Lloyds No. 1 Bar in Nottingham

Absolute Tardis of a pub, great service on so many levels - literally!

Every time i go into Lloyds No1 (Nottingham) there's another new face serving behind the bar, who seems to be slightly stupider than the last one. So let me give you a few tips. Ever heard the saying ''service with a smile''? try it. Start by asking yes sir/madam what would you like, or what can i get you? Don't assume they want a mixer or ice with their drinks, or an order of food. Listen to the customer carefully, and don't assume how they gonna pay by pointing at the card machine even before they've received their order when they might be using cash. Finish by saying thank you sir/madam. I know it's low paid but if you don't like it, then take your poor attitude and find another job to pay off that student debt to cover that useless degree you'll probably end up with. Oh and one more thing, i've noticed and not for the first time, that some staff don't know the difference between a single and a double? so you're either don't know what you're doing or you're skimming the till !

Me and my friends came for are a weekend In Nottingham traveled all the way from Milton Keynes. Are hotel was next to this weatherspoons. Well were do I start, the staff are horrible they need to take a lesson how to communicate with customers. I know this as I use to work in catering. The atmosphere is dreadful, and the breakfast was cold and not a lot for a large breakfast. Will not be coming here again. Tables need cleaning, Wetherspoon management need to check their place out.

Waitress: There are no pancakes left for your american breakfast. Do you want something else instead? Me: No problem, put some toast instead of pancakes, please. Waitress after 5 minutes bringing 2 toasts without rest of the order. Do they use their brains in there, idk? Lack of management at all. But who cares? It's just another spoon.

Didn't have food but was a good cheap place. Down side was the disabled toilets, although radar key they are used by everyone with urine all over the floor in puddles and no soap. Apparently the men's just smelt really bad but no puddles of urine 🤔😕

Today it took nearly half an hour for our food to come out, went to complain but server just ignored me, food was alright the pizza edges were burnt so flaked away and the boneless chicken basket was quite grissly.

Only had coffee but the food looked good as it was delivered to adjacent tables.

Rejected entry at 7:30 with 6 friends out for a drink but then straight after a larger group of lads dressed up in party gear allowed entry. Clearly the bouncers live up to their stereotypical personas, very rude, using their weight to throw authority around.

The brunette lady that works on the bar upstairs on Monday nights is rude and aggressive. We had just entered as a large group, and asked to move two tables together as we'd been allowed to the week before, she instantly started shouting at us and then kicked us out for questioning why we werent allowed. Cow.

Always love a "Spoooons" great value for money, tasty food and the staff were courteous and helpful.

I dismissed this place for years. Good atmosphere. Good selection of drinks. Very reasonably priced drinks.

Decent selection of beers at a good price, good location in the heart of the city, food is a bit hit n miss though Standards of service are getting worse, I stood waiting at the bar waiting to be served, when 3 staff members including a duty manage saw me, but failed to acknowledge me, then just wonder off, I waited nearly 5 ,abdtill no service, so I left mins

Horrible racist bouncers! Refused entry claiming were too drunk we only just arrived in town my friend believed she left her ID in there night before and wanted to check. Never been to Lloyds 1 bar and will not be returning !! Disgusting behaviour

Didn’t have what either of us wanted on the menu. Tables left dirty and full of pots.

There are 3 spoons in town within walking distance of each other. This one is the most lively of the lot. Decent atmosphere even at Noon on a weekday as well!

Large English Breakfast I was very surprised how good the large English Breakfast was having read many reviews about the wether spoon’s pub grub The service from the female staff was excellent and the attention to you needs during my stay was A1 👏👏👏 The Atmosphere was also very good Would definitely recommended this pub

Food mediocre in the evening. Went for breakfast in the morning. Not great service. Hott choc machine not working and nobody bothered when it was reported. Breakfast not the best I've had at Wetherspoons but edible.

Not my first choice on a night out. Would choose another spoons. Negatives - the bouncers are unprofessional, rude and disrespectful (especially to men) compared to e.g The Goosebury Bush bouncers. Positives - music is often played with dim lighting and colour lights. Atmosphere can be pretty good. The BAR STAFF are great.

An OK Wetherspoons. Good value as always.

Great to be back in notts. The 90's can't be beaten but to just visit an old haunt during the day with family for a meal and a cheeky pint is surreal, but nostalgic.

When you order sticky toffee pudding and you have fruit and ice cream as extra why doesn't it all come together in the same dish instead of in two separate dishes seems a stupid and backwards to me that 🤔

Good if you want cheap bottle of proseco

Nottingham's nicest Wetherspoon. Lloyds Bank goes pub.

Nice pub spread over two floors and some cosy seating corners including a small beer garden. The ambience was however I think they should keep the place more clean, maintained and a little more lit up. I sat on the upper floor near the bar, and felt a bit in dark. Also, the food was not like what we get in other spoons. The chicken wings were so dry and tasteless, I had to leave back a few for the first time.

