Simple but very pleasant cafe with a community flavour. Great food. Great service. 10 of us booked and dropped in for breakfast. We had a range of food from full veggie breakfasts to bacon sandwiches, poached eggs on toast and cheese scones. All were delicious. We'll be back.

My partner and I went to The Salt Cellar yesterday for lunch and had a great experience. Jeff and the team there were all extrememly freindly and obviously passionate about their business. My partner had the spicey chicken burger which definately lived up to its name by having a great kick to it! I had the chicken gyro which was incredidibly fresh and a great portion size. There was a great selection of sweet treats available. We had a portion of the bread and butter pudding and the lemon cheesecake which we would both thoroughly reccomend. Thankfully we don't live too far away as we'll be heading back soon!

Just come back from a superb evening at the Salt Cellars. Food is amazing. Really well prepared and thoughtfully presented. A really friendly and warm atmosphere and reasonably priced. Try it.

We decided to book a table on one of the pizza evenings. Well, what a disappointing evening that was. Ordered the goats' cheese, beetroot, and red onion pizza, as it sounded so different. What we got was a camembert, garlic roulade pizza, which is not what we wanted, and i had to send back to the kitchen, as undercooked in the centre, very wet and unappetising to say the least. Sadly, we will not be returning.

What an absolute gem of a place! We didn’t know what to expect when we arrived at The Salt Cellars but it’s a truly unique little cafe/restaurant/bar/shop tucked away in Budleigh. We came for dinner with two young children, 2 and 4, both VERY energetic and being a bit difficult after a long drive. The host was absolutely lovely and moved us to a table with a built in chalkboard (great idea!) which solved the boredom problem. The food - we ordered pizzas for all of us and they were absolutely incredible, much better quality than we could have hoped for and freshly made in a pizza oven. All washed down with organic Italian wine recommended by the owner, again - we weren’t expecting such great quality in such a small local place! We felt so welcomed, genuinely lovely staff and it felt like like we’d always been there, despite the aforementioned crazy kids… All said and done this isn’t just the best place to eat in Budleigh, I think it’s one the best places for miles! If you’re after a quick bite and glass of wine you won’t be disappointed.

I’ve been to this place, many times, never been disappointed. Brunch with the girls 10 of us was fantastic. It’s the best brunch we’ve ever had dinner and pizza nights. We’ve had fantastic nights with such friendly staff and Jeff and Sophie are brilliant. They really look after us. The prices never extortionate the service and the food is amazing. You have to try it

We went for my birthday with the family and they make it such a special, memorable experience (as they do every time) THANK YOU Jeff!! The children had a ball and the food was absolutely delicious. And for me, great to have excellent bespoke vegetarian options available ❤️

We went on pizza night, which was excellent, as was service, and the general friendly atmosphere and decor. Child friendly. Would definitely go again if in the area.

The staff here are so friendly and inviting and nothing is too much. The owners go above and beyond to meet customers needs, if they haven’t got it they will try and get it and will do all they can to adapt things to suit. It also sells local crafts, beers, and deli and has a selection of essential items to purchase, especially useful for the near by locals. The Salt cellars are also dog friendly, family oriented and has a big box of toys, games and books plus treats for the pups. Budleigh Salterton is a beautiful part of east Devon and this place really is a hidden gem, tucked away in a residential area. It will be a regular for us!

A fantastic atmosphere, best pizzas in Budleigh. Jeff and Sophie are amazing hosts, I challenge anyone not to enjoy their time here. Indoor and outdoor seating mean you can enjoy the hot weather or shelter from the cold.

Ate on the table outside as was such a nice day. Really helpful staff - the kitchen was actually closed in preparation for a large event that evening but they rustled us up some delicious paninis which were just what we needed to keep us going. Took a coupe of their homemade granola bars for later too which were perfect for a mid-ride snack later.

We went here for the first time at the weekend for breakfast/brunch. We were made very welcome and our breakfasts were very good all round - bacon sandwiches with some home-made relish, and a fried egg sandwich, plus coffee. The coffee was excellent, so much so, that we stayed longer than planned for another round. Before we left, we were treated to a chocolate brownie, which was delicious. Service was great and very welcoming. Definitely will return and would highly recommend.

Recommended by the Bedford Hotel where we always stay when visiting Regency Sidmouth for "the best Devonshire cream tea." Quality jam and cream is presented in proper dishes, not prepacked in hideous plastic containers. A generous supply although we have had better scones but still worth a visit. "A destination in itself."🇬🇧🇳🇿

Great lunchtime visit today. Excellent value, warm, welcoming atmosphere, good food and good coffee. 2 children (4+6) were happy to play on the equipment whilst their grownups chatted and sad to leave at the end of our slot.

As soon as you step through the door you know the place is well run; with the shop shelves beautifully stacked. All the prices were very reasonable too. Like the shop, the cafe was spotless where we enjoyed coffee that was full of flavour, but not bitter. It was obvious the whole business was being well looked after and clients were made very welcome.
