Another visit to The Samuel Hall, as always, some great beers on offer! I went for the Old Speckled Hen, which they had on hand pull! Very nice it was too!

Love this Weatherspoons. The Sticky Toffee / Salted Caramel Pudding with Icecream and Toffee Sauce is Devine.The Garlic Pizza bread is Very Nice too and Pint of Pineappl Juice with Ice very Refreshing.Staff are Friendly.

Don't use the app your drinks will never arrive. Service from young female staff is abysmal. No smile, no sorry for the wait, nothing just walking around miserable, if you don't want to be there why don't you leave there are plenty of people out there who would want your job and be good at it. No one wants to be served by mardy under 25s we are so incredibly sorry that it took 40 minutes for our drinks to land on our table boo hoo if we upset your laziness.

It's as you'd expect from a spoons

A spacious Wetherspoons Pub that is kept clean and tidy. The staff work very hard to serve everyone as quickly as possible but at peak times there will be a short wait. They serve a good range of real ales along with all the usual drinks. There is a good mix of customers from families, groups and solo drinkers. Hayden is a particularly good member of staff who remembers regulars drinks and is always polite.

Our family favourite place for breakfast, lunch and dinner in a relaxed inclusive environment. Helpful staff, good service, spacious, clean and steeped in history about it's former use of a bus station. We love this place and visit often.

Didn't have food but nice friendly place

Visit often for breakfast mostly but occasional evening meals. The staff are lovely and can’t fault their service! They always clear tables quickly and it feels very clean. The pub is quite large so fairly easy to find a table even if it’s busy. It also isn’t too loud but still has a nice buzz to it and we love the balcony layout. I really appreciate the variety of vegan options and at decent prices too. My only issues would be for the constant increase in prices in the last year and the quality of breakfasts. I don’t think we’ve ever had hot beans on our breakfasts, occasionally warm but mostly they’re cold. Also some more care for eggs would be great as my partner often gets over cooked or split fried egg. Not huge issues but when you go for breakfasts here as often as we do it is a bit annoying seeing the same mistakes over and over. Overall a lovely spoons with great staff and atmosphere just needs a bit more quality control in the kitchen particularly on the breakfasts.

Most staff exceptional remainder good.. place is clean and tidy.on my latest visit I noticed quite a number of strangers which in someway shows that the pub must be getting a good reputation. Quite a good mixture of clientele, young and old.

For some reason I prefer upstairs to downstairs, but always pretty quick. Always busy.

Called in here for a drink while in the area and found this spoons excellent. Staff were polite and helpful and tables were clean and tidy.

What can I say, it's a Witherspoon's so prices are great, good quality beer. If we're dining in Sherwood we usually pop in for a beer or two before we go to the restaurant.

Precioso edificio y buena comida, pero tristemente decepcionado por un servidor arrogante y argumentativo, hembra, cabello oscuro en cola de caballo llamado Amy. Pedido 2 desayunos, 1 con frijoles y uno con pack de pudín. Llegaron las comidas y les faltaban esos artículos, bastante bien sucede. Caminé hacia el bar y le expliqué al mismo servidor, Amy, y se puso tan defensiva y argumental diciendo que definitivamente los había ordenado. Traté de decirle que no había porque no puedo comerlos debido a una intolerancia a algunos de los ingredientes en ellos. Ella continuó discutiendo, así que dije ok, no estoy discutiendo contigo, si me ordenas los artículos que faltan, simplemente pagaré por ellos, lo que hice. Tengo una intolerancia a los ingredientes de los hash browns así que nunca los habría pedido. Sé que las cosas van mal y totalmente excepto eso, pero discutir y ser tan arrogante no está bien. Excellent Wetherspoons. Visited when the beer festival was on (10.10.24) and they had removed all the regular ales and put festival ales on every handpump. Well done ! I had a mixed grill which was served perfectly hot (can be an issue in some of this chain) and very good. 👍 to the bar operative with platinum hair and blue highlights, you were brilliant.

Drinks are expensive (£7.50 for a standard lager or bitter). You're in what is a glorified leisure centre where the basic alcohol costs more than a nice bar or pub that has friendly staff. Security staff are rude and not particularly approachable. On the plus side seats provided a good view.

It was fairly quiet when we visited. If you've been to one of this chain before, you know what to expect.

Service was extremely slow despite there not being many people there and when I eventually received the breakfast I ordered it was cold. All in all the worse experience of a JD Wetherspoons I have ever had.

A classic JDW pub which goes a long way back and has the usual hike upstairs to the loo. Friendly staff and a decent pint make even that palatable

Had a breakfast here nice pub good grub 5.99 for a large breakfast 2 sausage 2 eggs. 2 bacon. 4 toast beans and 1 mushrooms which was tiny but ok for the price it is a weather spoons after all

Good choice of beers. But in this occasion I had coffee as I was driving. I enjoyed side salad with chicken strips. More of a lunchtime snack really. Just have to be careful leaving as the tables and chairs outside take up a lot of the pavement and the traffic comes very close to the kerb.

We use to go for a drink at this pub. Nice place, most visitors are locals, prices are cheap, kind staff. Not too busy, out of city Center

Service is somewhat slow even when it’s quiet but it’s a fairly nice place to meet for a coffee or a stronger drink and the food here is predictable.

