap in the summer and still less than £2.00 a pint at the moment what is not to like!

We came in with a group of about 40 students and had lunch here. Good food, fair prices and very friendly service :)

Staff were great. Nothing was to much. Food arrived all together and quickly, which was appreciated as we were a group of 7.

Value for money and friendly staff!

This was our first time at the Wetherspoons in Herne Bay and while we were a little skeptical at first, the food was good as expected and the drinks flowing. It was very busy towards the back with more space available towards the quieter front area. The bar is up some stairs so be warned if you are not completely able. The full menu as expected here and food didn’t take too long to arrive overall. A few places could do with an extra wipe but it wasn’t too bad.

Very dark and dingy. Not as open as other Spoons. Food is average and not very tasty. Shame as the staff are very customer oriented and friendly. Couple of Slot machines. Men’s toilets are a walk and not nice. Lots of deals on drinks and food. The whole place needs to be refreshed.

Coming from being a Ramsgate girl and being blessed with the biggest Weatherspoon in the UK, Herne Bay weatherspoons building doesn't compare BUT and a big BUT, what this Weatherspoon lacks in character they certainly make up for in their service. The staff here are always so friendly and will do anything to help, cannot fault their customer service.

Not the best Spoons I've been to but good enough

I have been coming to the Saxon shore for several months now and found the food (and capacino) to be good and excellent value for money. Most of all I would like to commend the serving staff for how hard they work. They obviously enjoy their work, and make my visit a pleasant one.

Nice little pub selling great food at a reasonable price

Not a bad spoons, about what you'd expect. Had a couple of nice meals here, very good fish and chips which was quite a surprise. Not the best spoons Ultimate Burger I've had in my life, but still pretty good.

Orders managers special which was a beef curry. Seen pigs eat better food then what I was given. Lost count how many times staffed asked me if I finished because I like to take my time eating. One member of staff even came and found me in smoking area to ask if I had finished. Other wetherspoons leave you in peace to eat your food. People with limited mobility only have access to a quarter of the pub and they can't even access the bar as no lift installed to access that access area which involves using 2 large steps Disabled toilet access is the worst I've ever seen and you have hold disabled toilet door so wheel chair to get in otherwise it closes itself. Staff are meant to sign sheet of paper to say toilet has been inspected but go lots of hours between inspection. There has been POO on the floor for over 24 hours in disabled toliet because staff dont do very good inspection. The decaf and normal tea bags regularly get mixed up were there stored for customers use. Other wetherspoons have it clearly marked which is which. They shut down both hot drinks machines 30 minutes before closing time which prevents customers getting a hot drink , were as other wetherspoons shut there hot drinks machines down 10 minutes before closing time.

Perfect location, food is mixed, but it was very busy. Service was perfect. It’s unbeatable for the price

Can’t speak highly for this establishment. The Ale was average The food was even worse, a very hot plate with cold chips,and some sort of green mush( not a pea in sight) , and the fish was very oily with burnt batter. Sent it back, the second attempt was not much better, the fish was still very oily, but it was dressed with a segment of lemon. I will be avoiding this one, in the future.

Cheap and cheerful. What you would expect. Friendly staff. Good breakfast.

Unfortunately, no naan bread but otherwise a tasty mangalorian roasted cauliflower curry.

I found this to be one of the better Wetherspoons. The staff were efficient, the food good and generally a more upbeat atmosphere than many others I've visited.

I'm rating this as a Wethersoons pub, so would be a 5 star for prices. Great service, I didn't have food here. So put it half way as I have tried the food at other places. Atmosphere was good.

Great spoons! Can feel a bit like a creche in the afternoons which is annoying but other than that can't fault the place!

An overcast August Tuesday . Plenty of parking opposite. 0920hrs .Entered a very dark gloomy empty place. Sat at the window so as to read the standard menu. Breakfasts arrived quick and very unusual for Wetherspoons HOT !!!!!!. Then two sets of men ,not together , allowed either the beer/drugs to take filthy ,foul language to start . I wanted to smash them up but my wife said sit down your no longer 65 . So I let it go as did the 2 young female staff who definitely new them as they were using names. Food was typical spoons , but on a positive note, hot and we didn't have to play the generic game of hunt the free table. No wonder it was empty at height of summer the locals know its customers . Will not be returning .

Great Place to stop and feed a family with young children. Great food and great prices.

What a rude welcoming I received very rude staff I walked through the door another person sat down I sat down scanned menu went to order on app before I could TOLD TO LEAVE by a very rude young female I’ve been to around 50 spoons but never been treated like this I obviously went elsewhere for breakfast as I left others came in

Nice spoons quite big has an outdoor space

Lovely location, right opposite the playground and beach. Lots of seating, with a nice outdoor covered seating area for smokers or just to enjoy the view. The food arrived quickly, and was as expected for a wetherspoons.

What can you say! It's a typical Wetherspoon. Decor was good and view of sea front was good. Food was served quickly and well presented. It are in Herne Bay and want a pub lunch then this is the place!

