Great friendly bar good service and atmosphere

Thinking the security is rude and racist and needs to more training. Even when I showed my BRP card he said: nah nah it expired. Then I showed him my e-visa, and he still said everyone could make fake information when you show me this page, you need to understand, that the only need is your passport. Wow, this page shows all the information for my immigration status and it’s the official document from the Home Office. After that, he said sir we’re not airport, if you have any problems you should ask Wetherspoon. Ok fine. I understand they need to check I over 18 or challenge 25, but it’s ridiculous. And then when I go to another Wetherspoon, the security check my BRP card and let me in. So it’s double standard for check ID or Wetherspoon not recognised Home office documents? So funny.

Huge popular place with every table taken. Ordered drinks and food via the app, all arrived very quickly to say how busy the place was.

You guys need to clean your restaurant area. Already if we stand beside it all the smoke and fumes can be felt. The minimum to expect would be cleanliness.

Was honestly surprised that this Spoons had music playing, got cocktails and enjoyed them as always. You know what you're in for when it's spoons and it's cheap food and cheap drinks so passes all around.

Very busy as there was a gig on at the nearby arena. Friendly staff and food came out timely considering it was so busy

Apenas tenía patatas fritas que estuvieran mal cocidas y mi hamburguesa tenía lechuga que parecía que se había dejado fuera durante días y el pollo era tan delgado como una rodaja de queso. Como he dicho, me encanta Wetherspoon, pero hubiera preferido ir a McDonalds, habría sido de mejor calidad. El personal era encantador, pero necesito hablar con su chef.

Well went in for a meal 15 Feb 2025 order a American burger my god disgusting burger could not bite had to use knife and fork disgusting my wife had a wrap one piece of sausage with one piece of cheese just stuffed in wrap disgusting worse meal we have ever had would never go there again

The gate staff was immensely rude. He has absolute no sense of talking to customers. He has no control over his tongue. Even though we were extremely polite and obeying regarding the rules yet he just spoke everything which was against humanity.

The security guards were rude, arrogant and had no manners to deal and talk. I showed a document as Id proof which was not acceptable, I understood the fact and was going away but the guard started talking rubbish.

Always an excellent cask, real ale available. It is a big place, like the majority, if not all Wetherspoons pubs & it was packed making it quite difficult to find a table. Had a gourmet steak on “Steak Night”, which was cooked to perfection, but did have some gristle in it.

3 of us went to this pub , waited patiently for a table as the place was packed, finally got a table and proceeded to order food and drinks, whilst waiting for the food we asked if there was a place we could have a cigarette as none of us had been before, we were shown a exit door so we went out , the door was locked after us leaving us to walk around to the front of the building, we went to go back inside and was stopped by the very rude door men who abruptly told us they were too busy and we wasn’t allowed back in they said we had to wait 15 minutes despite being told we had already got a table and we were waiting for food - very hostile door men who actually said the manager told them we couldn’t go back in- I asked why they just said no - I asked for manager name and was laughed at and was told they didn’t know his name , eventually a young lady came out and brought us back in as our food was getting cold . Awful treatment we received- door men need serious re training, very rude and actually pushed a young man down the steps right into myself- will never return to this place , was treated like a criminal

Nice wetherspoons, food is hot and drinks are decently priced. Would recommend if looking for cheap and cheerful. Interesting history on the walls - worth a look.

Unbelievable experience though I'd expect nothing less from wetherspoons a brand we all admire and trust! Our work acquaintance Lucy wasnt the biggest fan of the paloma but I think she's just fussy! Picturesque location and setting especially on a student night, will go again!

Lloyds is a decent place for a pint. They have a outside garden for smoking, multi levels to get away from a crowd, they do food and cocktail pitchers for £8:40 which you can't argue with. So if you want cheap and cheerful, head to lloyds as you won't be disappointed.

Bit busy but table service and reasonably priced could do with upgrading speakers

Decent selection of beers at a good price, good location in the heart of the city, food is a bit hit n miss though Standards of service are getting worse, I stood waiting at the bar waiting to be served, when 3 staff members including a duty manage saw me, but failed to acknowledge me, then just wonder off, I waited nearly 5 ,abdtill no service, so I left mins

The food is hot and good taste.But the coffee machine always breakdown.