What a breath of fresh air!! I’ve visited many Wetherspoons however this is by far the one I’ve been to!!! It’s so clean, the staff are amazing, the decor and even the toilets are well looked after. I’ll definitely be going back without a doubt because the food was delicious!

The management here is rude af shouted at me for having a piece of cake on the table that I had bought from across the road not even opened! this is the second time I’ve been spoken to like this by him leading me to believe it’s a personal attack saying he won’t serve me again.

Cheap and cheerful, unlimited tea and coffee and 2 main meals for less than £15, so no complaints. Nice decor but quiet, no music or ambience which is fairly typical of a Wetherspoons

I had the gourmet steak 🥩 for the first time medium rare. It was tough even using the provided steak knife 😬 It also was tasteless. The peppercorn sauce wasn’t peppery. Very mild. The price was about £15 with an alcoholic drink. So good value in some ways. Their burgers 🍔 are much better value. If you love steak, probably try somewhere else. Unless I was unlucky

Good enough pub attractive interior.Being a real ale drinker the beer is very hit and miss.You can get a good pint but you also get substandard and cloudy.This is typical of much of the Wetherspoon chain.I have had the full range of an excellent pint to the really awful.Still on a Monday here the real ale pint is just £1.99 which can't be bad

It has an extensive beer list but they don't know it, not even the most famous ones. We ordered some beers(Brewdog, Hazy jane) and a blonde waitress gave us a heineken(650ml), and opened it without asking if that was what we asked for. And then She didn't want to change our beer and wanted to charge us for it. For food. We ordered mashed potatoes with the meat and she gave us fries. The blonde waitress is very unprofessional, arrogant and shameless. They should fire her. Another day a relative asked for a spoon for her baby and she told her that she wasn't giving him anything. If I could I would give 0 stars.

On one of our many, many jaunts to Nottingham we stopped off at The Samuel Hall for lunch. This visit was pre-empting a trip to the Queen's Medical Centre so a very nervous daughter was in tow... Firstly, it's a beautiful building, bright, airy, spacious. Plenty of room between tables, a huge bar and the ever present route march to the toilets. Wetherspoons have a way of taking significant part of a city's history and breathing life into it. In this case, it's an old bus depot and it's easy to see that in every pore of the place. Friendly staff took our order and we settled in with drinks while waiting for our food to arrive. A burger, a curry and chicken strips were ordered and they were dispatched to our table in good time. All three meals were very good indeed considering what little we paid for them. Even my daughter calmed down while she ate, which trust me, is no mean feat. Very good pub that we'll return to without a doubt.

Exactly what one expects from a Wetherspoons. Get the App. Certain staff members have absolutely no "get up and go". They never know who to serve next. A good barkeep always knows.

Quite busy but didnt affect the service. Food arrived quickly. A bit more food on the plate would have been nice. Asked where the peas were as they were just a spoonful spread on the plate. Pic shows after having extra peas. Mashed potato was spread on the plate also to make there look more. Great choice if sauces but most sauce bottles were empty had to ask for some. Quite disapaointed sorry. Staff were all very nice. Nice seating area out tge front.

Come here often due to guaranteed free tables, with most tables having access to power points. Very cheap good breakfast. Lemon herb chicken is to die for.

Nice place upstairs just to watch the world go round

Equipment was broken so they weren't able to offer the full breakfast, only a small selection of items, sausage bap, bacon bap, which when they came were actually sandwiches made with cheap white sliced bread and the sausages and bacon were cold. A real let down compared to other "spoons".

Ordered 2 pizzas 1 of which was burnt. It was offered to be changed and another one came out perfect. Bar tender was friendly.

The manager frightens customers away. she never smiles, not welcoming and upset customers. bossing people about.

We are a regular customers however I must say that too many times the mugs are dirty and given to the people even after had been checked as dirty. When you ask for a clean mug the personal is rude. Again forks are full of food and are been given as clean, when ask for a clean ones again very rude personal. One morning there was such a powerful smell of bleach we couldn't stay for a coffee. I don't know who is responsable for this place to run at optimal standards but something should definitely be changed. Very sad for this place overall.

Cheap and cheerful. We were there NYE so maybe that accounted for the delay in food service and overcooked meat dish my friend had but usually the food is more than adequate and very good for the price

No Haggis at 7pm on Burns night the bar staff were dismissive and rude took the burger home for the dog.

Great pub for drinks, good range of beers. Good for watching sports with mates. The venue is particularly nice inside having been converted from a bus depot. High cellings and great decoration. Toilets are upstairs on first floor towards the back of the venue. Food is cheap and cheerful, but nothing amazing. Drinks selection is usually good with excellent prices. Staff are usually very friendly and welcoming.

Food cold made complaints, all they said was sorry, spoke to manager next day just said he'd look into it! Reported to head office very disappointed regarding customer complaints. Food needs to be looked into poor portions didn't look appertaining. Awful

I chose roast veg and halloumi on salad and it was fresh, herby and tasty with none of the usual reliance on chilli which was really refreshing. There were the usual vegan choices using plant based products and baked potatoes, but I was delighted with my vegetarian choice! We ordered using the app and received accurate updates on the time of arrival. The corner we sat in was cosy and quiet, even with the pub quiz and excitement happening - we were still able to enjoy our own conversation. Very pleasant thank you!