This pub has some great deals on food and drinks. Food portions are not that large but you can get a reasonable meal from around £5.50 including a soft drink. It's quite a large pub with plenty of seating including an outside area. It has air conditioning which is nice on a hot day It's cheap so it's busy most of the time,if you want a peaceful drink this is not the place for you. They have plenty of staff so you won't wait too long to be served and despite them being busy my food order arrived within 15 minutes.

Very dark and dingy in the Saxon Shore. Pub is ground floor but has a couple of steps to a lowered level. Staff were helpful and quickly cleared a table for us. Had a Stella & Merlot for around £8 which is about right. Some outside seating available at the front of the building. Didn't stay long as the atmosphere & clientele were questionable.

It's a spoons so not much atmosphere but staff were very nice and pleasant much cheaper than central London but I know why

Food was shocking tonight. Nothing like as good as in Canterbury. The pizza dough wasn't cooked but we were told it couldn't go back in the oven. The chips were in the curry sauce so limp and soggy. In Canterbury they're lovely and have the curry sauce in a little jug so you can dip them in. We wasted £18 on this! We were coming back on carnival night with friends but we'll go elsewhere now.

Would leave zero stars if I could Food disgusting dirty tables, doesn't look like it's been cleaned for months. How they haven't been shut down I don't know.

I ordered the Beyond plant based burger, which actually tasted nothing like a Beyond burger. They are the only burgers I eat, this one had bits in it. When I questioned it, they said we have what we're given

Classic 'spoons experience. Food (4x breakfasts - er, not all for me, there were 4 of us) was absolutely fine.

You can always rely on a Wetherspoon. You know just what you are going to get, however this one was a bit better that. The bar staff were excellent and the serving and clearing staff were outstanding. Probably the best JD I have been to.

Took my son for lunch, he loved it. Service quick and friendly staff. Tracy stood out for me, helped a lady that seemed new to serve me. She checked that my son was enjoying his meal. I love it there, but Mr wetherspoon, please invest some money into this pub. Its starting to look very tired. Your staff are keeping it going due to their great service. Love the cheap breakfast as well.

Decent enough 'Spoons-by-the-sea, much like all 'Spoon pubs, but atmosphere brought down by unpleasant scowling barman who spent the entire evening looking like he wanted to start a fight, (just not suited in a 'customer facing' role, might do well in MMA caged stuff)

Use this place a lot. Breakfast is great value for money. Glad they have added a few extra food choices to menu now thou. Staff are normally happy n friendly. It's always busy so that speaks for itself

The table service was very bad. 3 girls behind the bar 20 minutes & no drinks, I when to bar to find out. It took them some time for them to ask me what I wanted. Said order some drinks about 22 minutes ago one said saw that on the screen, ask about the manager one said was the manager, I said is this the way to serve customers all I got was a look

We have been in many wetherspoons in the UK and Ireland. Today here we found a particular supercilious member of staff...bored and pointing to the menu I was ordering from regarding the choice of sauce "read them yourself" the sauce usually came without choice in our experience so we did not know! He was not helpful..not happy at all...even heard him tell a customer about an ale that 'it could take 2 or 3 hours to clean the pipes before the beer could be served again saying "how do I know when it will be on again" ..but the badge was never turned to show the beer was not being served. Very disappointed have to give this one a miss now!

First visit and had a disabled young lady and a new baby with us. The layout was perfect for our needs and courteous staff. We didn't wait long for our food which was hot and exactly what we ordered

Typical whetherspoons food. Lively staff. Bit dark at the back due to low ceilings. Could do with a bit more light. But otherwise its eat you expect fir a spoons

Just had breakfast with my family and really enjoyed everything about the experience. The staff were all so friendly, attentive and helpful; especially Tracy, who is a real credit to Wetherspoon’s and went above and beyond with the personal touch that makes customers feel welcome and looked after. The food was lovely and very reasonably priced. A highly recommended pub.

6 adults 2 children we ordered from the same table paid in 3 couples, food came out wrong cold and at different time's, mixed grill looked like it's sat under the hot plate for couple hours, Curry cold sent back, then came out microwaved to death, no children's menu or fruit shoots, staff didn't really give a stuff, my advice is to avoid, and to the venue itself you know you're going to have a busy day employ staff that can do the job in the kitchen and on the floor.

Food was small portions. Only nice thing was the currys. The staff were disgusting told my younger sister she couldnt drink. Shes 21 with dwarfism.

My favourite bar in Herne Bay because they have strawberry and lime Kopperberge on draft. The food here is good for the price. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. It has a front and back garden.

Good food but unfortunately lunch was spoiled by the local Mum's using it as a creche allowing children to run and crawl unchecked around the restaurant

I visited on Saturday the 27th Lovely staff and atmosphere. Although very busy excellent service. Unlike two years ago which was. Not good. We had a lovely afternoon with our granddaughter and family. Thank you all at weatherspoons saxon shore xxxxx