This place is dire. Tables full of dirty glasses and plates, staff rude and have nothing about them, slow lazy and too busy talking between themselves. Food is poor to say the least I won't go back again once was more than enough. Much better places to eat in Nottingham, this place is dirty, untidy, noisy and not a good environment to eat in. Management needs to get this sorted as it could be so much better with more staff.

Some Staff gives the impression that they don't want to be there infact can't be bothered. No manners not even basics. Those who were trying were unfortunately getting tared with the same brush!!

Atmosphere was really nice and the staff friendly enough. The people in there were lovely. The food however was abysmally rubbish.. ordered 2x mixed grills and it was chargrilled awfully and tasted burnt. Really not edible at all... Was just before Christmas when they were very busy so could have been a factor.. but still was awful food not up to standard at all...

First time here, as had a show at the Notts Contemporary...very busy cos of xmas period.. massive place too, although doesn't look like it from outside 🤣..always love a wetherspoons, food yum and despite being busy staff still chipper.

Food order was very messed up but staff were fantastic at sorting this out. My pizza was lovely. Can't argue with value for money.

If I could give this zero I would. I have frequented many Wetherspoons and never one like this. After a forty minute wait for food, it came out in staggered times, with items missing from the first dish, incorrect, substandard, cold or dishevelled from being left on the pass. I politely told the server that I fully appreciated it wasn't within her control but the food being served was awful and I would like to speak with a manager. Oh hell, I'd asked for the moon on a stick at this point. All in all throughly disappointing. I know this isn't a restaurant but if you serve food, Then serve it well.

Good weather spoons with central notts location. Plenty of seating inside, I visited on a Friday close to Christmas and got a table very easily. Very clean to say it was peak time on a Friday and beers were brought to the table very fast. Loads of room to move about nice place for a casual pint.

Typical spoons , beautiful old building, cheap drinks ( tbh it's why everyone goes there) but it works, cheap beer, place was packed atmosphere was great ( it was the last Friday before Christmas) it's why spoons works... Never been in a bad one yet... Even had a few compliments on my hat.. Which made me feel even more special 😂

I have never been more angry in my life. I ordered a drink, the manager typed the drink into the till and the card machine turned on. I paid. THEN she got us our drinks and said I had to pay. I was confused, and realised I had paid for someone else’s drinks. The manager who served me refused to refund me for the drinks the stranger had had and I had paid for. I find this completely unfair and an abuse of power. I am very upset. Very disgusting and greedy behaviour. Will I return? Yeah, probably.. but maybe next time I’ll walk away from the bar in the hopes someone else pays for my drink and is refused a refund, because that is the kind of service that is allegedly acceptable here.

Somos parte de un grupo inspirado de la universidad de 9 fuimos a un pub en Nottingham, pero estaba lleno de gente y no había asientos disponibles, pero uno de los miembros de nuestro grupo conocía otro pub, así que nos llevó allí no pudimos encontrar ningún asiento al principio, pero encontramos asientos arriba muy agradable personal educado la comida es buena las bebidas son buenas, pero lamentablemente no había cenas de Navidad de ningún tipo, pero aún así era un buen pub amable con personal educado vendrá de nuevo

Do not eat here food was atrocious waited half an hour that was acceptable , service was terrible no smile plonked the plates down and scarpered before I could say anything, food dried and microwaved , gloopy substance that was supposed to be gravy sausages they were debatable if they actually contained meat, second meal scampi think the scampi had scampered off the plate full of microwaved mushy peas they were not mushy chips were bullets the place was filthy

Nice enough pub, very busy...but omg the toilets are a disgrace! I could smell them before I got down stairs to them and when I entered I had to hold myself back from being sick!!! Absolutely disgraceful and spoiled the whole experience, didn't stay for more than 1 drink!