Popped in for a quick drink efficient staff great prices quality pint

Ladies toilets had sick in the sink before 5pm and the banisters down to the toilets were very sticky. Staff were very polite. Liked the music playing

The bar was very crowded but the bartender maz was very attentive and charismatic. She made sure every customer was seen to and did an amazing job.

We were the first people through the door on a Sunday morning, so even by the time we left it was only sober people having breakfast or a coffee. Lots of space, decent food, friendly enough staff (one guy was a bit frosty, but was OK after we were polite to him). It's Spoons. You get what you pay for. Would we go back? Absolutely

What a joke...... waiting at the bar to be told no one is serving on this side. You have to wait at the "top or bottom bar" just cause its "A level day" Would not recommended...........

Came here last week and it was a great place, music was great and the staff were excellent. Proper decent spoons.

I came to Lloyds for a few drinks and food if your well aware the Wetherspoon's food isn't that good and I thought that the curry would be a safe option. But sadly it wasn't The curry did come with samosas naan bread which was ok but the curry wasn't The curry you can tell it Patak's curry from a jar and there wasn't enough rice on the plate To be honest I can make better curries than the crap you get from wethersponns

Ordered on the app and the sevice was speedy. Food good. Always enjoy eating at Wetherspoons

Absolutely brilliant public house.drinks are all very cheap.excellent atmosphere all week.spea.cially weekends.sit outside and watch people go by and enjoying.foid is very good and cheap.serve breakfast all day.

It's a wetherspoons so you just expect basic. When basic expectations aren't met you end up with this shambles of a place. The pop I ordered for my daughter was wrong and flat. Took it back and was met with a dirty attitude by the woman behind the bar. Who I assume to be the manager came over and sorted the problem. Sat waiting for food and was brought drinks we didn't order. Told the girl they wasn't ours and just got shrugged shoulders. So someone elsewhere clearly didn't get what they had ordered. The food was brought out by a man who was eating, while bringing our food. Who then gave us filth cutlery it was that bad I again had to go back to the bar to show them this was the state of the cutlery you just gave us. Was told I'll show a manager they will speak to you. That person never came just a girl who put the new ones on the table and said "there" Of all the wetherspoons out there this one needs a management review as that person isn't fit for the job.

Billy was the absolute best bartender I have ever met, not only did he go above and beyond for me and my friend, he did it all with a massive smile on his face and jokes for all. Best drink out I've had in a while. This man needs a raise or a promotion immediately. A real credit to the brand.

We loved it. My kids can't wait to go again

Bit of a scruffy Spoons with sticky tables.

Cheap and cheerful, can sit outside when it's not raining, so not very often and you are in town so don't expect a stunning view, but if you are like me i love people watching, don't expect to walk in and served straight away be patient as in almost every place now there isn't enough staff and they are lovely be patient same as ordering food which again is Okie dokie met some lovely people while sat outside

Had halumi and sweet chilli sauce wrap. Very nice. A quiet room to the side, or busy area at the front.

It's a Spoons, what more can you say

Good wetherspoons but not one of the best, good old corn exchange building on 2 levels, not the happiest wetherspoons staff and service can be slow

Good choice of beers 🍺, music is a little on the noisy side makes conversation a little challenging.

Very very very very loud music. I thought my head would explode. We didn't bother trying to have a conversation 🙄 as wouldn't be able to hear above the din..People near shouting toneach other to be heard. People go to spoons to eat and socialise. How can that happen with noise. Disappointing. If your not a head banger, steer clear. We would have stayed to have a meal and more refreshments, but couldn't bear the horrendous noise of music.

A fine weatherspoons but loud music so did not stay long, beer ok no Doombar on the menu so not 5 star 😀

Typical spoons . What's not to like.

I had the Fiesta Brunch which is new on the breakfast menu and I can recommend if you fancy your taste buds to be tickled. This Lloyds No.1 in Nottingham, is centrally placed near Lace Market Quarter, it has plenty of seating upstairs and down. There is a bar upstairs that do lovely cocktails at a reasonable price aswell and an outdoor area where you can relax. The music and vibe is always good here and is very popular with all who visit. Great pub!

Very busy service was good hard to get a seat.

Proper nottingham pub police walked in with me like bodyguards. Of course, there was a fight before I got there at 6 pm, lol 😆 🤣

Gross food, gross dirty pub. My partners food and the chips were ok however there was mould growing around the pub and clearly not a very clean environment. My chicken was also pink. The place could use a deap clean…

There’s a cluster of at least three Spoons around here and this is by far the grandest. Top rate friendly service as per usual. Limited outdoor seating at the front, more at the back but nothing great.

Brilliant for a spoons, interior is nice, the bar is massive and there’s a second bar upstairs, don’t have to wait too long for food and it’s nice to have some music on

Bouncers are so rude, they don't respect the customers. They need some soft skills training, and the men's washroom is always flooded.

