Lovely food, but loud and chaotic considering we wanted a peaceful Sunday but understandable given the hype! We had beef which was incredibly tasty, as was all Other dishes (except cauliflower cheese - watery) and service was chaotic but good natured so forgivable. Dog barking constantly didn’t help with the furore but easily just bad luck.

Travelled to Hawkshurst yesterday after seeing the sharing roasts going viral. Booked six weeks back and been waiting patiently to see if it was all hype or not. I can safely say they delivered and lived up to the hype. Between us we had 2 sharing roasts beef & lamb both meats cooked well and plenty to feed 4 x adults & 2 x kids. The gravy is next level best meat juice I’ve had in a while. 100% recommend this place

We had a dinner reservation for Sunday, they called and asked us if we wanted to pre book our roasts as they are popular, they are in a tray and serve 3-4 people. We had a Chicken & Beef, Chicken first - very small just about enough for 2 kids, undercooked parsnips and carrots and pigs in blankets. Beef - The beef was fatty and didn't fall apart - the carrots, parsnips and pigs in blankets were nice and roasted, TBH - £69 for the beef is extortionate - Defo only for 3 persons (the a £23 pp dinner) The puddings well we opted for sticky toffee with honeycomb ice cream - the portion was tiny and the pudding very thin - it looked like a small brownie £7.95 defo not worth that. The service was fine , a little slow but they were busy. The insta post makes this look fab, but its more of a gimmic and i think that is what you pay for

Recently visited this pub whilst staying in Hawkhurst, it’s quite & cosy, with a great open fire which really added to the atmosphere. Staff were lovely & welcoming.

We were visiting Hawkhurst but didn't stay at The Royal Oak. We had drinks on a few occasions, really friendly, welcoming staff, cosy log fire, clean and very dog friendly. We didn't try the food but they served a rather nice local ale.

AVOID! So unnecessarily rude! Dreadful service and attitude. Why is this tolerated in such a lovely location? Just horrible staff, over priced and needlessly offensive

This a great pub in Hawkhurst and I decided to have lunch before I went to work. I must commend Harry as well as Alfie, who were both very accommodating and welcomed me with a smile. They reacted quickly to any requests that I had and the food tasted great. Also, their lovely dog Mya was lovely. Will be definitely returning to this smashing restaurant. I highly recommend it.

This was once one of my favourite spoons in the country, it is such a shame that is now turned into one of the worst, and in such a beautiful building. It seems massively under staffed, the tables are not cleaned and empty glasses just pile up , and it took 15 minutes to get a drink served at the table. Sort it out Tim this place needs to be saved.

Great food and service from Adam we did an overnight stop for dinner in our Motorhome. Lovely decor and ambience. Nice to find a business sourcing local produce and we thought good value for money given the quality of the food and presentation. The only downside was the discretionary 12.5% service charge. We always reward great service with a tip and always object to this being added on especially 12.5%! That said Adam was charming and very gracious when we challenged 12.5%

I booked Premier Inn Tunbridge Wells for a stay during a table football tournament, representing my country. One of the main reasons I chose this hotel was their breakfast offering and their "Good Night Guarantee," as we needed early starts each day. Unfortunately, the experience was far from what was promised. Upon arrival, we discovered that the restaurant was closed due to a rat infestation. This not only meant no breakfast but also raised serious concerns about the cleanliness and hygiene of the hotel overall. The fact that a rat infestation was even an issue speaks volumes about the level of upkeep here. Despite this significant inconvenience, Premier Inn failed to honour their Good Night Guarantee and refused to offer a refund or any form of compensation. I’m left feeling completely let down, and given the circumstances, I can only give this hotel a negative review. If cleanliness and basic service standards matter to you, I would avoid this location at all costs.