¡Fue una experiencia horrible! Pedido en el bar y el personal no tenía interés o modales. Suspirar como obviamente no quería trabajar. Fui a dejar mi bolsa en nuestra mesa sucia como ningún personal limpia mesas o se lleva bebidas vacías tienes que hacerlo tú mismo. Volví al bar. No se había molestado en tomar unas copas, así que tuve que preguntar de nuevo. ¡Sólo me miraba como un inconveniente! Ninguna taza tuvo que pedir a otro caminando por el personal. Traje uno con también un poco de actitud. ¡Mencioné la experiencia en el bar de inmediato! Fui a la máquina de café. Yo y otro cliente diciendo lo mismo que el personal ignorante grosero! ¡Otro cliente pidió al mismo personal que arreglara la máquina, así que dije que para ser honesto quiero devolver toda esta mala actitud! Gritó "ten un reembolso". Fui hasta que discutió conmigo empeorando las cosas y solo me dio 6 libras. 79 sin embargo, desayuné y bebí, así que obviamente más. Él me había dado el reembolso de la mesa equivocada. Afortunadamente había pedido recibo para probar lo que pedí. ¡Aún así estaba discutiendo, así que dije que parece que nadie sabe lo que hacen y que debe tener respeto por los clientes, no empeorar! ¡Un lugar de actitud absolutamente horrible! ¡Acostumbraban a los borrachos no clientes decentes!

A nice building with many different levels, typical of a wetherspoons & that's good not bad, you know what you're getting, food was ok & staff pleasant.

Nice food snd stuff just took about 1 hour to arrive and drinks took about 30 minutes to arrive apart from that amazing

They wouldn't let my friend in because he was wearing jogging bottoms - apparently a rule they only have on Friday and Saturday. The music is so uncomfortably loud in the evenings. Service hasn't been great and I haven't felt very respected by staff in previous visits. The food is what you'd expect from any Wetherspoon.

Just witnessed an old man clearing a table so he can sit down. Blonde girl working here walked over noticed him doing her job for he and walked away. Disgusting

My personal favourites nottingham spoons. Good service, plenty of seating. Atmosphere is what makes it stand out. Definitely recommend this spoons

Nice and affordable varieties of food…but very bad service…..I was at the bar upstairs for ordering food and drinks but both the staffs were talking each other and took the order after a long time……also my drinks was left at the bar for 10 minutes without being served to the table

Large English Breakfast I was very surprised how good the large English Breakfast was having read many reviews about the wether spoon’s pub grub The service from the female staff was excellent and the attention to you needs during my stay was A1 👏👏👏 The Atmosphere was also very good Would definitely recommended this pub Must of clicked on the wrong Wetherspoon I was referring to one in Bristol not Nottingham 😱

Definite example of expectation vs reality. "New" gourmet burgers advertised but presentation is worse than McDs. Looks like someone was slapped with it before it was plated up.

Every time i go into Lloyds No1 (Nottingham) there's another new face serving behind the bar, who seems to be slightly stupider than the last one. So let me give you a few tips. Ever heard the saying ''service with a smile''? try it. Start by asking yes sir/madam what would you like, or what can i get you? Don't assume they want a mixer or ice with their drinks, or an order of food. Listen to the customer carefully, and don't assume how they gonna pay by pointing at the card machine even before they've received their order when they might be using cash. Finish by saying thank you sir/madam. I know it's low paid but if you don't like it, then take your poor attitude and find another job to pay off that student debt to cover that useless degree you'll probably end up with. Oh and one more thing, i've noticed and not for the first time, that some staff don't know the difference between a single and a double? so you're either don't know what you're doing or you're skimming the till !

Waitress: There are no pancakes left for your american breakfast. Do you want something else instead? Me: No problem, put some toast instead of pancakes, please. Waitress after 5 minutes bringing 2 toasts without rest of the order. Do they use their brains in there, idk? Lack of management at all. But who cares? It's just another spoon.

Me and my friends came for are a weekend In Nottingham traveled all the way from Milton Keynes. Are hotel was next to this weatherspoons. Well were do I start, the staff are horrible they need to take a lesson how to communicate with customers. I know this as I use to work in catering. The atmosphere is dreadful, and the breakfast was cold and not a lot for a large breakfast. Will not be coming here again. Tables need cleaning, Wetherspoon management need to check their place out.

Didn't have food but was a good cheap place. Down side was the disabled toilets, although radar key they are used by everyone with urine all over the floor in puddles and no soap. Apparently the men's just smelt really bad but no puddles of urine 🤔😕

Today it took nearly half an hour for our food to come out, went to complain but server just ignored me, food was alright the pizza edges were burnt so flaked away and the boneless chicken basket was quite grissly.