I give this 1star because I've had fantastic food here when I just needed a walking aid,unfortunately I now require a wheelchair so this bar is no longer accessible to me...everywhere is steps inside the bar ...the irony of a disabled loo didn't escape me....!!!! There's a back entrance that's flat with a ramp into the pub but unfortunately it's locked so not accessible from the outside unless you have someone to go up the front steps and find a member of staff to go and open it!!!!!! I've never felt more disabled or excluded than I did trying to get a meal here. So Beware if you have mobility issues this isn't an easy bar to negotiate your way around.

Often stop in for breakfast and coffee. Great for people watching, you get to sit amongst the alcoholic pensioners that smash their way through 3 pints in the time it takes me to eat a full English. They lose a star for the staff paying absolutely no attention to the crack heads that sometimes go table to table harassing people for change. Overall, nice place, most of the staff are nice, the foods good enough and it's cheap.

Do NOT go here if you have a disability. The bouncers refused me entry due to my autism and nervous stance, a short fat bearded bouncer said I was too drunk when I hadn't even had anything to drink, I may have seemed nervous due to my autism, I do find people can tell I have autism fairly easily due to the way I look and act, I can be nervous in busy social settings and I can't think of any other reason this man would refuse me entry, especially while allowing my friends in.

A great pub with a great selection of Ales which is my drinking choice. The Chips were hot which is good as some Wetherspoons food is cold. Yes definitely coming back for Beer and Chips.again. Great staff too.

Got a seat, got a drink for cheap

It needs a bit of revamping as carpets are so dingy and dirty but it's inexpensive, staff is friendly and location is good.

Loved this building, an old bank if I'm not mistaken. High ceilings, large windows and an olde world feel in a spacious building. We were in for a few drinks on a Monday night and the place was buzzing. Young crowd, great atmosphere and cheap drinks. Music as well, the Wetherspoons near me dont play any. A very nice place to spend the evening with friends.

Best Fish and Chips I have tried so far

Hit and miss with this place, some days you get good food others it's poor. OK as a stop-gap. Plus the doors with the less able entry was closed again making it hard for me to get in and out.

The Maccies of pubs. Not the best at anything but cheap, reliable and good enough that you can’t really go wrong with it.

Decent place. Typical Wetherspoons. You know what you are getting. Was busy but still room enough and service was fairly quick

Absolutely disgusted with the Nottingham Wetherspoons Lloyds No1 bar As there is no disabled access for people in wheelchairs or mobility scooters as there are stairs at the entrance and no other way in, But the laugh of it is they have signs for disabled toilets. so was unable to go and have a meal with my family as unable to access the property. It is absolutely disgusting as we are visiting the area and Wetherspoons is one of our go to places for dining out due to allergies. So I class this as a very unfriendly establishment to disability

Well. It is a Spoons. So one knows what one is going to get. My purpose in this review is to draw attention to the staff. I visited here on the evening of St. Patricks Day 17th march 2024. Nottingham City Centre was totally manic. Not only were the students out in force, but it would also seem that there was some sort of national cheerleaders competition going on that day as well. Although the service was slower than even normal for a Spoons. I would just like to say the staff made a very admirable job under the circumstances. Thank you.

Didnt let our friend in even though she had the same amount as drinks as us and was not inebriated. Its ridiculous bouncers were so set in stone even though she didn't do anything wrong.

Visited twice. Once Sunday night, and then for a lovely cooked vegan friendly breakfast. Busy Sunday night, the bar team wasn't very aware of who was next at the bar, leaving me waiting a while to be served while others jumped in, and my drink had to be repoured as the lemonade syrup had gone. But once I got their attention and they helped me, they were really friendly and kind. My partner went to the bar to order breakfast, so I didn't have any interaction with the bar team Monday morning, but the food was delicious and absolutely incredible value for money. Love their vegan cooked breakfasts. I do get extra mushrooms, tomatoes, and a hashbrown as it's not quite big enough for a treat day breakfast. But amazing value all the same. Toilets are downstairs, by the way, for anyone visiting. I asked a possible regular where they were, and he was super friendly, pointing me in the right direction.

Wetherspoons with music and what seemed a slightly younger clientel. Food was good though heavily delayed with what appeared to be a shortage of staff. Then there were bits missing from the order. Later they shut part of the online order down for certain tables which meant huge queues at the bar. Female toilets were apparently in an appalligy state though the gents were fine. Not one of spoons finest venues

Some light background music 🎶 is called for. Possibly classic 50's/60's. Didn't eat, pizzas looked good

Didn’t eat here, only drinks. And didn’t have all that was advertised. It was busy with people enjoying themselves and who had far too much alcohol 🤦‍♀️ but in my opinion this place needs a refurb. The chairs and tables were worn out; upholstered armchairs are thick with grime. Such a shame as staff try hard.

Staff pleasant but seems to be running out of popular beers such as Worthington and Abbott on a regular basis!