Only had coffee but the food looked good as it was delivered to adjacent tables.

Rejected entry at 7:30 with 6 friends out for a drink but then straight after a larger group of lads dressed up in party gear allowed entry. Clearly the bouncers live up to their stereotypical personas, very rude, using their weight to throw authority around.

Horrible racist bouncers! Refused entry claiming were too drunk we only just arrived in town my friend believed she left her ID in there night before and wanted to check. Never been to Lloyds 1 bar and will not be returning !! Disgusting behaviour

Didn’t have what either of us wanted on the menu. Tables left dirty and full of pots.

There are 3 spoons in town within walking distance of each other. This one is the most lively of the lot. Decent atmosphere even at Noon on a weekday as well!

Food mediocre in the evening. Went for breakfast in the morning. Not great service. Hott choc machine not working and nobody bothered when it was reported. Breakfast not the best I've had at Wetherspoons but edible.

Not my first choice on a night out. Would choose another spoons. Negatives - the bouncers are unprofessional, rude and disrespectful (especially to men) compared to e.g The Goosebury Bush bouncers. Positives - music is often played with dim lighting and colour lights. Atmosphere can be pretty good. The BAR STAFF are great.

Great to be back in notts. The 90's can't be beaten but to just visit an old haunt during the day with family for a meal and a cheeky pint is surreal, but nostalgic.

When you order sticky toffee pudding and you have fruit and ice cream as extra why doesn't it all come together in the same dish instead of in two separate dishes seems a stupid and backwards to me that 🤔

Nice pub spread over two floors and some cosy seating corners including a small beer garden. The ambience was however I think they should keep the place more clean, maintained and a little more lit up. I sat on the upper floor near the bar, and felt a bit in dark. Also, the food was not like what we get in other spoons. The chicken wings were so dry and tasteless, I had to leave back a few for the first time.

Ladies toilets had sick in the sink before 5pm and the banisters down to the toilets were very sticky. Staff were very polite. Liked the music playing

The bar was very crowded but the bartender maz was very attentive and charismatic. She made sure every customer was seen to and did an amazing job.

We were the first people through the door on a Sunday morning, so even by the time we left it was only sober people having breakfast or a coffee. Lots of space, decent food, friendly enough staff (one guy was a bit frosty, but was OK after we were polite to him). It's Spoons. You get what you pay for. Would we go back? Absolutely

Vine a Lloyds por unas copas y comida si sabes que la comida de la cuchara no es tan buena y pensé que el curry sería una opción segura. Pero tristemente no lo era. El curry venía con pan samosas naan, que estaba bien, pero el curry no. El curry se nota. Patak es curry de un frasco y no había suficiente arroz en el plato. Para ser honesto, puedo hacer mejores currys que la mierda que se obtiene de wethersponns.

Absolutely brilliant public house.drinks are all very cheap.excellent atmosphere all week.spea.cially weekends.sit outside and watch people go by and enjoying.foid is very good and cheap.serve breakfast all day.

It's a wetherspoons so you just expect basic. When basic expectations aren't met you end up with this shambles of a place. The pop I ordered for my daughter was wrong and flat. Took it back and was met with a dirty attitude by the woman behind the bar. Who I assume to be the manager came over and sorted the problem. Sat waiting for food and was brought drinks we didn't order. Told the girl they wasn't ours and just got shrugged shoulders. So someone elsewhere clearly didn't get what they had ordered. The food was brought out by a man who was eating, while bringing our food. Who then gave us filth cutlery it was that bad I again had to go back to the bar to show them this was the state of the cutlery you just gave us. Was told I'll show a manager they will speak to you. That person never came just a girl who put the new ones on the table and said "there" Of all the wetherspoons out there this one needs a management review as that person isn't fit for the job.

We loved it. My kids can't wait to go again

Bit of a scruffy Spoons with sticky tables.

Cheap and cheerful, can sit outside when it's not raining, so not very often and you are in town so don't expect a stunning view, but if you are like me i love people watching, don't expect to walk in and served straight away be patient as in almost every place now there isn't enough staff and they are lovely be patient same as ordering food which again is Okie dokie met some lovely people while sat outside

Had halumi and sweet chilli sauce wrap. Very nice. A quiet room to the side, or busy area at the front.
